Girl Falls Into One Piece

Chapter 31

I guess this will be a early Valentine's Day present/update since I finished this today.

Once again we traveled in the desert with the hot sun beating down on us. I seriously hate the heat. It sucked. Eyelash, the camel was in front of us with Nami and Vivi on him. Luffy and Usopp were panting and it was getting on my nerves. To me, it just made everything hotter. I looked back to see Zoro dragging Chopper and even Ace was scowling. I was walking next to Luffy.

He took a big gulp of water and I sighed, moving away. Since they found out I had my canteen, I was punished with no water until later. Ace cracked up when he heard that, making me feel more annoyed. I licked my dry lips and move backwards until I was walking with Ace with my hands shoved in my pockets. He spared me a look, but didn't say anything.

I could still hear Usopp from back here. "AH! What are you doing?! Ah! Stop spilling all the water, you slob!"

I snorted and heard Luffy say. "Well, what's the big deal? Ace brought plenty of water for everybody!"

I huffed and grumbled. "Then why am I being punished?"

Zoro told me. "It's what you get for being greedy."

I grit my teeth. "I didn't ask you!"

He just snorted loudly to himself and kept on walking. I walked along with Ace and he chuckled. "How did you think they were going to react?"

I shrugged and looked at him. "I dunno, not like that."

Ace smirked. "It is something you would think of, I just didn't think you would be careless enough to get caught. Don't worry, you'll get water later."

I listened to them fight up there instead of answering him. I heard Luffy say. "Why is it okay if Sanji does?"

Sanji said back. "This is for Nami, so if she gets thirsty and dehydrated and cries out for water, I'll be there to rescue her!" I laughed as he ran to Nami and Vivi. Luffy chashed after him. Soon enough Usopp, Sanji and Luffy were fighting. I notcied the temperature rising a bit and it was a strange type of heat. I looked over at Ace to see it was him.

I didn't want to touch him so I asked. "What's going on?"

"That guy is such a pervert. Does he act like that in front of you?"

I rolled my eyes, I forgot how protective Ace could get. Though I did smile nervously at him. That's all I needed was for him to attack Sanji. "No, so calm down. That's just the way he is, like how you fall asleep randomly and how I like to train, so cool down, literally."

I snickered to myself at the last bit, Ace wacked me. "Shut up with that."

I stopped when I noticed they did. Luffy, Sanji and Usopp got louder. Eventually we started moving again and Luffy ran off with the water Sanji had. Usopp and Sanji were on his tail. I heard Usopp call after my brother. I sighed as the heat hit me again. I groaned and gave Ace a pleading look. "Come on, can I have some water?"

He raised an eyebrow. "I won't always be here, you know."

I scowled at him and he grinned, laughing at me. I glared and felt my ears redden in embarrassment. He tossed me a water skin like the one Sanji had. "There, don't waste it."

I grinned at him in thanks and took a long drink from it.

"What the heck is that?!"

I heard Luffy call and I ran forward until I was up to Luffy, Sanji and Usopp. I looked to see a purple hooked thing coming out of the sand. Luffy knelt by it. "It looks like a tail."

I walked over to him and knelt down to. "What do you think it is?"

He shrugged. It was moving and he poked it with a stick. "Hello there, don't be shy..."

I felt nervous looking at the thing, it reminded me of something. "Uh, Luffy? Maybe we shouldn't-"

I jumped at his yelp and fell on my back as the thing rose up and above us. I scrambled to my feet and stood, hand on the hilt of my sword. My eyes widened when I realized I was standing on a scorpion. I know one thing about these desert animals, they're deadly!

While Luffy was in awe at it, I jumped up, slashing the tip of the tail away, so the stinger couldn't hit us. I heard Usopp screaming in the backround. Zoro, Chopper and Sanji attacked it. I grabbed Luffy's collar and jumped off it, wobbling a little on the sand. I let go of him. Since I was at a better angle, I could attack it better.

I darted forward, slashing it down the middle, easily killing it. I kicked the dead body, stupid desert animal. Ace fried the thing and Sanji grabbed one of the claws, chanting about giving it to Nami and Vivi. Sanji turned to me and I said before Ace could flip out. "I'm fine, go ahead and give it to them."

He did and I grabbed part of the main body, biting out a chunk. If I found something like this from the time I used to live in, I would be grossed out. But since I grew up on eating just about anything from the forest with the bandits, I couldn't really be bothered to care. Nami and Vivi screamed in horror and Nami yelled at us.

Luffy was confused. "What wrong with her?"

I snorted, Nami wouldn't be used to eating food like this, especially not a princess like Vivi either. The others looked confused and shrugged. I sat down and ate my meat, my water helping with washing it down.

After we finished all of it, we were ready to start walking again. I stretched my arms over my head and pressed my hands to the ground, getting up. I looked at the ground, there were only bones now. Ace asked as we were in the same walking position as before. "What have you both been up to since I was gone?"

I noticed the sun was going down and put my hands behind my head in a relaxed position. "It was boring, really all we did was spar, train, see what you were doing in the paper and suffer from Gramps wanting us to be marines."

We both shivered at that. He was still scary, even if we were now pirates. Seriously, in my times, the things he did would be called child abuse. I told him about our adventures from when we set sail, how we met our crewmates. all the way until now. I didn't tell him every exact thing, like what exactly Arlong did to Nami, I get somethings are personal.

My fists clenched at the thought of that bastard, I hated him. I never thought I could actually hate someone as much as I did those fishmen. Ace smiled. "You both seemed to have quite the adventure, helping someone become a marine? You guys also helped alot of people."

I shrugged. "We're pirates, we do what we want."

He nodded in agreement. "Yeah, but I and Luffy have a bounty, what about you?"

I glared darkly at him. "Shut up about that, I'll have one soon!"

I moved away from his hand as he went to pat my hat. It was getting a little colder and I was surprised to see how dark the sky had gotten, damn sometimes time really does fly.

We settled down for the night and I decided to take over first watch. Zoro would be second. Vivi and Nami slept close together in one area. Zoro was leaning against a rock with his arms crossed over his chest. Sanji was close to the girls, but at a respectful distance, curled up on his side. Luffy was between Ace and Usopp and Chopper was curled up on Usopp side.

I looked them over and realized I was protective over them. Sure, I got annoyed from time to time, but they were my nakama and I didn't want to lose any of them. I smiled softly to myself and looked ahead, wrapping my cloak tighter around my shoulders when a wind picked up, my right hand laying on the hilt of my sword. I smiled a bit wider. I remember when Ace gave me this 3 years ago. I was never getting a new one, or at least, I was never getting rid of this one.

I opened my pocket watch and saw that I only had a little bit before it was Zoro's turn. I looked at Shanks engraving and flipped it over to our mark. I felt a deep pride when I looked at that mark. Eventually, it was time to switch and I stretched my back, looked around for any kind of danger and then went over to Zoro.

I patted his shoulder a couple of times until he woke up. He blinked at me, but then just gave me a nod, opening his eyes fully. I went to sleep on my side by Ace since there was no space by Luffy and fell asleep.

We just woke up and Ace started a small fire with a snap of his fingers and I took a seat next to Zoro on the oposite side of my brother as Luffy gets crazy when he eats. I was eating what Sanji made us in these bowls and heard Usopp and Luffy yell. "Seconds! Seconds!"

I grimaced as Sanji kicked them in the face, that had to hurt. Sanji snapped. "Don't be greedy!"

I chuckled as Zoro's food was taken by Luffy and scooted away from them with my back turned. Zoro snapped. "Luffy! What are you-get you hands off over people's food! Mace, control your brother."

I turned my head to grin at him. "Hm? Which one?"

Zoro turned his angry look at me. "You know which one!"

I saw Luffy about to take more from Zoro and Zoro did too, he turned back to yell at him. I snickered and continued eating. I heard Vivi ask why we fought and saw that Nami had an annoyed look on her face. "Just don't make eye contact."

I smirked at that and Vivi said. "Ace is just so calm and orderly, he cleans his fork and plate after each meal."

I scoffed, if only they could meet him when he was 10 or even 13, they would change their minds. It's so funny how he changed over the years. I left my empty plate on the ground and hopped onto the rock Ace was on. "Hey, brother."

He raised an eyebrow. "Hey, yourself, what's up?"

I laughed suddenly and pointed down. "Hey, look at that."

He laughed with me when he saw Zoro pulling at Luffy's face, his rubber powers making them stretch inhumanly. I said. "Imagine if the crew saw how the bandits used to eat."

He snorted. "I know, they make Luffy stealing food look like eating properly."

I jumped back down and sat next to Usopp, who was rubbing his cheek. Zoro and Luffy were still fighting. I shook my head. "Jeez, Zoro, just let it go."

Usopp jumped from next to me. "Agh! Mace, don't do that!"

I waved a hand. "Oh, sorry."

He snapped. "You don't sound sorry at all!"

I laughed it off while Nami hit Zoro and Luffy for fighting. I knew that was going to happen at some point. While Nami scolded them, Luffy shouted. "Wow awesome, floating meat!"

I frowned. "Luffy, there is no such-oh wow, it is floating meat."

I peered closer, only to get smacked on the head by Usopp. "There is no such thing!"

It started talking and moving and I figured it was sombody's doing, like a line or something. Luffy chased after it and I leaned against a rock with my arms crossed over my chest. They would handle it. I looked around and saw Ace disappear. Nami and Usopp walked away too. Why is everyone leaving? With a grumble, I got up and saw Zoro do the same. I asked. "What's everyone up to?"

He shrugged. I looked to see a photo of a man with light brown hair and a beard. He had a plaid black and red flannel shirt on. These two little brown haired kids were on the ground and everyone was crowding them. I leaned on a rock and asked. "What's up?"

Ace said. "I looking for this guy, his name is Scorpion and he defeated Blackbeard."

I almost off the rock. "What?! That guy!?"

The others looked like they agreed with me. I know you shouldn't underestimate people, but come on, this guy? Usopp asked him. "I don't know Ace, do you really think this is the guy who beat up Blackbeard?"

I scratched the back of my neck. "Yeah, I mean, Blackbeard's supposed to be tough, right?"

Ace shrugged. "I'm not sure, the only way is to meet him face to face."

The kid with the lighter brown hair said. "Ace? You don't mean the real...the real Fire Fist Ace!"

I smiled down at them and point a thumb in my older brother's direction. "Yeah, that him."

They looked at me with wide eyed shock. Ace suddened looked up and I stood, hand on the hilt of my sword. Usopp asked what he was doing and Ace said. "There's two, maybe a bird."

Chopper was also looking in that direction and I had to wonder how Ace's senses were so good, Chopper's a animal, but Ace?

Come to think of it, I did hear something. I looked to see that guy from the picture on top of a sand hill riding an ostrich? What the hell? I looked closer and saw that Luffy was riding it behind him, so that's where he wondered off to.

"I come for you, Fire Fist Ace!"

I frowned. "I guess this is the guy." The crew was as confused as I was.

The guy spoke again. "I'm the Scorpion, a true hero. I traveled a great distance to challenge you, I expect a fight fair and square!"

He does know he's talking to a pirate, right? Not that Ace wouldn't, but most pirates wouldn't think about fighting fair. Luffy grinned, showing his face. "Oh goody! I'm glad you're all here!"

They all yelled his name in shock and I waved. "Hey, Luffy!"

He waved back, a wider grin on his face. Nami snapped. "You knew he was there?!"

I raised an eyebrow at her. "You didn't know?"

The rest of them except Ace shouted. "No!"

I shrugged. "Oh."

Sanji snapped. "Why are you riding with the Scorpion, he's the enemy!"

I wouldn't call him that. Ace and the Scorpian stared each other down. The guy sudden started laughing and told Ace that his luck has ran out. I chuckled under my breath and sat against a rock with my legs stretched out, my ankles over one another.

The kids were muttering something and Ace was smirking. Luffy laughed. "Ace, this is a serious fight! Don't go pulling an punches!"

Ace lost his temper. "I wasn't planning too! Before we fight, there is something I want to know."

They charged anyway and Luffy jumped off. I knocked my hat off my head, the string catching at my neck and I leaned forward. He pulled out a gun. "You're finished!" I raised an eyebrow as it shot a net at him. From the clang I heard, it must of been metal. Ace blasted it back with fire and it caught Scorpion, the guy was rolling around, yelling that it was hot.

I facepalmed, that's almost painful to watch. I don't know why the others are shocked. Ace shoulders were flaming and Scorpon got back up after laughing. Ace smirked. "Huh, you got some skills yourself."

"I'm glad you approve, this fight isn't over. Popo! The compressing stick gun!"

I frowned, looking closer, why did that machine look famillar? He strapped it to his back and something like a gun hose was in his hands. "A gun made out of compressed air extingusher foam!"

He fired it and Ace jumped away, behind him. My eyes widened. I muttered. "That looks cool."

Usopp hissed. "Now's not the time!"

It was though, it was fast and it showed by breaking apart the rock. Scorpion turned to hit him again, but Ace ran at him, dodging. He came up to him and punched him in the stomach, making the guy fall. I grimaced, holding my stomach. I knew exactly what a punch from Ace felt like and I pity the person who gets hit by him.

Ace said. "I suspected as much, you lied about beating Blackbeard, didn't you? You figured using his name would draw me out into the open? Am I right?"

The guy tried crawling up. He coughed. "I'd say that first round was a draw, now it's time to get serious."

I frowned, why does this guy want to fight Ace so bad? I know he's made a reputation for himself, so why wouldn't this guy go after smaller fry. He's decent and could get some weaker pirates. Even bounty hunters know when to back off. The darker brown haired kid yelled. "Stop! You can't beat him, father!"

My eyes widened as I looked at the two kids and then the man on the ground. "Huh, they do look alike."

Luffy asked. "Did he say father?"

The kids ran to him. He explained to them why he did it and I grinned when I heard it. For a dream, huh? That's a good reason. He got back up to fight, but he wasn't going to defeat Ace. "As long as I hold on to my dream, I won't back down. Do you hear me, Ace?! Popo, the bazooka!"

He got ready to shoot at Ace, but his kids stopped him. He hugged them, letting go of the weapon. My eyes widened when it shot in the air, destroying a cliff. I got up and my sword was out at the same time Luffy was getting ready to punch them away. I stopped short when Ace ran over. "I got it!"

Ace said with a shout. "Fire Fist!" He burned the rocks away and the others dropped around them. I sheathed my sword and followed Ace and Luffy. Ace asked. "You kids alright?"

I looked them over, they seemed to be fine. They pleaded. "Ace, please don't beat up on our dad anymore!"

Luffy knelt down. "Hey Scorpion, hey you still alive?"

I knelt down too. "I think, he's breathing still."

Scorpion scoffed. "Don't be stupid, of course I'm still alive. You think I'd die and leave my sons behind? Scorpion's not going out that easily-ah!"

His kids hugged him, he's really luckly he was chasing after Ace and not some angry or petty blood thirsty pirate. I smiled, watching them. I kind of makes me miss my dad, well, before he went all pro army on me.

By the time the little family was getting ready to go, it was deep sunset. Ace smirked. "Well then."

Chopper asked. "Your not really going to leave us Ace, are you?"

Ace smiled. "Yep, seeing as Blackbeard isn't in Alabasta, I have no reason to stick around."

Luffy asked. "You sure?"

Sanji asked. "Any idea where you'll be headed next?"

"I have a lead to Blackbeard's wereabouts, Scorpion heard about a man who saw him out west. Guess we'll see. Luffy, Mace."

He tossed us something and I grabbed it. I frowned as I turned what was a small square piece of blank paper in my fingers. Luffy was just as confused. "Do yourselves a favor and hold on to that."

Me and Luffy said. "It's just a scrap of paper."

Ace grinned. "That 'scrap of paper', will reunite us some day. Do you not want it?"

I kept it closer to me, he wouldn't just give us random paper. It could be important, whatever the hell it is. Luffy said. "No, I'll keep it."

I nodded. "Yeah, me too."

Ace grinned wider. "It's only natural for a guy to worry about his bundling kid brothers, right? They might be a bit much for all of you to handle, but take good care of them for me. Luffy, Mace the next time we meet, we'll all be top pirates."

I grinned at that. "Yeah and next time we meet, I'll have a bounty and me and you have to fight, alright? 1 on 1."

He grinned and laughed. "Sounds like a plan."

I smirked, excited for the time I could test my skills against him. Ace always won, I would like to see how I would fair against him, this time. I walked over to him as the kids yelled goodbye. "What does this paper really do?"

He smirked at me and messed up my hair. "You'll have to see, take care."

I heard more shouting and looked to see the kids and their dad leaving. I grinned at them, waving back. I felt heat against my back and turned to see Ace gone. I chuckled and put my hat over my head.

Luffy laughed when he noticed Ace was gone. "We'll see him again."

Nami agreed and I nodded. "Yeah, we will."

I couldn't wait until we had our fight, I wanted to see how strong the three of us would be.

Done! The last part of this chapter made me sad, but oh well. Another chapter done. I started to get in the writing mood again. I really don't know which story I'm going to update next, whatever feel like I'm in the mood for and get inspiration for.
