Girl Falls into One Piece
Chapter 12
Landing on a Treasure Island
Edit: 7/9/16 Time: 1:18 am
I woke up with a yawn and a still tired feeling to my body. I looked over to see Nami gone and I strained my ears to hear Usopp. Groaning, I rolled around until I landed on my feet. Rolling my head around until I heard a crack, I grabbed my sword, a pair of blue jeans, undergarments and a light blue T-shirt. I frowned, how am I supposed to take a bath on a boat? I grabbed my clothes and went to see Nami focusing on her maps. I called. "Hey, Nami!"
She jumped and then glared when she saw me. "Don't do that!"
I raised my hand. "Sorry, how do we take baths on here?"
She went back to her maps and said distractedly. "Go on the room near the kitchen, there is a water machine."
I nodded and said thanks. Luffy grinned. "Mornin' Mace!"
I chuckled. "Same to you, Luffy."
Zoro was laying down and I dropped my clothes in the bathroom where there was a couple of towels, a bucket and normal sized metal or tin tub. I grabbed the bucket, went where Nami said to and saw what looked like a big barrel and a tube in the back. I put the bucket under it and started pedaling.
I would look back until it was full and I dumped it in the tub. I did this back and forth a couple of times before it was full enough. I walked back out and heard them talking about something ugly. Curious I walked over and asked what was going on. Luffy said. "Look at the flag I drew."
I looked to see a lopsided Jolly Roger with a disfigured strawhat on top. I blanched just by looking at it and Nami, Usopp and Zoro sent me looks of pain. I scratched the back of my neck and decided to just do what Luffy knows best, be blunt. "It sucks really bad and enemies would laugh in our faces."
Zoro choked a laugh and Nami and Usopp gaped at me and I heard Nami say I was insensitive. She doesn't understand that you can't sugarcoat with Luffy, you have to be blunt and straight to the point with him. Luffy said with a pout. "But, I like it!"
I twitched and Usopp said he could make it better. So he had a new sheet and took colors and I scowled in a bit of anger when I saw him draw his own mark. I really didn't want a repeat of this. I calmed myself down after giving him a glare (while he shivered at) and Luffy and Zoro punched him in the head. He drew something else and I looked to see the same as Luffy, but more artistic. I nodded, accepting it.
I left them and went back to my bath. I stripped, stepped in, did what I had to do and leaned back and relaxed, closing my eyes. I almost gulped water when the boat started shaking. Swinging out of the tub and drying myself off, I threw on my clothes as quick as I could, shoved my boots in my feet and hook my watch chain to my belt loop and shoved it into my pocket. Then I clipped my sword to my left hip. I ran out to see the boat rocking harshly on the waves. I ran over to Nami was wide eyes and asked. "What's going on, you're the Navigator."
I grabbed Luffy's collar so he didn't fly off the boat and steadied Nami by her shoulder when she almost slipped. Nami said. "A treasure island is this way!"
I blinked. "Treasure island?"
Usopp called over, voice shaking. "Y-yeah and G-g-god is guarding it."
Luffy laughed while holding on to his hat when I set him down. "Shishishi! Sounds like fun."
I seemed to sigh and chuckle at the same time. We showed up and Zoro decided to stay and sleep on the ship. I said as Usopp, Nami and Luffy left the boat. "You guys go, I'm good here."
Luffy asked. "You sure?"
I nodded and called back. "Yeah, it's fine."
Usopp gave me a shaky wave, Nami waved a dismissive hand and Luffy grinned at me before running into the dense forest. I walked back into my room and clipped my sword to my belt. Feeling better at the familiar weight on me, I sighed and decided a nap was in order. I went back out and decided to sleep on the deck. Leaning against the railing, I fell asleep.
I woke up, wincing at the creak in my neck. Smiling at the satisfying crack, I stood up and saw Zoro getting up too. I suddenly had a idea, such an idea I knew Ace would face palm, grin or smack me and Nami would be pissed. I asked. "Hey Zoro?"
He blinked at my look of 'innocence' and said dryly. "What is it Mace?"
I shrugged. "How's your injuries?"
He narrowed his eyes. "Fine, why?"
I grinned and said. "Remember that fight I asked about when we first met, I want to have it now."
He then gave me a smirk that looked oddly excited and he stood up. "Fine, I'm up for it."
I gave him a smirk back and asked. "Where you want to fight?"
He shrugged. "Here, on the deck."
I grinned and we both faced each other in the middle of the deck. I had my sword and of course Zoro had all three. I could almost feel the excitement in my veins. I asked. "Ready?"
I pulled my sword out and held it in my right hand with narrowed eyes at Zoro. He put his white sword in his mouth and his other ones in his hands. He gave a nod and he slashed at me with two of them and I moved back, protecting myself with my sword. A heavy clang hit the air. We then broke apart.
We rushed at each other and I slashed, but was stopped by three swords and I moved my sword back. I was huffing slightly. I rushed forward and sliced upward. Our swords were caught and my blade seemed to catch all three of his swords and we were close and I backed off. Our swords clashed again and again over and over all over the ship. Then, our swords hit each other at a standstill.
I almost felt power being released from my arms and shoulders, the strength we both put behind the attack.
I was breathing heavy, but so was Zoro. My eyes were narrowed as he pushed me back and I used a bit of strength. This is one reason why I trained for 10 years on my body; I am as strong as a man. We were at a standstill again and he huffed, glaring in my eyes and I mirrored it back. We kept on pushing our strength, my feet sliding on the floor and then I firmed my feet to the ground and swung my fist to hit him face and in my surprise, it landed.
Smirking I slashed at him, but the swords clashed with another screech of metal and I cursed. Are we this close to the same level? His sword on his right hand got me in the face by the hilt and my eyes rolled a little as I stumbled back. He jumped at me but I rolled to the floor and jumped back to my feet. He missed and I heard his curse.
Finally I could tell this would be it to see who would win, with a slight yell from me and him, our swords clashed and mine held his swords at the three points and we kept on pushing our strength. I would push him back a couple of steps and he would do the same to me. Finally, we were exerting our strength so much that neither of us couldn't move an inch. I was gritting my teeth as the force I was using. "…This is…it, huh?"
I saw his jaw was tightened and he said through his sword. "This…is nothing to me."
I knew we were too evenly matched right now to beat each other and I said. "Hate to say it, but it's a tie."
He seemed to glare and push his arms more, but I kept my strength. He sighed and dipped his head slightly. "Fine, tie for now."
We both withdrew our swords and steps back a couple of steps. I nodded at him. "One of the hardest battles I ever had, never thought I'd meet someone my strength this quick."
I wiped the sweat off my face and saw him do the same. "Same here, but I will beat you; I'm going to be the World's Greatest Swordsman."
I nodded with a grin and I felt a new respect for him and I had no doubt he did too. It's a swordsman thing. I took my watch out of my pocket and was surprised to see an hour has passed and two hours since we seen the others. I put it back in my pocket and said. "Let's go look for the others and I'm leading."
I jumped down off the boat and he landed next to me saying. "What the hell is that supposed to mean, huh?"
I rolled my eyes and walked forward. "What do you think it means, your sense of direction sucks."
He glared and asked. "Do you want a round two?"
I smirked at him and then froze when I heard a rustling in the bushes. I glared and gaped when I saw a pig with wings. Zoro said. "What the hell is that?"
I blinked and had a memory of watching Spy Kids 2 with the flying pig and snorted. "It's harmless."
We walked away from it and Zoro kept on looking back at it and I pretended I never saw it because it was too weird. I narrowed my eyes when I saw a couple of people ahead and looked to see a yellow hat and orange hair. I grinned and said. "Found them."
Zoro rolled his eyes at me and I pretended not to notice. Luffy saw me and grinned. "Hey look, it's Mace and Zoro!"
Usopp seemed to twitch a little and Nami gave us a small wave. I heard someone else say. "Who are they!?"
I blinked and looked around. I saw Zoro doing the same. I then walked ahead and my eyes widened in shock when I saw a man with a beard and looked to be middle aged inside of the treasure chest. I twitched and asked. "What the hell is that supposed to be?!"
Zoro came over and was shocked, asking the same question as me. Even if I was a bit shocked at the think, I smirked at Zoro's reaction. Zoro said. "Like a Jack in the Box, but real."
I snorted. "That would be the creepiest childhood toy ever."
I remembered them in my old time when I still lived with my blood family; I loved those toys and acted shocked every time it came up. He also had a green puff ball that I guess was supposed to be there and it reminded me of a healthy bush. I snorted at my own thoughts. I wonder if Merry would chomp on his head.
I focused back to see Zoro and Luffy pulling om his head, must be trying to get him out of the box or something. The guy's face was filled with pain as he yelled. "STOP IT!"
They both backed off and he yelled as we all started at him. "Don't be stupid, I have been in this chest so many years, breaking me out would only break me."
That's kind of weird, it sounds like it formed around his body or something, like a mold. I shook my head with a laugh. "Man, you're a weirdo."
Nami rolled her eyes, Usopp's eyes widened, Zoro gave a snort and Luffy laughed. The treasure chest guy yelled at me to shut up and said. "Enough about me, who are you? Most pirates are not like you all."
Luffy sat cross-legged on a rock. "I'm going to be King of the Pirates."
I grinned at that, I always liked it when Luffy told his dream, plus people's reactions are funny as hell. The treasure guy looked shocked and then decided to tell his life story. I walked over and sat next to Usopp with my legs crossed. If he is telling a story, I might as well get comfortable.
Apparently when he set out to sea with his pirate crew 20 years ago, (this was also the beginning of when the Great Pirate Age was started by Gol D. Roger) they thought there was treasure on this island and his crew went looking for it.
Then after a couple of days, they were getting ready to leave and he thought he saw something up on a cliff. He went to go check, but fell into a treasure chest (the one he was in now) and been like that for 20 years and hanging out with animals that were weird like the winged pig me and Zoro saw earlier. I shook my head sadly, man that is sad to be stranded somewhere like that.
We all stared at him and I sighed. Luffy then showed him the Grand Line map and the treasure guy asked. "Which one is the Grand Line?"
I snorted, like Luffy would have a clue. Luffy laughed and said, almost in agreement with my thoughts. "Shishishi! I have no idea."
I laughed with him and Nami sighed in an annoyed way, shaking her head. "You all are idiots!"
They both ignored her and then she turned to me looking a little confused. "Mace? Do you know what that shock wave was? It sounded like it was coming from the direction of the ship."
I frowned and I knew my eyebrows scrunched up as I was thinking and I figured what it was and smirked smugly in Zoro's direction, he did the exact same. Zoro and I both said simply. "We both fought."
Luffy, Nami, Usopp and the treasure guy stared at us. I tilted my head to the side slightly confused at their different looks. Of course Luffy looked excited and slightly put out (from not seeing anything), treasure guy also looked excited about a fight (didn't make him seem bad at all), Nami looked angry and as usual, Usopp looked scared. Usopp asked, stuttering a bit. "W-why would you d-do that-t!?"
I shrugged and Zoro said. "We wanted to see who was stronger."
Usopp and Nami's eyes widened at his answer and Nami snapped. "Why would you fight about nothing and something as stupid and mindless as that?!"
I opened my mouth and scowled slightly. "It's about honor, something you don't seem to understand."
She glared and opened she mouth to say something when Luffy stretched his arms to my shoulders and I paled when he plowed right into me. I yelped as I crashed to the ground, him sitting on my stomach. He bounced a little and I pushed him off and he asked. "So, who won!?"
I pouted and looked the other way. Zoro said it a gruff voice. "It was a draw."
Luffy tiled his head to the side. "I thought you were fighting not painting."
I face palmed and Usopp said. "No it means they couldn't beat each other."
Luffy nodded. "Yeah, Mace and Zoro are strong."
After getting a pissed off glare from Nami we went back to the treasure guy. He seemed a little shocked and then started grinning. "That must have been great; I wish I could have seen it."
I grinned back. "It was, trust me."
Zoro nodded in agreement.
I need to train though, I hate being on a standstill with someone. Nami started grumbling angrily under her breath and it was ignored. Luffy said. "I'm going to find the One Piece."
Nami shook her head. "All I want to do is if we get to the Grand Line, get as much treasure as I can and escape."
I looked at her blankly, well, don't that sound boring. Luffy seemed to agree we me. "You do that, I'm still going to find the One Piece."
I leaned back against a tree and scratched the back of my neck as the treasure guy said. "I and you could be twins."
I coughed a laugh at that, they couldn't look anymore different. This guy was harmless so I leaned more against the tree, crossed my arms over my chest and fell asleep.
I woke up with a start and groaned, rubbing the sleep out of my eyes. Sitting up straight, I just heard Nami say. "We should help Gamion with the treasure."
I guess that's what the treasure guy's name is. Luffy asked, looking confused. "Don't you steal treasure from pirates?"
I chuckled and Zoro looked to at me and then looked back at them. Nami said, an indignant look coming to her face. "I may be a thief, but I do have a conscience."
I mumbled under my breath. "I find that hard to believe."
Luffy heard me and laughed. Usopp gave me a fearful look, already knowing how Nami reacts to certain things. I shrugged, not really caring. Gaimon called this cross breed Turtle/cow thing and we all got on its back. I sat next to Zoro with Nami, Luffy, Gamion and Usopp. It was really cool and I could not keep the grin off my face as we stomped around. "Man, do you think we could get something like this?"
Nami gave me a pissed off glare. "Are you stupid or something."
I shrugged and looked at her 'innocently'. "I get tired sometimes."
She actually started shaking her fist at me. "You sleep all the time!"
I decided not to say anything else and we ended up at his boulder this that was high up. I titled my head up. "Damn, that's high."
I jumped off the hybrid animal. The others were behind me. Luffy asked. "Is this it?"
Gamion said it was and Luffy stretched his arms to the top and flew up there. All of us were looking up and waiting for the treasure. Gamion shouted. "You see the treasure?!"
Luffy shouted back down. "Yeah, I do!"
Gamion told him to bring down the treasure and Luffy said he wouldn't. I blinked in surprise and Gamion asked. "What?"
Luffy said bluntly. "I don't wanna."
I frowned and narrowed my eyes, what is he up to? Nami yelled at him. "Luffy, cut the crap, give the man his treasure!"
Since Nami's words did nothing, Usopp decided to try. "Luffy don't be an ass, give the man his treasure."
They were yelling at him and Nami turned to me. "Mace, do something about your brother."
I looked at Luffy's face, it was his 'not giving in face'. Why would he do that? He wouldn't care about some treasure that much unless...I sighed, a bit disappointed. Gamion said. "It's alright."
He sounded depressed and I had a feeling I knew why. Nami said it wasn't and I said. "Listen, Luffy ain't wrong on this one."
They all yelled at me. "WHAT!?"
Usopp said to me. "Listen Mace, I know he's your brother and all, but-"
I snapped. "He's doing the right thing!"
Usopp flinched back and I ignored the small stab of guilt it gave me. Gamion said. "No, they are both right. The chests are empty."
They looked at him in shock and I nodded. "When you told us about how you never actually reached the chests, I made the possibility that you never even knew that they were full of treasure or not, they just looked like they could of."
They all nodded in understanding and I felt a bit smug about until I felt pain in my head and glared at Nami who had a fist raised. "Don't be smug about it!"
I frowned, but said nothing. Gaimon out of nowhere started weeping and I looked away from him, I don't like looking at people cry, it makes me feel like I'm intruding on something private. Gaimon wailed. "That happens all the time. It leads to no treasure, but that's the kind of trick you get when you're a treasure hunting pirate! You could search all your life and never touch treasure. It happens to pirates, believe me!"
It was silent for a moment and Luffy started laughing. "It's okay, you were here for 20 years, another 30 and you would have died. Since, this treasure hunt was a bust, why don't you come with us and help find the One Piece!"
I chuckled and smirked at Luffy as he jumped down with a wide grin on his face. Only he would call down someone stuck in a treasure chest and ask them to join his crew. One of the things I love about him. Gaimon started crying again and I wondered if he was holding in all in or something. "What you're asking me? I know how I must look to you people. Other people wouldn't even speak to me, but you are kind."
He then said that as much as he liked the offer, he would have to decline. Luffy asked. "Are you sure you want to stay here, old man?"
Gamion said. "Yeah, I found something here more important than treasure."
Usopp asked surprised. "More important than gold?"
Nami looked doubtful, but I smiled when I saw him look at the weird ass animals. They are like Nakama to him; I recognized the look in his eyes. "For the past 20 years, these guys have stuck by my side by thick and thin. I can't leave them."
They started licking him and he laughed. "Now that I know the treasure isn't here, I finally feel free. I can concentrate on the things that really matter to me and after all these years I've grown fond of this little box."
Zoro said. "These weird little creatures are you like your friends."
I chuckled to myself, that is exactly it. I said. "Well, no time to lose, I going on the boat and have a nice life Gamion."
I jumped up on the boat, grabbed the edge and hopped over it. I heard Usopp and Nami mumble about how insensitive I was and pouted. What? People can't handle how blunt I am. They talked a little bit more and then came on the boat.
Nami told me to drop the anchor and I walked over to it, braced a foot against the ship wall and with a grunt, yanked the anchor on the ship. We all waved bye to Gamion and the other people on the ship were doing things to get the ship on and moving. Luffy was stting on the railing crossed legged and I said. "Well, done with the anchor, just like you, Luf."
He grinned and then scowled when he realized what I said. "Hey!"
He pushed me and I stumbled a bit. Scowling playfully, I pushed him back and we had this kind of pushing match and I watched in horror as he feel away from the railing and into the ocean. My eyes widened. "Shit!"
I unclipped my sword from my hip and jumped headfirst in the freezing ocean. Gasping, I swam down and snatched his vest in my hands and swam up, gasping. I kept his head above water and started climbing, tossing him on the boat. Slipping my leg over, I jumped on too. Luffy was shaking on the water on his head and I did the same.
Nami, Usopp and Zoro ran over. "WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT!?" Of course that was Nami.
I scratched my wet head and said sheepishly. "We me and Luffy were pushing each other and he kind of fell into the ocean."
Zoro actually laughed and walked away, something about a nap. Usopp saw the mad look on Nami's face and ran away, lying about something. Nami looked livid and even Luffy knew to run away and he did. I rolled my eyes. "Listen it was an accident and I helped him, calm down."
I went down to grab my sword and clip it to my belt when I crashed to the floor and saw Nami stomping away. I stood up curing that damn girl. I leaned against the railing and was stuck in a memory.
Me and Luffy were 14 and Ace was about to be 17 in about less than a week. It had been 7 years since I showed up in the past and I had an unwanted feeling.
Guilt.
No, it was not about Sabo, but my old family. My Mom, Dad and Eric. Maybe I took it too far that day, hell, I could never regret coming to this time, but maybe I was a bad daughter. Eric was a good son; I knew that and never hated him for it. Do they even miss me? I know Eric did and hope it don't bother him much. I know I made the right choice about staying here, but it looks like I was forgotten, hell they had a child.
I wasn't angry for that, but wish I didn't fight with my Dad so much or be harsh to my Mom when she sided with him. I was broken out of these thoughts with a slap to the back of the head. I looked to see it was Ace. I gave him a fake grin, trying to get rid of melancholy mood. "Where's Luffy?"
He shrugged and sat next to me where I was sitting. I looked at him, he didn't change much. He still had shoulder length wavy hair, freckles and the same face. Of course he was more muscular; he had shorts and an open yellow button down shirt. It's what he wore now. "Training."
I nodded it made sense.
He asked me. "So, what with the face."
I looked at him innocently. "What face?"
He thumped me in the forehead and I pouted rubbing the red mark I knew was there. He said with a roll of his eyes. "You know what face, the one you have when something is bothering you. Plus don't play innocent; your face can't pull it off."
I stuck my tongue out at him and he laughed at me. "So what is it?"
I shrugged. "Nothing much."
He said. "It must be something with the face you were giving."
I sighed and decided to tell him. "Where I come from I had a little brother and parents. Eric was a bit like Luffy, but smarter."
He chuckled under his breath at that and I continued. "My Dad was an Army Officer; the Army was a lot like the Marines."
He made a face and then nodded. I laughed a bit bitter. "Well, he wanted me to be one and I wanted to at first, but didn't want to deal with rules and stuff."
That earned me a snort. I rolled my eyes. "Anyway, I and he didn't start to get along and it was like that for a while, it upset my brother and Mom. So first mom tried to calm him down and after a while she would just tell me off instead of defending me, it pissed me off I guess. It really bothered my brother, but I guess it was okay."
I was picking at the grass at my feet nervously. I was at the part where I ran away and where I felt I was most selfish. Ace must have known something was up and bumped my shoulder with his and I calmed down. "So one night I had a fight with him, went out to cool off and came back home. I went back and I agree I might have egged him on, but he kept on pushing and comparing me to my brother. My mother jumped in and I cursed at her, I shouldn't have, but I did. Then my father screamed at me and threw a glass at me and I ducked-"
Ace snapped. "He did what?"
I frowned as he looked at my face and I said. "It's not a big deal."
He raised his eyebrows. "Are you serious, Mace?"
I sighed. "Can I finish?"
At his nod, I continued. "So he told me he wished he only had my brother and I ran off, you know the rest."
I looked at the ground, not wanting to look at Ace's face. He tapped me on the head and I looked up, his eyes held something unreadable. "Is that what is bothering you?"
I shook my head and said. "You think he was right?"
He frowned. "What are you talking about?"
I said. "That I was not good enough, that I was a terrible daughter."
Ace shook his head at me. "Are you stupid?"
I shrugged and looked away. He sighed loud and wrapped an arm around my shoulder, tugging me close to his side. I went closer to his side, my head under his arm. "Who cares, he was just an asshole, you are annoying, but hell the truth is I'm happy you guys had that fight."
I grinned at him and ignored the annoying part. I was about to move, but his arm tightened around my neck and yelped when I was thrown into a headlock. "What's the big idea!?"
His knuckles were rubbing hard against my skull and I tried to squirm and he said. "Next time you think stupid like that, I'll kick your ass. If I hadn't come by you would have been moping."
While he was talking, he was not letting go or stopping this painful noogie on my skull. I said. "Okay, okay, ow let go!"
He laughed and said. "Fine."
He let go and I winced when I rubbed my head. "Jerk."
I shook my head, rubbing my head almost if I could feel the pain; I walked to room to write down what happened today…
Sargent Major of the Army, Hal Perry was thinking about his lost daughter.
Hal Perry felt like he was growing older, older than his age said. When he looked in the mirror his buzz cut brown hair had mixes of Grey in it. He felt a little more sluggish too. He loved his son and wife, but missed his daughter, even if he didn't show it. He didn't want to think about it, but Mace was a lot like him loyal, stubborn and very competitive.
Things of that night ran through his head as what was said.
"You should be more like your brother."
"It's always about him, why do you hate me."
"Maybe if you acted more like your brother!"
"Mason A. Perry, I wish we only had Eric!"
The look of hurt, betrayal and pain on her face which he ignored then was too much now to look back on. He missed her and missed her so much. He had a 1 year old daughter now, but he still felt the guilt. He was her room, it had her bed on one side of the room and the crib in the other, he felt it was right to put his youngest child with his oldest. He decided it was fitting.
He hoped she was happy wherever she is.
Now he was leaving the house and suddenly someone bumped into him it was an old man with white hair and a suit with a hat on. He recognized him as one of the men questioned on his daughter disappearance. The old man smiled at him, one that said he knew something that Hal didn't. "I assume you're thinking about your late daughter."
Hal Perry scowled. "What would you know?"
He was acting rude, but the man smiled patiently. "Do you want to know if where she is happy?"
He tried to scowl more or shout like he is known to do, but instead of feeling like a Sargent Major of the Army, but a father who lost his first child, his baby girl. He gave a nod. The old man went on. "I can tell you, just a feeling wherever she is she is very happy right now and she has people she cares about."
Hal glared. "What are you implying, sir!?"
He frowned. "I didn't mean it this way."
Hal crossed his arms. "What way do you mean?"
Hal sighed and a sad smile came to his face. "She is happy and you won't find her."
Hal growled. "Is that a threat?"
The old man shook his head. "Just so you don't waste your life, shouldn't it be enough that she is happy?"
Hal sighed and gave a gruff. "Thank you."
The man smiled and left. Whatever power that man has, he had a feeling he was right, he supposed he was happy his baby girl was happy then so was he and felt bad, but knew he had to move on, but not forget EVER. He decided that he would do better with his son and new daughter, he swore to it. Smiling to himself, the new found information and resolve, he walked home to his family.

There it is thank you Guest for giving me the idea of Hal Perry. I didn't want people to think he was evil or something. Hope you liked it and my next update will be the Luffy Birthday One-shot. I soooo late, school sucks!
