Girl Falls Into One Piece
Chapter 2
After that heartwarming display with the pink snow, Chopper rubbed his face and we made it back to the ship easily, nothing else stopping us. Nami told me and Zoro to drop anchor and I pressed one foot against the side of the boat and Zoro did the same. We both grabbed part of the chain and easily yanked it up, having to use some strength to pull the heavy metal back on the ship. Everyone else was doing things to set sail. Chopper looked back at his home as we moved farther away.
Everyone decided to watch the pink snow. Rolling my eyes, I walked away and climbed up the crow's nest, to watch and to train while I'm at it. I reached the top and just heard Usopp ask if Chopper was going to be alright. I grabbed a random weight with a couple of heavy weights in either side and sat against a railing, lifting it to my chest and then to my knees and then back up again. I shivered as some snow hit my face.
I chuckled a little while later when I heard the others partying, even Zoro was laughing. I dropped the weight and winced when a whole cracked on the deck. I rolled my stiff shoulder and felt myself grin sheepishly. I rubbed the back of my head. "Well, no one has to know, Usopp never comes up here." He is the obvious one who goes insane when something on the ship gets ruined. It must be because this came from his girlfriend Kaya or something like that.
I jumped on the rail and jumped down, bending my knees to absorb the impact of my fall. Zoro eyes flickered to mine at the suddenness of my showing, but went back to smirking at Luffy. I grinned when I saw Luffy with chopsticks in his mouth and nose. I laughed remembering how he used to do that at home. I sat down by Zoro and Sanji and grabbed a unopened Sake bottle and twisted it open, ignoring Zoro's grumbles and Sanji's defense for me easily. I saw Nami go up to Chopper as he back away from Sanji, Usopp and Luffy pestered him. Nami said with a smile. "You're a handful, I hate to tell you, but your new friends are about as crazy as they come. These guys are a lot to handle, but your gonna have to get used to it."
I grinned and took a swig of the bottle, letting a sharp taste go down my throat. I leaned against the wall as he gave her a shocked look. Hopefully it does not take too long to let him relax with us.
I heard Vivi's shocked voice. "Carue, what we're you doing in the freezing river like that?"
I raised an eyebrow and turned my head toward her voice and cracked up laughing at the shivering cold Carue with Vivi holding him. I tucked the bottle against the stomach and continue to laugh. I know it's wrong, but come on! Carue is really a sorry sight right now! Luffy blinked at my sudden loud laughter, but shrugged with a wide rubber grin and laughed too, just as loud.
Zoro laughed too. "10 berries said he slipped and fell into the river!" I shook my head at him. At least I'm not the only one laughing at the bird. I looked to see Sanji grinning too, his teeth visible.
Vivi gasped. "Be quiet, Mr. Bushido!"
I grinned at her. "Come on princess! He'll live…hopefully."
I snorted loudly at the horrified look on her face. "Mace-san! That's a horrible thing to say!" I snickered and for an answer, I took another drink. I then noticed Chopper next to Carue.
Chopper said. "The guy Zoro was swimming in the river and thought he disappeared. He thought Zoro was in trouble so he jumped in the river to help and he ended up getting thrown in in."
I stared at the duck in pity so I held in my laugher with shaking shoulders. I then jumped slightly when I heard Nami scream. "So this is all your fault!" I saw Zoro's head go forward with her punch and I lost it, crumbling in a ball and laughed loudly at the situation that was caused. I only stopped when a crushing pain hit my head. I groaned and stopped, rubbing the bump on my head as Nami screamed. "Shut up you!"
I sat up, grumbling under my breath and took another drink from my sake bottle (which amazingly didn't spill with all my moving) and huffed. The thing was almost empty, I take large sips. I looked up at Chopper's yell. "Flattering me isn't going to make me happy or anything!"
I chuckled at this, we could all see how happy he was. Zoro spoke up. "Hey, what did you mean about Chopper's medical skills anyway?"
I looked at him blankly, did he not know Chopper was a doctor? Nami said with a small grin. "Chopper here is a doctor and a first rate one at that! Doctor Kureha is the one who taught him everything about medicine."
I shivered and knew it had nothing to do with the cold. "Crazy old witch." Nami rolled her eyes at my look and I smirked at the crew's reaction to Chopper being a doctor.
Nami was exasperated. "Really Luffy, what did you think Chopper was when you asked him to join us."
"A talking transforming reindeer monster".
Sanji said. "Back up food."
I slapped a hand to my forehead; way too reassure him Sanji, seriously way to go. As expected, Chopper flipped out and he calmed and then flipped out again, talking about leaving his medical bag behind. Nami then found it easily; it was blue with a white X on the flap. Evryone started to wander and I drunk the rest of the bottle dry. I shook my head, this is stronger than the stuff they sell in the bars.
I heard Luffy yell about snot and I shook my head walking into the kitchen with a grin and going into a cabinet, grabbing 2 bottles and walking out. I waved then both at Sanji, letting him know that I took them and he smiled at me, more genuine than love-dovey this time. I leaned against the wall and popped the cork, watching the crew and saw Luffy chase Usopp with a chopstick chanting, "Eat it! Eat it!"
I laughed at Nam's shocked face when Chopper put some chopsticks up him nose and mouth and went to join them. I took another drink. I blinked; I think…I was getting tipsy. I shrugged; it's a celebration after all. Suddenly Usopp called. "Hey, Listen! All of you!"
We cheered for Chopper and I raised my bottle, drinking to our new Nakama. I tossed it away and coughing slightly. I grinned, feeling myself relax, more than usual. I heard Nami's voice. "You doing alright, Mace?"
I narrowed my eyes at the grinning orange haired girl and grinned. I nodded and felt her pat me on the head. I shook my head slightly heard her move. The rest we're stick partying. I looked fondly at all of them. Chopper, Usopp and Luffy were dancing a little farther away, Sanji and Zoro were arguing about something and Nami was leaning against the wall with Vivi.
By the end of my third bottle, I wanted to dance. I got to my feet, but frowned when I wobbled. The boat should not be moving this much. I walk/wobbled over to Nami and threw an arm over her shoulder. "Hey Naaammmiii!"
She raised her eye…brows, because raising her eyes would be weird and impossible. "Yes, Mace?"
I grinned removing my arm from her and grabbing her hands, wow their soft. I pulled and started moving. "Dance with me."
She laughed and started pulling away. "Mace, your drunk."
I stuck my tongue out at her. "No, you are!"
I sort of twirled her and her eyes glared at me and I twirled her again, giggling to myself and swaying. She sighed and saying. "You have to pay me for this later."
I let go of her, something triggered in my head, owing her money would be bad. "Nooooo! Bye!"
I stumbled over to Luffy and grinned. "Little brother! Dance with me!"
He grinned back at her. "Shishishi! Sure!" I jumped toward him and we started dancing around the deck as we spun in circles until I got dizzy and fell on my butt. Usopp and Chopper laughed and my eyes widened at Chopper. So. Fluffy. I jumped at him, ignoring his squeak and hugged him, rubbing my face against his fur.
I hummed. "Fluffy, furry!" Chopper pushed away from me.
"I'm not a dog or a pet, idiot!" I chuckled and went back to where Nami and Vivi were. Nami was glaring so I went to Vivi. I tilted my head to the side. "Princess Vivi! Dance with me."
She smiled at me and looked strange, but didn't do anything when I grabbed her and started dancing around, twisting and twirling with her laughing. I grinned wider; I love it when my Nakama laugh! Especially since Vivi was looking down before. Vivi let go of me and let me rest against the wall. I blinked at me and she pat me on the head softly, a soft look on her face. Mace, go to sleep okay." I nodded and looked over at my Nakama and then slumped, closing my eyes and fell asleep.
I woke up to talking and a migraine. I groaned, holding my head in my hand. My ass was numb and the skin between my eyes throbbing. I rubbing and went to my feet. I walked into the kitchen and groaned, laying my head on the cool wood. A couple of seconds later, I heard a small clack and a voice. "Here you go, Mace-darling!"
I groaned cringing at how loud he was. "Shut. Up." I raised my head and took a couple of small sips of what was tea. I normally don't like it, but it helped clear my head. I then heard Nami's voice in my ear.
"Drank too much for you to be able to handle, huh?"
I glared. "What?"
She ignored that with a smirk and said. "You're a funny drunk, you know that?"
My eyes widened and she suddenly laughed. "Hey Nami! Dance with me."
I felt my face get hot as I remembered how I acted being drunk with everyone. "Ah Geez." That made her giggle until she laughed. I rubbed my face, scowling. Nami left and trailed after her, smiling with hearts in his eyes and finished the hot drink as it helped about 50%. I then heard screaming and yelling, Chopper's voice to be exact. Luffy was also laughing, so I figured it must be something that he did.
The ship shook and I yelped, wind milling my arms and falling on my backside. I heard Usopp, Zoro and Sanji yelling at Luffy, I decided to see what the big deal was. I stood up and walked out of the kitchen. I heard Luffy ask.
"Chopper? What's the matter?"
My eyes widened at the large eagle dead on the deck, Luffy sitting next to it.
Chopper said. "Nothing, it's just pirates…you really are…incredible!" I laughed seeing the grin on his face.
Luffy laughed. "Yes, we are!" The rest of them grinned at Chopper.
Nami suddenly came by. "Listens guys, we'll be landing at Alabasta soon. This is no time to be joking around like a pack of Hyenas. Come on." They sighed and followed her. I was walking with Chopper. I grinned.
"You having fun Chopper?"
He looked at me with a grin. "Yeah…"
I frowned. "What is it?"
He shook his head and look ahead. "Nothing, I just thought it would be hard to fit in, that's all."
I smiled softly, involuntarily feeling myself soften. "Heh, look Luffy an idiot, Usopp gets scared easily and lies, Sanji is a love-sick cook, Nami's obsessed with money, Zoro basically a drunk and I can get insane a lot of time. You don't need to fit in, just be yourself."
He looked at me with watery eyes and I suddenly felt awkward. I rubbed the back of my hair. I didn't mean to say all of that, it just came out unexpectedly. "Whatever, come on. Nami's needs us. Don't want her getting mad." Chopper eagerly followed wanting to help. Zoro snorted and Luffy was looking at me. I smiled and he grinned, laughing softly, following the others. He liked what I did, but I did what I felt was right.
We walked down the steps and Chopper asked Nami. "What is Alabasta, then?"
Nami replied. "It the country Vivi's father rules."
Usopp butted in. "Yeah, except theirs this guy named Crocodile who trying to take over the country right now."
Sanji continued. "Crocodile is one of the 7 Warlords of the Sea." Chopper asked who they were.
I shrugged. "7 Government dogs that were pirates, but now side with marines for safety because they suck and are not real pirates."
Nami snapped. "That's not it! They're really strong!" Usopp explained it more.
I yawned. "Basically they hire other pirates to do their jobs because they can't do it themselves."
Zoro snorted. "That sums it up about right."
Luffy was excited about facing Crocodile. I blinked as I got a sudden thought. "Hey. What does he have the name Crocodile anyway, does he taste like Crocodile meat or something?"
Luffy started to drool and Usopp, Nami and Chopper stared at me in shock. Usopp whispered or more like stage whispered with how loud he was. "Is Mace going into Cannibalism now?"
Nami just face palmed and Chopper was poking me. I chuckled at their reaction and I looked at Chopper. "What are you doing?"
His face was so serious. "I'm checking for serious signs of Cannibalism." I raised my eyebrows and then laughed at him grinning. He thought I was serious. Besides, he's a species all on his own, he is an Asshole.
I almost missed Vivi's conversation about Crocodile being a hero to Alabasta. She then said he was manipulation everyone to start a Civil War. Her voice was getting panicked at the end. I grimaced; I had one of those at home, the one in America in 1861-1865 with the North and South. My father made me learn about the American wars. So the Spanish War, Civil War, Korean War, Cold War, Vietnam War, World War I and World War II. What I knew about the Civil War was bad; it was nasty, bloody and dangerous. Brother turning on brother. Family going against each other, the country just about torn apart. I pretty sure Vivi's country is not exactly like that since she country is small, but all the same, I knew she would not want to talk about that at all.
I cursed myself for getting distracted and brought myself back when Vivi explained Baroque Works system. "First at the very top of the organization is the boss, Crocodile, he is knows as Mr.0. There are a total of 12 agents and one animal who receive orders from the boss directly. For the most part, these male agents are partnered with female agent. Mr. 1 is paired with . Mr.2 does not actually have a female partner."
I stared at her blankly as she finished and Zoro talked about Mr.3. That a lot of information. It makes it more complicated than it needs to be. When we get rid of them we won't need to worry about how they are grouped. I zoned out about what she was saying until she mentioned the Billions, officers with 200 hundred people. Along with 1800 millions which made 2,000. I smirked, if they are anything like Whiskey Peak, it should be easy. Me and Zoro easily dealt with 50 each. If we pushed ourselves I think we could handle 100 each. That makes 400 done already. Plus the others and more.
I looked at the confident look on Zoro, Sanji and Luffy faces, they must agree with me. Luffy finally said. "Ok I think I understand, are we going to get to Alabasta so I can beat up Crocodile!" He punched a fist out.
Usopp said. "I don't think you get it at all, Luffy."
I shook my head. "You guys are the ones that don't understand."
Zoro nodded in agreement, a smirk on his face, teeth flashing. "Their simple objective is to take over Alabasta, then I can guess what that must mean."
Sanji finished what he said around his cigarette. "The officers as Vivi called them and suburbanites are…"
"…on their way to Alabasta as we speak." Nami finished the rest of it and Vivi had a determined expression.
Luffy nodded a determined expression on his face. "I see, so all we have to do is beat up Crocodile…"
I pushed him with the toe of my boat of my boot with a small grin. "Enough with that, we know."
He pouted at me and stuck out his tongue. "Bleh, hey Mace! You're funny when drunk!"
I gaped at him as everyone laughed except Sanji who yelled at him for being rude.
I glared at him. "Hm, baby!" The crew laughed at his annoyed expression. He knew what I was referring to, when he would cry a lot when he was a kid. My eyes widened as he stumbled to his feet from his criss crossed position and I jumped up, running from him and he followed me.
"Get back here!"
I gave an evil laugh and sped up. "Mwahmwah! Never!"
I heard him speed up and I did too, I then heard Usopp cheer Luffy on, Chopper joining in and I ran back around and for some reason Luffy didn't use his Devil Fruit and I found running away from Luffy a good training exercise on my stamina. I huffed slightly as I noticed Sanji go back in the kitchen and Zoro going to train on the crow's nest.
I almost ran into Vivi and Nami on beach chairs, but swerved and Luffy crashed into them earning a kick and punch to the head. I grimaced and stopped running, walking over to my little brother and bending my waist to look at him. Sanji went back in the kitchen and Nami fixed her chair. Luffy stretched his arms and pulled me down, wrestling with me and I pulled his nose and stretched it back and then let go.
He yelped in shock. "Ah, dammit!" He stuck a finger in his mouth and my eyes widened in horror.
I screeched. "Don't even think about it, Luffy!"
I ran off and slammed the door to the girl's room and locked it, walking over to my Log Book and opening it to a fresh page. I wrote what happened in Little Garden and Drum Kingdom and how Luffy defeated Wapol and got Chopper as our doctor and Nakama. By the time I finished, my head hit the desk tiredly and I fell asleep.
I woke up to loud knocking. I groaned and rubbed my face. I heard Nami's voice. "MACE! OPEN UP!"
I groaned louder and got to my feet and walked to the door, unlocking it and pulling it open. Nami rolled her eyes and walked in. I yawned and rubbed my eyes, walking out onto the deck. Name came back out behind me and was carrying her Log Pose and map. I heard her say to Vivi. "There is no mistaking it, I hope you're ready. We almost made it to Alabasta." It was too early; I could hear the birds chirping. I leaned against the railing and saw Sanji standing over a sitting Luffy. "Luffy tell me what you know right now."
I grinned at the look on Luffy's face when he turned away. I chuckled a little and leaned on the railing more as Sanji knelt down and grabbed his face. "Don't play dumb with me, I want you to look me in the eyes and tell me the truth."
I grinned wider at the look in his eyes, he was going or lie or try to. I was right when he turned to the side and pursed his lips, moving his hand from side to side. "I don't know what you mean Sanji, I have no clue."
Sanji took the cigarette out of his mouth. "Then let me ask you, how did the food for 9 people which I carefully divided up until we reached Alabasta suddenly go missing in the middle of the night. Lying is pointless, you have a terrible poker face. So just tell me the truth."
I gaped at what Sanji said. I exclaimed. "We have no food, what?!" Luffy and Sanji stared at me in shock. I pressed my palms against the railing and jumped over to the lower deck. Luffy cringed away from me. You never take food from us brothers who grew up in the mountains, my appetite gained since I lived there. Not eating as much as Luffy, not close to that, but a lot to normal people standards.
Sanji kicked him and I marched over. Luffy whined. "But, I was hungry!" At that time, my stomach decided to growl.
I grabbed his by the vest on the ground and pulled him up and shook his hard. "Well, I'm hungry too! Why're you so selfish!" His head and neck was stretching. Come on! I'm hungry!
Usopp called. "U-uh, Mace? Maybe you should stop!"
I growled. "Why is that?"
Chopper stared in shock. "Ah, Luffy!" I looked at him and saw swirls in his eyes. I dropped him with a scowl. Sanji then caught Usopp, Carue and Chopper sneaking food while they were fishing.
I glared and waved my arms. "You too!" They cowered away from me and I glared more. I rubbed my stomach as it growled again. I climbed up to the crow's nest as Luffy started to fish too. When I got up there, Zoro was there. He gave me a nod as he was pulling his weights and I grabbed my own, gathering the strength in my arms and pulling my own. I took a deep breath as pull it to my chest and let it out as I pulled it away from me. I heard Luffy, Vivi and Usopp doing something. But I ignored it, the crew was normally loud.
Suddenly green steam was in my face and it smelt badly and I yelped, almost dropping my weight in my lap. Zoro's face was scrunched up, but he tried to ignore it, pulling his weight once again. I continued going with what I was doing before until I tensed, an unfamiliar voice screamed from the ship. I put down the weight slowly and chuckled when I saw the broken boards from before. I saw Zoro stop too and I jumped down, Zoro behind me.
Nami came out and I sat down next to Zoro and Nami. As Luffy, Usopp and Chopper stared at him. This guy was one of the strangest things I've seen. In my time, he would be known as Gay or flamboyant. He had on red lipstick, green eyeliner, some weird swan things in his short black hair, swan white coat, with a blue disco shirt and pink jacket. I looked blankly at shorts that showed his hairy legs. This guy was a trip, seriously.
He started to speak. "Hey, you saved me, Thanks! I never imagined my life would be saved by a group of complete strangers. Thanks again. I'll never forget your kindness! Although could I trouble for a cup of warm soup?"
I glared and we all screamed. "NO WAY!"
Zoro was more pissed as he yelled. "WE CAN'T EVEN FEED OURSELVES!"
The guy looked up at Vivi. "You're just a cutie, oh yeah! Sexy."
I tensed and glared more than before. That creepy pervert better stay away. I felt my protective instinct take hold. Her disgusted face didn't help matters much.
Luffy asked him, not really bothered. "So you really can't swim, huh?"
The guy said. "That's right, I ate a devil fruit. So I can't swin even a little bit."
Usopp said. "Yeah? What kind of fruit?"
I was a bit curious of that myself to see what I would be up against. They guy said. "Well, since I can't leave until my ship gets here, there no harm in a little fun. For saving my life, I'll show you. Now, get ready! This is my power!" He reeled back and slapped Luffy in the face, making him fly back.
What? "What the hell do you think your doing.' I snarled, drawing my sword along with Zoro. But I stuck my sword under his chin.
I blinked at hearing Luffy 's voice. "Wait, hold us, please!" He said the last part at my sword and I blinked some more, backing up a little. "This is all for a little fun, remember?"
I along with everyone else gaped at the guy who had Luffy's face. Luffy jumped up. "Hey, that's me!" I shuddered; looking at my little brother in that getup is just creepy and weird.
Fake Luffy laughed yelling fun before he said. "And if I do this…touching my face with my left hand…" He did that and turned back to his original face and I breathed a sigh of relief that was just way too creepy. "…Now that is the power of the Clone-Clone Devil Fruit you say!"
Nami and Usopp were amazed and I have to admit, that is a pretty interesting power, if I do say so myself. Suddenly, he touched my face and I jerked back with a scowl. The guy did the same with the others and I noticed he didn't slap them. He moved his hand and then changed his face to Usopp, Zoro, Me, Chopper and Nami. "Not just my face changes, but my body too!"
My eyes bulged in shock with everyone else's when he showed Nami's upper body. I choked on my anger when Nami gave him a knockout punch. I grimaced and decided she had it handled.
She screamed with a red face. "KNOCK IT OFF!" He was knocked to the ground and when he got back up; he decided not to show him power, making Luffy, Usopp and Chopper beg him to do it.
I chuckled; it was amusing if you think about. Since he was not a danger to the crew, I didn't want to kill him, he's just a idiot, but looked easy to get along with so far. I walked over to the other side of the boat where Nami and Zoro were. Zoro rolled his eyes. "This is boring." I looked as the man changed faces.
I leaned against the railing and grinned at Nami disgruntled expression. "Ah, Nami just mad about earlier."
She glared at me and snapped. "And you wouldn't?!"
I frowned and thought about it. "Uh, yeah. Mad about it and all, not embarrassed.
She scowled at me. "There is something wrong with you!"
I snorted. "You need to get in line with that statement, I've heard it all before."
Zoro snorted. "That's not a surprise."
I huffed. "You guys are always picking on me, you know." I got two shrugs in response. I laughed as they joined hands and started dancing and singing. Nami rolled her eyes and blinked. I looked to see a ship ahead and that guy jumped on the railing and I moved back a step. I lay a hand on the hilt of my sword, what do they want.
The guy said. "Alas, I must be leaving now."
The three of them booed in response. The guy said. "Try not to be sad, journeys must always include farewells. And yet, I will never forget you or today. It's been brief, but true friendship is not measured by time, see ya friends!" With that, the flamboyant man jumped off onto his ship. I gaped when one of the men said. "Yes, Mr.2! Mr, Bon Clay, sir!"
What!? The guy from Baroque Works Vivi was talking about! The crew was just was shocked as I was. Luffy shouted. "Vivi! You mean you didn't know him just by looking!?"
Vivi was still looking startled as she said. "Uh-uh. I never met Mr.2 or Mr.1 or his partner. I don't know much about any of them or what their powers are, though I have heard rumors about them all. I heard about Mr.2, he is a very tall ballerina and talks like a women. And he always wears a swan coat. The coat says Bon Clay on the back."
There was writing on the back that I didn't pay attention, but she basically described him and still couldn't figure it out. She then gained a worried, no a scared look on her face.
I frowned and asked. "Hey, what is it?"
She said, holding a hand to her face. "I recognized one of the faces he made. One of the faces belonged to my father, Cobra Neffritari. My father, the King of Alabasta!"
I scratched my head. "Well, shit."
Zoro nodded in agreement. "Well, that's not good, imitating the face of a king that easily has the potential to cause a lot of trouble." I frowned deeply as Nami explained how we would not be able to trust each other. That's hard for me, I trust everyone on this ship.
Zoro then smirked and grabbed Luffy shoulder. "Wait, hold on a sec. Luffy's slow, but he's right not to be scared. Just hear me out on this one and I think you'll agree. It's actually a good thing we ran into Mr. 2 when we did because now we can prepare and beat him at his own game."
I thought about that for a moment and figured he was right. If we know his power, he could be more aware of what is possible. I smirked and Zoro nodded, he knew I would catch on. Nami looked blankly at the three of us and was about to say something, but the boat started shaking. My eyes widened and stumbled as waves shook the boat and were going left and right. I gripped the railing and grabbed Chopper by his back before he could fall overboard. I felt a shadow and the boat stopped shaking. I put the reindeer down and turned around.
"Woah."
Luffy agreed with me. "That thing is huge!" It was this white thing that looked like a cat, but had green scales and lived in the water, so I guessed it was some kind of sea cat. I flicked out my sword as did Zoro. Look at how big that thing was…food! My stomach growled at the thought. I was next Luffy and Zoro, ready and strike and kill it. I don't even care that it looks like a cat. It started moving away and my eyes widened in horror.
Luffy yelled. "No! It's getting away!" I growled, no it won't! Sanji ran over screaming not to let it get away. Like I would let it. Sanji joined us. They started taunting it.
I grinned and my stomach growled and I tightened the grip on my hilt. "Come on, Dinner!" Suddenly, I got smacked in the head and I groaned in apin, narrowing my eyes for the person that did it and to my surprise it was not Nami, but Vivi. Luffy groaned. I saw they got hit the same as I did.
Sanji asked. "Why, Vivi, why."
Vivi snapped. "You can't eat a sea cat. I just can't let you! Sea cats are sacred animals in Alabasta!"
I pouted and rubbed my head, giving her the puppy eyes. "But, I'm hungry!" I whined slightly, I was getting really hungry; you won't like me when I'm hungry! She looked to be softened and I looked eagerly toward the sea, but she shook her head at me.
"No, Mace-san!" I sighed and let my head hit the deck, my stomach growling again.
I smacked Luffy on the head when I saw him biting the railing. "Don't do that." I walked away with a sigh, rubbing my stomach.
Nami called. "Mace, come here! We're almost at Alabasta!" I turned back around toward them and sighed, walking back. Zoro threw me a marker, explaining an idea about how to keep an X on us with a bandage on us so we know that it is really us and not Bon Clay. I took the cap off with my teeth and drew a black X a little bit above my wrist. It looked weird, the sharp black against the white, a little tanned skin. I grabbed a bit of bandage let Usopp tie it around my wrist to cover the mark tightly. I nodded in thanks. I was curious to see what Alabasta was really like.
I looked around; everyone was doing the same thing all around. Zoro said. "Just tie it on tight, don't let anyone fool you. We can't get fooled by disguises."
Nami smiled. "It's a good plan; we'll always know who our friends are." I nodded in agreement as I leaned against the railing and tried to wedge a finger between the bandage and my skin, it couldn't so I figured it would be fine.
Sanji asked as he tied on his bandage. "So this Clone-Clone fruit guy? Was he that similar to everyone else?"
I shook my head in disbelief. "You have no clue. If he had on Luffy clothes, I could have been fooled, though I know Luffy's personality so I would have figured it out…" Usopp went off at how amazing it was and Sanji basically said he was not impressed.
Zoro said. "We now know someone like that is among the enemy. So we need to be careful and on guard at all times."
I sighed and stretched my arms. I can't wait to get there and I was also hungry. It's been a while since I've gone a little bit without food. In the forest there were always animals to kill and sometimes Makino would bring cake or candy with her to give us. I gave a fond grin at the thought of where I got my sweet tooth from.
Chopper came over and asked. "So what can I do?"
Usopp said. "Just does what you can do, you're not expected to do anything else! If you get overwhelmed, just run."
I snorted and said.
"Don't worry about that, okay. Just try your hardest and the crew will help you when you come short, that is what Nakama is for after all."
Chopper smiled brightly at me and nodded. "Okay, Mace! I got it." I got a warm feeling at making him feel better and grinned, damn Chopper's making me go soft. I bet he could even make Zoro go soft.
Luffy called out. "Hey! I see it!" I looked and my eyes widened at the big island I saw in front of us. It was as big as a small state from back home. But it was very sandy, with big hills.
Vivi said. "It's called Nanohana; we have to hide the ship."
That makes sense, most people aren't pirate friendly. Luffy said. "Alright, no matter what happens on that island remember, this thing on all our arms is a sign of our friendship!" I smiled as we all brought our arms to the center, showing the bandages. "Now, let's land okay! Then eat…and help Vivi."
I chuckled at him adding Vivi as an afterthought. But my stomach growled and I felt myself nodding in agreement with Luffy.
They all chimed. "That's a side note."
I laughed this time and rubbed my stomach. Usopp gave me a blank look. "You are just as bad as Luffy is."
I raised my eyebrows. "Your point?" He shook his head and looked ahead.
Nami said. "Remember, we'll be facing a group of assassins." She was talking to Luffy at this point and turned around on the railing so my upper arms we leaning on it and staring at the sandy island getting closer. I smiled, I couldn't wait!
