Girl falls into One Piece
Chapter 16
Visit into Lougetown
Date Edit: 9/4/16 Time: 8:00 pm
I woke up to a bunch of shouting upstairs. I yawned and rubbed the sleepiness out of my eyes. I stood up and walked up to the deck. I saw Luffy sitting on the railing holding something with a wide smile stretching from ear to ear. I raised my eyebrows and looked to see what was so great. Zoro was smirking, Nami, Sanji and Usopp were upset and I was damned confused.
I walked over and plucked what I saw in Luffy hands. My eyes widened at what I saw. It was a bounty poster with Luffy grinning face for 30,000,000. I gaped and let it drop from my fingers. "How could I let this happen, my own little brother getting a bounty before his big brother? NO!"
I fell to my knees and gripped my head. I felt depressed and I heard Luffy laugh, a couple of confused stares and Nami yelling. "That's not the point you idiot!"
I whined and fell on my back. "Man, this is bad, real bad!"
Nami was yelling at me for not getting the 'point' and I scowled more when I heard Zoro chuckling with Luffy's laughing. I huffed annoyed and crossed my arms over my chest and mumbled. "So not fair."
Nami threw her hands in an 'I give up' gesture. Usopp then started laughing and saying the back of his head was seen and I glared at him darkly until he shut up about it and Sanji was sulking. I eventually got over the horribleness of it, but still glared at Luffy when he let out little laughs. You may not know this, but Luffy could be very devious when he wants to be, I blame Ace about 85%, I know I had some sort of play into it.
Nami then went into our room and pulled out a round paper tube I knew to be a map of some kind. She sat on the floor and spread it out on the deck. I scooted near it from my place on the deck and Luffy came to sit next to me, his shoulder resting against mine. The rest of the crew gathered around.
I squinted at the map, but could barely read the damn thing. I saw an ocean, small lines and a large mountain and the area separating the North, South, East and West Blues. Plus something that said Grand Line.
But I knew that mountain was in the way and I wondered how we could get through it, last time I checked no ships could fly. Man that would be so cool-okay off topic! Anyway, Zoro seemed to agree with me. "There has to be a way around that thing."
I frowned and was about to say something, but Sanji said. "There's not, that's what the Geezer told me."
He must be talking about old man Zeff. Usopp looked confused. "Why not?"
I shrugged and said. "It's obviously dangerous; all the important stuff is there. One Piece, a lot of islands and other stuff."
Usopp asked. "How do you know what?"
I shrugged. "I lived near a bar."
He seemed to accept that. It was true, a bunch of old pirates would come in there and talk about the Grand Line, but not how to get there. Luffy then exclaimed. "Why don't we just sail into it!?"
I blinked and stared at him blankly. I swear, I live with him for 10 years and I still don't…I put a hand on his shoulder and said. "We can't do that, we'll crash."
He nodded and said 'oh'. I smiled and Nami took a deep breath seeing that I handled that. Nami calmed down and Luffy said. "We have to stop off somewhere, get some meat!"
I chuckled and Nami snapped. "Do you think about anything else? Anyway, there is a famous island before the Grand Line called LougeTown."
Luffy cocked his head to the side. "Why is it famous, because of its meat?"
I smirked as Nami narrowed her eyes and Zoro decided to speak up. "I pretty sure I heard of it before, it's also called the Beginning of the End."
I raised my eyebrows, catchy. I said while leaning on my arms behind me. "I don't know, never heard anything about it."
Nami did though. "It was where Gol D. Roger lived and died."
My eyes widened and I looked at her in interest. Now that is interesting, she must have heard it from somewhere, she did travel a lot stealing from pirates. Luffy was determined and said we had to go there.
Luffy went to go sit on the sheep head, Sanji went in the kitchen and Nami picked up the map. I walked off and leaned against a railing. I picked out my pocket watch and smiled, staring at the part with the Red Force mark engraved. I had an idea and pocketed the watch. I went in my room grabbed ink, a quill and a sheet of paper before finding Usopp and asked if he could draw the flag on the paper for me. He started boasting about something to do with art and 20 years, but I waved him off.
I looked at Luffy's hat and thought about it, hm maybe…
I scratched my head and walked over to Nami's trees, not taking anything, but leaning against the trunk with my arms crossed over my chest loosely and fell asleep with my head down.
I woke up to Zoro chasing Usopp and Luffy around and Sanji called saying food was ready. Nami was already there and I walked past the others to grab my food before Luffy stole it. Even if his love cook ways annoyed and frustrated me, this is the best damn thing I ever eaten. Zoro, Luffy and Usopp came in, Usopp being dragged by his nose by a green haired swordsman.
I curled my arm over my plate and hovered over my food. I was in the middle of Luffy and Usopp. I leaned back as Luffy stretched to steal some of Usopp food and he yelled at him for it. I grinned; this is why I protect my food. Nami then suddenly asked. "What do you think happened to Buggy?"
Luffy shrugged. "Buggy? I think he's dead."
I swallowed my food and shook my head and said. "Dead, naw? But he's pretty useless being a mini-me of himself."
Nami laughed with me as we remembered how he looked before Luffy sent him flying. I finished, depositing the plate for Sanji to clean and walked out, stretching my stiff muscles from before. We were all hanging on the deck and I was lying with my hands laced behind my head with a sigh and content stomach. I heard Luffy and Usopp talking about a Hermit Crab with Nami and I closed my eyes, feeling relaxed at the sun hitting my face and arms.
I then decided I would train. I have not done that since the Baratie. I shrugged and jumped on the Crow's Nest side and climbed up. I did normal sit ups, push-ups and things like that. After I was sweating a bit, I decided to do Sword Katas in the middle of the deck. I made sure everything was perfect (footwork, sword stance, positioning and ect…).
Even I noticed Zoro, Luffy and Usopp watching me during the day. Nami even looked a couple of times. Sanji looked too and said some mushy things I choose to ignore. I looked at the sky and saw it was getting dark, about dusk. I then put my sword away and practiced my fighting hand to hand. Even if I didn't have my sword on me, I would like to be able to defend and win well.
By the time I was done it was dinner time again and I ate with crew, chaos happening like before (Luffy stealing food, Usopp getting mad, Nami yelling at them to shut up, Sanji yelling at Luffy and me hiding my food from the greedy hands of Luffy and Zoro watching and eating).
By the time this was done, it was nighttime and every one was asleep except me and Nami. I was getting there though yawning every little bit. I started laughing though when the guys started arguing with each other in their sleep. Nami shook her head. "Even in their sleep they argue?"
I smirked and stood up. "Yeah, I'd except no different."
I scratched the back of my neck and sighed. "Are you going to sleep Nami?"
She nodded with a smile and said. "Yeah, in a little bit. I have watch, remember?"
I nodded. "Yeah, Zoro's relieving you later, right?"
"Yeah."
I nodded again, went in my room and went to sleep on my bed.
I woke up with a sigh and turned, hopping out of bed. I ran a hand through my hair and blinked. I grabbed some clothes for the day and strapped my sword to my left side. I walked out the room and onto the deck. I yawned again and then jumped a little when I heard a explosion to my right. I groaned when I realized it was Usopp and his little inventions. I shook my head with a laugh as I remembered the first time I heard that from him.
Flashback
I was relaxing, spread eagle on the deck and soaking in the sun's rays hitting me on the arms and face. It was one of those days where it was not too hot, but then not too cold either. The best way to describe it would be just right and warm. Anyway, Sanji was in the kitchen with Luffy begging him for more food, Nami was in her room doing something map wise, Zoro was training and Usopp was…somewhere.
I was almost asleep at this point and then I felt an explosion and the boat vibrate slightly. I jumped to my feet and looked around, my hand hovering over the hilt of my sword the way a cop in my time would hover over his gun. I ran over to where the explosion was from and heard Zoro jumped down from the Crow's Nest and ran behind me. I looked to see Usopp's hair in a bigger mess that usual and black dirt all over his face. I snapped. "What the hell!?"
I heard Nami yell from our room. "Quiet down, will you!?"
I made a face in the general direction of her voice. Zoro sighed and grumbled under his breath, walking away. I sighed and glared at him. He flinched at the look I gave him and stuttered while rubbing the back of his head. "U-uh, S-sorry Mace."
I sighed and said, already walking away. "Just be careful and don't make too much stuff explode, it's distracting."
End Flashback
I walked to see Zoro looking ahead and said. "I see an island."
I grinned as Luffy sat on his special seat. "Cool, we must be almost there!"
They both looked to see me up. Luffy grinned at me and I smiled back and Zoro made a kind of good morning nod. Nami, Sanji and Usopp were out here. Sanji, Usopp and Zoro talked about what they wanted to get in Lougetown. Usopp asked me. "So, you want anything there?"
I shrugged and looked at the island ahead with a smile. "Yeah, I want a couple of things. By the way, do you have that paper with the flag?"
He nodded with a grin, reached in his bag and handed me a dry piece of paper with a nice drawing of the flag on it. Perfect for what I need it for. I walked over to the railing next to Luffy and leaned on my arms, leaning forward a little. Luffy said. "So this is the town Gol D. Roger was born and executed."
I smirked. "Yeah, so it's a good thing we are going there."
Luffy answered with a 'yeah'.
Nami looked at him surprised. "So, you did remember."
Really? My brother isn't stupid, absent minded and goofy most of the time, but not stupid. He would not be a real pirate captain if he was and he is. Luffy told her. "Where the King of the Pirates met his end. The city is known of Beginning of the End."
The boat was slowing getting close to the legendary island. We docked and before anyone could say anything, Luffy ran off, I laughed, that is just like him. I heard Nami talk to Zoro about money and I paled, jumping off the boat with a lazy wave and melted into the large crowd.
I had a little bit of money on me so I knew I could buy something for myself and not do what Zoro has to, signing a deal with the Devil in borrowing money from Nami. I knew Luffy would be at the Platform some time today so I had nothing to worry about for now, knowing him he would do something to cause chaos.
Without realizing it, I thought in my head where the rest of the crew would be as I walked around. Nami would be at a clothing store and Sanji would be at a cooking area and around women flirting or trying to. Zoro would be looking for the two swords he broke in the fight with Mihawk. Usopp would be around at tinkering stores.
So basically I have to look for loud noise, food area, clothing store, sword store (that I might look at later) and small mechanics shop. I was surprised I thought of all this up, like it was automatic thinking this.
I walked around and then walked into a random shop, annoyed at looking around and doing nothing. I walked around in the store with my hands in my pockets. I blinked and looked on this shelf. Nothing was on in except for a brown battered hat that reminded me of Indiana Jones's hat that he always wears. I grinned and picked in up and slipped it on my head. There was a small mirror on the wall and I looked at myself in it, I always wanted this hat since the first time I saw him on the movies with it on.
I spotted twine on the counter and picked up a fairly large piece and knocked on the counter. "Hello! Anyone here!?"
I looked to see the person and was shocked to see John. I grinned upon seeing him and said. "Hey Mr. John, I'd like to buy this."
He smiled and said. "Sure, that'll be 250 Berries."
I handed it over and still had some left. He leaned against the counter and asked. "How are you doing since the last time we met?"
I smiled and said. "Good, I'm about to go to the Grand Line."
John said, wrinkles in his forehead. "Sounds like fun, but dangerous too."
I shrugged and said. "What are you gonna do? Hey, do you know if my family is alright?"
His face brightened. "As a matter of fact, they are."
I nodded. "Well. That's good to hear, I'll be seeing you."
I grabbed the hat and twine and left the store. I plopped the hat on my head. Now all of us brothers have a hat. Sabo, Ace, Luffy and now me. With a new hop to my step I went back into the street. I shoved my hands in my pockets, feeling the watch and remembering my idea from earlier.
I looked around until I found a jewelry shop. I walked in, hearing the bell ring above the door. I crinkled my nose into a grimace when I saw the man behind the counter. He was rich I could tell at first glance. Growing up with my brothers, I had a distaste for the rich.
He had on a pressed green suit as bright as Zoro's hair. A blue shirt and one of those white napkin things that Sabo wore around his neck. I frowned at the memory, ten years and it doesn't get any easier. His face brightened at the bell, but then fell when he saw me. His lip curled in disgust. "Excuse me-"
"I need something done." I walked over and pulled out my pocket watch and sketch paper Usopp did for me. "I want you to ingrave this symbol on the back of this."
He gaped at me and I raised an eyebrow. "Well? Can you do it?"
He puffed his chest promptly. "Of course I can, the question is, can you afford it?"
I felt myself bristle. "Don't worry about it and don't you dare ruin this watch or I'll ruin you."
He scoffed. "You're threats don't scare me, you brute-"
In a quick moment, my blade was out and at the tip of his throat. "That wasn't a threat."
He was several shades paler and he nodded slightly. My sword was moved a moment later and back in it's scabbard. He took it with delicate hands and I smirked. Even Nami's hands aren't as delicate as this guy's. I wondered how he protected himself. There had to be worse pirates than me, then again this is a Marine Base.
I heard whispers of that when I was walking around. As he worked on it I leaned against the wall and waited. 20 minutes later, he finished and I paid with no more problems. I clipped the chain to my belt loop, putting it in my pocket.
I walked around, but nothing interesting was happening. Huh, maybe Luffy was behaving. I chuckled to myself at the though, nah. I didn't see Nami, Usopp or Sanji anywhere. With left over money, I went to a food stall and grabbed a couple of sticks of meat.
I walked around and ate. I looked up and found it wierd that the sky was getting darker. It didn't look like this earlier. I shrugged, stopping only at a conversation that pricked my ears.
One women asked. "Did you hear?"
The second one said. "About what?"
"Aparently, Buggy the Clown is going to execute Monkey D. Luffy."
I froze in shock and disbelief.
"Who?"
"Oh, a new pirate in the East Blue. Worth 30 Million Berries."
I turned around and asked the one who said Luffy was going to be executed. "What? What did you say?"
She stared at me in surprise and in fear at the sword at my belt. I didn't care. She asked. "What?"
I felt panicked and grabbed the front of her jacket pulled her off her feet. "About Monkey D. Luffy?!"
I shook her and she said. "U-uh, he's being e-executed at the Platform!"
I dropped her and turned around. Then I turned back to the shell shocked women. "Where is that?"
Her friend answered. "Straight ahead. It's a open place."
I nodded, running off. I noticed it stared pouring rain. I ran where I heard noise coming from and to my relief saw Zoro and Sanji about 20 feet away from me. I doubled my speed, trying to catch up to them. I didn't want to call them because that would just slow them down.
Eventually, I caught up to them and said before they could stop. "Keep running, Luffy's being executed."
Zoro shouted. "We know!"
I blanched at what I saw. Luffy was in one of those stocks, bend halfway, his head stuck and Buggy had his shoe on it, a sword in hand. I grit my teeth in anger, wanting to rip that guy apart, which thanks to his Devil Fruit that was possible. I said, raising my voice because of the chaos. "You guys keep fighting, I'm gonna race to the Platform."
I ran off without an answer. I heard. "You made it, Zoro. Mace! But you're too late!"
I snarled in answer. "Like hell I am!"
I darted around the pirates, for once not fighting them. I noticed some lady with a bikini top on with black curly hair. Buggy yelled. "Not even the great Zoro can stop me now! There's nothing you three can do, it's the end for your captain!"
I growled under my breath. "That damned clown..."
I slammed into someone, but they fell over. The fall caused me to tangled my legs with theirs. Annoyed with all this, I just punched the person and hopped up, running toward the middle where everything was. I cringed at Buggy's laugh.
Luffy suddenly shouted with a wide grin. "Mace! Zoro! Sanji! Usopp! Nami! Sorry, but I'm dead."
As I ran, I felt my heart stop and blood freeze. Luffy couldn't die, he just couldn't and not from Buggy of all people. As his brother, I wouldn't allow it. After Sabo...I couldn't.
I reached the Platform and used my leg strength to climb to the middle rung, but was flung off with a sharp yell. My back slammed into the ground a couple of feet away. I felt fried, there was no other way to explain it. My fingers shook slightly and I felt the rain sharply pelt my face.
I groaned as I sat up, snatching my hat from the ground, watching in pure relief as Luffy was perfectly fine. I grinned, but then felt like punching him. Now I know how Ace feels when we do something completely stupid.
Luffy laughed. "I'm still alive! That's nice."
I shook my head with an almost mad laugh, that's my brother for you. I just rolled my eyes at him. "Be more careful next time, idiot. You got lucky."
Luffy waved me off. "Ah, whatever, I'm fine now."
I chuckled a bit. "I guess you are."
I smacked him in the back of the head as we walked to a shocked Zoro and Sanji. "Just be more careful, okay?"
He looked at me. "Okay."
I couldn't ask him to be careful, because he was Luffy and that didn't happen. But to be more careful, that he could promise me.
Sanji muttered something about divine intervention. Zoro told him to shut up and I agreed. I really was not getting into a way that something holy saved Luffy. I was used to the impossible, but something like that I couldn't count on, at least not here. Plus, my family was never the religious type.
Zoro told us. "You can fight the Marines another time. C'mon or we'll never be able to go to the Grand Line."
Luffy called. "Let's go then!"
All of us ran and Marines ran in front of us. Not bothering to take out my sword with being close to the others, I just blocked and punched my way though. I knew learning to fight other than my sword skills would come in handy. We finally did get away from them and I let out a sigh of relief, that was just annoying. I worried more about how Usopp and Nami were doing, more so with this raging storm.
I said. "I'm gonna rush to the boat."
I heard a grunt from Zoro and Luffy shout of okay. Sanji said something mushy and I chuckled, it was normal for us. I ran foward, tilted my head downward so the rain didn't pelt my face too hard and blind me. I slammed into someone and stumbled back a couple of steps, surprised the other person didn't fall. Then again, he did feel strong. I looked up a bit since the person was taller and saw a man with a dark green cloak covering half his face.
I looked blankly at him. He had a red tattoo down the side of his face and he looked famillar for some reason. "Hey, you..."
He sent me a knowing glance and brushed past me. I shook my head and snorted. "What a wierdo."
I started running again, seeing Usopp and Nami on the boat. I grinned in relief and ran foward, only to see the boat pull away. I called, my voice rising in a yell to be heard. "What the hell, Nami? You're not starting this shit again, are you?"
I could almost see her annoyed/angry look. "NO I'M NOT! IT'S THE STORM!"
I nodded taking a running leap and landing on the railing, making myself fall forward so I didn't slip in the raging waves.
"Mace-darling!"
I turned my head to look at Sanji, not expecting Luffy and Zoro to be missing. I ran over to him. "Where are they?"
After he finished waving at Nami with hearts in his eyes, he told me. "Luffy's fighting some smoke guy." Then his eyes darkened. "And that moss haired bastard is fighting a lady."
I raised an eyebrow, curious to see who it was. "Oh, okay."
Suddenly the Marines were attacking us and I moved away from Sanji, bringing out my sword, slicing my way through the enemy. I heard a splash and turned my head to see Usopp jump in. I frowned and before I could react, was smacked in the face with a club. I yelped at the stinging pain in my cheek, slamming my foot in his face and making him fall into the ocean.
Suddenly I felt something strange and I looked around, feeling this suddenly energy in the air that was famillar once more. I heard a strange laugh and looked to see Luffy and Zoro rushing toward us. Suddenly Luffy stretched his arms and I paled as we were thrown on the ship, my shoulders hitting sharply on the deck. I gave a couple of curses as Nami helped us set sail. I heard curses come from Sanji and Zoro aimed at Luffy.
I looked around in sudden panic and relaxed once I saw Usopp was back on the boat. I looked out at sea and couldn't help, but be excited.
Grand Line here we come.
