Here's the next chapter, sooner than I have planned so think of it as a treat.
Next chapter will be Malfoys' (father and son) meeting with Dumbledore. I would like some ideas on what you would like to see. The only thing I won't do is expel him no matter how much I want to, I have something I need him for in the long run. Especially since I was thinking of doing a sequel.
So disclaimer: I NO OWN ANYTHING.
Annabeth POV
Once I was at the other end of the castle I started to get control over myself, the spiders weren't coming to get me.
Percy spent a good portion of the class laying down with me just holding onto me just reassuring that he wouldn't let anything happen to me. It was about ten minutes before break between the double periods.
"Percy I am fine head back to class."
"Are you sure Annabeth, you started having a flashback. I want to be here just in case anything happens."
"Nothing is going to happen, and if anything does Madam Pomfrey knows to get you." I give him a quick kiss to motivate him and to prove to him I am fine.
He gives me a warily smile, kisses my forehead gets up and slowly walks out of the hospital wing. Pomfrey runs in one more times hands me a cup of tea and some chocolate.
"This should make you feel better dear."
As she walks back to her office, Professor McGonagall walks in. "I am soo sorry I was held up in a meeting this morning with all the professors. And I forgot what we were doing until I walked in, I meant to send you off to Dumbledore's office at the beginning of class. All you alright."
"I am fine Professor, Percy was all I needed until I got better. Thank you for your concern thou."
"Well then, I would tell you to come back to class but for the next part of class we are doing more work with spiders. So you are free for now, I think you would like the library, once Madame Pomfrey says your free you can head there.
"Thank you Professor but I think I am going to wait here until my friends come and we can spend the break together."
"I better head back, they are probably behaving like a babbling, bumbling band of baboons."
I tried my best to conceal my smile that is kind of funny.
Until my friends came up I had to sit hear sip my tea and eat some chocolate. It was boring but for once Percy wasn't a complete sea-weed brain and brought up my bag. So I had some books with me, I pulled out the one for transfiguration class and started to read.
I was about halfway through a chapter talking about how if done properly one can change an inanimate object into a living creature for a specified amount of time, then the castle shook.
My first thought was Percy, I hope you're ok. My next one wasn't so worry some, it went along the lines of: Percy you idiot what did you do this time.
Then it was eerily quiet until, the shadows on the other side of the room got darker and out stepped Nico, Thalia, and Leo carrying a hog tied Percy?!
"Thalia would you mind explaining to me why the castle shook and why you hog tied my boyfriend?"
Thalia took a deep breath and simply said "Malfoy,"
Leo cut in "I think he is Octavian's long lost twin."
Thalia continued as if nothing happened "Was making horrible jokes about throwing spiders at you and what not. So I punched him in the face and broke his nose. Then when I was about to punch him again Percy stopped me and I told him what Malfoy said. And while he thought we were distracted he tried to grab the jars of spiders of McGonagall's desk. Then Percy just snapped."
"And the rope?"
"It was something that Percy asked Artemis, Hecate, and Athena to make. It is a rope woven from Olympian silver, when used to tie someone up it suppresses all their powers. Percy was afraid that he would one day snap so he asked them to create this so that his powers could be surpassed and no one would be in danger."
I got out of the bed and walked over to Percy, his irises still swirling like hurricanes. I placed my hand on his check and the swirling slowly stopped. And you could see his eye slowly piecing themselves back together.
I knew it was getting harder for him to hold on to his humanity, but I knew I was his tether, the one thing that keeps him rooted. Like when he bore the curse of Achilles, I am his mortal point the only thing keeping him close to human.
Once the swirling stopped I untied him, and he curled up into a ball, I pulled him up into my lap and comforted him. The only things that scared him at this point is in our lives is losing me or his mom, and if he lost his humanity like he did in the pit.
Nico and Leo went to the door to make sure no one else came in, while Thalia informed Madame Pomfrey of what happened. We spent the rest of the period and our break like that.
Once I knew Percy was a sleep, I had Nico and Leo help me carry him to a bed. Thalia pushed another bed next to it, so it was big enough to fit both of us comfortably. I laid down next to Percy and pulled him into my chest and wrapped my arms around him, like a mom trying to protect her child. I closed my eyes and let Percy's calm breathing lull me to sleep.
Thalia POV
Once the lovebirds were asleep, Nico and I pulled some of those curtain thingys around so no prying eyes could spy on them easily. The nurse lady knows they are here and will keep an eye on them.
I am still trying to figure out how Percy was able to force everyone to hit the deck, I knew Annabeth knew but I would never be able to get it out of her.
Nico, Leo and I arrived at our next class, we ran up to Piper, Hazel, Jason and Frank, Nico being the most proficient explained what happened and where Percy and Annabeth were in Latin.
The by the time Nico finished I noticed Hermione straining to hear what we were saying, I quickly added in Greek that Hermione probably understands Latin, and knows what we're talking about and to be more careful.
Then Professor Babbling (AN I got the name from the wiki) walked in and greeted us in, you guessed it Ancient Greek, hopefully we can speak fast enough for no one to understand us.
All the demigods groaned knowing now we would have to be more careful when talking to each other.
Hermione POV:
The exchange students ran in and the vampire one ran to the other ones and started speaking rapidly in another language. This isn't the one they normally speak, it was Latin, thank Merlin, I took Ancient runes last year. We learned Latin, and I was pretty much fluent at it, but since I didn't practice that much so I was rusty. But I remembered enough so that the first half sounded like he was explaining what happened in Transfiguration. The next just said Percy was with Annabeth.
I tried my best to look frustrated, and I was because the end of the conversation was in the other language they speak.
Professor Babbling came in and like he does every year greeted us in the runes/language we were going to learn.
Then in English he said "This year we are going to concentrate on the Ancient Greeks, and not just their language, but also their culture and religion. At this all the exchange students groaned, and Leo, the imp one was the only one that looked excited and shouted "Finally a class I know I can pass."
Then had a sheepish grin that pretty much said 'did I just say that out loud?'
"Oops."
Babbling continued "Today we will be starting with their alphabet, and next class, we will be taking a quiz to see what you remember, and to see what you know about their religion. So the Greek alphabet is the following:…."
He proceeded to write the entire Greek alphabet on the board, I was kind of curious as to why he wasn't asking where the other exchange students were. I noticed that the only ones taking notes were Hazel, Frank, and Jason. Nico was using his wand and playing with the smoky wisps that came out. Thalia was playing with her bracelet, careful not to touch a certain charm, I guessed it turned them into her bow and arrows. Leo was using his wand and burning holes in his parchment, I guess the language they speak is Greek so they don't need to take notes. Then why were the others taking notes I guess they speak Latin not Greek.
I was brought out of my thoughts when I heard Professor Babbling "We were going to have a demonstration today, but something came up and the two students who were supposed to speak are currently unable to be here."
I guess he already knew what happened to Percy and Annabeth and I was right that they speak Ancient Greek.
Professor B. continued "But I think that some of their friends might be able to fill in for them?"
He looked to the others and Jason was the one who spoke "Well, Leo and Piper aren't completely fluent yet, while Frank, Hazel and I specialize in Latin. Your best bet would be Nico or Thalia."
"Well, Mr. Di Angelo, Ms. Gra… Thalia, would either of you like to come up here and give a demonstration of the Greek language?"
What is with her and her last name? Why does she hate it so much?
Nico and Thalia had a hushed conversation, then she pushed him forward he glared back at her, the glare said 'I will get you for this.'
He walked up to the front, Professor B. said "originally I was going to have Percy and Annabeth have a full conversation with me translating. But I guess we can have one and I will translate after words."
(AN this means in Greek)
Sooo, what are going to talk about Professor B?
Well how is your first couple of days at Hogwarts Mr. Di Angelo?
It is ok, I'd much rather go to the school I am used to, I don't get stared at as much there. and he added in a whisper And my boyfriend is there.
That is sad, but hopefully people will stop and you will feel more at home.
Then Professor B. translated what they said, I felt kind of bad, since I was one the students that constantly stared at him. Trying to figure him and the other exchange students out.
We spent the rest of the class learning the basic greetings.
That is it for this chapter, next one will be the meeting of the Malfoys.
If you have ideas of what should happen comment/review or PM me so I know.
Until then/next time
