Chapter 36 Moving In
Cold Aldhard steel clashed against each other in a blinding rate as a silvery black chakra blade clashed against a sword. The chakra blade looked from the outside to be a pair of brass knuckles with a long knife coming out of the bottom. Naruto looked down at the weapons in his hands, Tenten had outdone herself, and the blade was perfectly formed to his hand.
"Stop looking at your weapon dead last." laughed Sasuke as pulled back his own katana, like Naruto's chakra blade the sword was made out of Aldhard steal forged by Tenten herself. The sword as was colored a dark silver with a silver hilt.
"Maybe if you stopped running your mouth it would be for the best." laughed Naruto back as he pulled one of his arms back and tried to slash at Sasuke only to miss by inches as Sasuke jumped back his feet digging into the compacted dirt of the training field.
"Don't you have a meeting or something to get to?" asked Sasuke as the two of them began to circle around each other like two wolves eyeing each other as they fought for dominance.
"Not much to do today since the house isn't ready. Ino is having a meeting with land owners and business leaders on the main land and Sakura headed toward the hot springs." reported Naruto as he kept his eyes on Sasuke, in the distance he could hear the sound of wood hitting each other. The sound meant that another group was using one of the other training fields nearby and using the wooden weapons that they were supposed to. Both Naruto and Sasuke knew that Aldhard blades could cut through anything. Months ago everyone had seen when Tenten brought the first test kunai into the tent, she had dropped it onto a simple oak table they were using for their meeting. The kunai had gone four inches into the hardwood just by dropping it, a regular kunai would maybe go in a small amount only to fall over.
"What about you? How is Karin and Tamaki doing?" inquired Naruto
"Decent, they are keep whispering about something I think they are planning something." reported Sasuke before smiling "However the last time they planned something it was a very enjoyable night."
Naruto couldn't help but laugh a bit.
"Well Sakura and Ino have been whispering to and they said something about a package that Tsunade gave them." explained Naruto as he remembered walking into the tent while the two of them where talking. "Sakura-chan is already predicting that in nine months from now there will be a spike in births."
"Well so far the only new members of our village born where people who was already pregnant when the demons joined with us." reported Sasuke as he smirked a bit "I guess we will both find out in a few days."
"How is the ANBU core coming along?" inquired Naruto to the head of the ANBU core.
"On track, I plan to start doing some tests next week to decide who will lead different teams." Reported Sasuke as Naruto nodded his head understanding that different villages had different requirements for who led ANBU teams. Some was focus just on combat while others on certain skills.
"Tenten told me you haven't ordered any Aldhard lined ANBU masks?" asked Naruto as Sasuke shrugged.
"I always found having masked ANBU pointless I mean how often have you looked at an ANBU and knew who it was even if they are masked?" stated Sasuke "Besides all ANBU wear black jonin jacket now so it is pointless to have them also wear masks."
"I see." Reported Naruto as he glanced down at his own black jonin jacket, all the different branches now wore different colored jackets based on their duty in the field. Only general jonin and chunin wore green anymore, even Naruto's black vest was lined with some gold marking him as a high ranking ninja and Sasuke had silver on his vest marking him as an officer.
Suddenly a young boy dressed in green chunin vest rushed into the clearing causing Naruto and Sasuke to look at him.
"Lord Naruto." stated the boy "Your house is finished."
"Thanks." confirmed Naruto as the massager ran off as Naruto lowered his chakra blades before putting them into the small Aldhard lined pouch on his hip. "Looks like I am going to spend the rest of the day moving in."
"Fun, I remember when we moved into our place. I had to do almost all the lifting while Karin and Tamaki talked about placement of everything down to picture frames." stated Sasuke as he put his own sword away. "Also you really need to come up with an official Kage title because Lord is just stupid."
"Well the naming of the village happens during the founding festival." Explained Naruto as he pulled a small canteen full of water from a clip on his black belt with that he took a big drink, as the water ran down the small stubbles of a beard which had been trying to grow but so far failing. "We can think of a Kage name after that."
At the same moment Ino sat looking out of the massive glass window at the busy street below, people below here where rushing around the new market with smiles on their faces. The transformation was nothing short of amazing, just six months ago most of the people who were moving through the cobblestone streets had next to nothing. They lived in houses that wouldn't be fit for farm animals to live in, they now lived in houses that they made out of stones cut from the granite mines and bricks with Aldhard reinforced beams. Only a few had running water and electricity now all of them had both warm and cold water coming from their taps and electricity whenever they flipped a switched. Six months ago the poorest children among them would have to dig through trash to get a meal, now those same children ran around with candy apples in their hands. Ino couldn't help but smile at all the work they had done but there was still a lot work to do. Buildings still needed to be finished on the inside, the bridge and outer wall still had to be constructed and the parks had nothing but grass.
She turned her head toward the right where in the remains of an abounded granite mine, the entire mine now had a roof over it and from the outside it looked like a giant one story high building but in reality it went deep down into the earth. In that building six giant furnaces was forging untold numbers of Aldhard items, military uniforms, weapons, steal building beams and pure Aldhard blocks which would be used to make the defense where being built there.
She turned her head toward the left where the abounded remains of the old Nadeje, the entire city had been cleaned out of anything important so that only the empty buildings remained. The remains was now nothing more than a ghost town and an eye shore. The only area where any activity was still happening was along the coast where the port was full of ships unloading goods and even a few loading up with the granite stones which were heading North.
"So what are we going to do with the remains of the old city?" inquired the newly elected mayor of Nadeje, he was a bald man but the lack of hair on the top of his head was made up for with the long curly black bread which ran past his neck.
"I don't know for sure." Reported Ino as she looked at the remains of the city, not even turning back to look at the city council or the other minor land owners who were at the meeting with her.
"We need the land if we plan to expand the port." Offered up one of the only two jinchuriki in the room with her, Samui "It would be best if we find the cheapest way to do it as well."
"Burn it." offered up a woman as Ino looked at her, behind her everyone sat around a large granite table. "Most of it is wood and wood burns, we would have to keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn't get out of control but it would clear the land fast."
"I like it." confirmed Ino "How do you think the people would like that?"
"Most would find it fitting." confirmed the mayor
"However this isn't taking into the effect the major problem facing this nation, we are importing more than we are exporting." stated a lower land owner
"We have almost full employment now don't we?" inquired Ino
"Yes, building the bridge and the villages but what happens when they are done?" asked Samui "We can't ship out the Aldhard unless we want all eyes looking at us, we need to find something else to balance the trade so we aren't just shipping gold north to Bronze country to pay for everything."
"We could strike a deal with leaders of the land Bronze." stated another lower land owner "They have been looking for a long time to find a country which would take in all the toxic waste they make from their factories. I have heard they are running out a room to store everything."
"That is true." stated Temari as Ino turned her gaze to her friend "When we were traveling down the eastern coast of the Land of Bronze on our way back from Wind country we saw fields of storage towers some of which were over a hundred feet tall and overflowing."
"You want to bring in toxic waste and do what with it?" snapped the mayor "That is more a danger then running out of gold to our people. What happens if that gets into the water supply or onto a field full of crops?"
"Also we would run into the same problem they have in the Land of Granite, no room to store it all and if we take land to store the waste then lose a field full of crops." Stated another land owner
"Think about how much money we could make from it?" stated a member of the village council "And with Aldhard storage containers we could store them safely."
"Maybe there is a better way." stated Ino before turning toward Temari "Amatersu burns everything correct, nothing is left?"
"Most are burned into nothingness within seconds, which is why we are using a small Aldhard lined pit to burn all the trash from both villages." confirmed Temari as she looked at her friend "Your thinking of burning the toxic waste from the Land of Granite using Amatersu?"
"You want to burn toxic waste why not dump it right into the water supply?" asked the mayor
"Amatersu burns at over 4,000 degrees it should destroyed everything and work safety." Reported Temari
"Let's give it a test run first see how it works." ordered Ino as she rubbed her temples, today we was supposed to be moving into her, Sakura's and Naruto's new house but instead she was having this meeting "Now I have arranged to have a video meeting with the Daimyo of the Land of Wind in order to get Mineral and fishing rights for the Land of Meteors which he controls and then we can use the Silver Death there to make Aldhard before we use the supplies we have here."
"Why don't we use what we have here first, we have flooded mines we can reopen if we do that. Putting people to work." stated an aid
"Because once the ninja nations learn where we are they will go to war and with the navy that Kirigakure has we could be placed under a blockage." Stated Temari "We would rather use the supplies outside our lands before that happens so we have more here if we need it."
"Very well." stated the aid
"Don't worry people will be busy enough making the defenses we need to defend ourselves." added a land owner "Now we are also worried about this summit you hosting between five of the six factions of samurai from the land of Animals, it is a major risk having them all here."
"We are trying to bring peace for our neighbors." explained Temari as a knock at the door caused everyone to look up as an aid walked into the room.
"Sorry to disturb you Lady Daimyo but a message from the other village, your new home is ready." Reported the aid as Ino smiled as she stood up.
"Gentlemen, ladies I thank you all for coming today but I have to end our meeting early I have a house to move into." reported Ino with a smile knowing that it took at least a half hour for her to cross to get back home.
"No problem Lady Daimyo." confirmed the mayor as Ino walked out of the meeting room. She tried not to run down the marble staircase like a kid running down the stairs on Christmas morning but it was hard not to as he mind turned to new house. She walked past multiple people as she exited the government building in the center of town and headed straight toward the bridge construction site which would allow her to cross and enter the island. Once she was on the island she could break out into a run.
While Ino was running as fast as she could to get to her new home, the former Hokage of the hidden Leaf village sat by her rather large window in the long term apartment she was renting in the casino. She held a drink in her hands as she looked at the plate of food in front of her. She had been in the casino hotel for six months now and during that whole time the gentlemen who had followed her from the Land of Fire had only left three times and had been replaced each time by people she knew to be either former or current Leaf ANBU.
"I bet they are busy filling out countless reports about my actions." thought Tsunade as she laughed to herself as she remembered how she spent about fifteen minutes talking with some woman from wave about the weather while she ate at one of the casino restaurants for lunch. "They probably had to follow her to make sure I wasn't making contact with Naruto and the others. That would be another two page report maybe I should talk to more people just so I can flood the New Hokage with paperwork."
A knock at the door caused Tsunade to look up from her drink.
"Its unlocked." said Tsunade as the door opened as a short old woman walked in.
"Doctor Tsunade Mrs. Lecase is worried about her son." reported the old woman as Tsunade nodded her head.
"Tell her I am on my way." confirmed Tsunade as she finished her drink, one of the down sides of living rent and meal for free in a casino is working for a hypochondriac wife of the casino owner, who called for the doctor for a paper cut was being called in for everything. When she wasn't tending to the casino owner wife she took in multiple shows and enjoyed what to most would seem to be a long needed retirement when in fact she was buying her time as she waited until she learned where her loves one was. She spent at least two hours a day at the bar, not drinking but listening to the news that people brought in from every corner of the world, the news from the South mostly from the Land of Granite caught her attention multiple times but there was no way to know for sure and if she headed down to investigate it would lead the people following her right to them. So she waited for news.
Ino made record time as she ran down the tunnel passing more than a few people who looked at her slightly confused as to why she was running. Finally she passed over the large ditch which was being dug out for the bases of the massive walls which would go up to defend them. Finally she moved down one of the main streets until she reached her new home. She couldn't help but smile as she saw the looked up at the two storied building made out of white granite with wood ascendants around. Each floor had a balcony which wrapped around the entire building. It had a slanted metal roof which was currently being covered by multiple metal tiles. The front yard was small and at the moment nothing but dirt but she would fix that and she knew the back yard was big. Shikamaru had designed it himself so from above it took on the shape of a blocked U with another smaller building on top of the U to form a semi private inner courtyard. Quickly she moved through the red entrees door and entered the main hallway.
She couldn't help but smile as she looked down at the polished stone floor and the white walls. Stone floors would be as common as wood floors was back in the Leaf, they had more stones then they had wood. She looked to her right only to see several boxes sitting in what had to be the living room, with a stone fireplace at the end of the room. In front of her was a staircase which led upstairs and located right behind it was a staircase which lead downstairs to the basement.
"Ino we are in here!" yelled Sakura's voice from down the hallway as Ino walked down the hallway until she entered the kitchen only to find Sakura and Naruto both leaning against the kitchen island between the two of them was some takeout food sitting before them. She looked around the kitchen only to see that while the cabinets was in along the granite countertop there was no sign of any appliances not even a refrigerator.
"Where is everything?" asked Ino as she looked around at the empty rooms. "Where is the future and lighting features we ordered?"
"Still on the ships, will not be here until tomorrow." reported Naruto as he slurped up some noddle's as Ino moved toward them before leaning against the kitchen island.
"So another night on the ground for us tonight." Laughed Sakura "But at least we have a proper roof now."
"True." confirmed Ino as she grabbed some of the take out and poured herself a glass of wine from a bottle on the island, Sakura had wine in front of her while Naruto had a bottle of beer. "I guess I ran back here for nothing."
"No, we have a lot of painting to do." Confirmed Naruto as he looked into toward the corner of the room where a small mountain of paint cans sat along with brushes and rollers. "We have eight bedrooms, not counting the two master bedrooms, four full size bathrooms, two living rooms and multiple other rooms to do."
"Great." groaned Ino as she began to wonder why there was so many rooms but then again she was the daimyo and Naruto the new Kage and sometime in the future there would be unknown number of children running up and down the hallways and there may someday be a third women in the house. "Well at least we have our own hot water showers, what?"
Ino simply looked at Naruto and Sakura who were just looking at each other, giving a knowing look.
"Well the hot water heater hasn't been fully installed yet so no hot water." reported Sakura as Ino groaned a bit.
"Now I really wish I hadn't ran here." complained Ino as Naruto and Sakura both laughed a bit before Ino glared at both of them. "The hot water heater works doesn't it?"
"Yes." Confirmed Naruto with a smile which warmed Ino's and Sakura's hearts.
"Sometimes I really hate both of you." reported Ino as suddenly her white cat Isis jumped onto the counter grabbing a piece of fish straight from Naruto's paper plate. All of Ino's anger left her as she broke out into deep laugh.
Hours later it was nearing midnight as a lone figure dressed in brown and carrying a large bag over his shoulder neared a small one story house near the edge of the new village that the demons where building. The figure had deep brown coat lined with fur and totting beside him was a massive dog as he neared the door it opened only to reveal a single man standing there in trench coat.
"Welcome back Kiba, how was your time in the woods?" inquired Shino as he turned his sun glassed eyes toward his friend's face. He hadn't seen Kiba in almost six months since he went up into the mountains of the Land of Granite in an attempt to locate a pack of wolves which could be trained to be used by the new ninja forces. Kiba now had a few marks on his face and while Naruto had failed to grow a beard Kiba had no problem. A thick deep brown heard had grown in along with his hair so he looked more like an animal then a man.
"I am not looking forward to going back but with winter coming I had to come back for supplies." explained Kiba "And since they don't have a house for me or any hotels can I crash with you?"
"Of course." welcomed Shino as Kiba walked the house only to see a three house, however he knew Shino better than that.
"You built this like your clan's homes back at the Leaf didn't you?" inquired Kiba as Shino nodded his head. The Aburame clan was known for their simple looking house from the outside only to hid most of the house underground maybe it had to do with the insects that lived inside their bodies but their houses was modeled after ant colonies. Multiple floors and tunnels which linked underground rooms and even joined houses together.
"Yes, you can stay on the first floor while we are in the master on the 7th floor." stated Shino as he lifted a hidden floor panel only to reveal the staircase which lead down into his underground home.
"We?" asked Kiba as suddenly a blue and black spider about the size of a small cat crawled out of the opening before making its way out yet another hidden door and into the yard.
"Yes, I have started seeing this lovely woman named Arana Zirnek, last of her clan from the Land of waves." Stated Shino as Kiba blinked at the news that his friend was seeing anyone. "A most interesting woman and the last of her clan by the way, turns out that we have similar interest."
"I can see that." said Kiba as another large pure yellow spider this one about the size of a small dog moved up from the deeper in the house. He tried not to flinch, he could stand almost any kind of bug but spiders was the one thing that creped him out.
"Yes, she can control and communicate with spiders and I contain insects within me." Stated Shino as the two of them and Akamaru walked down into a living room. Shino walked over and moved a sliding wall only to show a small one person bedroom with a small bathroom and shower attached.
"Feel free to shower and you may want to shave as well." Offered Shino as Kiba walked into the room rubbing his chin feeling the beard as he went.
"Yes, I could use a shave. Mirrors aren't really that common in the woods and without one I would likely cut myself badly. Blood makes wolves hungry and I don't want to deal with a hungry wolf pack in the middle of the night." Reported Kiba as he turned around only to see that Shino had disappeared behind an unknown hidden panel. Kiba just shrugged a bit before moving to take his first hot shower in six months he couldn't help but laugh, Shino had finally found a girl.
