Girl falls into One Piece

Chapter 7

Blue Jam, Tradegy and End of Childhood

A little bit later since the old man left everything went back to normal. We all still did our fights and I knew I was getting stronger. I and Luffy being 8 and Sabo and Ace being 11 didn't change much. It was raining right now and we were playing Pirate Ship again. Even if it was really childish, I loved it. Hey, if you look like a child, I can at least act the part. Luffy was hanging on the flag and I was with Ace in the middle of the tree. He was yelling to Luffy. "Watch the flag Luffy! It's uncool to have your flag be blown away!"

I agreed with that, a pirate flag is like a symbol of honor and power. The wind was picking up. The weather was getting really bad and I was a little worried for Luffy. He needs to hang on before he gets hurt. Ace and Sabo started screaming at the wind and it made me grin. I whipped around when the wind came full force and Luffy yelling.

My eyes widened in shock as I saw Luffy swinging from the top as his yelling became more clear. "Help me!"

Sabo and Ace at first screamed his name, but then laughed at him, I glared. "Jerks! Help him!"

Ace bonked me on the head. "Shut up, he'll be fine."

I scowled and turned to Sabo. "Come on, Sabo."

I frowned at him and he sighed. "Fine, let's help him."

Ace glared, but we got him down. He grinned and hugged me. We hid away as the storm continued and only came out when the storm stopped and the sun was shining. I had my sword while they had their pipes. Ace said. "Well the hideout is destroyed, so we need new materials."

Luffy shouted. "I want a telescope!"

We might be able to get one. The Grey Terminal has plenty of things, you just have to know where to look. Ace decided to be a asshole by saying. "Baka! You will never find something like that there."

Sabo said. "I'd rather find a cannon."

I rolled my eyes. "I want something better than this wooden sword."

Ace laughed. "Yeah, sure! Where are you going to find a sword in this dump?"

I glared and snapped. "I just wanted one, that's all I said!"

He snorted, but we kept moving on. Luffy kept on getting excited about finding a telescope. After walking a bit through the forest, we made it to the Grey Terminal. Luffy was looking for that telescope and I could not find anything worth using for a sword, not that I expected to.

Luffy called. "Ace, I can't find a telescope!"

They were also looking around. Ace called back. "We're not here for a telescope, find building materials!"

Luffy called. "Mace, help me!"

I shrugged and walked over to him. I dug around and told Luffy. "What I learned is you need to search deep in here to get what you need."

He nodded and helped me look. I looked around with a frown and called to Ace. "Oi, where's Sabo!?"

He looked around with a confused look, seeing that we had lost him. We then heard a commotion and Sabo surrounded by big men. I glared feeling anger boil within me. Do they ever learn?! Ace found a barrel and we got in and rolled into the men. I fell on the ground as my head started to spin. Shaking my head lightly, I stood up and looked at Sabo; at least he's not hurt.

Ace said. "If the four of us fight these fools, we could win easily!"

I agreed, all of us were really strong now. Luffy shouted. "We even beat the tiger at Mount Corvo!"

I nodded. "Yeah!"

We could get good practice on these wimps. I put my wooden sword in my right hand and put one foot in front of the other, my eyes wary, but ready to fight. The bigger guys were pissed at getting hurt by little kids. We ran at them and I ducked a swing and smashed the butt of my sword in the guy's lower stomach. He doubled over and I smashed it into his skull.

He went down quickly and I looked to see the other three of them done with already. We ran at the guy who was Blue Jam and I felt rage, he was one of the reasons Luffy was beaten to a pulp with a spiky glove. He shot at us and I saw Sabo and Ace run one way, so I tackled Luffy the other way and Luffy covered his face with a wooden board.

Blue Jam said. "Don't move brats!"

Ace stood up. "I'm not afraid of that!"

He was grabbed and before I could attack I and Sabo were too. I struggled with a growl and tried to get loose. My sword was on the ground and his arms were around my throat and chin. Luffy was stopped too and I yelled. "Let you go, you fuckers! Let him go! Let me the hell go!"

The guy shook me a bit and I balled my fists. What could I do, just grind my teeth and loose my breath? All three of them were screaming, what could I do? My brothers need help; come on use your older brain. All I could was grit my teeth. That's it!

I tilted my chin down, opening my mouth and chopped hard on the man's arm. I shook my head back and forth till I broke skin and the guy dropped me in shock. I was about to run and do something when I was kicked in the face leaving a throbbing pain on the right side of my face.

I was grabbed tightly by the middle and my three brothers screamed at him. "What the hell is wrong with you?!"

I struggled some more, but he tighted his arms around my stomach. I almost gagged from the pain it caused. I spit the blood out of my mouth. Before anything could be said a stomping came by like Marine shoulders from my world and I looked to see men with green shirts and gas masks on, along with guns. A man that I recognized as Sabo's father was here. I glared, knowing he must be responsible somehow.

Sabo's father said. "It looks like we made it just in time."

The pirate was walking toward them, the one that had Sabo and I growled as Ace shouted. "Sabo!"

I called. "Let him go!"

I was ignored, which I did not like at all. Sabo's father said. "They are the one who tempted Sabo into evil."

My eyes widened in anger at his words. How dare he say that, he was the one that drove him out? Luffy shouted. "Give him back!"

Sabo's father said loudly. "What do you mean, give him back? He's mine."

I glared. "You're just a crappy father."

He glared at me and looked at the pirate holding me. The guy moved his hands to my arms, slamming me on the ground and it jarred my shoulder. My cheek was in the dirt as my hands were behind my back. I lifted my head and looked as Sabo, Ace and Luffy shouted their protests at my treatment.

I grunted. "I'm fine! It's not like he could hurt me."

My arms were pushed a little higher and I winced and stayed silent. Sabo's father continued. "Kids are brought into this world to do as their parents say."

I scowled what kind of stupid ass fucking logic is that? Sabo's father shouted at us. "What do you want, my money?"

I tried to hop up in rage, but was kept down. Ace was slammed into the ground for jumping up and blood from him hit Sabo's father and he flipped out saying he didn't want that filth touching him.

Sabo slipped away and said. "Stop it! Nobody tempted me. I ran away from my own free will!"

His father yelled. "Stay out of this!"

I squirmed; he has every right to be in this. Two green shirted guys grabbed Sabo and Sabo's father was about to leave us with the pirates. Sabo yelled. "Dad, I understand!"

Sabo father looked at him and asked. "What do you understand?"

I was wondering the same thing even if it was repulsive thinking the same thing as that guy. Ace yelled. "Don't do it, Sabo!"

What is he thinking that freaked out Ace so much? I looked at Sabo's face and figured he was going to do something. Sabo said. "I'll do as you say, I'll live with you so…please don't hurt these three. I'm begging you, they are important to me. They are my brothers."

My eyes widened as I felt tears in them, he can't do that! He will be miserable from what he told us. He will be doing it just to protect us. Ace yelled. "Don't go, you don't have to worry about us! You said you wanted to live freely!"

I went to agree, but my mouth was dry when I opened it and no matter how many times I licked my lips or swallowed, I couldn't say anything. Luffy yelled. "Sabo, don't go!"

I found my voice and yelled. "Sabo! Come on, don't leave! Please! You don't have to listen, we ain't scared of them!"

He turned away and my chest felt tight. No! Right when I actually felt happy. I yelled loudly. "Sabo! Don't g-go!"

I voice cracked a little and I shut my eyes tightly and calmed my breathing so I didn't started bawling. If Luffy could hold it in, I can too. They all walked off. The pirates were talking to each other, but I ignored then until I was grabbed and we were brought onto their boat tied up with rope close to each other. Of course, we were fighting, cursing and screaming the whole way and still doing so.

Luffy yelled. "You bastard, untie me! Fight me again! I won't lose this time!"

I struggled; I needed to think of a way to get Sabo back now that my emotions were in check. I hated that I almost lost myself and knew I had to hold my emotions back better.

Ace screamed at them. "Why did you bring us here?"

Blue Jam spoke. "It must be nice being a noble, don't you think, brats? They look down on others and treat people like trash. It's an easy life, don't you think?"

I frowned with an angry look. Just because you have money does not mean life is easy, only society thinks that.

Ace didn't understand as he asked him what he meant.

Luffy said. "Being a pirate is way better, that's what Sabo said."

I nodded; Sabo is one of the good ones. We don't really have people like that in my time, maybe really rich people, but not quite noble, at least in America we don't.

Blue Jam said. "I feel bad for you, untie them."

While they did this, Blue Jam continued talking. "Why do you think a noble moved to the Gray Terminal?"

We were up and Luffy was growling at the pirates. Ace was glaring and I had narrowed eyes, evaluating all the pirates around and keeping on guard. I had a hand on Luffy's head or hat and it calmed him a little, but he was still fuming, not that I blamed him, I'm pissed off too.

Blue Jam went on. "He did it as a mockery of the people here, just like the adult nobles do. I bet he was looking down on you too."

Ace yelled. "That's not true, Sabo wouldn't do that."

I agreed with him. You can't just fake something like that, the brotherly bond we shared. We all care for each other.

After Luffy screamed at him, Blue Jam said. "Yeah? Alright, I'm sorry. You're not planning on bothering that brat, are you? If you are planning on doing that, I'll have to kill you all. If you care about him, it's best to leave him alone."

I stiffened and glared, the protective feeling coming over me. I scowled, fed up. Sabo must be all alone and miserable. Luffy shouted. "But Sabo hates High Town!"

Blue Jam said. "You have to let go if you really care about him. You'll understand when you get older…and I have an axe to grind with you after what you did with Porchemy. But we can forget about it with your show of strength. That's why I got something you might be interested in. I'm short-handed. Do you guys want to work for me?"

We all drew back in shock, that is the most stupid thing I ever heard, all that he's done to us and he asked that?! He continued. "This is a map of the Gray Terminal."

A map on a barrel with a knife in it was showed. "All you have to do is carry packages to the locations located on the map. Will you do it?"

I was fed up with this bastard and said. "That's the stupidest idea I even heard, why would we do that? You made us lose Sabo and tried to-"

Ace said.

"Alright, how much will you pay?"

I whipped my head to glare at him. "Ace, why the hell would-"

He gave me a pissed glare. "Mason, shut up."

The use of my full name and cold look in his eyes froze me and Blue Jam laughed while Luffy glared some more.

/ / / / / / / /

So we were now caring packages that were in crates and had red flags on them. We were with two pirates and after a while, Luffy asked Ace. "Ace, I don't like it when Sabo's not around."

I agreed with him, except for that one week apart, we were always together. Ace answered him. "Live with it, I don't like it either. I wanna rescue Sabo too."

I scowled. "Maybe we could instead of having to carry these dumb boxes."

Ace rolled his eyes. "Shut up and deal with it, we'll be done soon."

Ace answered Luffy. "I don't really know what's best for him, he'll be fine."

I shook my head, I know he might be safe physically, but I know he must be upset. Because Blue Jam was wrong, Sabo loved being with us! Ace continued. "Let's just do this and get money for our pirate fund."

I knew then he was talking to both of us. I sighed and said. "Yeah, sure."

Anyway, its delivering boxes, what could go wrong?

If only I knew.

/ / / / / / / / / / / / /

We spent the whole day bring the stuff back and forth, but it was time to go back home. We left the pirates and went back to our hideout. Ace grabbed all the pillows and blankets and I laid next to Luffy as he laid next to Ace, basically Luffy was in the middle of me and Ace. It felt strange and empty without Sabo here, I wanted him back.

Luffy sighed as I tried to get some sleep. "I wonder how Sabo's doing."

I groaned, wishing Luffy wouldn't bring it up when I was so upset about it and no doubt Ace was too, but I knew Luffy was one to always speak him mind.

Ace seemed to feel the same as he said. "Shut up and get some sleep. We agreed to let Sabo go for now."

Luffy whispered to me. "Mace, you miss him too, right?"

I sighed deeply and whispered back. "Yeah, Luf. Maybe we'll see him in a day or two from now."

I yawned, a little tired. It was quiet and no matter how tired I was, I could not get to sleep. I heard Ace say. "This could be better for him."

I frowned at that. "No."

Ace looked at me and snapped. "What the hell are you talking about?"

I glared back at him.

"I said no Ace! You know he was happy with us!"

He was about to say something, but was interrupted by Luffy mumbling. "Sabo...telescope".

We looked to see him talking in his sleep. I lied back down and smirked as I saw Ace cover him up. Curling in my own blanket, I mumbled. "Night, Ace."

I was just falling asleep and heard a soft. "Night, Mace."

Smiling, I went off to sleep.

/ / / / / / / / / /

Morning after trying to get Luffy up (which was a task) and eating breakfast, we met up with Blue Jam in the Grey Terminal, even if I didn't like it. I looked at the ground as Ace talked to Blue Jam. I saw my sword and grinned. With all the excitement from last night, I forgot about it. I moved a little bit away and grabbed my sword. I walked back to where I was, at least now I had a weapon.

Blue Jam said. "There will be a big task for you later."

I suspected he was talking about all three of us instead of just Ace. We stood around and I asked wary, not liking the way he said it. "And what is that?"

Blue Jam smirked. "Burn down the Grey Terminal."

My jaw dropped in shock and Luffy shouted. "What the hell would you burn it down!?"

Blue Jam said. "You fool! Don't scream! No one can know about this!"

I glared, I knew this was a bad idea, but Ace had to agree. Luffy was stomping around as he yelled. "This is serious! I have to tell everybody! I knew he was a bad guy!"

And Ace calls him dumb! I shouted. "Yeah! A lot of people live in here too! What about them!?"

I was thinking of Austin, my mentor. He needed to live, he was important to me already. What Blue Jam said made my blood boil even more.

"So what? Life's like that."

Here's the thing, I had a really bad temper. Usually I get annoyed at small things like with Ace bothering me. But, when I really get ticked off, then I have a temper. I felt my face going red. Blue Jam seemed to piss Ace and Luffy off too, so they were screaming and I was fuming as I shook lightly.

He said. "I said quiet down."

We were grabbed from behind and I squirmed around, sick of being manhandled these past couple of days. I was swearing under my breath. While all three of us tried to get loose (with me looking at Ace and Luffy every little bit) Blue Jam said. "I'm not the master mind."

Ace looked shocked and he was probably wondered who would think of something this sick. I was thinking the same thing. I know how cruel the world can be, but I never met anyone this sick. The bandit was a coward so that's not different and Dadan was rude and mean, but she's not bad. Blue Jam continued, man does this guy like the sound of his voice or what?

"Those were oils and explosives in the boxes you carried yesterday and today. And there is going to be a fire nobody can escape from."

Luffy said. "No!"

Ace grunted out, panting heavy. "Are you out of your mind?"

I agreed with that. I don't think he would seal his own death like that unless he either has a deal with this so called 'master mind' or if he was just suicidal. I'm looking at the former answer though. I don't think he is the suicide type. Anyway, Blue Jam laughed and said. "Even punk kids like you are freaking out. But now you know about the plan and we can't let you go."

I squirmed when he said this; I would not let him kill Ace or Luffy. We need to get away to warn everyone and find Sabo. Even if I know it won't be as easy as it sounds.

Blue Jam asked us. "I want to ask you something before the fire. Say, you three, do you have any hidden treasure anywhere?"

My eyes bulged out of my sockets in shock. People are dying and all he cares about it is the treasure. We were dropped on our asses.

I looked at Ace and Luffy. Luffy was pissed and Ace had a look in his eyes, a really cold look. He locked eyes with me and they seemed to get a little softer. I looked at him with eyes that said. What-do-we-do!

He scowled but said nothing as he broke eye contact. My hands were balled into fists. I realized my sword was beneath my feet and I picked it up as it was beside me. I just glared, pissed off about everything.

I did what I always did when I was not feeling right. I took my left hand and put it into the pocket of my shorts and clutched the watch tight. It felt like I had Shanks here with us as I held it, no matter how stupid it sounded or corny, it was the truth.

They the grabbed us again and I yelled out, squirmed and tried to bite them, but to avail. Luffy and Ace were doing the same. The walk us to a boat and the time we got there, I had a split lip and Luffy and Ace were bruised up. We were tied to the pole thingy in the boat. Luffy and Ace were on opposite sides and me in the middle on the right. The crew left laughing and the last I heard from them was Blue Jam's cruel sick laughter.

We were moving around, but could not get loose. Soon the air started getting hot and fire was licking the deck of the boat. My widened and I slammed my back into the pole and curled my feet to my chest as the boat stared getting hotter and more fire was coming in.

I could hear Luffy panicking and I could help to yelp out. "AH, IT STARTED!"

Ace yelled. "NO SHIT, MACE! Wait, I found something!"

I looked to feel him sawing at the ropes with something and I stopped squirming to make it easier. Luffy was crying out. "It's hot! It's hot!"

I said loudly. "Luffy, calm down!"

He did a little, but was still freaking out and I was trying to stay calm by breathing deeply in and out. Suddenly we were cut free and I fell on my stomach, but scrambled up to my feet. I pulled Luffy upright. He fell back to the floor. "I don't wanna die!"

I really want to help Luffy, but we need to get out of here and I won't let him die like this even if I have to, he won't die!

I yanked Luffy up as Ace said. "Stop complaining or I'll leave you behind!"

I glared, but said nothing. He's scared, we all are! We ran off the boat and had to dodge fire as my heart was lodge deep in my throat at every turn. We were following Ace and Luffy kept on saying it hot and then it's not hot. It was getting on my nerves.

We stopped for a second and Luffy said. "I can't breathe."

Then he made a face and said. "Yes, I can."

I sighed annoyed and snapped. "Don't talk and you'll be able to!"

He looked at me hurt and I decided if we lived through this, I would say sorry, just not now. Ace looked at both of us. "It alright! I'm here with both of you!"

Looking at him made me more determined to be tougher, so I narrowed my eyes with a nod. We started running again and I hissed when fire hit my arm and burned it bad. I hissed and grabbed my arm. Ace looked back at me. "Mace! You okay?!"

I nodded and said. "Yeah!"

I ran a little faster huffing at the running and the heat of the fire. Luffy was slowing down and I grabbed his hand in a state of panic and pulling his forward as Ace yelled. "Come on, Luffy, Mace!"

I pulled him even more and I screamed a little when it stretched. I grabbed under his arm and it went back to normal and I decided to just grab his hand instead of pulling. Ace was urging us on. We were running and Ace jumped out of the way and I stopped as a couple of fire covered beams almost hit us.

Luffy wondered. "I wonder if those old men got out safe."

I winced and hoped Austin got out. Ace yelled. "There is no time to be concerned about other people! Damn, I can't see a thing!"

I couldn't see anything either. I suddenly heard a scream that I recognized. It was Austin! My eyes widened and I yelled. "I have to find him!"

I was about to run off without thinking, but then someone grabbed my arm. I looked to see Ace. My eyes were looking all over and he barked. "Stay here Idiot! What the hell do you think you are doing?!"

I yelled back. "I have to save Austin, I heard him!"

He yelled back to me. "No! Worry about yourself!"

I tried to pull away, my mind clouded by panic, but his grip tightened on my arm so hard it hurt. He yanked me closer to him and I cursed and spat at him. He didn't let go, just held on tighter.

I then heard a voice I hated. "You think we'd let you brats go?"

It was Blue Jam and I was filled with not just fury, but hatred and malice thoughts when I saw who he had. It was Austin! He was bleeding all over and his hand was hacked off and it was his sword hand too. It was tied in cloth, but blood was dripping from it. I gave a whimper at the sight when I saw him. He was so strong when he was training me.

Ace said. "Why are you here after setting the fire? You were supposed to have escaped by now!?"

I was seething with rage, not even being able to think. Blue Jam screamed. "Shut up, you little shit!"

I felt Ace tense.

Blue Jam sneered. "Were hopeless, you know. We have an unforeseen dilemma. Humans are strange creatures aren't they? When you hit rock bottom, you can't stop laughing."

I was shaking, my eyes bulging out of their sockets and I felt my face turning red. Luffy said. "They are acting weird."

I looked at them and froze despite the anger. I looked into their eyes and knew. They went insane, something made them snap. Ace noticed too. "Luffy, Mace! Let's go!"

I yelled. "Not without Austin!"

Ace yelled. "NOW!"

He pulled my arm and I was yanked despite my tries to get away. That must have been his scream, they chopped his hand off. I shivered. We tried to run, but was blocked by more insane pirates. I need to get us and Austin out of here. Blue Jam said. "We're friends, we will die together!"

Me and Ace both yelled. "We don't wanna die with you!"

Blue Jam just smiled as I looked at Austin, hopeless.

"So cold. Come to think of it, you haven't told where you kept the treasure. If you don't tell us. I'll kill this old man."

I screamed at the top of my lungs. "BASTARD, GIVE HIM BACK!"

Ace said as Blue Jam smirked at me. "Were in danger and all you care about is the treasure?"

Blue Jam laughed. "If you don't care, tell me where it is."

Ace was in shock as he said. "You gone mad."

I was fuming in hate and I even felt my face turn purple. He dares use…Austin against me!

Blue Jam said "If you don't give to me, it will be reduced to charcoal like my ship and this man's life will be lost."

I heard a quiet voice I knew to be Austin's. "Shut the hell up."

Blue Jam instead of getting mad merely pressed on his stump of a hand and he screamed in pain. Luffy started screaming 'no they wouldn't' and Ace looked at me and turned back to him as he said."Fine, we'll do it."

Luffy stopped short and so did I. Luffy screamed at him and said Sabo would understand. He said. "All that matters is both of…I mean our lives."

I gasped and looked at eyes, my throat tightened. Ace drew then a map and I was looking worriedly at Austin, he was breathing heavy. I said. "There! Give him back!"

I was grabbed once again and we were all dragged away with him as he said we had to go with him. Ace was screaming at him and the he pointed a gun at Ace and I froze as Blue Jam said. "You don't wanna mess with me right now."

Mad, he's gone insane.

Blue Jam grinned wildly. "I will make my comeback, even if it means stealing from little kids. I will get revenge on those nobles and your brother is one of look down on us as if we're trash."

Ace yelled. "Sabo isn't like that!"

Blue Jam yelled. "He is the same. He was with the three of to feel like an emperor!"

Ace and Luffy were yelling at him and I was getting pissed. I felt like I was going to snap. Let's see here...

1. My brother was taken to somewhere he didn't want to go.

2. I am a part of a fire and murder I didn't know about.

3. My mentor was hurt as he got his hand chopped off and I can't do anything.

4. They threaten me with his life.

5. They insult my brother….

That's it.

"SHUT UP!"

It was quiet and I felt strange. I yelled. "Let us the fuck go. Let the old man go and burn in hell!"

He was furious and he glared. "I warned you brat."

He was currently holding Austin around the stomach, but he had him now by his neck. I gaped as he slowly pulled out his sword with crazed grin on his face. I yelled. "Don't do it!"

He stared at me, evil intent in his eyes and his sword was in Austin's stomach. I let out a scream I wasn't even sure was human as Luffy and Ace screamed.

No one can survive a stab to the stomach like that. I snapped, my eyes were as wide as they ever were, I was shaking all over, I was choking on sobs that wouldn't come out and my hands were scratching at these guys arms. Trying to vault myself over to him. Biting, scratching kicking, punching. Anything I could think of. He tossed him in the fire. I watched my mentor die before my eyes. I could still hear Austin's screams until they died out.

Luffy bit someone and they dropped me. Eyes filled with hate, I lunged myself at Blue Jam but he kicked me in the stomach. I kept on going at him. I was getting stomped on, but I didn't care.

I then heard Ace yell. "Don't touch them!"

A weird thing happened and everyone fell but Blue Jam. He was shocked and I was trying to rush at him, but he threw me away and tossed me near Luffy. I froze when I saw Luffy's bloody face. I crawled near him the same time as Ace. Blue Jam grabbed Ace .

I growled, he will not hurt kill another person important to me!

He grabbed him and threw him on the ground. He pointed a gun on him after he screamed and stomped on him. Before he could pull the trigger and I leapt over and covered his body with mine and I heard 2 voices yell. "MACE!"

I felt no pain at all and I was shocked. I stayed still until I heard Luffy shout. "Dadan!"

My eyes widened, she came here to save us?! I rolled off Ace and his eyes were wide and he looked at me with such shock he couldn't say anything. I smiled at him and looked at Dadan.

She had a huge axe in her hand and she swung it and said. "Let go of them."

Blue Jam blocked the axe with his sword. I just watched, amazed. I saw Ace was fine and crawled over to Luffy and I heard stomping and feared it was those guys, but was relieved to see the bandits instead. Luffy asked. "What are you guys doing here?"

Dogra said as he kneeled next to Luffy. "These are some serious wounds Luffy, are you okay?"

I looked him over and winced, I was supposed to look after him. Dogra said. "I don't see Sabo."

I answered. "He's back home."

Ace was standing with his pipe in his hand glaring at Blue Jam in front of a group of bandits. I paled once I saw the look on his face. It was the usual I'm-not-going-to-run- look. He better not pull this here. Blue Jam said. "You're the Boss Monkey from Mt. Corvo."

She answered. "I'm the mountain bandit Dadan. I don't know why, but I'm registered as their foster parent."

I smiled, from all the meanness, she's a softie. One of the bandits picked up Luffy and I was happy he was getting out of here.

"I won't stand by and let them take my kids life even if I'm not their real parent. I let you go if you go away, but if you don't, I'll have to resort to violence!" Dadan then yelled run and her plus all the bandits started running.

I would have laughed if the situation was not so serious. She talked so big and then just ran away. Ace and the rooster guy I could never name was trying to pull Ace away and I walked next to him. Ace said. "I…won't run!"

I shook my head, he never knows when to quit, does he? Dogra freaked out and screamed. "What are you saying Ace?! Don't try to fight him. Blue Jam is a real villain. A kid like you can't beat him!"

Dadan came over and said. "Take Mace and Luffy and go!"

I snapped. "I want to fight!"

Ace whipped around. "No, you leave!"

I said. "No!"

He yelled. "Yes!"

I growled. "Why the hell should I?"

He took his hands and balled them in my shirt and lifted me a little and screamed in my face. "I DON'T WANT YOU TO DIE! LISTEN FOR ONCE IN YOUR LIFE AND GO! I STILL DIDN'T FORGET ABOUT WHAT YOU DID!"

He then threw me into the bandits and I was shell shocked at what he did. I had spit on my face, but was too shocked to wipe it off. One of the bandits picked me up in his arms and for some reason they were comforting even if I felt numb. I didn't pay attention anything else as I felt if I had frozen.

All I knew was the thumping of the footsteps and that was all I could register. We stopped and Luffy was crying about Ace. I shut my eyes tightly and covered my ears. I hate to hear Luffy cry like that. It cracks my heart into a dozen pieces no matter how stupid it sounds, I care about him. I am supposed to protect him.

They were crying for Dadan and I knew I had to keep my head clear. I let everything go to the back of my mind that happened today. They let Luffy go and I walked over to him. I grabbed his hand and he looked at me. I grimaced at the blood on his face and said. "Come on, Luffy. Ace is strong and Dadan is there too. Let's go back and wait."

He was sniffling and I sighed as the bandits started back, but Dogra and Rooster Man was waiting for us. I said. "Come on Luffy, get on my back."

I crouched down and for once he was quiet as he did what I said. He had his arms around my neck and I grunted at the extra weight, but knew I could handle it or I had to. I started walked and soon enough Luffy's head fell on my shoulder and he was snoring in my ear. Smiling, I walked on, happy to do something right. We walked to the hut and Dogra cleaned up Luffy and we both lay down and went to sleep close to each other.

I woke up to a voice saying loudly. "Easy, easy, Luffy! Wait-where are you going?"

I felt the spot for Luffy and jumped up when I saw him scaling the wall, still weak. I walked over to him. My body was a little stiff and my bruises hurt a lot, but other than that, I was fine. Luffy said. "I got to look for Ace and Dadan."

I frowned, I wanted to look for them too. It was the Rooster Man who told him he could not. Luffy ran out the door before I could catch him and fell. I ran out and skid to a stop. "Luffy!"

Rooster Man picked him up and they set him on a mat on the floor and took out a first aid kit. I was right behind his head and had his hat in my lap. I bit my lip as it wobbled looking at him in pain. I bowed my head and whispered. "S-sorry, Luffy! I could not protect you!"

I felt him grab my hand in pain and I sighed, dammit I always fail at this, what kind of brother am I? Dogra said. "There are a lot of troops in the Grey Terminal to take care of the fire. It's not just burned junk their taking care of, but survivors too."

I scowled. What, trying to kill them was not enough, they had to make sure they were dead?! "They will kill the both of you if you go."

I bowed my head even lower in understanding. Luffy yelled as tears went down his face from what I could hear in his voice. "I wanna see Ace. I know Sabo misses us too. Mace, you agree right?"

I took my hand out of his and stood up, a dark look coming to my face. Luffy repeated. "Right Mace?"

I replied, a little lost. "Yeah…"

I made sure the hat was beside Luffy as I look toward the door. I said. "I'm going outside."

Dogra said. "Mace, you can't leave-"

I said quietly. "I'm going outside."

I stepped around the other bandits and sat down right outside the hut. I was in a crisscrossed position. I stared straight ahead, not even thinking, just looking at the sky. I could hear Luffy's cries, but ignored them. Not matter how much they hurt. I was sitting and I saw Dogra leave the house forgetting I was there and ran off out of here somewhere. I sighed, they should be back soon. I believe what I said, Ace and Dadan won't die.

My jaw dropped when I saw who was coming. Ace and Dadan, but Ace was carrying her. I ran back to the hut and shouted. "Luffy! Luffy! They're back!"

He grinned as I ran out with him behind me and we were in front of them. Hey looked like shit and Ace was missing a shoe, but they were alive. Now all we need was Sabo! A bunch of bandits were pulling Dadan off of him. I followed Ace closely as he walked into the hut, Luffy following close behind. Ace took his shirt off and was about to put a new one on, but then Luffy hugged him crying.

I bit my lip, it's expected of Luffy, but I was really worried…Throwing caution to the wind, I hugged him tightly. He stiffened for a minute. I waited with baited breath, but was too over joyed he was alive. Ace said. "Did you both think I was dead?!"

Luffy was blubbering and Ace punched him in the head. My eyes snapped to his with a glare. "Now, wait a minute-"

Ace punched me and then grabbed the front of my shirt. "AND YOU…what the hell was that thing you pulled, Idiot?! Jumping in front of me like that! Don't do it again!"

He was shaking me back and forth roughly and harshly making my head bob up and down fast. I groaned as he punched me in the head over my bump and tossed me on the floor.

I winced and rubbed my head. Jerk. Rooster Man calmed him down before Ace could light us a new one. As we sat around Dadan later on, they asked what happened and Ace told them. He told how she ran through the fire first instead of Ace when they beat Blue Jam and got burned badly. I admired that about her and she was not some old hag to me anymore and I felt bad for her injuries.

He then stole supplies and saved Dadan's life or did his best to, but then he heard Goa Kingdom's soldiers and guards around. I was just grateful they both are alive and Rooster man echoed my thoughts. I was one side of Ace, Luffy on the other. Dadan was waking up and she said quietly. "Sorry, if I made you worry".

Ace said. "I can't believe what happened to the Grey Terminal. I wonder if Sabo is wondering about us."

I said, a little distant. "I think he is, we should see him too."

Luffy smiled at that and Ace seemed more relaxed. Later on, Luffy went outside with that dog and it was just me, Ace and Dadan in the room. I sighed and got up. Ace asked. "Where are you going?"

I said. "With Luffy."

I sat next to him as he rambled on with the dog and asked me something every once in a while. I smiled at how happy he was now. Luffy then got bored and suddenly tackled me so I was on my back. I laughed as he jumped off and said. "Tag! You're it!"

I stuck my tongue. "Naw, I'm tired."

He pouted and pounced on me. I grunted at the weight and he grinned a grin that made me a little nervous; it was a little similar to Garp's when he thinks of training. He said. "Hey Mace."

I sighed. "What Luf?"

He grinned. "Remember what Shanks used to do whenever he wanted you to do somethin' you didn't want to do?"

I answered. "Yeah, he used to tick-" I stopped myself, saying in a warning town. "Don't even think about it Luffy!"

He already started digging his hands into my sides and I yelped and squirmed about. I laughed out loud at this and he laughed too and then I over powered him and flipped him over. I stood up as he pouted and he stood up too. After enough begging, I played tag with him and it was about dusk and I watched him have some weird interest in beetles.

I looked up when Luffy called. "Hey! You were looking for Ace and Dadan, right? They're here!"

Dorga was coming toward us. Dorga said. "Yeah, right. Sure."

I frowned, something was wrong. He told us both to come in the house. He then had a depressed look on his face and I could tell I would not like this. He gulped and said. "Sabo…is dead!"

I looked at him shocked, no way is Sabo dead! Ace yelled. "Stop lying, you fool! Don't even joke about it!"

Ace tackled him and lifted a fist to punch him and Rooster Man tried to stop it. Dogra said. "I'm not lying or joking about it! It was so sudden; I could barely believe what I saw! I thought I was dreaming!"

I was losing my breath as I took in deep breathes and Ace said. "Shut up! How can that be when he was home!"

That does also doesn't make sense. Luffy yelled. "Yeah, he went home."

I was silent, if I said anything, I would start balling. Dogra cried out. "A hoodlum like me knows how he feels. To want to get away from home!"

He threw Ace off and I didn't react. Dogra's voice increased in volume. "If he was really happy, he wouldn't go out to sea! He wouldn't go out to sea with a black flag on his ship!"

I gasped in shock, a black flag meant piracy, and everyone knew that. It was silent and the only wind was heard. Suddenly, Luffy was crying and he called out. "Sabo… He wasn't happy!"

Ace was clutching his head yelling and I fell on my behind and was shaking and in shock. I kept on looking everywhere and just noticed Ace jump on Dogra again. Ace yelled. "Where is the guy that killed Sabo!? I'll kill him!"

Dogra answered. "K-kill the Celestial Dragon! That's impossible!"

Ace ran off with his pipe and was about to go out the door, but Dadan slammed his head into the floor. She yelled. "Stop, you little shit!"

She yelled as she hovered over him. "How can you be so confident when you are not that strong?! What will you do, they will just kill you?! You die and people will forget you tomorrow! You're just a nameless kid! Sabo was killed by this country, this world! What are you going to do about it?! You're father changed the world by his death! When you get that important, then you can do what the hell you want!"

She threw him away with the order to tie him up and they took him outside. I snapped out of it. My mind showing me what happened today. Austin dying right in front of me. I have nothing, I lost him, his sword that he gave me. Sabo died. My brother is dead. I hard Luffy screaming but I ignored it.

My head hit the floor with a clunk, but I didn't care. Why should I? My hands reached to burrow deeply in my hair and I tugged hard, way harder when I first got here. I yanked so hard that my head was pulled back. I opened my mouth as tears fell down my face like waterfalls. I lost two people in one day! When will my own personal hell ever end!

I then screamed, roared and yelled my lungs out as loud as I could, my anguish in it, the pain of loss. I tugged harder on my hair. I was till screaming until my throat felt raw and then I screamed some more. I felt like this huge weight was on my shoulders, like I was drowning. I had disbelief that they could die and so quickly too.

My breath was getting shallow and I could not get oxygen into my head properly. They are both dead, I can't take this. People wonder why I can't get close to people. I was sobbing, shaking, not getting enough breathe in me and I yanked my hands harder and felt a bad pain. I looked at my hands and saw chunks of my hair in my palms. I didn't care and was screaming, sobbing all over again. My breathing of shallow breaths got bad and I hit my head a second time on the floor and passed out.

/ / / / / / / / /

I woke up and was handed a bowl of rice, I ate it robotically and slowly. I stood up and walked outside into the woods and climbed up our old tree house. I choked on a sob, but climb up and sat in the middle, recalling everything, the memories we shared. After a while of brooding out there, I decided to look for Luffy and I found out he was not at the hut so walked up the cliff we made our promises and dreams at.

I saw him lying down with the straw hat over his head and I sat next to him, taking the watch and just stared at it. I can't even protect people! What was Shanks thinking, giving me this.

I closed my eyes and sighed, I don't know what to do. I felt a punch to my head and knew it was Ace and for once I did not react. Ace asked. "How much longer are you both going to stay here?"

I shrugged and Ace continued. "All the treasure inside the forest is gone. The survivors took it or maybe the Military. I don't know where it went, but I don't care about treasure anymore. That was the pirate savings I was going to share with Sabo. But Sabo didn't need it after all, so I'll just let it go too."

Luffy said. "Ace…Mace…I…I wanna become stronger! More…more…more…more…more…more…more…I wanna become stronger! That way I can protect anyone or anything! I don't want to lose anybody! Ace don't die, Mace you neither!"

I looked at him shocked, I could never promise that. For his life, I would die and then do it again in a heartbeat. Ace screamed at him about it and punched him, but I said nothing. He then said. "Luffy, Mace, listen up! I will never die!"

I looked at him and said. "You better not be lying!"

Luffy sat up and my eyes were leaking tears because of this whole conversation. Ace said. "Listen Sabo told me to watch both of you, I will never die! I can't leave wimpy brothers like you behind. I'm not smart, so I don't really know what killed Sabo yet. But it must be something opposed to freedom. Sabo died before he knew freedom. We exchanged the same cup of sake and were alive! So listen Luffy, Mace we have to live life with no regrets."

What he said and it made me come up with an idea for my real dream. I smirked lightly and declared. "That's it! I found it out!"

They both looked at me and Ace asked. "What?"

I exclaimed. "What my dream will be instead of just an adventure! Just because Sabo is dead, does not mean his dream has to be. I don't care what I have to do; I will have a great adventure and then write it all down like he wanted to do!"

I felt happiness instead of pain and Luffy actually gave me a grin and Ace smiled. "We have to get out to sea one day and live as we like. Freer than anyone else. That means we'll make enemies of many people. Even the old man will be our enemy, we have to risk everything. Let's go out to sea at 17 and become pirates!"

I agreed with that a lot and then I decided it was time to reveal where I was from. I said in a serious tone. "Remember when Sabo told us who his parents were? I had a secret at the time too and I've decided to tell you now."

They had their full attention on me now. I said bluntly. "I come from the future."

They stared blankly at me and I said. "I come from a future where there are no pirates at all."

I explained to them the way I got here and shut my eyes in fear of what they would say. Luffy laughed a little. "I have to thank that old man, that's cool!"

I grinned at Luffy happy he would except it and turned to Ace. Ace said. "If only you didn't go into that shop."

I felt hurt swell in my chest and then I glared whe I saw the small smirk on his face. My eyes widened in anger. "You bastard!"

His smirk became wider and I pushed him hard. He stumbled a little and then tackled me and Luffy joined. Somehow, I was in a headlock by Ace and rather tight hug with Luffy hugging my waist and Ace decided to be a jerk and start give me a hard noogie and when I say hard, I mean it. I ended up laughing with Luffy and Ace; everything could hopefully go back to normal enough.

/ / / / / /

We were in Dadan's house again and I was the first to wake up. I yawned and then my stomach growled. I frowned and decided to be the first to get breakfast for us. I frowned deeper when I realized what happened to my sword. I shut my eyes tightly and curled my hands into fists, with my finger nails digging into my palms till I forced my memory back and thought I needed a new one.

I grabbed one of the pipes and decided to do this until I could get another one. I walked out and into the forest. Before I went hunting, I knew I had to see something. I walked into the direction I wanted to be and when I got there my jaw dropped.

This is because I was staring at what I thought would be the ruined Grey Terminal, maybe even a couple of bodies laid around. But, I looked like it before the fire happened. Like all those people who died in the fire didn't matter! I felt a deep hate so bad in my chest, it almost smothered me and stopped my breathing. I clutched my pipe tighter in my hand and walked deeper in the forest, my hands shaking.

I quickly shaved off the end of the pipe so it was sharp and stabbed a tiger over and over, angry at what I saw. I shook my head; I need to control my emotions. I dragged the tiger back and by this time Dadan and the bandits were up. Her eyes widened a little and she said. "Ace and Luffy are looking for you."

I nodded and went out, forgetting why I killed that tiger in the first place. She yelled after me and I ignored her. Oh well, Dadan could have it. I walked around spotted Ace and Luffy looking around. I called. "Oi, Ace! Luffy!"

They looked and Luffy was happy and Ace shook his head glaring in my direction. I was ignoring that though, the Grey Terminal still on my mind. He rolled his eyes and Luffy ran over to me. "Hey Mace! Why did ya run off?"

Before I could answer, Ace said. "It don't matter, time to train."

I smiled, I forgot all about that. I need to stay strong though. Luffy rushed at Ace first while I watched from an angle. Ace deiced that all 3 of us should attack at once and I was looking for the best angle to attack at.

He stretched his fist and went to punch Ace in the face, but it went past him and way into the sky. It came back and made him spin around and Ace laughed at him. I glared and got my jagged pole ready. Ace said. "What are you doing, you're no match for me!?"

I grit my teeth and whacked him in the back with the pole and he stumbled falling to his knees. He looked at me with a glare and his face was red as he stood up. I stuck my tongue out and he growled."Mace…"

I gulped a little at the pissed off look and I ducked as he went to kick me and dodged a punch but he then got me hard in the gut and I crashed to the ground on my back. He smirked and looked down at me with him arms crossed over his chest. He said. "Don't even try. You can't hurt me once you get a hit on me."

He raised his voice. "Strength doesn't matter if you can't aim either!"

I glared and winced as I sat up, knowing my stomach was bruised and would be hurting for a while. He went on like the asshole he was. "Rubber is not useful for fighting just as I thought."

I sighed and held the bridge of my nose. Her we go, Luffy is gonna get mad now. Luffy jumped up and yelled while shaking his fist. "SHUT UP!"

Ace rolled his eyes as he replied. "What?! I'm telling you the truth! All you can do is bounce back attacks and sink like a rock!"

I sighed again; for once couldn't Ace just let it go. Luffy's power could be useful if he could aim better. Luffy ran up to him until they were pissed and their foreheads were touching. Shaking my head with a smirk, I sat on the ground and decided to watch, the worst that could happen would be Ace punching him and then I and Ace getting in an argument which would be me punched. Normal, I guess.

Luffy yelled. "Stop making fun of the Gum-Gum fruit! I'll make you cry someday."

I smiled, one day I could see that. I said. "I could see that."

Ace grew some kind of shark teeth as he yelled at me. "Shut up, Idiot!"

I glared as he went back to yelling at Luffy. All of a sudden Ace pointed at a random direction and shouted. "You're too easy on him, Sabo!"

My eyes widened as a sharp pain hit my chest where my heart was. Luffy jumped up and shouted happily. "I'm stronger than yesterday, more then I thought."

Ace must be at something, but what? I knew he would never do that as a joke. Did he get Luffy on it? They both shouted at a rock. "Don't you think so, Sabo?!"

I shook my head and yelled, having enough. "Shut up, both of you!"

They looked confused at the rock and I stood up as they stared at me. I put my hand in my pocket where the pocket watch was and held it tightly. Luffy looked at me a little guilty and then he made a upset face. "Sabo was always a good brother and now Mace is being mean."

Ace rounded on his and I walked over glaring. Ace yelled. "What?! You mean it'd be better if I died?!"

I sighed, must Ace look at things like that? Luffy yelled. "I didn't say that!"

I said. "And I only said that because you we being a idiot!"

Luffy glared at me too with a pout and then glared back at Ace. I was glaring at the both of them and Ace just looked pissed off. "You meant it!"

He punched him in the head and I yelled. "You too, jerk! He didn't hit him this much!"

I jumped away from his fist, but then…I fell on my face and he punched me in the head. I groaned as I sat up, if he keeps on hitting us like that, I will get a concussion. They were pissed off at each other and decided they did not want to live with each other anymore.

So they got some firewood and all that decided to make 2 separate places to live. I didn't want to get involved and they got paper and decided to write about it to Dadan as they built in right in front of her house.

Now, I had to decide to go to Ace Kingdom, Luffy Kingdom or Dadan Kingdom. Ace was staring at me and Luffy was giving me the puppy eyes so I sighed and said with a smirk. "I'll go to the place where I don't get hit all the time."

Ace yelled. "I don't need you brat!"

I spun around with a glare and pointed at him. "I'm not a brat!"

He nodded. "Yeah, you are! I'm 11 and your 8! Brat!"

I growled and was about to attack him when Dadan came out. Me not wanting to miss this reaction, I sat the same way as Luffy, next to him. Dadan and Dogra looked shocked. Dadan asked. "What do you want now?"

Luffy said. "We need to be strong enough to live on our own. You guys belong to Dadan Kingdon now!"

They looked at me and I shrugged. "I'm his roommate."

They nodded and Luffy looked at me confused, I grinned and whispered. "I'll tell you later."

He nodded and then had a sort of stern face on. Ace said. "Let us use your bath sometimes."

I snorted as Luffy and Ace turned away from each other, being stubborn. Dadan didn't say anything as she looked at us, frustrated. Dadan sighed and just walked away and Dogra followed her. So after ignoring Ace for a while, we decided to all go into the forest. Ace climbed up a tree and decided to relax. I was looking around I heard. "Ahhhhhhhhh!"

It was Luffy. I had a pointed pipe with me and I ran toward it. It was near Ace's tree and it was the big bear that we saw when we went to fight the tiger. I gulped as the scar over its eye made it look scarier. I was next to Luffy and asked. "How did this even happen?!"

He yelled back. "I don't know!"

I tensed, glaring at it. Maybe if Ace helped us, we could all take it down. Luffy seemed to get the same idea. "Ace you got to help us, it's a bear!"

Ace said. "I thought you wanted to live on your own."

I shouted, feeling panic in my chest. "Come on Ace! We need your help."

Ace yawned. "You should have picked the better side."

My eyes widened, I never knew he could be this much of a bastard. Luffy jumped up and I tried to get to him. Dammit Luffy! I ran up the bear and jumped back off and then I saw the bear's arm coming at Luffy in slow motion, well to me it was. I jumped up as it hit luffy making blood splash the air and I grabbed him to my chest and felt a ripping sensation that burned like the Pits of Hell and landed on my hurt back, making it hurt more.

I heard Ace yell. "Luffy! Mace!"

He ran over to us and grabbed Luffy. He looked at me panicked and I sat up and then screamed a little, I stood up and he grabbed my arm over his shoulder so it rested on Luffy neck (Who was on his back. He then ran as fast as he could like that. I was between awake and asleep. I heard banging as Ace was screaming. My eyes felt like someone stuffed something inside of them. I heard Ace screaming, he was worried.

I felt like I was being lifted and my shirt was pulled off my body. I squinted my eyes to see that we were in Dadan's hut. I looked around and saw a blurry form of Ace. I coughed. "Is Luffy okay?"

Ace replied. "Yeah, you okay?"

I nodded, realizing I was on my stomach. "Yeah."

I winced a lot when something was put on something on my back and I asked. "What up with my back?"

Ace said. "You got scratched by the bear."

I nodded, making a grunting noise.

Ace voice was low. "Sorry..."

I was silent as I was bandaged all over my body to my chest to my waist. I rested my head on a pillow and I shut my eyes. Before I fell asleep, I mumbled, but knew Ace heard me. "It's okay, brother."

I felt something ruffle my hair and then it got dark.

/ / / / / / / / / / / /

I woke up with a groan and sat up. I stretched and winced, still a little sore. I saw Luffy gone and thought he must be outside. I slipped on a tank top lying around and walked outside and I grinned widely when I saw the person outside. "Makino!"

I ran over to her and hugged her. Missing a little bit of female interaction even if I'm a tomboy and hate girly things and would never wear a dress or skirt if my life depended on it.

She hugged me back with a giggle and said. "Hey, Mace! Why do you have bandages on you like this!?"

I said. "Just a little accident, nothing too bad."

She nodded, but looked at me with a worried frown. I felt Ace's stare and I asked, curious. "What are you doing here?"

She said. "I wanted to check up on all of you, but Ace-kun asked me to help him on gratitude."

I looked at Ace and grinned as I burst out laughing. "Ha, Ha! Yeah right!"

He glared and yelled. "Shut up!"

I heard a cough. "Mace. Behave."

I blushed at the tone in her voice and Ace laughed at me. She was getting ready to teach and I smirked as I got ready to watch the show. Luffy decided to come over as he sat across from me. Ace said. "Okay, let's get this started already!"

Luffy said. "Oh, you got it Ace!"

Makino said. "No, that's not right. You have to say, thank you in advance in that occasion."

I raised my eyebrows, I wouldn't even say that. Luffy was confused. "Oh that wasn't right? It sounded cool."

I said. "He has to could nice, different from himself."

Ace yelled. "Shut it!"

Makino directed it back to her. "Ace-kun wants to learn this so he can say thank you properly to the Captain of the Red Haired Pirates who helped Luffy and Mace."

I blinked as I felt myself warm a little. "Really?"

Ace nodded while looking away from me. Ace said. "Yeah, it's my job to thank him for saving my little brothers as I will be a pirate by the time I see him."

Makino went on. "Let's do it like he's right in front of you."

Ace said. "I'm Ace, who the hell are you?"

I snorted with a grin, not even close.

Makino said. "Booh. It's not nice to say 'hell'."

Luffy jumped up. "Who the heck are you?"

Closer to it, but not there.

Ace asked. "Give me your name."

Makino shook her head. "Booh."

Ace had a shocked look on his face and Luffy said. "You have to say, 'you fool'."

I was just holding my laughs in. Ace said. "Who are you, you bastard?"

My shoulders were shaking now as Makino said "Booh" again.

Ace tried again. "Who is this?"

Makino boohed again.

Luffy asked. "Whom is you?"

Makino did it again. I was laughing on the floor and rolling as Makino giggled and Ace yelled at Luffy. Luffy then tried to convince Ace to go with him to a snakes nest and after much persistence, he did, but I hung around Makino for the day.

/ / / / / / / / / /

Everything went back to normal after that or as normal as it can get. Like one time we went back to High Town and 'Dine and Dashed'. I know it's wrong, but if I'm going to be a pirate someday, I need to practice. Like when we were running and Ace told us to stop. I was confused until I remembered what he taught us. All 3 of us bowed at the same time and said. "Thank you for the meal."

The cook screamed at us and we ran back home again.

We also continued our fights and I actually beat Ace and Luffy at some. I also trained my body more trying to get muscle on it. It's hard for an 8 year old kid to do. We fought the giant bear together and didn't even get hurt and I grinned smugly as I watched the bear collapse dead.

We trained by fighting people and soon it was Luffy birthday which we celebrated by giving him extra meat. My birthday passed in April and we celebrated it too, had fun and went with Ace's too. I wore button down shirts when winter came along with pants.

We protected each other in the forest even if me and Ace were the ones really protecting. Since Luffy seemed to find trouble all the time, but I think the worst was when Grandpa came. Yeah, I started calling Garp Grandpa when I got used to the time he came (And all the times he gave me the 'Fist of Love' for saying his name instead). He would kick and punch us around. I rushed to protect Luffy, but I was punched to the ground. It was useless, trying to beat him.

We faced Grandpa a lot and the animals in the forest along with going to High Town. Soon the years passed us and me and Ace didn't fight as much even if we did sometimes because we were bored. But all three of us were as close as anybody could get. I loved both of them and would do anything to protect them, even if I had to die.

It was now time for Ace to leave and I'll admit, I was sad to see him go. He's 17 now and I'm happy at least Luffy is here. I was fourteen in my physical age along with Luffy. I was walking in town with actual money in my pocket, I worked in a small shop in Edge Town as Luffy and Ace did whatever. I always wanted to have a little spending money on me and I did now. I was in Edge Town, but people knew not to mess with me because of our reputation.

Anyway, the reason I was here was because Ace was leaving in a couple of days and I wanted to get him something. I walked to a dimly lit store that gave me weird sense of Déjà vu. I shook my head and thought I'd think about it later. I walked around and waved at the man who was old, but had a hat on so I could not see his face. I shrugged and looked around.

I was annoyed because I looked around and saw that I could not find anything. I then turned my head and saw something orange that caught my eye. I walked over to it and smirked, I think Ace would like this. It was an orange cowboy hat with red beads around the rim and one on the left with a happy smiley face and on the right a sad/mad one with a string that went down along with a bull medallion. I smiled, he would like it. I picked it up and set it on the counter.

I said. "I would like this."

The man took his hat off and I gasped at why I had that feeling, it was John! The man that sent me here! I was panicked, what the hell? He said. "Hello, Perry A. Mason."

I nodded and said a bit wary. "Hi..."

He chuckled. "Okay, I going to come out and say it. I'm here to give you a choice."

I asked. "What choice?"

He sighed. "I was going to tell you. Now, you have a choice either to go home and don't come back or stay here and you won't be bothered with this again."

I gaped at him and frowned. That was 7 years ago. I asked. "Could I see how they are?"

He nodded with a smile and made some kind of picture appear. I looked on and saw my family. I gasped. Eric was about 18. He was smiling about something and laughed. I looked at what he had on and my eyes widened, combat jacket and pants with boots, he was in the Army. My parents looked the same and I looked at what my mother was doing. She was holding a three year old baby girl with black hair and blue eyes.

My mother cooed. "Jessica, baby. What are you doing?"

The girl said. "Nothin'. I wuv you Mama." She smiled and the picture disappeared as I saw my father frowning. It's been 7 years and I'm forgotten.

I came to a decision. "I'm staying here."

They don't need me there, but Luffy and Ace do. He smiled. "As I thought. Have a good day and remember you can't change it."

I was about to pay, but he shook his head and I plopped the hat on my head and walked out the store. I went home and hid the thing, know I made the right choice.

It's been a couple of days and we were going to the mountain cliff to see Ace and say good bye. Before he jumped on his boat, I said. "Here you go."

I grabbed his hat and put it on his head. He looked up with a grin and said. "Hey, it looks cool! Thanks."

He changed, became a lot nicer. It shocked me and he grinned wider. "I know you haven't used one in a while, but I stole-I mean bought this for you."

I chuckled as he pulled something from behind his back. My eyes widened wide as I saw it. I was a sword; I mean a real one I have been looking at in town. It was black for the sheath, with a sliver blade and bright red hilt. I hugged him around the shoulders tightly and said. "Thanks Ace."

I was not just talking about the sword and he knew it. He hugged me back and laughed. "I knew you need me."

My eyes widened and I glared. "Jerk!"

He laughed and jumped on the boat before I could smack him. I could not stop the smile pulling at my lips. He handed it to me and jumped on the boat. He called to Luffy. "I got you a supply of meat that will last you a day or two, Luffy."

He grinned happily and I just noticed Makino plus a bunch of the bandits behind us and Luffy shouted. "See ya, Ace"!

I yelled. "Yeah, Bye!"

Ace said. "Yeah. See you Luffy, Mace! I'm going now!"

Luffy yelled. "Uh-huh! I'll be a lot stronger in three years!"

I shouted too. "Yeah and I'll learn how to use this sword real good by then!"

Ace boat took off and we all waved at him, he yelled. "You'll hear my name real soon."

I grinned with a nod as he sailed away. I believe we will. Luffy said."He's gone."

Mayor said. "I wonder what Garp would say."

I shivered at thought, we were doomed when he comes down. We walked off back to the bandit home. Luffy pulled me away the next day to the place we used to train, the scoreboard was still there. Luffy said. "Three more years until we can go".

I nodded. "I have that much to get stronger and learn my sword."

He was looking at this large rock and he said. "Gum-Gum"… He swung his fist and yelled as his fist hit the top. "...Pistol!"

While he was doing that, I said. "I gonna practice Luffy."

He nodded glaring at the rock. "Aye!"

I walked over so I was not near Luffy and I pulled my sword out of the sheath. I admired it and held it in my right hand, facing away from me. I got into a standard stance and stared doing basic moves like blocking upward, downward and to the sides. So I was doing a combination of things and I was slicing like the air was butter.

I was natural for me and I loved it. I set it down and decided to needed to up my strength too. I got into a push-up position and did some until I got tired which was at the 40 mark. Sighing, I stood up. Wiping the sweat off my forehead, I picked up the sword in my right hand.

That's what I did for a while and it turned into a couple of months. I was slicing up trees and doing exercise to build up my muscle mass. It was tiring doing this every day, but I loved the feeling of getting stronger. I even caught dinner a couple of times with my sword, that was another way to practice. Of course I would clean it afterward. Let's just say the animals didn't have a chance. One day, when I was hanging out with Luffy, I heard. "Luffy, Mace!"

We both looked to see Dogra running to us with a newspaper in his hands and Luffy asked him. "What is it?"

Dogra handed us the paper and I grinned. Ace did it, he was in the paper! Luffy yelled. "Ace did it! He got his own name! He got his own ship and crew. He's great! Ace's is great. But I'm going at the top!"

I nodded with a laugh. "Yep, me too! We have to show him how strong were gonna be."

He nodded. "Yeah, we will."

We looked at each other. "Let's train!"

I nodded and we ran off into the forest to train again.

We trained, Luffy got a lot stronger as 3 years passed and so did I. Nothing really changed since Ace left, me and Luffy just looked a little older. I learned a lot with my sword and I and Luffy spared to get better too. I had figured out the name of my sword too, Kusanagi-no-Tsurugi or 'Sword of the gathering clouds of Heaven'. I liked it.

I was good at it and I could not wait to face a swordsman. I look at myself as a swordsman; to me a swordswomen makes it sound weaker.

Anyway, I decided already to go with Luffy. Luffy was actually thoughtful and got me this leather book with a bunch of paper in it, a log book, because I wanted to complete my dream of Sabo. We were in front of the bandits and Luffy said. "Were leaving now, you're not going to send us off."

Dadan said. "How annoying…the Mayor and Makino won't mind, but the people of the Windmill Village will be scared of us."

I frowned, who cared what they think? I voiced this and she seemed to freeze as she said. "Why don't you both just go already?"

Luffy grinned and said. "Alright them you guys…thank you for everything."

I bowed to them 90 degrees and said. "Yes, thank you for caring for me."

When I stood back up, they looked embarrassed. Luffy said. "Dadan, I don't like mountain bandits…"

Dadan said. "Shut up, you brat!"

Luffy continued. "…I like you guys!"

I nodded. "Same here."

Dadan then made me sweatdrop by crying and yelling. "Get out of here, you Bastards!"

I laughed as did Luffy. We then left and went on our way to Windmill Village.

I grinned and said. "Race ya!"

He grinned back and said. "Yeah!"

He raned off and I hollered. "Cheater!"

He laughed loudly and I raced to catch up to him. Soon we were neck to neck by the peer and we were at tie. Dammit. Luffy pouted, but we found the villagers waiting, by the peer. We went into a dingy and settled down as Makino had 2 barrels, one with food and the other with water. I sat down and Luffy was standing. One villager said. "I could give you my old fishing boat, that will sink any moment!"

Luffy said. "This is fine, right Mace?"

I said with a smile. "Yeah, to start out small."

Luffy turned around and yelled. "Sabo! Look out after me!"

I smiled and shut my eyes. Me too Sabo, me too.

"Sabo was first and Ace was second. I'm third and Mace is forth. I will top Ace!"

I grinned. "Why do I get to be forth?"

He smirked. "I'm cooler!"

I snorted and stuck my tongue out. "Yeah right!"

He pouted, but was too happy to stay like that as he grinned. They stared wondering who Sabo was and then we sailed away. Luffy using the oars. As I relaxed, I hoped the next crew mate we got would be when we got a new boat. I looked at him; he was wearing his Straw Hat with a red vest on and jean shorts that went to the knees.

I had on a bright blue shirt with short shirt sleeves, jean pants on and boots which I should wear because I'm using a sword. My sword is attached to my left hip and my pocket watch was connected to my belt loop and in my pocket. My hair was the same length as it was when I got here, mid-neck. I kept on cutting it so I didn't get in the way.

I smiled; it was time to begin our journey as pirates. The boat suddenly shook and I saw this big ass sea serpent come out of the water, I was about to stand up and deal with, my right hand touching my hilt, but Luffy stood up with shadows on his face and I decided to let him handle it. He said. "Here comes are local sea monster. You don't know who your messing with, I've been honing this for 10 years."

He reached his arm back and I just hit flat on the deck ti avoid getting hit. I heard him say. "Gum-Gum no…Pistol!"

He punched the sea creature and it went under water. Yeah, we defiantly got stronger. I jumped up after a big wave him and smacked Luffy in the back of the head. "Next time warm me!"

He pouted at me and I glared. He shrugged and I could hard cheering from behind us. Luffy then shouted. "I will become King of the Pirates!"

I smirked, I know he will, no matter how long it takes. He sat down and we went forward and he said. "I want 10 people on my crew."

I nodded; I could see Luffy with a small crew. I said. "Yeah, we got 2."

He nodded and sat on the boat and they I suddenly yelled. "Wait a minute, none of us know how to navigate!"

He shrugged. "We'll just go with the waves and see."

I nodded, I didn't even think to learn and see what happens when I get there. Oh God, Luffy rubbed off on me.

Now our Pirate Adventure is ready to start!
