Sky is sitting in the nursery right next to Clark's room, she has just hit her sixth month and the morning sickness has stopped but her cravings has intensified. The nursery is painted a pale yellow with a pale green trim, Clark, who is very artistic, painted a mural of Winnie the Pooh characters on the wall. There is a cherry wood crib in the corner across from the mural, a matching dresser and nightstand beside it. There is also a matching rocking chair with a C carved into, they have agreed to keep with the tradition of C.
She finishes folding some of the new outfits that they have bought and stands up and makes her way to the dresser and places then in there, she hears the door closes followed by footsteps and looks up as Clark walks in the nursery with only his socks on.
"Hey mom" he says walking in and helping her up off the floor.
"Hey Clark, are you hungry" she asks?
"I think I can wait until dinner, I am just going to start my homework" he says.
"You know your parents would be proud of the man you have become" she says.
"Thanks" he says and walks out of the nursery and into his bedroom, she makes her way downstairs to start on dinner.
The house phone rings but it's extension is in the living room and she is cooking steak, Clark comes downstairs and answers the phone.
"Mom it's dad" he calls out to her.
"Oh ok coming" she say and cuts the steak to low heat and the baked vegetables to low before walking into the living room and grasping the phone out of Clark's hands.
"Hey honey. Listen this case is going to be longer than I thought, I won't be able to make it to dinner" he says.
"But we haven't ate dinner together as a family in two weeks because of this case" she says.
"I know but I just can't leave my job because you want us to have dinner together every night, some things are more important" he says.
"Wow Cole thanks" she says rubbing her stomach as the baby presses against her bladder.
"What do you want from me" he growls?
"Nothing Cole! Absolutely nothing! Come in whenever you want" she snaps and hangs up the phone.
She turns around and looks to see Clark lingering at the bottom of the stairs.
"Dad's not coming" he asks?
"Looks like it will just be us again" she says.
"Whatever" Clark says and makes his way back upstairs.

It is almost two am when Cole walks into the house, the lights are all off except for the kitchen. He walks in after locking the doors and checks the oven to see his plate sitting on top of the oven rack, he pulls it out and smiles because it's still warm. After eating, he sets his dishes in the sink and loosens his tie before slipping it from around his neck. He then trudges out of his suit jacket and makes his way upstairs, as he makes his way into the bedroom he stops and sees Clark's light is still on.
Cole makes his way to the door and slowly pushes the door open, Clark is lying on top of his sheets with earbuds in his ears and his history book on his lap. The lamp on with his hand loosely wrapped around a pen and his notebook open inside of the History book, Cole smiles and walks over closing the book and setting it on the dresser before slipping the pen out of his hand and by the lamp. He then moves the cover from underneath Clark and pulls it over him, taking off his ear buds and cutting off the music. Cole smiles down at his son, he studies himself to sleep every night even though they tell him not to.
After he cuts off the lamp, Cole closes his son's door and makes his way into the bedroom. He is prepared for an argument with Sky but when he walks in he is shocked, she is lying on his side of the bed with his pillow in her arms tightly. The sheets barely covering her legs, he sees empty Reese's wrappers on the night stand and she only eats those if she is really upset. After changing into his pajamas, he crawls into bed and lies on his side close to her; reaching a hand out he lies it on her stomach and closes his eyes.

The next day is Saturday and Cole has the day off, Sky wakes up expecting to be alone in bed but is surprised to see the sleeping face of her husband. She shifts in bed but only for Cole arm to tighten its grip around her stomach, he moves so his head is pressed in the crack of her neck and shoulder. Sky is a taken back by this demeanor and raises her hand to run her fingers through his hair, Cole eyes open as he feels his hair being combed through and he looks up at Sky who removes her hand from his hair.
"Good morning beautiful" he says with that raspy morning voice.
"Hi" she whispers.
He sits up as she moves to climb out of the bed, grasping her hand she stops and looks at him.
"We need to talk" he says.
She looks at him and gently slips out of his grip, the baby is pressing hard on her bladder as she makes her way to their bathroom. After she is done, she washes her hands and pulls her hair into a messy bun; the farther along in her pregnancy she gets the harder it gets for her to do day to day activities. She makes her way into the bedroom to see Cole sitting on the edge of the bed on his phone.
"I sent Addison the files that says evidence was tampered with" Cole says into the phone.
She shakes her head and makes her way out of the bedroom, she checks to see that Clark is still asleep. On weekends he is dead to the world as he usually sleeps into two pm, football is over so he usually either sleeps or hangs with his little sisters. She smiles as he is lying on his stomach, his body lying horizontally on the bed and his head facing the door; feeling a flutter in her stomach she moves her arm and places it on the right side as the baby moves.
"Yeah your big brother is adorable" she says before closing his bedroom door and turns around seeing Cole walking out their bedroom. She presses a hand on her lower back and walks past him, they make their way downstairs and into the kitchen and starts preparing breakfast.
"Are we not going to discuss our argument last night" he asks?
"No point if nothing is going to change" she says with her back to him.
"I am a lawyer and this is a huge case, I have responsibilities" he says as he feels his temple start to throb.
"Yes and I am Executive Director of a high profiled interior design business, a mother and a wife" she states turning around to face him.
"You don't work thirteen maybe twenty hour days" he growls at her.
"No my job is twenty four hours. I have to go to work, come home and clean and prepare dinner. I have to make sure that Clark knows that his father loves him even when hasn't spent time with him in two weeks. I have reassure myself that it's just work and maybe you will have the day off tomorrow, all while doing this six months pregnant with a magical child who is destined to be evil. Damn it" she barks and flinches when a glass vase shatters and fire sparks on top of her plants.
Cole looks at her and she drops her head and exhales, the fire dies out and she waves her hand so the vase is now fixed and sitting on top of the table again. She turns her back to Cole and starts making pancakes and eggs, he walks over to her and wraps his arms around hers trapping her and resting his chin on her shoulder.
"Coleridge" she states tired and not in the mood.
"I know you feel like I don't appreciate you and that's not true, I appreciate you so much. I may not show it but I do, you have dinner ready for me whenever I come home late. You're a good mother to Clark, you carry the burden of a magical child who is destined for evil. You are a spectacular woman, an amazing mother and an even outstanding mother" he says in her ear.
"Her" she whispers turning around in his arms and pressing her head against his chest.
"Her, what" he asks?
"I had an appointment a few days ago and Clark went with me, our baby is a girl" she says lifting her head so her chin rests on his chest and looking at him.
"Why didn't you tell me" he asks?
"I did but you were busy with the case and I didn't want to bother you" she says.
"You, Clark and our daughter will never be a bother" he says and leans down pressing his lips against hers.
"Cole I understand that your job is important but your family shouldn't have to come second" she says.
"You don't" he argues as she steps out of his arms and goes back to preparing breakfast.
Minutes later, Sky is eating cinnamon pancakes with yogurt and banana slices on top along with a cup of white tea and lemon slices; Cole is sitting across from her watching her eat her pancakes with yogurt.
"Where is Clark" he asks?
"He doesn't wake up until one on weekends, he spends most of his nights studying" Sky says.
"Yeah I noticed last night" Cole says taking a sip of his coffee.
"Well summer is this week so he should be fine after his finals. I was thinking about us taking a trip once he gets out of school, just the three of us before I give birth" Sky says.
"I don't know Sky. This is a major case and getting distracted by a family vacation can have a negative effect on the law firm and my job" he says.
"Fine Cole forgot I asked" she says and finishes her last bite before cleaning up the dishes and then as much as she hates to admit this, she has developed the pregnant waddle so she waddles upstairs when she sees Clark standing in the doorway.
"Mom" he says.
"I guess you heard" she says rubbing her stomach.
"Yeah but I still want to go on that trip" he says.
"Alright we will go the weekend of your last day, I'll take off three days. How about a cabin train to Colorado" she suggests.
"Long ass there is wifi and food I am fine" Clark says making her laugh.
"You and your sister has the appetite of elephant" Sky says ruffling his hair.
"Hey is is alright if I spend Friday night at mommy's" Clark asks?
Sky's mom while Phoebe is mother or mommy, she prefers it because he is adorable when he says it.
"As long as you clear it's with her and I'll pick you up Saturday and we can go" Sky replies.
"I'm going to call her now, hopefully I can persuade Aunt Piper to make me one of her double chocolate German cake" Clark says rubbing his hands together before rushing off into his room making Sky laugh.
She feels a stiff kick to her rib and winces, she moves her arm across her stomach resting on the side and rubs it.
"Is she kicking again" Clark asks after getting off of the phone with Phoebe?
"Yeah want to feel" Sky asks and walks into his room, Clark is sitting on the edge of the bed and Sky stands in front of him. He reaches out his hand and she moves it to rest it on the left side of her stomach before another kick is delivered against his hand and he flinches before a smile crosses his lips.
"Woah she's strong" he says.
"Right I think she will make an excellent kicker for soccer" Sky says giggling.
Neither of them notices Cole is standing at the top of the stairs watching them interact with his phone to his ear, his wife and son are giggling as they interact with his unborn daughter. He should be included in this family moment, his assistant Tanya calls his name and he goes back to his business call heading downstairs.
Later that night, Sky is lying in bed on her side. She swears it the hormones that make her go crazy, Cole is lying on his back with one arm tossed across his eyes. Sky moves closer against him and interlocks her arm through his free one firmly gripping it. She can feel him slipping away, their marriage has a crack in it and she doesn't know how to fix it.

When Cole wakes up the first thing he feels is a firm grip on his arm, turning his head he sees that Sky has somehow locked his arm in between hers. He lets out a small laugh and reaches forward to unlatch her arm when it's like he is pulled inside of a vision, he sees Clark and Sky standing on a beach that appears to be in Costa Rica. He then sees a headful of dark curls running off to where a collection of shells are, she has to be no older than five. The vision ends and he gasps with wide eyes, Sky doesn't have visions. He looks down at her stomach and places his free hand on it earning him a swift kick, he sees Sky face grimace in discomfort as she legs go of his arm.
He moves to get out of bed and makes his way into the bathroom, after showering and slipping into a suit. He has thirty minutes left before he has to leave for work so he prepares breakfast for Clark and Sky, he then writes notes for each of them and leaves them beside the food when he hears them coming down the stairs. He grabs his suitcase and walks out of the front door with a cup of coffee in his hand.
