again i'm sorry its taking so~o long to update this story- along w/ my others. but like I said before i'm NOT giving up on ANY of my stories. but thnx for being patient w/ me & I promise try to get back on schedule for updating for my stories- including my new ones that i'm trying to put together.

2. Second Born Son
~Narrator's Pov~
Maria, who is 9 years old, is watching her baby brother Dean, who is now 4 years old, while her parents are in the hospital where Mary is giving birth to her second son and a new sibling for her other two children.
There is no babysitter this time since Maria scared every potential sitter away because she claims that they're "incompetent" to watch over Dean; so, with a little reluctance from the parents, John and Mary decided Maria can watch over the household and Dean since she shows a great amount of maturity for a nine year old.
"Mimi is mommy and baby okay?" Young Dean asked, his been informed months prior that his going to have a little brother.
"Yea," 'Mimi'- Maria- simply answered.
"Then why does mommy and daddy have to go to the hoz-spit-tal?"
"Because our new baby brother is ready to join us and they need to make sure his healthy."
Lil' Dean brightened up upon hearing that his little brother is going to be finally be here.
"Really?"
"Yup," Maria popped the 'p'.
"How long?" Dean still in hyper excitement.
"Maybe a day or so."
"Oh," Dean didn't really like the idea that he has to wait a little bit longer, but hey he waited nine months he can handle this.
"Don't worry Dean, once you see our baby brother you'll know its worth the wait," Maria affirmed.
So the siblings spend the rest of their night- since Mary went into labor during lunch- with playing, Maria cooking them dinner- but only cold foods since the parents don't really want Maria took cook anything on the stove top or in the oven or microwave, and Maria putting Dean in for bed with promises to him that she'll awaken him when Mom and Dad arrive with their new sibling.
*Time Skip*
Its now morning and Maria haven't slept a wink since she's being waiting up for her parents with the help of caffeine; its when she's helping a still very sleepy Dean getting ready for the day that they got a call from John.
"Hey dad," Maria greeted when she picked up the phone from her end.
"Hey sweetie, how you and your brother doin'," John greeted back on his end from the hospital.
"Just fine and everythin' went smoothly last night without incident, and I just got Dean up and finished gettin' him dressed," the nine year old girl reported.
"Good... that's good... anyway your mom had the baby last night," John reported back.
"That's great," Maria gave a great big smile and twinkling in her eyes.
"Yeah," the father chuckled.
"But anyway the doc says that they're doin' fine and they're restin' now, but all three of us should be home before dinner," the dad announced.
"O.k. see ya soon."
"Yea, love you and tell Dean that we luv him too," told John.
"Luv ya too, bye."
"Bye," John hang up at the same time as his daughter.
That's when Dean sluggishly walked into the room, still trying to wake, and went to sit in the closest kitchen chair.
"That was dad," Dean became slightly alert when he heard that, "he says that our new baby brother is born," Dean became awake with happiness but somehow he still manages to look tired.
"Really? When can see our new baby brother?" he shot off questions in a semi-tired four year old voice.
Maria has a big grin on her face, "yep, and right now mom and baby are resting and the doctors want to keep them there a while longer but all three will be back here before dinner. Oh! And dad told me to tell you that they love you too," Maria relaying what her dad told her.
The siblings morning and noon continued regularly. An hour before their dinner time, John called to let the brother and sister know that the rest of the family is coming home.
After lil' Maria hang up, she went to make another call so she can surprise her family with dinner.
*Time Skip*
Maria and lil' Dean got everything ready before the rest of the family came home.
As they were finishing the last detail, a shout came from the front of the house.
"Maria! Dean! Were home! And we brought your little brother back!" shouted Mary.
"Mommy! Daddy!" the nine and four year olds gave a joyous cry and run to their parents at the front door.
With a lot of practice, John easily scooped up his two older children.
"There's my princess and prince," John said joyously.
"Now we have a little prince," Mary said happily, indicating baby Sam in her arms.
John and the two older kids look to Mary and the baby cradled in her arms.
"Sammy!" Maria and Dean called out happily.
John moved them closer to Mary and the baby. The two older children can see that Sam is tiny; but, Maria mentally noted that Sam is a little bit tinier than Dean when he was a baby.
*Time Skip- Later On In The Night*
The parents were surprised by the surprise dinner by Maria and Dean. Which was eaten whole hardheartedly. After dinner, the siblings coddled Sam 'til their bedtime.
Now, all the residents are asleep- including baby Sammy. Well except for Maria who went through the same motions as the night of Dean's birth: turn off baby monitor, break into nursery, and kidnap baby; but, she also did one extra thing- she kidnapped young Dean as well.
Maria took her brother's to her room. She put Dean on her day bed- near the trundle- then placed baby Sam next to Dean, then she climbed in and snuggled up against them- but not close enough to where either get smothered or roll on to Sam- by wrapping her arms around them in a safe hold.
By morning Mary find's the siblings in the girl's bed, and once again is awed by the scene which made her have the heart not to wake either of the three; and once again she'll let the children sleep in and start on her morning routines.
