Girl Falls Into One Piece
Chapter 23
I frowned, looking at Nami and then the Lapins. "Man, we seemed to have the Devil's luck."
Sanji agreed. "Tell me about it."
Luffy frowned slightly and hiked up Nami a little higher on his back.
Nami mumbled. "Ala…Alabasta." I frowned at her, even with her sickness she is thinking about Vivi.
Luffy seemed to be thinking about the same as me. "Don't worry about that, rest."
I scowled, looking at the monsters. "Luffy, Sanji. We have to go, now." The looks on their faces made it known that they agreed.
Sanji smiled. "She's not even worried about her own life. Just hang in there, Nami." My hand tightened that was on the hilt of my sword.
Sanji scowled a lit cigarette in his mouth. "We have to hurry up and get where the doctor lives. Move it, you damn bunnies. Listen Luffy, I don't want you fighting these guys, alright?"
Luffy frowned. "Why not?"
I shook my head and pulled my sword out a bit, narrowing my eyes at the oversized bunnies. "Anymore moving and you get hit, Nami could die." One attacked and I dived away, Luffy did the other way.
Sanji grunted, kicking a Lapin away. "Dodge and dodge, don't retreat!" I pulled my sword out and stabbed downward, cutting on up, making it fall and the snow turn red about the animal. Luffy kept on dodging. The Lapins looked at the two fallen brethren and stared back at us. I paled at the look in their eyes. I had a bad feeling about this.
Sanji called. "Luffy, go into the forest and hide."
I nodded in agreement. "Yeah, we got you covered, Luffy!" He ran off with Nami into the cover of trees. They all jumped at us again and we cut to the right, running back with Luffy and Sanji had his hat. I knew Sanji would never let anything happen to it, so I left it alone. One attacked Luffy, me and Sanji attacked it at the same time with kicks and slashes, it feel down the hill easily.
Luffy called. "Hey! Look over here!" Luffy pointed to a cliff.
Sanji said. "Go on! We'll catch up!" He jumped on a lapin in front of us and got the cliff/ledge, I and Sanji did the same. We landed on the cliff and Luffy turned, sticking his tongue out at the big bunnies. I smirked, ha finally! Then they jumped at us and we ran away, Dammit! What the Hell?!
Sanji yelled his voice a bit higher. "Ah, did you have to taunt them?! Get to the top of the mountain!" I was breathing in cold air, making my breath show. Soon enough we lost them.
Luffy asked. "Do you guys see them?"
Sanji looked back and shook his head. "Nah, I can't see them."
I nodded in agreement. "Yeah, we must have lost them." At least it will be safer with Nami now that Luffy won't jump around as much.
"Luffy smiled. "Alright! I guess we lost them, huh?" Why do I feel like something bad is going to happen?
Sanji said. "Nope, they haven't yet." I looked at the same time as Luffy and gaped it shock. They were all crowded to the front of us, far back.
Luffy cried. "They never give up!"
I frowned. "Yeah, but neither can we. What are we going to do?"
Sanji blew a puff of smoke. "I have no idea." Before I could say anything, they all started jumping at once.
Luffy was confused. "Why are they jumping up and down?"
I shrugged. "I have no idea."
Luffy said. "Maybe their grouchy because their hungry."
I shook my head, watching them with narrowed eyes. "I doubt that's it, Luffy."
Sanji voice was then filled with horror. "Oh no, don't tell me." My head snapped to his quickly, the alarm in his voice making me worry.
I snapped. "What? What's happening?"
Sanji looked pale. "It's-It's, there's about to be an avalanche!" I could imagine my look of horror matching his. I could almost hear the rumble of snow near them; the snow I knew would be coming back at us. I looked ahead as Luffy and Sanji talked.
My jaw dropped in horror. "U-uh! We have to go now! Quickly!" Sanji gaped, his cigarette gone and Luffy screamed. The snow was falling by the gallons, maybe even tons. I spun around and ran away, the others behind me.
Sanji screamed. "Damn those two over grown bunnies! I'm going to kill them!"
Luffy yelled back. "Damn, what are we going to do?"
I huffed. "Just run dammit!" I ran faster.
Sanji called. "Make it to that cliff!" I looked to where he was pointing and nodded, grabbing Luffy's wrist and running the cliff, tossing him up there. He yelled out and Sanji was up there. The snow was at my heels and I gave a burst of speed, crouching and then jumping the cliff, my stomach landing on it so I was half on and half off. I lost my breath, but pulled myself next to them.
Sanji choked. "Oh no! We aren't high enough!" Luffy was screaming and I turned around and felt myself freeze in horror. The snow was coming at us, at our height.
I yelled. "Ah, sh-!" The snow crashed into us. We went flying with it. My arms were flailing and I think I was screaming. I choked at the tug on the back of my coat and it was yanked until I bumped into a black back and head of bright blond hair. "Thanks Luffy!" Sabji was in front of me.
Luffy yelled. "Yeah and what are we going to do now?!" I moved back and felt myself moving. I looked around and found out why. We were speeding on a tree; I could feel the rough bark under me. Snow flying in our faces.
Luffy yelled. "We keep on going and we're just going to keep on flying down the mountain!"
Sanji growled. "No way! We were almost at the tip of the mountain, feet away from the doctor!"
Suddenly the Lapins were coming, sliding on tree trunks. Sanji and Luffy screamed in panic.
I growled angrily. "Dammit! What kind of bunny knows how to snowboard?!" I don't care how big these things are, that is impossible!
Luffy yelled. "What do we do?"
Sanji replied. "Give me a moment…slide faster!" I then gripped Sanji around the waist so I didn't fall. I was happy he was worried about Nami at the moment or he would have freaked out at me. We actually moved faster and I cringed at the Lapins behind us. The wind was getting hard, whipping in our faces.
I screamed as the Lapins were on our sides and I arched my back from the small pain I got when one scratched me, drawing some blood.
Sanji screamed. "Ah, a rock!" Sanji then told Luffy he couldn't hit the rock.
I hollered. "Damn, damn! Nami will die if she crashes!" I felt a grip on the collar for the second time today and I felt myself thrown along with a strip of red and yellow past me. Luffy grabbed my collar for the third time and I crashed on my back toward the rock. I yelped in pain and turned around at Luffy scream.
He was hanging. "SANJI!" I looked in horror to see Sanji falling down the snow.
My eyes bulged. "WHAT?! NO! SANJI!" I stumbled to my feet and grabbed Luffy as he had Sanjo glove in his hand. He fell on his ass next to me. I shook his shoulder.
My voice was worried. "Luffy?" He looked at me shocked. I carefully untied Nami off his back and took my jacket off and laid in on the ground and Luffy gently laid her on the jacket and took his own off, laying it on top of her.
Luffy looked down at her. "I know its cold, but wait a little while longer." He placed his hat on her chest. "Hang on to this for me; I'll be right back, okay?" He shifted his look to me. "Mace, watch after both of them for me, alright".
I looked back at him, just as serious. "I won't let anything happen to either of them, I promise you that." He nodded and stood up, knowing my promises were never empty. And yes, his hat is a part of them. Luffy then jumped into the snow. I shivered slightly, it was cold, but Nami needed the coat more than I did, way more than I did in fact.
I sat next to her and leaned my ear to listen, her breathing ragged and her heartbeat fainted than before. My chest tightened and I clenched my fists in the snow. "Hey, Nami. We'll get you to the doctor, all Luffy has to do is get Sanji, I hope he is okay, but he's strong, he'll be fine. I know it, he's annoying and all, but still Nakama. That's very important to me, that and my family." I was just rambling, but I was nervous.
Soon enough Luffy back with Sanji and I noticed he was planning on taking both of them. I shook my head. "No, give me on of them."
He frowned at me. "Mace…"
I scowled and gave him one of my older brother looks. "Luffy." He didn't say anything else, but gave me a sullen look, handing me Sanji. I got Luffy to tie him on my back. Because of his height, his chest was at around the back of my head, but if I hunched slightly, it worked. I felt weird having his slightly feverish breathing on me. I ignored and shivered slightly, the cold sending goose bumps on my skin. I and Luffy decided to give Nami our jackets, she must be warm now.
Sanji had a little weight to him, but weighted less than what I lifted before. We were just about to pass a little Lapin trying to pull a bigger one out of the snow. I trudged in said snow and the Lapin growled at us, blocking us from the area he must have been at. I and Luffy stopped, staring at the baby. Luffy reached over and pulled the paw, letting the lapin fall onto the snow. We were walking toward the mountain.
Luffy said. "I'll get you there, don't die. Any of you."
I grunted, walking by his side. "We won't, you don't either." He gave me a nod. I felt my face get heated from the cold, my skin temperature rising from the cold.
A voice shouted. "Found you! Now, I'll make you pay! I'll make you pay Strawhats!" I growled as I recognized Wapol's voice, the bastard who was eating our ship. I looked back and saw him along with the joker and the black afro guy coming on a gigantic hippo and stop in front of us. I scowled as me and Luffy were forced to stop. We need to get Nami to a doctor and Sanji too. I shifted too roughly, I could hear Sanji's small groan. He was in pain and a doctor needed to look at that.
I shifted to the side and put a hand on the hilt of my sword and was about to pull it out and stopped. I winced, I could hurt Sanji with my sword or they could do it. I had no way to fight; Luffy was in the same boat as me. He had Nami and that was worse. I let go of the hilt of my sword and tensed hands tight at my sides.
The three of them stared at us from the hippo. I tried leaning away from them, but the one with the black afros leaned the same way. I grunted under my breath.
Wapol laughed. "Don't try! You're not getting away!" I huffed and hiked up Sanji a little higher again. I ignored the quiet sound of pain from him.
Luffy was confused. "What the-? Who are you guys?"
Wapol said his whinny voice a little higher. "I'm sick of you Strawhats, I'm getting rid of you for good this time." Does our luck suck or what, it was cold, we ran into stupid Lapins that created an avalanche, hurt Sanji and now we have to carry him. Then this Wapol bastard gets in our way. What else? "I'm going to chew you in little pieces and spit you out."
Luffy said darkly. "Move." He was getting pissed, though I was too.
Wapol glared down at us. "I don't think so, why would I want to do that?"
I scowled, glaring back at him. "Because we have to be somewhere, so get out the way."
Wapol said, his voice louder. "Shut up, Strawhat! I have no intention of letting you and your half dead friends go." Luffy turned and walked away, I walked the other way so we met again when we went around the hippo. He knew it was a waste talking to them. I ignored there yelling at us, I could guess what they were saying. He was yelling about a new law.
Wapol screamed. "Kill the two unconscious ones first because their ignoring me the most!" I tensed my back straighrning in rage and I spun on my heel. Luffy did the same.
Luffy snapped. "What did he say?!" The afro said he would take Sanji and the other one would Nami. Ha! Over my dead body! I ducked from the hit Sanji would have gotten and I was about to fall on my back, but I twisted, falling on my front and quickly jumping to my feet. I saw Luffy about to attack them.
I bit back my rage and grit my teeth. "Luffy! Remember what Sanji said! You have Nami!" He stopped short and made a face like he remembered. Luffy ran off and I went with hit, matching his speed.
Luffy was mumbling under his breath. "Don't fight; you'll pay for this later!" I wanted to go beat them up for trying to kill someone or even hurt someone who was unconscious. That was one of the most dishonorable and cowardly things I heard of in my life. I heard them calling after us, but I fought against everything in my body to turn back and flatten them.
My eyes sharpened as I heard a whistling and we had to jump away from arrows that almost hit us, doing a backflip, so Sanji and Nami didn't get hit.
I growled. "Damn them to every pit of Hell?!"
Luffy grunted, running faster. "We have to hurry!"
I nodded angrily. "I know that!" I caught up with him so we were side by side, calming my breathing so it matched the steps my feet made. I let my breathing come in small pants. The snow was making it horrible to run in, every time I got my foot to the ground, it wanted to suck my boot back, so I had to stomp and run, using extra power and energy.
Luffy looked back and said. "Huh, there's no one. Maybe they run and given up."
I shook my head. "No, I don't think so. They must be here somewhere." My eyes widened and I yelled out. "Left!" He knew what I meant and jumped to that direction and I jumped to the other one, stumbling over the snow. The afro guy was facing Luffy and I was playing a game of dodge the arrows that that joker was flinging at me, much harder with 120 pound something man on my back.
I huffed, skidding to the right. I so love my reflexes right now! I stumped ona high rised piece of snow my back faing him and I spun around, crossing my arms and waiting for the painful bite of the arrow.
I heard a scream. "Nooooooooooo!" Luffy. My eyes widened and I looked above my arms and saw then two Lapins smack them away. I grinned a bit and walked over to Luffy, seeing he was fine and looked at Nami. I frowned deeply, her faces was even redder. I touched her forehead and hissed at the hotness. Like putting my hand in boiling water (not the smartest idea of mine).
Luffy asked. "Mace, you okay?" I nodded, not wanting to speak. He looked me over to with his eyes and nodded back. Yeah, I hide my injuries. I stared at the Lapins that saved us with Luffy.
Luffy mumbled. "Hey, I remember you." One had a baby one on his back and I remember Luffy pulling it out of the snow. It moved hjis arms over his head and I heard more than saw Luffy grin.
He said. "Thanks a bunch! You saved us!" With that I ran off toward the mountain, Luffy following me. The steady beating of my heart was in my ears with my nose running a little and stiff with cold. As we went on, the snow was even worse than before along with the wind, so it was freezing and we were dragging our feet and legs through the snow.
Luffy was mumbling again. "Doctor…Doctor…Doctor." His chant got me saying it over and over in my head; it was the thing that motivated me to keep going along with Luffy by my side. The snow in front of us cleared and I looked in horror at the huge rock mountain we would have to climb with our bare hands. Me and Luffy gave each other a look and then nodded without saying anything. We had to climb that mountain, no question asked.
Luffy put his hands on it and then his feet, climbing up little by little. I prepared myself the best I could, took a deep breath and dug my fingers in the mountain face and climbed, feeling the pain of my finger nails cut. I climbed higher, staying a little bit below Luffy just in case of something. Ignoring the pain based on my fingers I climbed after him.
I mumbled."Sanji…Nami…Sanji…Nami…Sanji…" I continued. I could tell Luffy was struggling, looking up at my fingers, I noticed them turning red. I ducked to the wall when his coat fell from his back and to the ground. I moved my hand and stretched my hand as far as it would go and then crushed my fingers in the rocks, pulling myself up and using my other hand to pull up the rest of my body. I growled under my breath at the pain.
My head hit the rock softly and I felt my eyes shut. I just need…No! I need to stay awake. I heard a scream and I looked up to see Luffy falling, his hands grapping at the rock, smearing blood. My eyes widened in horror and I woke up, adrenaline pumping my veins to grab on again closer to the top. I saw he had a grip and allowed his ass to fall on my shoulder. He hung on his weight on my shoulder. I shook and clenched my teeth.
I panted roughly, more in pain than before. "Luffy! You okay!" I stuffed the toes of my boots in the cracks, legs shaking. I need to hold my strength, Luffy, Nami and Sanji depend on that.
Luffy grunted. "Yeah! Sorry! I'm get off!" He sprung himself off with a pain filled grunt clinging to the wall a few feet from me. I yelped in shock when my fingers loosened.
I cursed. "Ah, fuck!" I then screamed in pain, hearing Luffy call me as I dug my fingers in the mountain, feeling my nails crash and blood come out. I bit back a whimper.
I called as I regained my spot. "I'm good Luffy, don't come down!" I heard him yell angrily at me, but I saw him climb up and I grunted, sticking my fingers in the rock, cringing as white hot pain was in my hands and head. My boots digging into holes under me. Soon enough I was back to a couple of feet under Luffy. Good thing I decided to stay under him like I planned. If it was the other way around, I had a small chance of catching, he can always stretch if the situation was different.
I bit my tongue on a yell as the blood ran down my arms and flinched knowing Luffy was feeling the same. It took a long time, I fell again and so did Luffy, but we saved each other. My nails on my fingers were about gone. Luffy finally reached the top, pulling himself up. My arms shook as I gripped the top of the mountain snow getting in my shirt as I pulled myself on top, belly up. My arms and legs, parts of my hand. I couldn't feel them. I looked at them, they were getting blue. Is skin supposed to turn blue? I never knew that? I slowly moved my arm and blindly reached for something and snatched Luffy's wrist, holding on tightly or as tightly as I could at the moment.
Luffy said, panting. "We're here."
I choked out "I…know." I was feeling Sanji's weight more than ever. I heard a crumbling and Luffy was falling. My eyes widened and I forced myself to move, yelling in agony. I gripped his wrist, but felt myself falling. I whimpered and used the other hand to untie Sanji. I was then grabbed and me and Luffy away from the cliff. I sighed in relief. Me and Luffy were carried somewhere and I knew I had Luffy and we had the others so I let darkness take over, my hand tightly on Luffy's wrist.
My head felt like it was on something soft and my back too. That's not why I woke up, I felt pain, like agony through my veins. I arched my back, looking around widely. I felt wet too. Dazed, I looked to see warm water dripping down my face, near my ears. I moved my arms and saw cloth and cloth of warm water wrapped around my legs and arms, narrowed my bleary eyes to see bandages on the tips of my fingers and wrapped around my hands. I bend my hands and winced, damn that hurt.
I heard a voice. "Hey! Y-you're up!" My eyes flickered to this animal that was walking, books in his hands. He dropped them and hid behind a desk in the room or he tried to, he ended up beside the desk, trembling. I blinked, surprised and confused. What kind of animal knows how to do that?
I mumbled. "Hey, raccoon."
He suddenly got angry and screamed at me. "I'm a reindeer, you idiot!" My eyes widened and my throat hurt, it still felt raw.
I looked down, looking him in the eyes. "Sorry, why am I hurt like this." he squared his little furry round shoulders and walked a little closer, though he trembled.
He said in a cute voice. "Your nails were almost chipped away and you had frostbite in many places, so we had to warm you up. I just got the aptespetic for the pain."
I smiled slightly and my eyes widened. "Wait, where's Luffy, Sanji and Nami!" He looked confused and scared and backed up a couple of steps.
He eyes were wide as he looked at me. "Y-you mean the ones you were with outside?"
I frowned and shifted. "Yeah, my friends and Nakama." He looked at me shocked, eyes more round than before.
He stuttered out. "N-nakaka? F-friends?" I nodded, smiling at the thought of them. "They're fine. The strawhat had same as you, the blond human had black problems and the orange hair girl had a sickness called Mecha." He looked fearful from talking so much, so I smiled at him, hoping to put him at ease. He came closer and had a needle in his hand with liquid. I paled and moved away. I eyed the needle. They are evil. Suddenly, I felt a hand on my throat and I looked to see an old lady with in in shape body pinning me down. I growled and she stuck the needle in me, I groaned and flinched. The old hag laughed.
She smirked at me as I blinked up at her and she let me go. The reindeer yelped in shock. The old lady said with a laugh. "It looks like you're scared of a need no matter how tough you were before." She moved off me and I felt her pat my head. The drug look effect and I closed my eyes; falling asleep better knowing my crew was alive.
That's it, I would like to thank Maistyria for the constructive criticism gave me. I looked over your points and I fixed most of the things in my old stories. One day I might redo everything and make them in the format like this one, but if I do it won't be for a long time. I just noticed this fanfictions been around for a little more than a year, I'm proud I kept it goin that long. I will never give up on this story no matter how long it takes, after all One Piece is still ongoing.
Also, I want to thank for the follows, favorites and reviews. Espically to my frequent reviewer and reader gamelover41592.
