To say I had an early start this morning would be an understatement. I was woken up by the doorbell at three o'clock in the morning. After the day I just had I was going to kill who ever woke me up. I climbed out of bed and made my way to the front door. I stopped when I saw Dad standing at the open door and he did not look happy to be woken up either.
"It's for you." He said to me as he stepped away from the door.
I walked around him to see who the hell was at the door this early. To my surprise it was David.
"What the hell are you doing here?" I asked him.
"Waking your ass up. We need to train." He told me.
"Train for what?" I asked him as I rubbed my eyes and walked away from the door and over to my couch.
I sat down and herd the door shut behind me. I expected David to come and sit next to me. He did not he just stood at the foot of the couch.
"Are you going to sit down?" I asked him.
"No. We have work to do." He told me.
"What work?" I asked him.
"Coach told me to train you and I am training you. We have a match coming up soon and I always run in the mornings working up to the match." He told me.
"Do you have a problem with that?" He asked me.
"I wouldn't if I got more than three hours of sleep last night." I snapped at him.
"Are you having trouble sleeping?" He asked me.
"Yes, but that's not the problem. I was out late last night." I told him.
"Out late? Didn't your dad's friend bring you home?" He asked me.
"My dad's friend?" I asked him confused.
"Yeah the old man I saw you leave the school with." He responded.
"OH you mean Peter. He's not one of my dad's friends." I told him.
"Then who is he?" He asked me.
"Peter Hales, he's Derek's uncle." I told him.
"You mean the creepy guy who has been following you around?" He asked me.
"Yeah." I answered him.
"So let me get this straight. Someone tries to kill your brother and your response is to go hang out with and old man and your stalker?" He asked me.
"Okay it's not like that." I told him.
"Then what is it like?" He asked me.
"It's complicated, and it was not just us. Stiles, and Brett was there to." I told him.
"Brett, that jerk from the other team?" He asked annoyed.
"Look I really don't want to get into this. Do you want me to get changed or do you want me to try to explain all that happened last night?" I asked him.
He took a second to think it over. I could tell he was curious but he was also not go to budge on the jog.
"Go get dressed." He said to me.
I hoped up quickly before he could change his mind and ran to my room.
I was stopped onto my way to my room by a very angry and tired looking father.
"Next time you want to go for a morning run set an alarm." He said to me before turning and disappearing back into his room.
I had to believe that if dad wasn't so tired his reaction would have been different. He must be so tired considering he came in after I did.
I quickly changed into some jogging clothes. I then threw a change of clothes into my bag so I could change before school.
"Let's go." I said to David as I threw my bag in his face.
"Hey watch it." He snapped at me.
"You wake me up you get to carry my shit." I said to him as I stormed out of my own house.
I smiled when I heard the door shut behind us. I loved getting my way. Even when I am being woken up insanely crazy in the morning. I still get to completely boss him around.
I climbed into his car and while I waited for him to climb in I sent Scott a text telling him I would not need a ride to school. I hope I did not wake him up but I knew if I did not do it know I would forget.
"So do you plan on making a habit out of waking me and my dad up?" I asked him.
"No. Next time I will call. Your dad looked like he was going to kill me." He responded with a worried smile on his face.
"That's because he was." I answered him.
The smile he had on his face quickly vanished and I could not help but laugh at him.
"That's not funny. He's scary." He responded.
"If you think he's scary now wait until you see him with his gun." I told him.
"Gun?" He asked worry filling his voice.
"Yea. He's FBI. I thought you knew."
"No I did not know." He replied to me.
"Calm down." I said to him.
"Does he know?" He asked me.
"Know about what?" I asked him confused.
"About my past. If he's FBI he could have looked me up." He said to me.
"I don't think he did that." I said to him through a smile.
"How can you be so shore?" He asked me.
"Because if he did I would not be here with you right now." I answered him.
The rest of the car ride was silent. About ten minutes later we arrived at the school. When we got out of the car it was still dark out. I was not looking forward to this.
"Are you ready?" He asked me.
"No." I responded truthfully.
"You better keep up." Was all he said to me before he took off running?
At that moment I wished I had something to throw at him. Instead I took off running after him. I quickly caught up to him and once I did he slowed his pace. I had never run before. Not really not just to run so this was knew to me. So it surprised me when I found myself liking it. It was freeing.
I was not shore how long I was running. But it must have been a long time because the sun had risen, and I was sweating. My body and lungs where hurting but I did not care. It felt great to be able to just let go and run. To not think about all your problems. The weird ass world I had fallen into. Just to not think and to just be free.
All that peace was taken away from me when something hard hit me in the back. The force from this thing was so strong that I flew forward and landed on the path in front of me.
"What the hell is wrong with you?" I herd David yell at someone.
"I'm sorry. It was an accident." A familiar voice said.
I forced myself up and looked around to see what was going on.
Once I stood up I pushed past the pain I was feeling in my arms and hands. They were undoubtable bleeding. I was surprised to see the person who ran into me was Liam.
"Did you not see her there? Are you blind?" David yelled as he grabbed Liam by the shirt.
I instantly ran over to separate the two of them. Scott had warned me about Liam's temper.
"Hey David, its okay. It was an accident. I'm shore Liam did not mean it and he's sorry. Right Liam?" I asked him.
"Yeah totally." Liam replied. "That's what I tried telling your boyfriend but he freaked out."
"He is not my boyfriend." I quickly responded.
"Who is this kid? You know him?" David asked anger filling his voice.
"Yes I know him. He's a friend." I told him.
"A friend? How did you meet him?" David asked.
"He's a friend of Scotts. Why does it matter?" I snapped at him.
"Liam do you want to come with us for the rest of our run?" I asked him.
He looked from me to David then back to me.
"You know I think I will be better off on my own." He answered me.
"Ok." I responded.
"Let's go." David said and then took off running.
"See you at school later." I said to Liam before following after David.
