Girl Falls Into One Piece

Christmas One-shot II

Me and Luffy were 15 and almost ready to go out to sea. It was Christmas and snowing. It was our first Christmas without Ace. I wonder what he is doing. Luffy woke up Dadan and the bandits, but I was too tired, I was up late last night, I just could not sleep.

Dadan ended up tossing us out of the hut. No doubt we could of beat her up, but we would never do that to her. In some weird way, she was our friend. Luffy laughed as he landed on his head and I landed on my ass hard. I grumbled at my bruised tailbone. I rubbed it and pulled Luffy to him feet by his shirt. Luffy bounced on his feet.

"Mace! What do you want to do now"? I sighed and rubbed my tired eyes, slapping him on the head.

"You couldn't figure this out before you woke me up"? He shook his head, rubbing it and grinning up at me, giving his signature laugh. I had to laugh with him and suddenly shivered.

"Damn, I need a jacket". I walked back to the hut and stopped when Luffy did too. Here we go, 5, 4,3,2,1…

"I'M COLD"! He was shivering and I smirked at him. It was snowing and I walked back in the hut. Dadan yelled at me.

"What are you doing back here"?! I ignored her and went in our little sleeping area and grabbed two fluffy jackets, one blue and one red. Dadan yelled.

"BRAT! DON'T IGNORE ME"! I grinned at her, walking past with the jackets and said.

"Merry Christmas". Just like a couple of years ago. Her face went pink and she glared and I ducked with a yelp as she threw a frying pan at me. I turned around and heard Luffy yell.

"OW"! I saw the frying pain stuck in his face. I laughed at him and grabbed the handle, yanking it off and throwing it somewhere behind me. I picked up Luffy had and put it on his head so the sides covered his ears. I then gave him his jacket and he put it on and zipped it up, I did the same with mine and sighed in relief. So warm!

"So what do you-".

I was stopped by a loud booming voice I knew all too well. "MERRY CHRISTMAS! MY GRANDKIDS"! I paled and Luffy looked at me wide eyes. Luffy asked.

"Run"? I nodded, pale.

"Yeah, run". We ran off, but Luffy slammed into a tree, I face palmed. As I was holding his hand and his body was made of rubber, I was flung forward into something hard. I heard a deep laugh then went on.

"Hi, Grandpa". He then bear hugged me to where my spine cracked and I groaned. He dropped me and grabbed Luffy, roughly messing up his hair and then dropped him. This man is crazy and most of the stuff he does should be considered child abuse. Considering he dropped Luffy on his head.

He didn't 'train' us today or anything as I made Luffy not say anything about being a pirate. After sulking and pouting, he agreed. Neither of us wanted Grandpa's 'Fist of Love' or just plain old bruises for Christmas.

For some reason he was a bit more subdued than usual. He actual brought a first. Luffy grinned.

"Thanks, Gramps"! He dug in and three of us fought over our food, it went like this:

Me: Don't touch that, Luffy! It's mine!

Luffy: Shishishi! Finders keepers, Mace!

Grandpa: Brats! Keep your hands to yourself *Fist of Love*

That was how it was until not even a crumb or drop was gone. I got to admit, it was fun. After we finished, I laid in the snow and Luffy was running in the snow. Surprisingly, Grandpa was sitting next to me. I mumbled.

"I wonder what Ace is doing"? Is he having fun with his first Christmas without us? I hope he is, even if we miss him, this is fun! Grandpa heard me and laughed.

"That brat is fine". I nodded my head.

"Yeah". His eyes looked serious for a moment and he asked.

"Mace, you know about Ace, right"? I thought about what he was saying and then nodded my head.

"Huh, about his dad, so what"? I didn't care which Luffy thought it was sorta cool. He laughed, though it was quieter this time. He ruffled my short hair and said 4 words that still confuse me.

"Luffy is the same". I shrugged and laid back, wondering what Ace was up to again.

Whitebeard Ship

The ship was going wild, they had a couple of Christmas tress scattered around the large ship. Portgas D. Ace was grinning, a plate of food piled high and a mug of grog in his hand. Whitebeard was sitting in his chair, drinking easily with a grin, his nurses looking at him worriedly (not that he was concerned at all). Thatch was having the best time in the kitchen, though he was ready for a break.

Marco the Phoenix was relaxing, drinking, but stared at Ace because he had this weird look on his face.

"Eh, Ace-yoi". Ace looked up and asked.

"Huh, you say something Marco"? The pineapple haired man rolled his lazy eyes and said.

"Why do you look like that"? Ace looked softened into a fond smile that reached his eyes.

"I was just thinking about my brothers who are about to set sail in 2 years". Thatch suddenly showed up, wrapping an arm around the back of the chair.

"And who are they"? Ace jumped, grumbling at the laughing man behind him.

"Like I said, my 15 year old brothers". Marco asked if he had a picture and Ace's eyes brightened and he dug his hand in the pocket of his shorts until he felt the picture. He showed it to both of them and looked to be lost.

Luffy was grinning, his scar under the left eye stretching with a red shirt, jean shorts and a strawhat. A girl was beside him, sticking her tongue out and glaring ahead, so her face looked funny. They both looked about 12 or 13, though the girl looked 14 or 15. Thatch asked.

"You know the one with brown hair is a girl right"? Ace nodded his head confused to why he was stating the obvious. Marco asked, narrowing his eyes even more.

"Then why are they called you brothers and not your brother and sister-yoi"? Ace looked at both of them blankly and then threw his head back laughing.

"Well, you see-". He fell asleep. They both sighed and shook him awake until he woke up again.

"-we swore to be brothers when we were kids and it just stuck, it didn't really matter. We are siblings". Ace chuckled to himself and Thatch and Marco were talking about something to do with cooking and if Marco was a cannibal by eating chicken tonight. Obviously Marco was getting annoyed. Ace thought about them and what they were doing.

He could imagine Luffy waking up Mace and then Garp coming at some time, fist pounding about being a marine. He knew both of them would be pirates. He loved his crew, even if it took a lot getting where he was. He smiled, he loved this crew like a second family, No one could replace Mace, Luffy or Sabo, but they were all family to him. It made him smile, they knew his heritage, but they didn't care at all.

It made him happy that his life was not linked to Gol D. Roger anymore, that he could live his own life as a pirate and his own freedoms. He hoped Mace and Luffy were enjoying Christmas back home because looking at Pops made him happy how everything turned out in the end.

… …. … … ….. … …

2 years later on the Grand Line

We were sailing toward an island and it was snowing. We just picked up Robin and I have to admit I was suspicious of the woman, even if Luffy let her stay on, What kind of stupid reason for coming on someone's ship is because you let them live. I'm only agreeing to it because even if I'm older than him, Luffy is still the Captain and what he says goes. I can tell Zoro feels the same as I do.

Robin won the crew over with money, a bit of humor and being a woman. I don't have to explain who this applied to. Anyway, I looked at the Calendar and was excited, the first Christmas and it is with the crew, a good first experience if you ask me.

Luffy was grinning running all over the place (Yeah, I didn't what about), Ussop was telling some crazy story about Christmas to innocent Chopper. Nami was staring at a map I would not understand by the railing, Robin was reading a book and Zoro was lying around, Sanji in the kitchen.

I was playing around in the snow, it might be stupid, but the snow felt special, it might be because of Christmas or something. Luffy plowed into me, I yelped and crashed into the snow on the deck, making me shiver. I hugged him back laughing. I grabbed him and pulled us both up. Luffy then decided he wanted to play tag and ran off. I ran to Chopper and Usopp.

"Come on! Let's play tag, I'm it". Chopper giggled and ran off, Usopp not far behind him. I chased them all over the place, my throat hurting a little because I was breathing cold air. I tagged Luffy and we ran from him until we heard 'Land Ho'! Luffy then jumped up on the mast and waited for the island to come closer. I walked up to him and adjusted my hat on my head.

When I got on the island, it was snowing there too. Decorations were all over the place, a couple of trees decorated too. I was warming and I was happy after the fight with freeing Vivi's country we got a little peace. I just wish she was here with us, but I understand. I then remembered I needed more ink, so when I passed a navigation store, I walked in and bought a couple colored ink and walked back out, the bag hanging in my hand.

I walked around the place, people were happy, kids running around in extra clothes, playing tag. I laughed to myself and almost past a small place that said "Smokie's Bar'. Shrugging to myself, I opened the door (which creaked) and saw a couple people on the bar and smiling, talking with people they knew. I sat down on a stool by the bar and ordered a mug of beer (which they called grog).

Drinking it slowly, I wondered what Sabo would be doing what happened didn't. Instead of feeling sad, I was in a good mood. He would be with his crew right now, who knows, we might of ran into each other, he'd have the skill to find us, I know that.

Ace I was the most worried about, he was not with his crew, but searching for that evil bastard. He would be spending Christmas alone. Since we met each other, we never did that. I hope he's doing alright and he catches that guy so he could go back to the Whitebeard Pirates. I was so lost in thought I didn't noticed I finished my drink. I warmed up and I figured I didn't feel like getting drunk, so I threw a couple berries on the counter with a nod at the guy cleaning a glass with a rag and walked out, stepping over a bearded drunk guy near the door.

"I decided to go back to the ship. I hunched my shoulders against the cold. It was so warm in there. The time I got back, everyone was there and it was close to dinner time and I knew Sanji had to make some kind of feast, it made me almost drool, the smells that were coming from the kitchen.

Everyone was doing their own thing; Luffy was chasing Chopper and Usopp around the deck laughing. Zoro was drinking and Nami was relaxing. Robin looked a bit lost for a moment and I felt a bit bad. Not that I'm gonna warm up to her or anything (she's still suspicious), but no one should look like that for a Christmas. I called out.

" 'ey, Robin". She looked at me with that smile of her's.

"Yes"? I grinned at her as I walked past.

"Merry Christmas"! She looked taken back for a second, then recovered.

"Thank you, Merry Christmas to you too". I just smiled and walked back in my room to put my ink away. I heard Sanji yell dinner. I ran out of there and jumped in a seat next to Luffy. There was turkey, some things I didn't know the name of and mashed potatoes. We dove in and for the next 10 to 15 minutes there was only the sound of eating. I took some of everything, everything tasted good. When everything was done, I grabbed a couple of bottles of Sake and walked out of the kitchen, tossing one to Zoro. He nodded in thanks and I leaned against the wall not too far from him.

I raised my bottle after popping the cork. "Merry Christmas"! Zoro smirked and popped the cork on his and raised it.

"To you too"! Chuckling to myself I drank, gaining that warm feeling in my belly I liked. The rest of the night was spent drinking, hanging out on the ship and just having fun until I passed out on the deck.

Portgas D. Ace sighed, knowing what today was. He would give anything to be with his brothers or his crew. He looked ahead as his Devil Fruit kept the boat ahead. He looked ahead at the next island, maybe it was his next lead to that traitor bastard Blackbeard.

Who knows maybe that would be his Christmas present for the Whitebeard pirates and his Pops? Grabbing a bottle of Sake from his bag, he popped the cork and gave three large gulps and set it down again, one drink for each of this brothers, alive and not. Leaning back, he stared in impatience at the new island approaching, 'here I go'.
