a/n: Sorry I have been absent from this story. Honestly with the way the show has been it has just killed my mojo in the writing department. :/ I'm saddened and ugh trying to not let it get to me. That being said... the show has made me hate Hook with a passion. I had originally planned to have him somewhat of a good guy in this story but yeah no, I'm angry so it's coming out in this chapter. If you like him, sorry, blame the show for my hatred of him. Also this story will most likely be wrapped up in the next couple chapters. Anyways... sorry for the short chapter but I hope you like it none the less. Reviews = happy writer. :)
Chapter 11
"Ugh, seriously, Regina. Stop bringing it up or I'm leaving." Emma stated as she leaned against the island in the brunette's kitchen, her arms folded in an annoyed stance. It was the third time since they had arrived back at the manor that Regina had brought up the whole Mary Margaret conversation. "Drop it, please."
Regina smirked as she turned around to fix her eyes upon the blonde. "Oh? Surely you can come up with a better threat than that one, dear. That was lacking actual believability of carry through. I thought I taught you better than that." She winked at Emma as she took a few steps toward her. "Where exactly will you go? Your parents?"
"Ack no. She might try to 'talk' to me again." Emma mumbled the last bit, half to herself. She really didn't want to go back through that awkwardness that she knew she'd run into back at the apartment. She knew her mother wouldn't just drop the subject either.
Regina placed her finger under the blonde's chin and tilted it so Emma would look her in the eyes. "Exactly. So you're not leaving." There was a hint of possessiveness in her whispered tone that sent a chill down Emma's spine. Regina leaned in and placed a soft kiss upon the blonde's lips then stepped back and handed over the cup of hot chocolate she had poured a moment ago. "And here, this might help you relax."
Emma let out a whimper from the loss of the kiss before opening her eyes and glancing down at the cup in her hand. "What is this? It looks like liquid chocolate. I mean I love chocolate, don't get me wrong but don't you have something stronger? Like your cider?"
"It is European style hot chocolate. And who's to say I didn't add something to it?" She added with a smirk. "Just try it."
Emma arched her brow and lifted her gaze, eyeing the brunette with suspicion. She slowly brought the drink to her lips and took a taste, almost immediately letting out a light moan as it hit her tongue. It was like a sheet of chocolate flavored silk running across her taste buds. She could taste the hint of her familiar cinnamon, but something else lingered under the current. "Is that tequila?" She inquired as she brought the cup away, running her tongue along her upper lip to catch the bit of chocolate left upon it.
"Perhaps." Regina noticed the blonde had missed a spot and chuckled as she reached out and wiped away the last remnants from Emma's lip with her thumb then brought it to her own mouth to suck it off. Emma swallowed hard as her mouth went dry watching the brunette woman. Regina noticed the reaction and couldn't hold back the devilish smirk as she flicked her tongue out along her bottom lip.
Taking another sip of the intoxicating drink, Emma carefully set the cup down then slowly, step by step, backed Regina up against the refrigerator, planting her hands against the surface as she kissed the brunette with the chocolate still lingering on her lips. Regina's hands found their way up under Emma's shirt, skimming her fingers in feather light caresses along the woman's sides.
Emma deepened the kiss as she leaned in more, loving the fact Regina seemed to be letting her have the control at that moment. Just as she moved to dip her head in to taste the sensitive flesh along the brunette's neck… the doorbell rang out through the house. "Don't answer it, they'll go away." She mumbled against the smooth skin as she placed a kiss upon it; she wanted to remain lost in the all encompassing intoxication that was simply Regina.
When the air remained silent, Emma hoped she had gotten her way and continued her exploration of one Regina Mills. God, why did I wait so long to tell her how I felt? She ran the tip of her tongue along the curve of the brunette's neck, nipping at her jawline when she reached it. Things couldn't be that easy however, as a heavy knock at the door broke the silence of the intimate moment. Emma let out a soft growl but never relinquished what she was claiming.
The knock rang out once again, a bit louder than before and much to Regina's own reluctance, she found a means to slip out from under Emma's seductive attentions to see who the hell it was. And whoever it was better have a damn good explanation for the disturbance.
Emma closed her eyes and groaned at the loss as she continued leaning against the fridge, Regina chuckling at the woman's clear sexual frustration. "Good things come to those who wait, dear." She whispered in Emma's ear before placing a kiss on her cheek. "Let me just go see what the nuisance is and get rid of them, you enjoy your hot chocolate." She gave her a wink and a kiss upon the lips before exiting the kitchen. the blonde let out a puff of air and pushed off the fridge, turning around to walk over to the island and lean against it, grabbing her cup of hot chocolate and taking another sip as she waited.
Regina made a quick check of herself in the mirror; she ran her finger along the corner of her mouth, making sure her lipstick was in proper condition. Confident in her appearance she turned and headed to the front door just as another knock hammered against the solid wood.
For the love of… Swinging the door open she was met with the last person she would want desecrating her front porch with their presence. "You." Regina's disdain oozed from that one solitary word.
Killian stood there, a determined look etched across his face and chest puffed out. He had managed to sober up slightly since that morning's talk with Mary Margaret but the rum was still singing to him and coaxing him to go after what was his. That is how he ended up there, standing on the front porch of the woman who took what was rightfully his and he was going to fight to get it back.
"What are you doing here?" The brunette inquired in a hissed annoyance as she shut the door behind her, highly aware of Emma not that far away in the kitchen.
"I made a mistake and I want Emma back." Hook answered.
Regina took on the air of cold, calculating calmness of the Queen. "That's quite presumptuous of you, thinking she would even want you back in the first place." Her brow quirked as she looked the pirate over, a sneer forming upon her lips.
"Listen here, Your Majesty." Hook took a step toward her, invading her personal space.
"NO, perhaps you should listen." Regina snapped back at him. She could smell the scent of rum upon his breath. "Why don't you go home and sober up before you make a bigger fool of yourself… if that is even at all possible. You are in no state to..."
"I am sober enough to know you stole Emma from me and I want her back. I don't care what I have to do to make that happen."
Regina rolled her eyes at the stupidity spouting from the pirate's mouth. "Would you listen to yourself? She's not some ship you can just come claim as yours. And I certainly did not steal her from you. She came to me for help. It's not my fault that she had an epiphany that she was just settling for you all this time." Hurt filtered across Killian's face at the words and Regina dropped her guard, her coldness thawing as she thought he would finally let it go; she was going to try to be the bigger person, for Emma's sake. "It hurts, doesn't it?" She asked softly.
Killian was quiet a moment as he weighed his thoughts, but the rum had made his attentions and mouth loose to run wild. "You don't deserve her." He finally mumbled lowly.
"What?" Regina creased her brow. Surely she did not hear him correctly after giving him the benefit of the doubt. She could feel her blood quickly elevating to a boil once more.
The pirate slowly let his gaze rise to meet hers, fixing her with a calculating stare. "I said… you don't deserve Emma."
It was taking all Regina had for her not to take a ball of flame to his face. "And you think you do?"
"I've changed!" He yelled out.
Regina scoffed at his nonsense. "Clearly your drunken stupidity says otherwise. Do you even know how hard it was for her to do what she did? No because you're too hung up on yourself and what you want! I should know… " She trailed off before finishing somewhat somberly, "I've had years of experience being just that."
Killian snapped and grabbed the brunette by the shirt. "Don't you dare compare me to you. I didn't go around killing masses to get what I wanted."
Regina's eyes widened in shock at the pirate's brazenness. "No but you let revenge and vengeance rule you, as did I. Now, kindly remove your hand unless you fancy a matching hook to go with your other one."
"What the hell is going on?" A voice rang out.
Both parties turned to look at the blonde that was standing at the open door. They had been so focused on their respective rants that they hadn't noticed her there.
Emma had been waiting patiently in the kitchen for Regina to get rid of the interruption, only wanting to get back to where they had left off. But after finishing off her hot chocolate, she decided it seemed to be taking way longer than necessary and had gone to see what the problem was. As she got closer to the front door she heard the elevated voices and made quick to get to the door to open it. That is when she found Killian in the midst of grabbing Regina.
"Emma…" The pirate stated in confusion, seeing the blonde there. He quickly released his hold on Regina and took a step back.
"What are you doing here, Killian?" The blonde asked him, anger resonating within her tone. After witnessing him threatening Regina as she had walked out, the question was more a formality than care of an actual answer at the precise moment; she was more concerned with Regina's well being. She immediately turned her attentions to the brunette woman who was straightening out her shirt where it had been grabbed and now wrinkled. "Are you alright?" Emma inquired as she took the necessary steps to get to her and cupped her face with her hands, looking her over for an indication of any harm done to her.
"Yes, I'm quite fine." Regina answered, slightly annoyed at the attention and reached up to bat Emma's hands away. All she wanted was for the blonde to get out of her way so she could throttle the pirate scum. "Stop fussing over me." Her words were laced with irritation but Emma knew she meant nothing by it and simply gave her a warm knowing smile. Regina rolled her eyes at the blonde's incessant ability to read through her and couldn't hide the upward twitch at the corner of her mouth. Emma Swan, you're infuriating sometimes.
Once she was satisfied that the woman she loved was unharmed, Emma turned back to face Killian. She cared for him, she did; she would be lying if she ever said she didn't. But this, this was unacceptable. "What has gotten into you?" She waited for an answer but was met with silence, the man standing there trying to keep his rum hazed anger at bay.
"Well? Go ahead." Regina commented as she folded her arms across her chest. "Tell her how you've come to take back what I apparently stole. And how I 'don't deserve her', I believe were your words."
Emma looked back over her shoulder at the brunette and saw the momentary hurt flicker in her eyes before she quickly masked it away, as she was so good at doing. Emma then turned back to Killian to confirm what had just been insinuated, fixing the man with a look that could kill. "I thought I knew you. I thought you had changed. Clearly I was mistaken." Killian went to open his mouth and defend himself but Emma brought her hand up to halt him as she finished. "You better be thinking really hard right now on what you're going to say before opening your mouth and digging yourself a deeper hole."
Killian took a moment as the blonde had suggested to try to clear his thoughts and say the right thing that would get her to come back to him, or at least listen to him. "I have changed… because of you. You make me a better man." He took a step closer to the blonde, moving to reach his hand up and cup her cheek but Emma jerked away from his touch.
"While this is all touching, it is clearly one sided. Besides, you wouldn't know change if it slapped you in the face. I can smell the rum from here." Regina quipped, causing Killian to lunge at her.
"Enough!" Emma shouted out and went to block the pirate from advancing toward Regina. When she raised her hands up however, intending to physically hold him back, a burst of energy from her hands was sent forth instead sending the pirate flying backward on to the walkway behind him.
Emma's eyes darted to her hands in front of her as she slowly brought them down, continuing to stare at them; Regina had come to her side as she sensed the magic just before it was emitted. "Emma, it's alright." The brunette stated softly as she went to rest her hands on Emma's arm, the blonde leaned away from the touch.
"No, it's not." Emma stated through her teeth. "Go inside." She was concentrating so hard to keep the magic stable, her emotions were a wreck at the moment and it was feeding off of them.
"Excuse me?" Regina took a step back, her brow drawing together in both confusion and irritation at the demand.
Emma finally looked at her, the blonde's eyes depicting a war within herself. "I said, 'Go inside'. Your snarky side remarks are only making matters worse."
Regina stood there a moment, not believing she was the one who seemed to be getting reprimanded. It was her house after all and this pirate was completely unwelcome there. Her nose flared as she fixed Emma with a cold stare, her jaw clenched, holding back a biting remark that would only lead to more hurt.
Emma knew that look. It was so reminiscent of the one she remembered the brunette giving her under the apple tree so many moons ago, except this time hurt was weaved so intricately into it. She softened her expression when she realized she had let anger control her in that instant and completely regretted being the cause of that look in Regina's eyes.
"You heard the lady." Killian stated with a grunt as he got back to his feet, brushing himself off. "I believe she has…"
Emma whirled around. "Not another word from you! I will deal with you in a minute." She snapped, cutting him off and fixing him with a glare, daring the man to challenge her. She then turned back to apologize to the brunette. "Regina, I'm…" But she was already gone, and her heart sank to the depths of fear that she had lost her this time. If she had, so help her, the pirate was going to be dead.
