Chapter 38 Singing and Dancing part 1
The village was a rush of activity as people started setting up the food stands for the massive founding ceremony party which would kick off around sunset, however people wasn't waiting for sundown to start celebrating they had already started. Even as the streets where filling up with people enjoying the street festival Naruto along with the other members of the leadership meet in the new council meeting hall in the central government complex.
"Alright since we aren't going to meet tomorrow let's make this meeting a good one." ordered Naruto as he sat at the head of a 14 sided white granite table which looked more like a circle than anything else. Cut into the hardened stone was the new symbol of their village which would revealed to all later tonight at the founding ceremony.
"So any news from the North?" inquired Naruto as he turned his head directly to his left where Shino sat leaning back a bit in his chair.
"Multiple reports of battles between different factions in the Lightening civil war, there are even reports of ninja forces from the Leaf being attacked. There are also reports of rogue mercenary ninjas who fought for Madara tearing up the country side in the Land of Lightening, I estimate that their current military strength of Kumogakure is down to around 65% of their total strength." Reported the spy master Shino "The rest of the world ninja forces are being used to search the mountain valleys in the Land of Earth and even up into the land of Ice looking for us. It will take those years to search all of the valleys there."
"They think we moved into the frozen wastelands of land of Ice?" asked Ino as she sat in the Daimyo's chair across from Naruto. "No offense but I would rather stay in the Leaf then go to that frozen wasteland."
"It is the single largest single nation on earth even it if it is mostly sheets of Ice." stated Temari "However I am more interested in this offer from the Wind Daimyo to sell us the Land of Meteors."
"It would give us an almost unlimited supply of the silver death which is 50% of the material needed for making Aldhard." offered Tenten as she sat at her own position around the table "Not to mention there could be some unknown minerals on those islands, more supplies of Gold or Silver for example."
"They will likely want to sell it to us for 150 million dollars or so worth of gold, we have more than enough to pay for it but we shouldn't take them up on their first offer." Stated Samui as the head of the finance looked down at a piece of paper which told her about the current currency reserves they had, the number had been dropping for months but they had just reopened the gold mines and had started pulling out more. "We should offer them 100 million or so and then see if we can settle around 130 or 135."
"If we have the Gold why not just pay their starting price?" asked Naruto
"If we take them up on their first offer it would raise a lot of questions on where we got all the gold." explained Samui
"We could tell them the truth and tell them we found some gold mines in the country, it would explain why we bought the country in the first place." Offered up Temari before she placed her and under her chin "However that may cause people to come down to invest in gold mines and that may lead to our discovery."
"Better not we don't want a bunch of people coming down from the North and discovering us until we are ready to defend ourselves." stated Shikamaru as Temari nodded her head in agreement. "I estimate at least three years until our defenses are up to my lowest standards."
"I am more worried about bringing the land of Meteor under our control aren't they in a state of war anyhow?" asked Hinata "We are just setting the laws here into place, I would rather not have to deal with a civil war."
"It really isn't in a civil war." stated Shino as he corrected his teammate "See only a handful of islands are livable and they are near the land of Animals and the population there has been brought into the samurai civil war in that nation but they are not part of that nation."
"Aren't we holding a peace conference with them?" inquired Sakura as she sat in her spot, there wasn't anything medical to report so she was here just to listen.
"Next month." reported Sasuke "We should just side with one of them and beat the others into submission, would provide a lot of training for our own forces."
"You will get your fight in any way, we aren't inviting the dominate samurai clan." reported Naruto as he looked at Sasuke. "We plan to bring the other five groups into a single alliance and then beat the strongest alliance."
"Why not join with the strongest alliance?" inquired Kiba who was sitting in one of the guest spots around the table. Wiggling a little bit knowing that he had no place at this table, he was only here because he had to make a report and most of his friends sat around the table. Then again it may have not been the chair that had made him uncomfortable but the lack of sleep, he had woken up multiple times to find a spider, even larger than the last one moving around his room.
"I have to find a new place to sleep until I go back into the wild." thought Kiba as he tried not to remember the sight of multiple spiders moving past him without a care in the world "Or else I will not get a good night sleep."
"I do not understand how Shino can deal with all those spiders, don't spiders eat bugs?" inquired Kano as the white demon wolf inside Kiba asked the man he was joined to.
"If I know Shino as well as I think I do, he is trying to change over from his bugs to spiders." Explained Kiba "Shino was never really one for romance of any kind but I could see him marrying someone to improve his clan's ability, spiders eat bugs."
"The main group which holds around 47% of the land of Animals are close allies with the Samurai of the Land of Iron and they would sell us out." explained Kiba's former teammate Shino. "We need the other sides namely we need the White Ravens and the Black Ravens clans to reunite. If we can get the Golden Phoenix Clan, Green Sea Dragons tribes and Shadow Swords then all the better."
"I admit I have never heard of any of those groups before." admitted Temari "But then Samurai clans was never my specialty."
"I have." reported Kakashi "Well the Shadow Swords at least and we shouldn't really call them samurai, because they have more in common with ninjas then they do samurai."
"How do you know them?" inquired Naruto as Kakashi leaned back a bit in his chair.
"The shadow swords are a group of assassin's and spies but unlike ninja they can't or will not use chakra." explained Kakashi as the most senior man at the table informed the younger generation "It had been decades since they did any actions north of the land of Savanna's that we knew about."
"Kind of like Lee?" inquired Neji as Kakashi nodded his head.
"I wouldn't be surprised if Guy got a lot of Lee's training from them however unlike Lee, the Shadow Swords are without question the best sword and blade fighters in the world." reported Kakashi "Minato-sensei told me that once when he was a young jonin he fought against one of their members while on a mission in Wind Country. He said it was the nearest he ever came to dyeing, as he put it the Shadow Sword member's blade actually cut his throat but not deep enough to do any real harm."
Naruto's eyes widened as he rubbed the stubble of a beard which took him almost three months to grow. He was no medical ninja but he knew that it didn't take a deep cut to the throat to kill.
"Looks like you were almost not here." laughed the Kyuubi as Naruto rubbed his neck in the spot where his dad must have been cut by some unknown blade.
"Kiba any luck on finding a wolf pack you can train?" inquired Naruto wanting to change the subject.
"I found two or three packs that meet our needs, getting them to understand you and trust you are a different thing." reported Kiba as he crossed his arms over his chest.
"You can talk to them?" asked Samui as she raised an eyebrow at talking to dogs.
"Part of my clan's technique is the ability to speak to our dogs and when you get down to it wolves are not the different then dogs." explained Kiba "At least when it comes to speaking to them but that is where it ends."
"So any hopes of training them?" inquired Hinata with a warm smile at her teammate.
"Training them will not be hard they are very intelligent but getting them to trust humans is the hard part." reported Kiba "Maybe when I return to the packs and give them food in the winter they may come to trust me."
"Whatever you need you can have." reported Naruto as he took a breath before looking up at the clock. "Looks like I have to get going."
"You are cutting off a meeting for a ceremony because of some stupid tradition?" Laughed Sasuke as he leaned back in his chair, all of them knew that whenever a new Kage was named in the Land of Earth, Water or lightening that the Kage had to spend a few hours in prayer at a shrine. Naruto had agreed to do a similar thing even though it wasn't a tradition in the Land of Fire.
Within the hour Naruto was walking up a staircase cut into the side of mountain up toward a newly built religious shrine located near the top of one of the large hills. The shrine had been cut into the hill and from this location Naruto could look out and see the hidden bay directly below the shrine and the rest of the valley with the city in the center to his left. The shrine wasn't much, Naruto had seen larger road side shrines when he was training with Jiraiya.
"Jiraiya…what he think about me now?" thought Naruto as he sat down and looked out over the valley. He could see carts full of people from the human village coming over for the celebration even though there was another founding celebration going on in their own village. "I am going to be a Kage of a new village."
"He would probably be more interested in the fact that you are sleeping with two vixens." reported Kyuubi "He always thought first with his manhood. However he would still be proud of you."
"I am not sure about that." rebutted Naruto sadly "I know some day I will have to fight against the Leaf."
"There is nothing that can be done about that, you would have been second class citizens if citizens at all if you had stayed in the Leaf." reported the Kyuubi "Look out over this valley. Look at the fields of golden grain and the children playing in the water below us. Look at the village you built up in six months, this is your home now, your nation and when we become Kage tonight it will be our job to defend them. Most of all you have to defend your mates and your love ones."
Naruto took a deep breath as he let his mind turn to Ino and Sakura, he knew that the two of them where likely back home getting ready for tonight. He couldn't wait to see them when he was sworn in as the Kage of their new nation on the steps of the government building in the center of their village.
While Naruto thought about Ino and Sakura, the two of them were walking into the house.
"So do you want to use the shower first or should I?" asked Ino as Sakura closed the door behind them locking the door.
"We have three hours to get ready so there is no need to rush. There are no need to rush." confirmed Sakura as she placed her keys down on a small door side table. "But if you feel that you must use every single moment to get ready you can go first."
Ino laughed a bit as Sakura smiled at her, Ino smiled back before tilting her head slightly.
"What is that?" asked Ino as Sakura looked to the table side only to see two small boxes sitting on the table right next to Sakura's hands. One of the boxes was red and the other was purple each wrapped in a simple ribbon. Each one of them had Sakura's and Ino's name on it.
"My guess it is for us." confirmed Sakura as she picked up the red one with her name on it, Ino walked down and picked up her box. Before Sakura could say anything Ino removed the ribbon only to open the box.
"Oh…my God." Whispered Ino as she looked down at the item in the box, quickly Sakura opened her box.
"We will have to do something extra special tonight for him." Reported Sakura as Ino nodded her head.
"And they will work perfectly with Tsunade's gift." commented Ino
Flashback
The tent city was as busy since the arrival of the final group of refugees from the land of the Wind, people where rushing around settling in. Multiple meetings where taking place as people were assigned a spot in the tent city, however in one of the smaller meeting tent a group of women gathered.
"I haven't been back longer than 24 hours and you drag me to a meeting without even telling me why?" inquired Temari as she sat down on the soft green grass as she looked around the tent, she was the last to arrive so all the female members of the Konoha 11 plus Karin, Rin, Shizune and Tamaki.
"Well I gathered you all here to give you all something." Explained Sakura as she handed out packages with everyone gathered around her, using the names written on the packages to make sure everyone got the one meant for them. "Lady Tsunade gave these to me before we left the Leaf and told me not to open it until we were all together."
"What is it?" asked Ino as she broke the seal on the paper only to stop as see that the package had been wrapped two times, once in a brown paper bundle and the second in a white wrapped with golden string. She stopped as she read the shop name on the seal, all around her everyone else was opening their packages stopping at the white wrapped bundle. Every one of the Leaf ninjas knew what the seal meant but none of them dared opened the sealed bundle.
"What does Kledi Custom Shop mean?" asked Tamaki as she read the label on the seal.
"Kledi Dress shop is the best shop in the Land of Fire, owned by an old woman who simply goes by Miss Kledi." Explained Ino "She is a master dress maker and only uses the best material, it would cost me a two months of my pay to get one of her simple dresses."
"Lady Tsunade wanted to do something special so she had Miss Kledi make custom dresses for all of you knowing that within a three months Naruto would be Hokage and you were all going to wear them for the Hokage ceremony." explained Shizune as everyone looked at her "Lady Tsunade sent me out to make the arrangements. A dress, shoes and everything else that is what is sealed inside. Miss Kledi must have been working around the clock to get dresses made for Rin and Tamaki."
"Well if these are custom jobs none of them are going to fit right, we didn't have any fitting." Stated Karin as Ino just laughed, as Karin raised an eyebrow.
"Miss Kledi is so good that she can make a perfectly fitting dress just using a photo." Explained Ino as she moved to open the box which held the sealed dress inside.
"Wait." Yelled Sakura as she grabbed Ino's hand, Ino's blue eyes snapped up to glare at her friend and lover. "Do you really want to open your dress here? Where would you put it?"
"Good point forehead." replied Ino with a smile before looking around everyone "Let's use these dresses on the boys whenever we have a founding ceremony for our new village?"
"Sounds like a plan to me." Confirmed Temari as everyone else nodded their heads in agreement.
End flashback
The streets where already packed with people with multiple people selling food and drink, multiple people were playing musical instruments or playing northern bands over large speaker systems. There was impromptu dancing in the street as young couples danced. One of the side effects of the attempt to save the demon race was that most of the 16,000 people were in their twenties and thirties was that there was a lot of people dancing. Moving past one of the dancing groups was Kiba, walking beside him was Akamaru. They moved around the massive circler ring plaza which ran around the central government building. They came to a stop in front of a large oak door with metal studs in it, he pushed it opened as he walked into the mostly empty bar. Even though the bar was mostly empty people were rushing around getting everything ready. Slowly Kiba walked up to the bar before sitting down on one of the stools.
"Don't you think it's a bit early for a drink?" inquired Karui as she walked toward him from behind the bar in a tight black top with lacing on the side, a slight v neck and a pair of tan pants.
"Marking my spot early once the founding ceremony and Naruto is sworn in this place is going to be a mad house." explained Kiba as Karui laughed a bit before pulling a bottle of beer from the ice cooler in front of her, she pulled out a bottle top opener out as if it was a kunai and opened the beer.
"This is still your brand correct?" inquired Karui as Kiba smiled as he lifted the beer to his lips.
"I see you have done a lot better since the last I saw you, you were selling beer out of your tent." Explained Kiba "Hell a lot of things have changed since I left, an entire village has gone up and you know what surprised me the most. It is that my best friend now has a live in girlfriend."
Karui laughed as she shook her head.
"That surprised you? There is three woman for every man and you're surprised that he has found someone." laughed Karui
"Well this woman has spiders and spiders tend to eat bugs." laughed Kiba as he remembered walking downstairs this morning to the kitchen to find Shino's new love Arana Zirnek standing over an oven cooking an egg. The woman was maybe a year or two older then him with curly black hair which went down to her neck, overall she was a six or a seven in his eyes. The creepy thing was the fact that sitting on her shoulder was a black tarantula sitting on her shoulder like some kind of bird, she feed the spider some food out of her hand. "Also I have to deal with those creepy things, since I am crashing with him."
"What you don't have a place?" inquired Karui "Your one of the Konoha 11 so I would think you would have a place?"
"Once I get the wolves to trust me yes, but until then why have a place when I will not be home for months at a time?" explained Kiba "Since there is no hotels I crash at Shino's."
"Well you can use one of my rooms." stated Karui as Kiba blinked. "I live above my bar and I had them put in some extra bedrooms so that drunks can sleep it off, you and your dog is welcomed to one of the rooms if you pay."
"A night without dog sized spiders' crawling around is worth any cost." Confirmed Kiba
"Well it will be load down here all night with drunk people." Explained Karui as Kiba laughed.
"And I'll likely be one of the loudest of those drunks." Laughed Kiba
Outside the village the sun was starting to go down as Naruto walked toward the edge of his village, he waited for a moment as he looked down the line where construction of the outer wall would begin in a few days. He turned his gaze away from what needed to be built to what had already been built. The streets where full of people who were dancing and socialization, around them was the stone and brick buildings which they had built.
"You ready for this dead last." stated a voice as Naruto looked over his shoulder to see Sasuke standing there dressed in a pair of deep navy blue and white dress robes with his clan seal on the back and the breast above the heart. Hanging from a red slash belt was a long and a short sword. Standing to the other side of Sasuke dressed in a similar outfit was Neji. Where Sasuke had navy blue almost black silk, Neji's was white with a tad bit of royal blue and a red slash. Naruto simply looked at the red and blue yin yang badge on Neji's chest. As the head of the ANBU core and the Jonin it was the duty of the two of them to escort Naruto to the government building.
"I changed by clan seal from a black and white yin yang to this since we are a new branch of the Hyuga clan." explained Neji sensing what Naruto was looking at. "Most of the new clans are modifying their original symbols for their new clan symbols."
"I didn't have that problem since I am the only member of my clan." Laughed Sasuke as Naruto looked down at himself, he only had on a simple black pair of ninja pants with a dark orange undershirt, with a black jonin vest over that. Suddenly the sound of a trumpet filled the air as the other music died away, within moments the central walkway was cleared as teams of ninjas dressed in their Aldhard uniforms.
"Here goes." thought Naruto as he started to walk down the road passing past the smiling people who stood behind the line of ninjas. As Naruto passed each ninja pulled a sword from their backs before placing it on their shoulder as he passed by them. After they passed them the ninjas put their swords away and moved in to close the gap as the crowed pushed forward to the central circle plaza around the government building. The moment seam to last forever as he walked toward the building, each step he took the crowd grew thicker, within moment's cheers and claps began to come from the crowd. Finally his long walk was over as he stood at the foot of the massive circular stepped which surrounded the circler government building which had a series of columns a hundred feet tall and a massive doom which towered almost a 300 feet off the valley floor. It was the crowning building in the village and by far the tallest. The massive stone walls where pure white granite with Aldhard steal support beams under everything.
Naruto began the long walk up the stone stairs toward a small platform. Fluttering in the early evening sunlight was the new flag of their village, the single white circle with four diamonds coming out of it at 45 degree angles with a navy blue background. It was the same symbol which the daimyo's had order them to wear to mark them as demons, now it belonged to them, it was their village flag, seal and soon it would be on their forehead protectors. However the flag was nearly as interesting as the line of people standing waiting for him. All his friends where gathered wearing their best cloths. Most of the men either wore traditional robes similar to Sasuke and Neji or military uniforms similar to his, however the women was totally different. Each one was dressed in a dress which seemed to fit them perfectly and made each one of them look radiant however his eyes focused on the two women standing near the center, for a moment his heart seamed to stop as he simply looked at the two smiling women.
Sakura stood slightly behind Ino, but stood out in a dress of red silk which was almost skin tight around the top before losing up past her waist, it was held up by a single slash over her right shoulder. The dress was cut up to the knee allowing her leg which had red fish net lacing over it stick out a bit. Sakura's pink hair was down to her shoulders and a pair of white earrings could be seen and a long golden bracelet was on her left hand.
"I have no idea where she got that dress, earrings or bracelet." thought Naruto as both of them smiled at each other "And I don't care."
"Looks like she is wearing your gift to her." added the Kyuubi as Naruto looked at the golden necklace which he had gold smith from the land of Earth make for him which now rested at her throat. It was a tight necklace golden with a large aquamarine stone inlayed in it. Aquamarine was Sakura's birthstone which is why he picked it for her. All the red and pinks of dress and her hair brought out her deep sea green eyes. For a moment the two of them just looked into each other eyes before Naruto turned his gaze away from Sakura and to the other women which dominated his heart.
Ino stood in front everyone else, as Daimyo it was her job to name him to the position of Kage but like Sakura she looked radiant. She wore a deep purple dress inlayed with silver, the side of the dress had some kind of floral pattern lace which was partly see through. Judging from how the two loops of the dress wrapped around her neck the dress had to be open back. Like Sakura she had a bracelet and earrings, however Ino's ear ring had what looked like diamonds and her bracelet was thin silver with diamonds in it. The blonde hair young daimyo had her hair pulled back into her classic pony tail. Hanging around her neck was a silver necklace with a blue sapphire birthstone surrounded by smaller diamonds.
"Naruto Uzumaki Namikaze." started Ino as she looked at him with a loving smile as Naruto went down on one knee in front of Ino. "You have proven yourself not only on the battlefield but off it as well, there is no one better to defend this village and her people."
Naruto lowered his head a bit as Sakura moved to stand to the right of him as Ino kept talking.
"Therefor as the Daimyo of the Land of Granite I Ino Yamamaka name you to defend the twin villages of Nadeji and Shimagakure." announced Ino as Sakura pulled out a silver and black kage robes before draping it over his shoulders, then she handed the kage hat to Ino, who gently placed it on Naruto's head. Then Sakura moved to stand beside Ino as both of them placed their hands on top of each other before offering them to Naruto, who took it. "Now rise as the first Onikage."
Well I hope you like this chapter, now as for the name of the new demon village if I used the online translator program correctly Shimagakure should basically mean the village hidden on the island just like Konohagakure means village hidden in the Leaves and Onikage means demon kage.
