Destiny's POV:

"Why isn't anything working!" I burst out, throwing the empty vial away. The vial shatters into small glass shards. Taking a hesitant breath, Regina hands me another vial with a white, cloudy liquid.

"Try this one," she suggests, the enthusiasm we had at the beginning of this task fading from her voice. Sighing, I take the vial from her. I grip it carefully with both hands, afraid that I might break it with my rage. I take a couple of breaths. Thinking positively, I bring the vial close to my face.

Closing my eyes, I try to trigger the magic deep inside me. I re-imagine its form like a blossoming bud, waiting to bloom in the pit of my stomach. I urge it to open and let out its magical scent. For a moment, its petals start to move, slightly opening up. Excitement floods through me. It's working again.

It opens up, petal by petal. I open my eyes, feeling the flower's energy rush throughout my body. I chant onto the vial. Praying silently in my head, I open the vial and thrust its contents at the door. It spills uselessly down it. The engraved symbol remains stubborn on the door. I collapse with exhaustion on the ground.

"This is useless." I groan, putting my head in my hands.

"We still have-" Regina starts, but I interrupt her.

"No matter how many vials or powders we have, it won't be worth wasting it if I can't get my magic to work." I throw a small box that laid beside me, "And no one even knows we are here!"

"Have you tried calling anyone?" Regina asks.

Filled with hope, I frantically feel my pockets, letting out a cry of triumph. I pick myself up and hit the power button. After a few taps, I hold it to my ear, waiting for it to connect.

"Destiny?"

"Nova! Thank goodness!"

"Where are you?"

"We need help! We are-" I stop and look down at my phone in devastation.

"Why'd you stop?" Regina asks, looking at my phone worriedly.

"My phone died. Dammit!" I kick the wall. I turn back to Regina.

"Wait, what about your phone?" Regina avoids eye contact.

"I left my phone at my office." I throw my hands up with frustration.

"Great. Now we're going to be stuck in here forever," I exaggerate. I slam my bandaged hand into the wall. Wincing, I gasp out in pain, holding onto my hand. Regina leans against the wall opposite me and slides down to the ground. I do the same. We both let out a exasperated sigh. I stare at Regina.

"Hey. About before... I really am sorry about what I said." Regina waves her hand dismissively.

"Don't worry about it. I know you didn't mean it, and even if you did, I still wouldn't care."

I laugh.

"I'm sorry too, about your mother. I never thought my mother was capable of killing anyone. Until that day when she..." Regina stops, her eyes shiny with tears. I furrow my eyebrows. Noticing my curious look, Regina shakes her head.

"A story for another time. Right now, we need to get out of here." Grabbing the vial beside her, she picks herself up. She walks over to me and holds out her free hand. I stare at it, then at her.

"No harm in trying again?" She suggests. Sighing, I take her hand and let her haul me up.

"I guess. Hopefully, Nova got the idea that we're stuck and she'll try to find us."

Nova's POV:

"Come on, Destiny. Pick up," I urge as I hold my phone to my ear. The call goes straight to voicemail. I end the call and discard my phone onto the table. I run my hand through my hair.

We need help! We are-

Destiny's previous call repeats in my mind, making me more and more anxious. Who was she with? And where were they? I turn around, watching as Granny puts the closed sign up and locks the door of the Diner. I glance at Belle. She sits lifelessly at one of the tables, her sore eyes staring off into the distance. The sight claws away painfully at my heart.

Emma sits beside her, rubbing Belle's shoulder with her hand. She glances over to me, a worried look across her face. Ruby appears from behind the counter, coffees in hand. As I walk over, Ruby comes up to me.

"Did she answer?" She asks. I shake my head. I help her place the coffees onto the table. We both take a seat.

"What is going on in this town? First, Rumpelstiltskin's apparently dead. Now Destiny is missing?" Ruby says, leaning back in her seat.

I rub my face with my hands, "I have to find her."

Ruby takes my hand, "We will, and whoever is with her."

Just then, Henry bangs on the locked door. Emma stands up and unlocks it. "What are you doing here? I thought you were with Regina."

"I was but then she said she had to go check something. That was 5 hours ago. You haven't seen her?" He asks, looking around at us.

Ruby and I make eye contact. "Destiny's missing too." I admit. Emma looks at me, surprise etched across her face.

"Sorry," I apologize to Emma. "She called me not long ago. She had horrible service. All I got out of the call was 'We need help! We are-' then the call ended. I didn't know who she was with but I think it's safe to guess she's with Regina."

"Well if they're together, that's good right? They'll be able to get out of whatever problem they're in," Henry says, his face hopeful.

"But there's no magic. And from the call, Destiny sounded stressed," I gently remind him.

"But what kind of trouble could two of the most powerful people I know be in?" Emma asks. I shake my head.

"I don't know," I reply, trying to think.

"I know it's not possible but what if there is magic?" Henry says. Seeing all our confused faces, Henry continues on,"It would explain Mr Gold's death. Maybe the person who killed him is responsible for Destiny and Regina going missing? Maybe they've locked them up with magic?" Henry suggests. I give him an unsure look.

"You could be onto something but how can that person use magic in Storybrooke?" I run both hands through my hair before bolting out of my seat.

"I have to go find her. Just sitting here and talking is making me more sick with worry." I glance at the motionless Belle, then at Ruby.

"Take care of her." Ruby nods.

"I'll come with you," Emma adds. As we both step out of the Diner, I catch a glimpse of Killian walking along the street opposite us. I rush to him.

"Killian!" Killian stops and looks my way. He smiles.

"Hey, is-"

"Have you seen Destiny around?" Killian's smile fades at the worried look across my face.

"Yeah. She got a call from Regina a couple of hours ago, saying she found something. Why, what's wrong?"

"I'll tell you on the way. Right now, we need to find Destiny." Anxiously, I rush ahead, followed by Killian and Emma. My stomach churns. Please be ok, Destiny. Wherever you are.

Destiny's POV:

Panting, I step away from the door. It's useless. No matter how hard I try, nothing is working. My mind throws negative thoughts at me, drowning my confidence. Ignoring Regina's worried look, I collapse on the ground and lean my back against the wall. I bang my head it, holding back my tears of defeat.

The silence surrounds us. I rub my arms, noticing how cold the tomb is. Unable to bottle the negativity, I break the silence.

"My mother was wrong." Regina stares at me, confused. I meet her eyes.

"I am not the strong daughter she thinks I am. Hell, I don't think I'm even a source of magic." Regina leans forward.

"Hey. That is not true and you know it. I know how tempting it is to give up, but we can't give in to that," Regina tries to convince me. I smile sarcastically.

"Too late." I let out a small laugh before continuing.

"The funny thing is, I actually let myself believe that I'm strong and powerful. When really, I am practically nothing without my magic. My mother must be staring down at me with disappointment." Regina pinches the bridge of her nose.

"I highly doubt that, but if it makes you feel better stabbing yourself, then go right ahead. What do I know? All I seem to know is how to ruin other people's lives. And apparently, I can still do that without magic," Regina mumbles. I narrow my eyes at her.

"Are you kidding me?" She looks at me in confusion and I continue, "You are one of the fearless people I know. You've raised Henry to be a perfect young man, you've faced so many obstacles; all you've overcome without magic." I shake my head in amazement. "When we grew up together, I wished that I could be like you. I idolized you, to be honest." Regina snorts.

"Don't be silly. More like I idolised were always the favourite one in my mother's eyes." My smile fades. I stare down at my hands.

"And now I know why." Regina downcasts her eyes with guilt. The silence returns. Regina clears her throat.

"Remember when I mentioned how I didn't think my mother was capable of killing anyone?" She starts. Instantly, I straighten up. Regina brings her knees closer to her chest.

"There was this man I fell in love with. He was just gorgeous... soft, brown eyes, brown, slick back hair." She pulls a radiant smile, as though the thought of him made her soul dance with delight. It brings a smile to my face.

"His name was Daniel. We would secretly meet at my stables. You know how my mother was. She would kill me if she found out, especially since she was planning to get me married to some king. At the time, I knew the king's daughter, Snow. She found out about Daniel and I told her to promise me that she wouldn't tell Cora about him." She takes in a deep breath. My heart sinks, dreading what is to come next.

"Regrettably, Snow, being the foolish child she was, blurted out to Cora about him. My mother was furious and confronted Daniel and I at the stables." Regina's lips start to tremble. She looks at me with moistened eyes.

"She... ripped his heart out and... crushed it in front of me. I watched as he collapsed to the ground, every ounce of life taken from him. I... I couldn't save him." Her voice wavers dangerously, her tears escaping from her eyes. I rush over to her side and put my arm around her shoulder.

"Regina... I'm so sorry," I apologise. Regina wipes her tears roughly and side glances at me.

"Since then, I've been nothing but bitter and heartless. Until I found Henry. I know it feels impossible that we'll get out of here. But I have to believe that we will. For mine and Henry's sake, I have to believe." She stops, letting her emotions wash over her.

Guilt stabs me in my heart. I was so concerned with my own feelings that I didn't even consider Regina's. A new burst of energy tingles within me.

"We will find a way out of here, Regina. I promise."

Regina silently rests her head on my shoulder.

"I hope so."

Nova's POV:

"Where could they be?" I groan, as Emma, Killian and I walk slowly through the street. Killian brushes a hand through his hair.

"I don't know. They're not at Regina's house or at the docks. This is starting to worry me. Where else could they be?" Killian asks. I stop beside the wall of a shop. I press my hand against it, my heart pounding frantically. Emma rubs my back.

"Are you ok?" I glance back at her.

"Not really. Destiny was always the one who knew what to do in these kind of situations. Now Regina and Destiny are nowhere to be found, and I have no idea what to do," I say, leaning my back against the wall.

Killian kicks the wall with frustration, "Of course it happens when we don't have any magical things. If only we had a tracking dog or something to find them." He sighs, running his hand through his hair again.

I look at Emma and I can tell that we're thinking the same thing.

"A dog?" I ask.

Killian nods nonchalantly, "Yeah. There was this show on that box thing in my room and the police used dogs to find the bad guys." Killian eyes us suspiciously as our faces brighten.

"There's one way we could find them," I reply.

"No. I'm not doing that," Ruby argues as she hands the customer their order. The Diner was crowded once again, not letting the previous events ruin the mood of the town. Ruby had taken Belle home and put her to sleep.

I lean against the counter.

"Please, Ruby. We need your help. We can't find them anywhere. Isn't that worrying?" I argue back. Ruby plants her hands on her hips and sighs.

"Of course it's worrying. But..." Ruby leans forward and whispers,

"I don't want to scare people with my... animal form. And without magic, I'm not sure whether I can even turn."

"I know, but we have to try. If anything happens to Destiny, I don't know what I'll do," I reply, unable to hide my desperation.

She bites her lip, thinking. A customer calls and after refilling his cup, she returns. "Okay. I'll help."

I jump off my chair. "Yay!"

"Bring me something of Destiny's at 3."

I nod, turning as I walk out the door.

At 3, I return to the Diner, holding one of Destiny's shirts. When I arrive, Ruby and Emma are about to leave.

"I got one of her shirts." I hand it over to Ruby. Without wasting anymore time, we rush out. Along the way, Killian joins us, his face shining with hope.

We stop at an empty street. Hesitantly, Ruby removes her red fingerless gloves. She closes her eyes and breathes in deeply for a few seconds. Ruby opens her eyes, worry clouding her face.

"I'm sorry but I can't turn."

"Why not?" I ask. She shrugs.

"It must be because we don't have magic."

"Can you still use your senses without turning?"

"I can try." She holds Destiny's shirt to her nose and inhales it deeply. Her eyes widen and change to a hazel colour before disappearing. She sniffs the air.

"This way." She points ahead. Anxiously, we follow her lead.

Destiny's POV:

Cold. So cold. I rub my arms for warmth, a constant shiver rushing through my spine. I turn beside me to find Regina sleeping, covered with my jacket. I think back to the promise I made her. I force myself off the ground, crying out in pain as I feel pins and needles in my feet.

I limp to the door. Stopping a few inches away, I close my eyes, concentrating on my power. As I try to awaken it, I hear my name being faintly called.

"Destiny!"

I open my eyes, wondering whether I had imagined it. But I hear my name again. I gasp with realization. Nova!

"WE'RE HERE!" I scream to the top of my lungs, startling Regina from her sleep.

"What's wrong?" Regina mumbles. I turn to her.

"It's Nova! She's in the cemetery! NOVA! WE'RE HERE!" I repeat. Hurriedly, Regina gets to her feet and joins me. Eventually, we hear footsteps coming our way. Nova's voice grows clearer as she reaches the door.

"Destiny! Are you there?"

"Yes! I'm here. Don't touch the door! It's been sealed with magic," I warn her. The sound of several footsteps disappear. Along with Nova, I could hear Killian, Ruby and Emma call out beside her.

"Are you ok? How did you two get sealed in here?" Nova calls.

"Yes, we're fine. I don't know. While we were here, someone had sealed the door. How did you guys find us?" I reply.

"All thanks to Ruby. She caught your scent and led us here. Turns out she's a werewolf," Killian interrupts. I giggle at his questioning tone.

"Is there a way we can unseal the door?" Killian asks softly. Regina speaks up.

"We weren't sure at first, but I think we do have a way. Turns out, Destiny is more powerful than we imagined. If we can try and awaken her inner power, we might have a chance at getting out."

"That should be easy!" Killian says.

I shake my head before realizing they can't see me. "We've been trying for hours to get it to work, but nothing."

"Well maybe, you're not doing it right?" Nova asks.

I laugh, "Okay," I say sarcastically.

Regina rolls her eyes, "We've tried everything."

"Well, I'm not going to give up on you." I hear Nova stomp her foot. "You always save me and now it's my turn to help you."

Regina looks at me in confusion. "You saved her?"

Nova speaks before me, "That's how we met."

"It was a long time ago…" I trail off, being sucked into a memory.

Mother and I had just come back from the market. I was probably around 10. Once we got to camp, she let me play for a bit before dinner.

As I chased a white butterfly, I heard a faint crying come from the woods. Being the curious one I always was, I followed the sound. The crying girl fell silent. I quickened my pace and stopped in the opening of the woods.

A girl was lying unconsciously in the middle, sharp claw marks embedded in her skin. I run to her. I knelt beside her, examining her wounds, I start to panic. I didn't know how to help her. All I knew was how to move things around with my magic, not heal someone.

I considered screaming for help but I froze. Her wounds were severe. She might not make it to the camp. I had to help her somehow.

Taking a deep breath, I placed my hands on top of her. I exhaled, feeling the sensation of magic fill my stomach. Please let me be able to heal her, I thought to myself as I chanted the sacred words of harnessing my magic. My hands charged up with its energy.

Before I knew it, the light of my magic blinded me.

"I had healed Nova and saved her life. It was that day I realised how much power I had," I explain, the memory wearing off.

"Yeah. Sorry about running off when you saved me. I thought those wolves were still after me," Nova apologises before adding,

"But that's not why I reminded you of that time. Remember when you told me how useless you felt. How you felt you couldn't ever become as powerful as your mother because you couldn't learn magic quick enough. But that was not true. When you saved me, you believed you could do it. That's how you were able to use your magic. You can do this, Destiny. You have to believe," Nova encourages.

I nod my head, "Okay, I got this." I close my eyes and focus. "You might want to step away from the door," I suggest. After I hear a shuffle of feet, I picture that moment long ago, imagining the same feeling I had then.

After a couple moments of nothing, I start to loose hope.

You can do this.

Anything is possible if you always believe in yourself.

The words repeat over and over again in my mind. My hope starts rebuilding as I let the words sink in. The bud inside starts to open again, petal by petal. A surge of energy fills my entire body, making me gasp with surprise. A smile tugs at my lips.

I push the rest of my energy into unlocking my power. I open my eyes to find my body glowing. I position my hands forward. A burst of light shoots out and collides with the door, blinding us and causing me to turn away. As the light dimmed, I look back, shielding my eyes once again. Only this time, it's against the sunlight.

I sigh with relief. I did it!
