Chapter 41 The Morning After
Both villages still where sound asleep as a lone figure moved through the docks outside of the human village of Nadeje in the land of granite. Even in the early morning hours long before the rays of the sun appeared in the sky there were people moving around down here. Most of them where either loading or unloading large metal shipping containers from the ships which were arriving in the harbor, the Land of Bronze to their North had started using their newly updated port to send out their goods making the once dead port alive with activity. As the figure moved under the street lights a man dressed in black suddenly appeared in front of him.
"Identify yourself." Ordered the man as the figure lowered his traveling cloak.
"It's me Sai." Reported Shino as Sai tilted his head a bit, as he looked at his friend. "However I must applaud you on being such a diligent head guard of the port."
"What are you doing here so early in the morning? I would imagine that you like most of the others are currently either hung over or sleeping with someone." stated Sai as he studied the man.
"My girlfriend doesn't believe in sex before marriage and I don't drink," explained Shino adjusting his sunglass that he wore even in the black of night "I half expected you to be out trying to find a girlfriend or girlfriends of yourself."
"I don't have any luck with women." explained Sai as Shino nodded his head knowing that Sai's first girlfriend Ino was now sleeping with best friend Naruto.
"I believed the same thing until I meet my girlfriend," added Shino
"If that is true why aren't you sleeping with her now," countered Sai
"I have important business down here tonight and like you I have a duty to do," explained Shino as Sai nodded his head "Will you walk with me; I have a meeting with captain who will have information from the North."
"Very well." Confirmed Sai as the two of them began to walk down the docks side by side.
"So how goes the construction at Black spear point?" asked Shino knowing that Sai had been given command of that project as well as command of the docks.
"All goes well, we are spreading a story among the ship captains that we are replacing the light house out there." reported Sai "It explains all the construction going on."
"Well we might as well build a lighthouse out there while we are at it." Reported Shino as the two of them stopped in front of a large cargo ship out of water country. "Now if you excuse me I must go meet the Captain."
"As you wish." confirmed Sai as he moved off to carry out his duty of defending the harbor.
The sun was getting high in the sky but the streets where still empty since most people where either sleeping off the alcohol they had drank the night before, or still coming down form the high of lovemaking. Slowly Ino Yamamaka opened her eyes as she looked around the mess of a bedroom, cloths where spread out all over the floor and candle wax was now stuck to the nightstand and other furniture. She rolled over only to see two of her three lovers resting sound asleep in each other arms. She could not help but smile at the sight of Hinata and Sakura sleeping in an embrace. Only Naruto was missing from their bed, she scanned the room but the only other living thing was her cat Isis looking back at her with silted eyes not unlike her own.
She did not say a word as she slipped out of bed moving across the room making sure not to wake up Hinata or Sakura; quickly she slipped on a simple purple blouse and black shorts. It was not anything special it was just her normal sleeping cloths. She moved out of the bedroom before heading downstairs and into the kitchen only to finally find Naruto leaning against the island in the center of the room. He was looking over a piece of paper all while cooking something in the oven behind him.
"Morning." greeted Ino as she sat down on a stool across from him.
"Have you seen the time?" laughed Naruto with a smile that caused her heart to quicken. "It's almost 1:30."
"Well then, we better have something to eat," laughed Ino as she looked toward the oven. "What are you making?"
"Not much just some fish." explained Naruto before looking back at the letter in his hand. "And sadly matters of state don't end because we spent the night in bed."
"Let's worry about matters of state later," stated Ino as she rubbed her temples a bit as she felt the hangover coming on "You just slept with three drop dead hot woman it is time to celebrate."
"Hung over Ino-chan?" laughed Naruto as he got a bottle of wine and poured her a large glass. "Maybe some of hair of the dog will help you."
"Thanks." confirmed Ino as she took the glass of wine out of Naruto's hands and took a deep long drink. "Well maybe since Hinata and Sakura are still asleep you should tell me about these affairs of state?"
"Well we have had three bits of news from the outside world," explained Naruto as he looked down at the piece of paper.
"The Wind Daimyo has given us his offer for the Land of Meteors," reported Naruto as the Onikage spoke to his Daimyo.
"How much?" asked Ino remembering that Samui believed they would want 150 million in gold for the land. Naruto's answer came in the form of a small laugh.
"The fool only wants 75 million for the whole nation," laughed Naruto as Ino joined him.
"That fool doesn't realize that he just gave us an almost unlimited amount of the raw materials needed to make Aldhard." Laughed Ino
"Well to him all that nation is are some uninhabited islands with poison gas pools and the few people who live there are in a war with the Land of Animals." explained Naruto
"Hopefully we are able to end that when we host that conference with the factions in the Land of Animals next month." offered up Ino as Naruto grinned a bit. "Let me guess the other news is about that?"
"Along with the representatives from five of the six factions in the samurai civil war representatives from the Land of Bronzes and Savannah are also coming to the conference." Reported Naruto as Ino nodded her head. "Are you thinking what I am thinking?"
"Not really remember I am more than slightly hung over." confirmed Ino as she drank her wine.
"That maybe we can form an alliance between the four our nations for whenever comes at us from the North," explained Naruto
"Make sense, Bronze has a lot of manufacturing power and Savannah has so much land that it would prove a huge barrier for any attacking army." confirmed Ino with a grin as Naruto laughed a bit realizing that even hung over Ino knew their situation. "I don't think the Land of Bronzes and Savannah will fight, they have next to no military and no natural barriers for protection like us and the Land of Animals however I am sure Temari and Shikamaru can think of a way to use them if they join us. What is the last thing?"
"Well we got some news from the Land of Fire," reported Naruto as Ino's head snapped up from her glass of wine "Multiple towns near the border with the Land of lightening where attacked last week by one or more of the factions in their civil war."
"Which means that the Leaf will have to respond by either sending troops to guard the boarder or an outright invasion." said Ino "I wonder what Hanabi will do?"
"She will attack." reported a new voice as Naruto and Ino looked up to see Hinata and Sakura standing in the doorway both dressed in shorts and tank tops. The two other woman sat down on the stools on the side of the kitchen island.
"she will attack?" asked Naruto as he looked into Hinata's pure white eyes, there was a thin light gray silted pupils while he put out four plates each with a piece of fish on it.
"She may seem calm on the outside but given a choice between either sitting still and waiting or attacking she will attack." explained Hinata as she recalled all the times they had spared against each other when they were children. Hanabi had always been the first one to attack and during the war she had always requested to be in the attacking force while Hinata had served in the scouting and recon teams.
"So the Leaf will go to war," commented Sakura as she took a bite of from her fish. "One some level I hope it lasts long but…"
"How some of our friends and family are still there and countless numbers of comrades in arms from the war." added Naruto as he played a little with his food thinking about how many people they had left behind in the Leaf.
"I hate to say this but there isn't anything we can do about that all we can do is focus on ourselves and the nation we are building down here." Said Ino as her thoughts turned to her mother far in the North.
Across the village, Sasuke Uchiha sat by a small empty koi pound, the coming winter had made it pointless to put fish in the pound. He knelt beside the pool dressed in his black day robes with a kunai in his hands. He cleaned the dark razor shard Aldhard steel weapon to a mirror finish until the sunlight bounced off the black steel. He checked the blade before placing it softly onto the white cloth beside him along with the others in his set.
"I can't wait to see what these things can do in combat," thought Sasuke
"It should be fun to see the face of the first idiot when this cuts through their own weapons," laughed the nine tailed demon fox within him Katsu. Sasuke grinned as he flipped the last kunai in the air before placing all of them away along with the cleaning supplies. Sasuke turned his eyes across the backyard toward the kitchen where Tamaki was in the middle of cooking on her meals. She had at two different pots going on the stove and something in the oven. She lifted the top off one of the pots and dumped in some herbs before going back to her cutting board to cut something Sasuke could not see.
"That's a chef for you cooking a three course meal for a late lunch," laughed Sasuke as he remembered how he used to live off energy bar and cook fire fish.
"Better get used to a lot of food." added Katsu "And we will have to work off all that food either in the battlefield or the bedroom."
Sasuke gave a rare smile as he looked to his left, there through the window he could see Karin slipping on a blouse, marks from where fingernails dug into her skin was clear on her back. He knew that he had the same marks on his back and he had multiple love bits on different parts of his body.
"Good thing I have two women to work with." confirmed Sasuke as he put this weapons away before standing up. He stepped over a small stone bridge that connected the island in the center of the pound where he had been to the main backyard. Slowly he walked across the bare ground before entering the kitchen through the sliding panel.
"What are you making Tamaki-chan?" inquired Sasuke as Tamaki smiled at him as he entered.
"I have some oven roasted herb chicken with noodles and some soup." explained Tamaki as she poured three bowls of soup making sure to place some herbs on top before placing the noodles down on the plate with the chicken on top the end result where three plate of food which could have come out a cooking magazine.
It was at that moment that Karin finally came out of the bedroom only to sit down in her seat at the kitchen table.
"Let's eat," said Tamaki with a smile as the three of them started eating.
The early afternoon sunlight was shining through a gap in the blinds in the darkened room, over the hours the sunlight had moved across the floor before finally reaching Kiba's face. The light caused him to open his eyes only to close them at once from a mixture of the sudden light and his throbbing head.
"I am so hung over," thought Kiba as he tried to think about how many drinks he had drunk the night before "I am never again combining shots with that many beers."
"Why do I have a feeling you have had this conversation before?" inquired Kano as the demon wolf laughed a bit however he was as hung over as Kiba. As Kiba closed his eyes his senses came back to him, he felt that he was lying on his side with his back against something that was hard but yet padded all the same.
"I am on a couch but wasn't I sleeping on a bed?" thought Kiba however it wouldn't be the first time he moved to another place while he was hung over, one time he had woken up sleeping in a bathtub when he had been sleeping on the couch. He felt something pressed up against him stretching out from his feet to his shoulder.
"Looks like Akamaru is sleeping with us again." stated Kano knowing that multiple times when they were in the field Akamaru had slept beside him to keep him warm. Finally, he opened his eyes expecting to see the white fur of Akamaru only to see a mess of red hair. His heart stopped as he lifted his head up only to see that it was not Akamaru who was sleeping beside him but Karui.
"Did I sleep with Karui?" thought Kiba but he quickly noticed that both of them where fully dressed and there was no after sex smell. Karui was sleeping on her side her body pressed against his as she snored softly with one arm wrapped around her stomach and the other stretched out until it rested on the glass coffee table. One of own hand was wrapped around her holding her close to him while she used the other as her pillow. Karui had only a pair of black short shorts on and a black tank top, while he had a white shirt with shorts on.
"Ok what happened?" asked Kano as Kiba closed his eyes as some images flashed in his mind, half broken hung over memories. The two of them had come back out some time during the night and had started drinking from Karui's personal supply before both of them fell back asleep. Kiba turned back to the sleeping woman wondering how he would get out of this situation without being slapped a crossed the face. His body began to betray him as his manhood began to harden pressing against her as he look down at her sleeping form. "Shit…Shit, no not here."
"Don't even think about it." came Karui's voice as Kiba's eyes widened as he realized she was awake.
"You're awake?" asked Kiba
"Well it's hard to sleep with that poking me in the back besides I woke up an hour ago anyhow." reported Karui as she sat up and stretched as Kiba eyed her.
"We didn't do anything did we?" asked Kiba trying to make sure.
"I don't think so." Answered Karui as she bent down to pick up an empty bottle of vodka, which had been full hours ago as Kiba's eyes locked on her ass. "But it you keep looking at my ass without my permission I will use this on you."
"Sorry, I didn't mean to." answered Kiba as Karui carried the bottle back to a kitchen as Karui dropped the bottle into the sink before getting a two bottles of water out, she tossed him the extra bottle never asked if he wanted it or not.
"You're a guy and I am a woman," answered Karui as she looked toward the bulge in Kiba's shorts with a grin as she opened her bottle of water. "Next time ask before you look."
