Zoey, JP, and Bokomon were all wondering why Serena was being so quiet at least until Tokomon told them what had happened on the Island of Toys. They let Neemon, Tokomon, Takuya, and Tommy pull ahead of them and then Zoey levels Koji with a nasty glare, " What the hell is your problem, she had just started opening up to us and you go and pull a dick move like that. Asino( Jackass). "

JP had never looked as imposing as he did in that moment, " Not everyone has a perfect cushy life. You think you're the only one to ever suffer, Grow up, Koji. "

She was a Kanbara, dammit, Kanbaras were very open and sunny dispositioned people. Takuya was very quick to catch his sister half an hour later when she swayed, " Bokomon, is there any food nearby, imooto needs food now. "

" That apple by Zoey's feet tells me there is a Meat Apple Tree nearby. Set up camp and we shall endeavor to find the tree. " Bokomon says.

Tommy goes with Zoey, Bokomon, and Neemon to find the tree while Koji and JP set up camp. Takuya leans back against a tree after getting his little sister comfortable, Tokomon on his head again, " She all right? "

Out in the forest near the Meat Apple Tree Tommy hears something briefly before rejoining the others and taking their haul back. Once they set the apples to cooking after JP and Neemon bite into them raw Takuya explains what he had learned about the Beast Spirits. " In other words we're only halfway there, right? " Zoey says.

" Yeah, it's also the job of the Beast Spirits to test their wielders. " Takuya adds.

" Shit, that could get nasty, couldn't it? " JP muses aloud.

Takuya sighs and translates what she said, then she snaps his goggles at the same time Neemon tries to get everyone's attention and Takuya quickly lashes out with his power over Flames and heat to cool the apples down before they burned. Takuya feeds his little sister her first apple and the girl tunes out as to whatever flavors the others got. JP had gotten the hang of lighting up his fist and forming ball lightning as a way to deal with the dark. Zoey was to the point that she could levitate herself for a little bit, Tommy could drop the temperature around himself as well. Only Koji hadn't been working on harnessing his element outside of combat.

Once Serena has eaten her fill she looks around her surroundings but never leaves her brother. That was when the trees came to life and Serena sighs, she never wanted to see her world again, specifically Juuban, she hated it there yet she knew she needed to be there. The only reason she even continued to live was for Takuya because of Takuya. He gave her the strength to keep going even though she was treated like garbage. If not for her loving big brother she probably would have already attempted to end her life. She looks at the tree showing Tommy's mother and misses Yuriko, her step-mother, the woman whom had raised her for the first four years of her life, whom welcomed her with open arms. On the inverse there was Kenji whom hated her passionately, her own mother had wanted to abort her, and her maternal half-brother treated her like pond scum.

Serena loved Shinya as he actually treated her decently. She hated her maternal family and if not for the love she received from her paternal one she might have already committed several heinous acts. Instead she had the love of her brothers, father, and step-mother to pit against the bad times. Due to her introspection she never sensed the danger. While in his waking nightmare state Tommy went after everyone as opposed to Serena that went after Koji only, her anger a near palpable force in the air. She was damn close to recreating KI or killing intent from Naruto. While Takuya deals with Tapirmon Koji finds himself needing every bit of his martial arts skills to evade the ten year old.

" Takuya, a little help here! " Koji calls out after Takuya frees Tapirmon from Cherubimon's control.

Tommy's eyes widen, " Is that what happened to me? "

" Yes, it is, Tommy, but why hasn't Serena snapped out of it yet? " Zoey answers.

Takuya was quick to end his evolution and he slips into French, "Petite sœur, me en sortir, se il vous plait( Little sis, snap out of it, please). "

Dull chocolate eyes meet his own and Takuya keeps talking, " Vous n'êtes pas seul, vous ne serez jamais aussi longtemps que vous avez de moi, ma mère, notre petit frère, et mon père, reviens à moi, petite sœur(You're not alone, you never will be as long as you have me, my mom, our little brother, and dad, come back to me, little sis). "

She pitches forward and Takuya catches her, murmuring, " Je te aime, petite sœur( I love you, little sis). "

Only Bokomon and Neemon notice Koji slip away after they're all asleep and go with him, leaving a note behind.

Takuya leads them well away from the mansion, like hell he was going to let them get caught by such an amateurish trap. Candlemon was hopping alongside his partner and Muchomon, whom he basically considered to be her partner as well. Gaomon was sticking close to Tommy though he would talk to Gabumon. Betamon and Gomamon got along fantastically as they had both been Bukamon previously. Leomon was sticking with them as he was tasked with protecting the Digidestines by Lord Azulongmon. Of course, he had no way of knowing that Takuya, Tommy, and Serena were just waiting for an opportunity to rip into the Celestials for creating the Sovereigns.

" What's next on the agenda? " Matt asks.

" We find the head boss on this island and kick his sorry ass. " Tai states.

" Yeah, but he's only a mini boss. We have to take out the main threat in order to truly get the job done. " Takuya points out to the rookies destines.

" In essence this is somewhat like a video game where you have to go through several levels, correct? " Izzy analyzes.

" That is a good way to put it. Lucemon was our final bad guy. Stands to reason that we'll have to deal with several insanely powerful evil digimon this time around as well. " Serena states firmly.

" Why us? " Matt asks.

" Because each of us has a quality that Digiworld needs in order to be saved, if you couldn't handle it you wouldn't be here, simple as that. " Takuya says softly.

Serena and Tommy both snap to attention and tackle the only other girls of the group out of the way of a Snimon's Twin Sickles attack, " Fist of the Beast King! "

" Biyomon digivolve to…Birdramon! Meteor Wing! "

" Tentomon digivolve to…Kabuterimon! Electro Shocker! "

The two fliers take the fight to Snimon while Leomon remains on alert, " Thanks, Serena, Tommy. " Sora says.

" Yes, thank you. " Mimi adds on.

Serena rolls her eyes, " This is why you need to be aware of your surroundings. "

Takuya chuckles, " Imooto has a point. "

" Give up the children. " Snimon says.

Takuya quickly aims his second digivice at Snimon, Matt and Joe seconds behind him. Snimon screams as the black gears are forced to leave his body. He retreats and Takuya quickly makes food for Biyomon and Tentomon. The digimon wolf it down and Takuya gives Leomon a Meat Apple as well. " We all need to be at our best. "

Leomon nods and eats it, the Flame Warrior was right, they did need to be at their best.

Devimon's Hideout:

Devimon curses long and loud, those Warrior's instincts were too refined, he could have been rid of two Digidestined if not for them. What the hell did it take to kill them all off anyhow? With the Warriors he knew it was going to be hard, they beat Lucemon after all. The newbies however should be easy pickings except for the fact that they had the Warriors to protect them. Grumblemon, back when he still worked for Cherubimon and was evil, had tried separating the children and it hadn't worked. He'd need to get creative.

Center:

Lord Fanglongmon smirks, the carriers of Tenacity, which was Serena, Resolve would be Takuya, and Compassion would be Tommy were just what this world needed. Even he agreed that the sovereigns should never have been created. He was created at the same time as the Celestials and he rarely interfered with the choosing of children. Serena Kanbara was at risk though and he always chose the at risk children. Takuya and Tommy were her most precious people with Koichi, the child of Darkness coming in just behind them and tying with Osaka Molly.
