Chapter Five: Getting to know each other

Abbey woke up to see that she wasn't in her room as she got up from the bed she was in, and she went out of the room as Anna appeared in front of her as she said "How did you sleep Abbey? I hope you slept well" Abbey looked at her oddly as she said "Ms. Anna did I sleep over here in Niko's palace? If I did I should go right now, or tell my father" Anna put her hand on Abbey's shoulder as she said "Abbey it's okay, I told your father that you were here and that nothing happened between you and Niko. Why don't you go get ready for your school day, and I'll tell Niko that you're awake." Abbey went back the room to put her cloths on as Anna went into the other room where Niko was sitting. Niko looked up to see that Anna was standing there as he said "What is it?" Anna went up to him as she said "Abbey has woken up, so I told her to go get ready for school. Now I hope that you'll be on your best behavior." Niko only looked away from his aunt as he said "I can't really grantee anything, but I'll try to be nice that is all that I can do." Niko looked back to watch his aunt walk past him as then Abbey came in with a very beautiful gown that made Niko really look at Abbey. Abbey spoke to Niko "Is something wrong" as then Niko had to look away as he said "No, let's go." As then both Niko and Abbey left the palace, so that Niko could take Abbey to Monster High.

They had finally made it to Monster High as Abbey was about to go into the school; Niko on the other hand didn't feel comfortable so he spoke his mind "Abbey, I think I should go". Abbey turned around as she said "Niko why should you leave? I don't understand isn't your part of the punishment to escort me to my classes or something like that" Niko looked at her with sadness as he replied back with "I don't think I belong here". As then Niko left Abbey to go to her school, and left her dumb founded. That is when Lagoona went up to Abbey as she said "Come on mate, we have to go to class" that is when both Lagoona and Abbey went to their classes.

It was finally lunch time as Abbey sat with her friends as Frankie said "Abbey, where is Niko? Isn't he supposed to be keeping up with his punishment too? I mean it shouldn't be that hard to do, and he might actually like our school." Abbey looked at Frankie as she replied back with "Niko said that he didn't feel comfortable coming into the school, but he wouldn't tell me why he didn't want to come in." Frankie and the rest of the ghoul friends finally got done their lunch as Lagoona said "Abbey why you talk to Niko, I mean both of you have to make do with the punishment that you're both in. So why don't you make the best of it." Abbey looked back at her ghoul friends as she said "You're right, I'll have to have a talk with him." As then they went to their next classes, but something in Abbey was telling her that something was wrong.

School has finally had ended at Monster High as Abbey got out of the school there stood Niko waiting for her. Abbey went up to Niko as she said "Shall we leave then?" The only response that she got from him was a nod as she left with him to go back to his palace. As they were about to go up the steps of his palace; Niko stopped as he put his hand up to her when he said "Abbey get behind the tree over there." Abbey did what he said and hid behind the pine tree as he looked around to see who was at his palace. As then a woman appeared in front of him as she said "Hello Niko we missed you" Niko seethed at her as he replied back with "Darcie what do you want?" Darcie only smirked as she said "I've come word from my lady that she said that she is looking forward to meeting you again. She has seen what you have become and she has become very pleased. I hope you'll let her into your beautiful home" Niko through a magic snow ball at her as he said "Tell your lady that she's not welcome here! You got that" as then Darcie smirked again as she whispered in his ear "I wouldn't say that if I were you Niko, seeing with your girlfriend standing there hearing everything we have said." Niko stepped back from the Darcie as he said "She's not my girlfriend" but before he could finish his sentence Darcie stopped him as she replied back with "We wouldn't want anything to happen to her do we. Well I'll relay the message to my lady, but I'd be careful if I were you Niko." Darcie started to walk away from Niko as he watched her carefully to see that she was actually leaving them alone. As then Abbey came out from where she was hiding as she said "What was that about?" Niko toke her hand as he toke her into the palace as he said "I'll tell you later."

Niko then asked Abbey to sit at the table as he said "Please sit Abbey, I'll be right back. I need to talk to my aunt about something." Abbey did what she was asked as she sat at the table while Niko went to see his aunt as he called out to her "Auntie Anna, I need to talk to you" as then Anna appeared in front of him saying "What's wrong Niko you sounded urgent?" Niko told her everything as Anna became even more concern about what the demon was going to pull next from her bag of tricks. Niko finally spoke again "Auntie Anna when you said that my mother died, or got trapped in the ice stone that she gave me. Was it because of the demon who wanted me for some reason?" Anna could only nod at her poor nephew as he looked down ashamed that he thought that his own mother had forgotten him and left him with his aunt because she didn't love him. Anna put her hand on his shoulder as she said "I think that we need to tell Abbey to go home right now. I think that would be the best" Niko on the other hand replied back with "No, I have to tell her what happened. I owe her that much" as then Niko went to the other room where Abbey was sitting at.

Niko looked at her as he said "Abbey I have to explain something to you, and I don't want you to judge me." Abbey only looked up at him as she said "Well I'm listening" as then Niko started to tell Abbey only what he could have remembered from his past. Abbey listens to everything that Niko was saying from when he was a child and how he lost his father; to when he was 12 and how he became cursed and lost his mother or so it seemed. Niko looked at her as he said "So what do you think, you think that I'm crazy don't you" as then something shocked Niko when Abbey got up and went over to him and kissed him. The next thing that happed was that Niko sneaked his arms around her waist and deepen the kiss even more. Abbey closed her eyes as Niko had deepened their kiss as then Anna came in as she said "Niko did you . . . oh my Niko" as then they both released from their kiss as they both looked at each other oddly. Anna looked at Abbey as she said "I'm sorry my dear, but we think that it would be safer if you headed home". As then Olaf came in as he said "I'm sorry my lady, but there's a blizzard out there." Anna looked back at them and at Niko as he only shrugged which only made them wondered even more of who was doing this.

Meanwhile back at Abbey's house; Abbey's father was walking around wondering where his daughter went when a strange woman appeared in front of him. Abbey's father called her out "Who are you and what do you want?" As then the lady came into view as she said "So your Abbey Bombable's father, wont she be sad when she comes home to see you dead. Don't worry I'll make this quick and painless." As then the lady had a sword appear in her hands and ran straight through Abbey's father as he screamed in agony when he looked up as he said "My daughter will never be a part of this so called plan of yours or that so called demon that you work for." The lady bends down as she whispered in his ear "It's already too late my dear Yeti." Abbey's father pasted out from the loss of blood and died right there in his house. As then the lady spoke in ear piece "Yes target is dead, do you want me to go after her now. I see, yes I'll come back" as then the lady disappeared from Abbey's house with leaving the horror in her wake.

After the blizzard started to clear up Abbey started to walk back home with Niko escorting her; as they got up to her home Niko looked up to her as he said "Well I guess I should let you go in your house right now." As then Abbey toke Niko's hand as she replied with "I just want to thank you for walking me home, and" Niko took Abbey's hand and kissed it as he said "I'll see you tomorrow, and good night dear Abbey." As Niko was starting to walk away from Abbey; Abbey went inside to her house as she looked around as if there was something was wrong. All of the sudden Abbey stepped in some kind of liquid that was colored blue blood. Abbey looked down to see that her father lying on the floor; Abbey screamed out in pain and horror as she grasped her side and fell to the floor. That is when Niko appeared in front of Abbey as whispered out "What happened" sadly Abbey couldn't hear anything from Niko as she started to pass out from the pain of her loss of her father. Niko picked up Abbey up as they both left Abbey's house and back to his house. That is when Anna looked at him as she said "What happened I thought you were going to take Abbey home." Niko looked up at his aunt as he said "Something happened at Abbey's house, but Abbey passed out even before I could even get a word out of her. I'm going to put her to bed and then I'm going to get some rest." Anna only smiled as she watched her nephew take Abbey to one of the rooms.
