Can You Heal My Hidden Pain?

(Chapter 7)

It has been about two week since Usagi and Joey were sold as slaves to the Pharaoh and his cousin. They were falling into their roles about as hard as a rock. Usagi tried her hardest to obey the orders Atemu gave her, but with her clumsiness and never doing these type of things before, Usagi wasn't the best slaves.

Joey on the other hand fought tooth and nail with every order Seth gave him. After what happen in the bath, Joey had been very careful about pushing it, but still didn't do as he was told and making damn sure Seth wasn't anywhere near when he was changing or bathing, much to Seth's annoyances. It was clear that Joey and Usagi were never slaves before.

But it wasn't until Aknadin came back from King Endymion's kingdom that the real trouble for the siblings started. Now the two blonds were left alone by the other priests, but once Aknadin saw the two, he was bewitched by their looks. The pale skin, hair that was kissed by Ra, and eyes bluer then the Nile river that held either fire and fear, both of which Aknadin loved to see in his slaves eyes. He loved to break them. The fire burning bright as they fought him tooth and nail then the fear that he put in them after he broke them. But lucky for them, they were always with their masters, so Aknadin couldn't touch them. That was the only time Joey was willing to be around Seth. He could feel the lustful stares he and his sister got from the old man and it sent shivers down his spine.

Joey and Usagi hid from pretty well Aknadin, but sadly one day the bunny got corned by the hunter. Usagi was carrying Atemu's wine that he sent her to get before he had to go to court when Aknadin spotted her. Aknadin quickly, but quietly got closer to her. Once he was close enough he pushed her into the wall, making her drop the wine. The glass pitcher shattered and spilled all over the floor.

"Now, look what you did." Said Aknadin with a fake look of disappointment. Usagi look between the wine and Aknadin in fear. She knew Atemu wouldn't hurt after she explained what happened. Atemu was always kind to Usagi like that, never punishing her for her clumsiness. But this was different. This was Aknadin, she was dealing with at the moment. He liked to punish the slaves for every little thing they did wrong or what he thought they did wrong. And she had heard stories of his favorite way of punishing slaves. She wasn't dumb, she had seen the way Aknadin looked at her and her brother and it scared her. She was not going to let that happen if she could help it.

"That wine was for the Pharaoh. And you spilled it all over the floor. Tsk Tsk" he said as he moved in closer. Usagi prayed that someone would have heard that pitcher break and come to see what happened. Ra, himself must have heard that prayer because Seth and his stubborn puppy had heard the noise and rushed to see what had happened. Joey was the first one around the corner and saw Aknadin trapping Usagi up against the wall.

"Hey! Get away from her!" Joey shouted as he quickly pushed Aknadin away from Usagi, moving her behind himself. Now, normally Aknadin would be mad that a slave had dare go against him, but this just gave him all the reason to punish the two slaves more without the Pharaoh really have a say other then telling him, he can't kill them. Which he wasn't planning to do. Oh no, Aknadin had darker plans for the two beautiful slaves. Unless one of their masters saw what they did and were ok with it. Lucky, Seth was only a few steps behind his puppy and saw what Joey did. And he wasn't going to let his puppy be touch by Aknadin. Seth was going to have to talk to Atemu about Aknadin. Seth made himself known as he cleared his throat catching Aknadin off guard. He sent a icy glare at the old priest. Aknadin knew that he was going to have to catch the two alone before he could do what he wants to do with the siblings. With a huff, Aknadin walked away to go to the throne room where all the priests had gathered for the every day judgement of the criminals.

"Thanks." Joey mumbled after Aknadin left. Seth was slight shocked by the thanks from the pup, sure he expected Bunny to say it, but not his puppy. He recover quickly and put up his mask. Atemu had shown up to watch Aknadin to leave with ruffed feathers and see the little shock to Seth. He had to hold back a chuckle when he saw Seth's face. Well, it was time for the Pharaoh to judge the criminals of his land, Atemu got the attention he wanted as all three turned to look at him.

"Seth, we need to go to the throne room." He said as he looked down at the spilled wine on the floor. Spotting a servant, he told them to get someone to clean up the spilled wine before going over to Usagi and making sure she was unharmed. After he saw that she was fine, he took her hand and lead her to the throne room with Seth and his pup following. Once they got there they took their places, Atemu sat in his throne, Usagi at his feet sitting on the steps, Seth standing behind his cousin and Joey behind him.

One by one, thieves, murders, and rapist were brought before the Pharaoh to be judged for their crimes. There was many that begged for forgiveness and said that they only did what they had to for their families, but there was few that looked proud of what they did. A few even were so bold say they would do it again and worse things. Some were directed at the Pharaoh and his priests. Usagi was shocked to see people act like this, but she more interested by the items the pharaoh and his priests used to judge his people. each priest had a golden item that would glow when it judge a person then Atemu would give out the punishment. She would have to ask Atemu how they worked when they were alone. There was some punishments that were lighter then others, but she could see that these were needed.

Nothing really happen until one criminal was brought in. The moment he stepped into the room he watched Usagi, not taking his eyes off. This freaked her out more when the crime he did was read off. Rape and murder of a young girl. The man didn't answer any questions that were asked he just stared at Usagi, who moved closer to Atemu. As Usagi moved the man went into action, grabbing her hair and pulling her back to him by it. Usagi screamed in pain and fear as she pulled against the man's chest.

"No one move or I'll slit her throat." He said as he put the sword to Usagi's throat. Atemu froze half way down the steps of his throne as did the priests. Some the guard started to move, but the man push the sword tighter to her throat drawing a whimper and a few tears from her.

"Don't move!" Atemu ordered, stopping his guard.

"What do you think is going to happen by doing this?" asked Atemu as he watched the man closely. The man smile and rubbed his cheek into Usagi hair, enjoying how the great Pharaoh burned with rage, but was unable to do anything about it.

"I'm going to watch you beg me not to kill this little pretty toy and watch all hope leave your eyes as I kill her then you." The man laughed as he licked Usagi's cheek. With the lighting speed the lunar prince was known for, he had the man thrown away from Usagi, pushing her behind him towards the throne as he stood ready for the man's attack. The man recover quickly, screaming as he leaped forward, raising his sword. Usagi fell to the foot of the steps where Atemu gather her up into his arms protecting her as he watch her brother dodge the man's attacks. Joey side stepped each swing of the sword. This man swings were nothing to the likes of Uranus' swings she would throw at him whenever he had pissed her off. Something he was really good at. Grabbing the sword with one bare handed as the man raised it to swing it down again, with the other he punched the man in the gut, dropping him to his knees.

"This is for hurting my little sister." Joey said in ice cold voice before knocked the man out with a right hook to the face. The guards picked up the unconscious man and dragged him away. Seth rushed forward to check the cut on Joey's hand where he grabbed the sword as Atemu checked Usagi's neck. Isis called for her medical tools as she moved to take care of the siblings wounds. Usagi's wound was very light with just little blood and just needed to cleaned and wrapped. Joey's wound was a little more bloody. He needed a few stitches, but nothing serious was harmed.
