A/N A huge thanks to my very awesome friend OoJasper'sAngeloO for her beta work on this chapter. Hope you enjoy.

I do not own Twilight or any of the characters, I do own Catherine and a few others.

Jasper's POV

Twenty-five Years later. . .

Today is Christmas day and yes we are celebratin' the holiday. It was one of those times that we didn't used to bother with, but we had started when Nessie was born. Although I never understood the need to do so even then.

It wasn't until Cath and JJ became a part of my life that I understood the holiday. I understood that the holiday was originally started to celebrate the birth of Jesus by the humans, but even the humans no longer celebrate it for that reason any longer. That thought somehow makes me sad.

Now we celebrate it for the family. We see it as a time to just be together and enjoy each other. We do give gifts to the younger kids, but the adults just enjoy watching the kids tear through the paper to see what they got. The light in their eyes brings us to tears or at least as close to tears as vampires can get.

When Nessie was physically sixteen years old her and Jacob were married. I was kind of surprised that Jacob kept their relationship pure until they were finally married. He said that he would rather die than to dishonor her by touchin' her before their weddin' night.

While she was full grown by the time she was seven years old she wanted to wait until she was older before gettin' married. The real reason though was only known by her, Jacob, Cath and I. I'm not sure if her mom ever suspected the real reason, if she did she never let on.

Nessie and Jacob came to Cath and I and both talked to us askin' to not let anyone else know of our conversation, especially Bella. Nessie was more worried about leavin' her mom alone. They wanted to wait to get married at least for a few more years. Bella hadn't found her mate yet.

While they wouldn't necessarily wait until she did, they both wanted to give her time to get used to the idea of bein' alone. Although that does sound kind of funny as she would hardly ever be alone. She had the whole family and she had Cath.

Cath and her became very close and bonded over the kids. Bella was able to help Cath when things became overwhelmin' to her durin' her first year and helped her be able to be there for JJ. It took Cath a long time to get past all the noise. We ended up movin' into the cottage because of all of the noise in the house.

It was normal activities, but since she had woken up she had times when the noise would just overwhelm her and she would run tryin' to get away from it. Bella was able to help her learn how to push past it until she got used to it. She also had a harder time than Bella did as a newborn.

She was more controlled than normal newborns, but she couldn't go around humans until she was almost a year and a half into her vampire life. The first time we tried to test her control we hadn't even left the house. Bella's father came to visit her and Nessie.

He hadn't made it up to the porch before she started thrashin' and tryin' to get to him. Emmett, Rose and I had to sneak her out the back and take her to the cottage. Unfortunately I got a couple of bites and so did Em. She was heartbroken when she finally got her head cleared.

She had bitten us and she would have killed Bella's dad if she had been able to get to him. Even knowin' that it was normal behavior for a young vampire didn't help with the fact that she almost killed an innocent human, someone who was loved by the whole family. Even Bella couldn't seem to help her out of her depression at first.

We told her about all the times I slipped and I'm an older vampire and she finally came around, but swore she wasn't goin' to be around him until she knew she could control her blood lust better. Of course Charlie knew about the deaths of Edward and Alice.

He had been told that they had been killed in a fiery car crash. It had burned so hot that there was nothing but ashes and a few charred bones. There was a memorial service for them. It was a hard time for the family as we had to play the part of a grievin' family while tryin' to keep Cath from attackin' the humans that were tryin' to be kind and wantin' to help us through our time of grief.

Charlie became a fixture for a couple of weeks and Cath had to either stay away or hold her breathe. Fortunately Bella and Nessie, as well as the rest of the family, were truly grievin' so they didn't have to put on an act.

She was finally introduced to Charlie as my wife and JJ was able to keep her calm and somehow she was able to stay around him as long as JJ was with her. Of course JJ was our son and we told him that we had met at college since I was supposed to be away at school. He fell in love with JJ just like everyone else that met him.

He was the only human she hung around for any length of time and tried to stay away as much as possible since the whole time she was in his presence she was fightin' her blood lust. The first true test came when Charlie had asked Sue Clearwater to marry him and we had to go to the weddin'.

It was a year and a half after she was changed and of course there were mostly humans there. She was able to control herself and she ended up enjoyin' the weddin' and loved that she could be there for her sister's dad on his special day.

Him and Sue had seventeen years before death took her. She found out about ten years after their weddin' that she had cancer. Carlisle had spoken to her about bein' turned once they knew it was terminal. She said no of course, but he wanted her to have the option.

She fought for seven years before her body finally just gave out. She died at home on Thanksgiving and it was then our turn to help Charlie through the grief and loneliness. I have to say that it was Nessie and JJ who helped him the most. They were both full grown and Nessie had already married Jacob.

They had had a son by the time Sue passed away. At least she didn't die alone. Her kids, Leah and Seth, were there as well as Nessie and Charlie. Jacob and Nessie named their son after Charlie and called him junior.

It was three years later that the day that Bella had been dreadin' more than any other time finally happened. Charlie had retired long before Sue passed away and since he had refused to move in with us when Bella had asked him, someone went to see him and check to make sure he was eatin' regularly.

Bella and Cath had taken some food that Esme had prepared for him over early that mornin' and shortly after they had gotten there Cath called me very upset and I could hear Bella cryin' in the background. Charlie had gone to sleep and passed away quietly.

This was the first time I truly was grateful to our son JJ for his gift. He had a slightly different gift than I did. He can't feel the emotions of others, but he can influence the whole area wherever he is. He had done it when Cath was turnin', but since he was a baby then he could only influence a small area.

He was full grown by the time we lost Charlie so he was able to let us grieve, but he also knew that the emotions of everyone hurtin' was more than I could handle and stayed close to me to help lighten what I was feelin'. He just sent me some peace and made sure that everyone else could grieve like they needed to.

I was one of them, but with all of the emotions goin' around me from the family it helped that he could send me peace even when he too was hurtin' from the loss of one of the most unusual humans our family has ever had the pleasure of knowin'.

He could make a whole room feel whatever he wanted them to. He could do it without havin' to feel the emotions himself. That would have been nice, but I have to feel the emotion before I can project it. He had complete control over it.

After the funeral we decided as a family that it was time to move. We had been here way too long as it was, but we did it for Charlie, Bella and Nessie. Now there was nothing to keep us here any more. We decided to move to Denver. Carlisle and Esme had a large house up in the mountains and the wildlife was plentiful.

It wasn't too isolated though. With Nessie and Jacob enlargin' their family and havin' JJ all grown up and in need of friends outside of the family we wanted them to have a chance to go to college and meet others close to their own age.

It wasn't until JJ decided to travel to where we knew some hybrids lived in South Africa that he found his mate. Apparently there were more than just a few hybrids like Nessie and JJ. We found out about them through a friend, Garrett, who had helped us when the Volturi had decided to come and kill Nessie.

There was a whole village of them. They had apparently found each other and the two or three that had accidently stumbled on each other decided to try to find others of their own kind. If Alice and I had gone there instead of the Amazon we probably would have found them instead.

Apparently even hybrids can find their mates the same way a full vampire can. I remember the day he called me. Cath and I were alone and just enjoyin' each other when my cell phone went off. I almost didn't answer, but decided to check the caller ID.

He was scared. He said that he had met a girl and that she was so beautiful. He had no clue what to do. I told him to talk to her, get to know her and then bring her home. I told him to just remember all of the things he had watched me do with his mama and to make sure that he was the gentleman that his mom and I had raised him to be.

Two weeks later he came back home with the prettiest lil' gal on his arm. She was small like, Cath but still was a little taller than her and had dark brown hair. She was outspoken, a spitfire, and wasn't afraid to speak her mind. She seemed to be familiar to me, but I couldn't place where I had met her from until Cath pointed it out to me.

Turns out I had never met the girl before and the reason she seemed to be familiar to me was because she was so much like Cath in personality. He had mated to a girl so close to what his mama was like and even he hadn't realized it. Of course the girl, Brittany, was welcomed into our home, our hearts and our family.

They were married two months after arrivin' and spent their honeymoon on Isle Esme. They spent two months on the Isle before coming back and the only reason for that was because she had gotten pregnant. Everyone was ecstatic and went into another baby comin' got to get shit to make a nursery mode.

She carried our first grandchild for three months. We welcomed our granddaughter into the world on Thanksgivin' day. She was a special blessin' and it seems that no one could get enough of her. I don't think she ever spent a night in a bed until she was a year old. We now have five grand kids.

We have even more to celebrate this Christmas though. Like I said Nessie and Jacob finally married and they have six kids with another on the way, but that's not the reason for the extra cheery feelins' this year. Bella finally met her mate.

He's perfect for her of course and he loves Nessie as if she were actually his own daughter. His name is Matthew and he's six five with black hair and a black mustache. He was twenty when he was turned and actually heard about a coven of vampires that had learned to live off of animal blood.

He said he felt a pull like he just knew he was supposed to find us. He's very soft spoken and his personality was such that as a normal vampire killin' humans it would have eventually destroyed him. He saw all life as valuable and hated that he had to kill in order to survive.

Findin' us was a huge relief, especially when the whole family promised to help him change his diet. I spent a lot of time with him and explained that I had the hardest time with stickin' with the diet because of my history and the fact that I could feel everyone's else's blood lust.

He had no special gift except the ability to love deeply and be gentle. He treasured his mate like she deserved to be treasured. He never tried to control her, but he also wouldn't let her control him either. It was the perfect balance for both of them. They both just wanted to do whatever the other wanted. You didn't need to be an empath to see the love that blazed whenever they looked at each other.

Cath we found out did have a gift, but it wasn't one that she could control. It was there, but she couldn't turn it off or on and couldn't bring it down either. She didn't even know that she had it when she jumped in front of us when the Volturi attacked us.

She said that at the time it just felt like the right thing to do. No gifted vampire has been successful yet in usin' their gift on her. It just turns back to the one who sends it. Even I can't really influence her, although when I send her an emotion she can feel it, but it always comes back on me.

JJ can a little, but his actually works on the atmosphere so it works better, but she did finally learn that if she concentrated that she could accept whatever emotion he uses and it has worked for my gift as well, but it always drains her to do it. I made her promise to not try to stop it.

Aro never did find replacements for the gifts that he lost when he tried to kill us. Although what we did was justified we did promise to help when it was needed. They had to make a serious change though, one that we knew cost them dearly. Chelsea was ordered to stop usin' her influence to bind the guard members to the three kings.

Now it was done on the same basis that the human military does it. You have to enlist, but to do so means rewards beyond the imagination. The gifted ones even more so. They are treated as royalty more out of respect than fear.

They also, with the help of Carlisle, set up smaller command posts so to speak in other countries. The rules stayed the same and the punishment also never changed. To be out of control or expose what we are to the humans still meant a swift death.

What did change is that the brothers rarely had to leave Volterra because they would be given the information and the orders sent to the nearest command post to where the trouble was.

While we never actually performed the act of executioner we did have to go and find out why things were happenin' in certain areas. It was always acts done by vampires and we would take any prisoners to the nearest compound and let them deal with the offenders.

A couple of times though it turned out to be human offenders who had somehow found out about the existence of vampires and were on a "witch hunt" so to speak. Thats where our real work came in. We had to find out how they found out and then deal with them as well as the ones huntin' our kind down.

Of course it always seemed to go back to a vampire who was out of control. That vampire had to be dealt with and then the humans had to be made to look crazy. They usually ended up in institutions for the criminally insane. No one would ever believe their stories.

I was brought out of my thoughts by Cath who was standin' a couple of feet away from me. She looked at me and smiled then looked above her head. There was mistletoe above her and I knew what she wanted.

I was at her side and she was in my arms before she could even process that I had moved. I kissed her deeply and after a minute I heard a very familiar voice sayin' "Ewe, can't you two ever stop?"

It was our son and he was smirkin' at us. I knew he was only kiddin'. He knew what it was like to have someone love you for you and he had been caught in the same position as we just had. I let go of his mama long enough to grab him and start to wrestle with him.

After a few minutes we were forced to stop our wrestlin' match to put the kids to bed. Some of my granddaughters wouldn't go to sleep until I sang to them. I guess I had spoiled them, but I didn't fuckin' care. I have never felt this much love.

I'm so fuckin' glad that I met Cath and she helped me to kill Jasper Hale and become the man I should have always been, Jasper Whitlock. I planned on showin' her just how grateful I am later. . .

The End or possibly the beginning.

A/N Please let me know what you think. Like I said this is the end and I know that some of you really don't want this story to end. I get almost no reviews with this story and while I don't write for reviews, it helps to encourage me to want to write. I usually got about 3 reviews for each chapter posted. So I'm really wanting to just finish this since very few people are reading it anyway. I am already thinking of the next story and I'm not making any promises as to when I'll start posting it. I haven't even started writing it. For those who took this journey with me a huge thanks. I hope you enjoyed the ride. Thanks to everyone who did review and added this story to their favorites and alerts. Love you guys.
