I had a dream the other night
About how we only get one life
Woke me up right after two
I stayed awake and stared at you
So I wouldn't loose my mind

Castle laid there completely still, Beckett would never believe he could be unless she woke up and saw for herself which is what he was trying to avoid. He slowly turned his head to look at the clock; it was 2:47 that means he's been awake for about 30 minutes. He's spent the last 30 minutes staring at her, memorizing every little detail he could even though he's watched her enough he's sure he already has her memorized. God did he love her, he loved everything about her; the way she lightly snores but never admits it, the way she gets a slight smile on her face when she's having a good dream and how peaceful she looks.

It comforted him watching her sleep, took his mind off the dream he had, well more like nightmare really. It wasn't the first time he's dreamt about loosing her and it won't be the last but at least this time she was there next to him. It was hell dealing with them before, when he couldn't see for himself that she was alive and well.

"You're staring again." She murmured.

"Sorry," He said sheepishly.

She rolled over to face him, "What time is it?"

"About 3."

She took in the circles under his eyes, "Have another bad dream?"

He nodded, "Tried not to wake you."

Beckett cupped his cheek and turned his head to meet their eyes. "You never have to worry about waking me up when you have a bad dream. I'm here for you. Okay?"

"Okay." He said softly.

"I want you to promise me that you'll wake me up next time." She said more forcefully.

"I promise," He assured her.

"Do you want to talk about it?" She knew he probably wouldn't but asked anyways.

He shook his head and pulled her against him. "Just having you here helps."

She felt his breathing even out and knew he was asleep so she gave him a soft kiss against his cheek. "Sweet dreams Castle."
