Chapter 71 Fire and Water

The sun was not even up yet and Kiba Inuzuka was already awake, he was lying in his bed back home the heavy wolf fur blanket was lying under them. It was too hot for the fur but he and Kauri had made a set of triplets on it already and while neither one of them wanted another one for a while, neither of them had taken it off either.

"Well if another kid does happen at least Kauri will be a full Inuzuka," thought Kiba as he looked down at the sleeping woman beside him. He had not officially asked her hand in marriage but she had been living in the Inuzuka clan house for years, she has placed his clan seal on her cloths and she had been teaching his clan Justus. All this meant he had no question what her answer would be, so he quickly rolled over and pulled a black ring box out of his night stand. He was about to open it and slip the ring on her finger and then wait to see her reaction when a hand grabbed his neck and pulled him on top of her.

"I have been waiting for you to grab that thing for a while," said Kauri with a grin as she looked at the ring box.

"So do I still have to ask?" inquired Kiba

"No, dumbass." said Kauri as using her other hand she slipped on a silver ring inlayed with imagines of wolves onto Kiba's finger. "Because I am asking you."

"You are a bitch sometimes." said Kiba as he kissed her neck right after he slipped on a smaller silver ring with the same wolves inlayed plus a diamond on Kauri finger.

"Of course I am but I am your bitch," moaned Kauri as Kiba placed love bites down her body. She was about to move this all along when a cry came from the nursery.

"Damn it." cursed both of them.

The morning Mist was heavy as it usually was in the Land of Water, but it was a special morning for Ao of Kirigakure. He stood just below deck on one of the few warships that his village had, most of the fleet had been destroyed off the coast of the Land of Granite. Besides the ships they had lost the death toll was extremely high with the fifth Mizukage Mei Terumi being the most singinant lost. In truth, she was still classified as MIA but no one from her ship had been found alive and if the demons had her they were not saying anything.

"Sir, it is time," said Chojuro as the youngest member of the legendary seven swordsman of the Mist stood at the door behind him.

"Alright." said Ao as he checked himself in the mirror, it was a short walk but he had to make sure he didn't hit his head as he moved through the passageway of the ship toward the staircase which would lead out to the deck of the ship. Once there he moved to the bow of the ship where a small stand had been set up for him. He moved toward it and looked down, the normally full port had been cleared out. The massive shipping containers which would be waiting to be loaded up had been pushed aside. Instead formed up in perfect rows and columns based on their ranks was the majority of the fighting force from the Mist Village. All of them stamped to attention as the heir apparent to the Sixth Mizukage stood before them.

It was traditional in their village to have two ceremonies for the new Mizukage; the first one would be simply for the ninja core and would including a listing of all his or her skills and their victories. It was here where someone if they were brave enough or had a large enough death wish could challenge the right of the new Mizukage to rule. A challenge meant that they would have to defeat not only the Mizukage but four others of the Mizukage's choosing in single combat without a rest. Because of that fact no one had declared a challenge since the 2nd Mizukage and that foolish man died fighting the first defender. Later on in the day there would be a larger ceremony where the Mizukage would be sworn into the office and given the traditional robes.

"Are there any challengers to my selection to the office of Mizukage of the village hidden in the Mist?" inquired Ao as he waited for a response, as he and everyone else believed none appeared. So Ao moved on to his speech.

The speech was broadcasted across the entire country so that everyone could hear about how the Mist was going to get revenge on the demons for claiming the life of the fifth Mizukage as well as everyone else they had killed.

Listening to the broadcast live was the lookout crew of one of the multiple lighthouses, which sat on the multiplied of small islands located just off shore and at the mouth of the harbor. These lighthouses had three main jobs, first was to guild ships away from the rocks, second was to be the lookouts to any sea attack and lastly was to actually confuse any attackers by shutting down their lights.

"Well he is giving a speech for revenge." said the son of the lighthouse operator as he stood beside his father looking out into the thick mist which surrounded their homeland. Both of them stood on the balcony just below the light the radio going off behind them.

"You expected something different?" inquired the father as he spat off the side of the balcony toward the water below. "I have to say what good will it do to get revenge, those demons have been down there for years and haven't done a thing against us." "

"Some say they aren't human," countered his son as the old man rolled his eyes.

"We used to call whoever we were fighting in a war subhuman so that means nothing. Also if they aren't humans, why mess with them." counted the old man "Hell they haven't even attacked us only defended, so why mess with them."

Before the son could say anything a massive ship came out of the mist, it had to be over 200 feet long and it had a design one of them had seen before. It had an almost perfectly flat deck with a massive structure at the back of the ship where the crew had control center of the ship had to be.

"Are we expecting a ship?" inquired the son

"No." confirmed the older man as the ship made a turn, instead of heading into port it moved into a position to block the port. Then once it had turned broadside to the shore it dropped anchors.

"What the hell is that ship, can you make out a name?" inquired the son

"I can do better than that," said the man as he pointed toward a large flag, which hung from the back of the ship. It was a deep blue with a green sea dragon coming out of the water, its mouth open in rage. "That is a Green Sea Dragon ship."

"What are they doing all the way up here?" inquired the son "They are from the Land of Meteors."

"They are allies with the Demons," reported the father as he prepared to run in and grab his radio. He suddenly found that he and his son where no longer alone, instead three armed man stood behind him. All three of them where clearly ninjas and judging from their silted eyes they where demons.

"Yes, they are and you will not be contacting your friends back in the village," said the shortest of the ninjas in the center. "We have no plans to hurt you, since you don't want to fight us."

"I wanted to throw them over the edge," complained one of the ninjas

"No." ordered the shorter one before turning toward the old man and his son "You should be greatful that the sea dragons aren't ninjas and don't know how to walk on water or they would have killed you. Now sit back and watch."

Far away from the Land of Water, Temari sat at a beach side dinner having her breakfast and enjoying the rising sun. She had called Naruto days earlier and he had ordered her to remain in Celin in case the Daimyo changed their minds. It wasn't too bad, the beach was nice to look at but she wanted her family with her. She missed her little boy and her husband, she called them every night and Shikamaru had offered to come up with their son but that would put him at risk in case the land of Savannah decided to turn against them. She knew that both she and Shikamaru could hold their own but they were not going to put their son at risk for any reason. She still remembered how she told him that she was expecting.

Flashback

The cold wind was howling outside and while no snow had fallen yet it appeared as if it would start at any moment.

"And you said it was a dumb idea to put in a fireplace." Said Shikamaru, he was lying on the floor with his back against the couch; in his one hand was a book while his other hand was holding onto Temari. For herself she was resting against her husband's chest with a book of her own in hand but she was not focusing on the words.

"Not many snow storms in the Wind." explained Temari as the fire roared in the stone fireplace. In truth while she loved the picture of a fire in the fireplace in a winter storm she hated all the pain of actually getting the fire started and keeping it going. Shikamaru liked it though and it reminded him of his childhood home.

"You haven't turn the page in your book in a while." explained Shikamaru "Something wrong?"

Temari took a deep breath as she led her husband's hand to her stomach. He got the message right away; she did not even have to say anything.

"Wow, I am going to be a father," said Shikamaru "I hope it's a girl."

"Why you want someone other then me to be first?" inquired Temari both of them knew the laws of the demons, if a mate had a son first they would be first mate.

"No, your more then enough for me." explained Shikamaru "But a girl would be like her mother."

End Flashback

"Well maybe next time we will have a girl." thought Temari as she finished her breakfast and stood up when she turned to leave when she saw a familiar looking face walking down the straight toward her. She was dirty clearly she had traveled a great distance and she had not come for the beach.

"So Lady Tsunade how are you doing?" inquired Temari

"Will be doing much better after I get a drink and you can get me to the Land of Granite." Explained Tsunade "I asked the Train conductor but she warned me that unless I had a pass I wouldn't be allowed to cross into your new nation."

"Well a pass I can get you." Said Temari with a smile as the two of them smiled at each other "I am sure everyone will be happy to see you."

Thousands of miles across the sea from the land of Savannah the newest and largest ship ever crewed by the Green Sea Dragons was at action stations. They were listening to the radio broadcasts coming from the mainland and they knew the time was right. Slowly multiple hatches open up along the deck of the ship as launching systems for Tenten's rocket system rose up from their holding area in the belly of the ship. In total, there were twenty of them two rows of ten each of them holding five missiles so in total of a 100 missiles. Slowly all of them where aimed toward different targets in the land of mist, most of them where aimed to where the majority of the Mist ninjas where gathered to heard the speech. Others where aimed at the harbor, shipyards and a few was aimed at the upper end of the village where the rich and powerful had their homes.

"All stations are locked down and we are ready," said the XO of the ship toward his captain. The windows had been covered with metal plates to protect against the blast and the ship had counter balance ready.

"Then fire when ready." ordered the Captain as all the missiles shot off the ship in rapid order. With that done the ships raised anchor and headed back into the mist even as the missiles where still in flight.

Back on land a strange sound filled the air causing everyone to stop what they were doing and look around. The mist covered the approaching missiles for most but Ao activated his stolen transplanted Byakugan just in time. He saw thousands of small objects descending down toward them. There was no were to hid and nowhere to run all they explosions ripped into the Mist ninjas. They had all been dressed in their dress uniforms and none of them had expected a fight, to make matters worse they were in the open and that is where the falling objects was concentrated. Within seconds thousands of multiple explosions ripped the area to pieces, fire also landed on the docks and shipyards; here some of the rockets did not separate right so when they landed whole all the bombs went off at once in a giant explosion.

The people in the village had a little bit more of a warning because it was away from the harbor, the sound of the explosions and the fire now raging in the harbor caused massive panic. It was then that the upper end of the village where the rich and powerful had homes was hit by two missiles. The thousands of small bombs descended on the extremely expensive homes turning them into fireballs.

Far away from the smoke and the fire which now consumed one of the five great ninja nations Neji and Tenten Hyuga where looking in each other eyes. Both of them knew they should be up and about, with Naruto and Sasuke gone and Kakashi back in the villages Neji was in command of the wall. Neij should have been have been out making sure the wall was ready for anything but maintenance to do and he didn't want to leave his wife or son. The nearest enemy forces was almost a week away so spending some family time was more important than that at the moment.

Little Lee Hyuga named after Neji's and Tenten's teammate Lee rested between his parents as they shared a bed in Neji's private quarters.

"He still looks so much like you," said Tenten as she looked at her sleeping son, he had the pair white eyes of his father but had his mother's dark brown hair instead of a raven black.

"I admit he does." confirmed Neji

"Well maybe the next one will look like me more." said Tenten with a small laugh as Neji's head snapped up to his grinning wife. "You're going to be a father again."

"Again?" inquired Neji

"Yes, it is a lot sooner then we planned." admitted Tenten with a smile, both of them had said they wanted to have three or four kids but they wanted to space them out more, by the time this one was born little Lee would be 4 but in the demon years he would be only 2. "But fate is fate."

Neji's response was to kiss his wife before looking at his still sleeping son.

"You better be a good big brother Lee." said Neji as his son responded by rolling over a bit.

Outside of the Village hidden in the Mist on a large private estate, the Water Daimyo rushed out of his home as fast as he could however he wasn't known for his fitness.

"What is going on!" yelled the Daimyo as he neared open sliding door, he could see smoke and fire rising from the village. As he ran outside, he ran right into an elbow to the face, which sent him falling to the ground.

"Who dare put a hand on me!" yelled the Daimyo as he placed his hand to his bloody nose before looking up into the red and black sharingan eyes of Sasuke Uchiha. In his hands were duel swords and both of them where covered with blood. On the ground behind the introduce the Daimyo could make out the dead body of the head of his bodyguard force.

"I dare." answered Sasuke with a smile.

"What do you want?" inquired the Daimyo as he wet himself as he scuffed backwards on hands and knees. "I have gold if you want it?"

"You send men and women out to kill my wives and daughters with no second thought and you think I am going to go away with some gold?" inquired Sasuke with a grin as he lifted his sword and cut the cheek of the Daimyo who soiled his designer pants, staining his white carpet brown in the process. "No, I haven't come for Gold, I have come to show you and your fellow Daimyo that when you send people out to die with no punishment for you."

"You're going to kill me?" inquired the Daimyo as Sasuke put away one of his swords and dragged the Daimyo out of his multiple million dollar mansion and toward his private beach. Already his brand new yacht was on fire along with the dock. Sasuke forced him to his knees as he placed his sword on the back of the Daimyo's neck as both of them faced the Daimyo's massive home.

"I should, but Naruto thinks you are key to ending this war." stated Sasuke as he turned his gaze toward the mansion, blood rolled down his cheek as the mansion was engulfed in black fire hotter than the fires of hell itself.

"No my home, my gold." cried the Daimyo, he knew that most of his personal gold was in a vault in the basement along with the records of all the land he owns and their income. Without them, there was no way to know for sure what he owned and what he did not.

"Naruto said to spare your life, didn't say anything about your gold." said Sasuke as he turned to leave.

"I will make sure you die for this!" yelled the Daimyo to Sasuke's back, Sasuke just kept walking. "Your wives and daughters will die screaming."

That got Sasuke to stop as he turned his head to face the Daimyo, his sharingan blazing with anger. The Daimyo tried to run but it was too late for that. Within moments, Sasuke was on him and with one quick slash; the Daimyo had lost his right arm. The Daimyo was screaming in pain as Sasuke stood over him.

"Naruto, said I should leave you alive and I would have but you threatened my family." said Sasuke as he spun his sword around in his hand and brought it down on the Daimyo's palm before twisting. "And so I shall but if I you don't call for an end to the war now I will come back and I no force on Earth will stop me from doing unspeakable things to you. Do you understand?"

"Yes…" cried the Daimyo

"Good." Said Sasuke as cleaned his sword and put it away before walking out to sea where a small ship was waiting to take him home.
