*Recap*

"Will Temari of the Sand and Ino Yamanaka please step down for the second match of the preliminary round" Hayate called before coughing.

"Looks like you're up Ino. Good luck" Shikamaru tells her while Choji gave her a thumbs up for luck.

"Thanks guys I'll do my best" Ino said as she moved to the main floor.

"Oh look there Temari you got the girl from your crushes team" Kankuro teased.

"Shut the hell up Kankuro!" Temari yelled as she moved down to the main floor.

Naruko was glaring at Temari. "That's the girl who tried to kiss Shika!" "Ino! Kick her butt!" Naruko cheered rooting for her friend.

Temari glared up at Naruko before grinning. "So these guys are friends huh? Well then allow me to show her who she's messing with and what it means to piss me off."

Hayate cleared his throat. "Are you two ready to begin?" He asked as the wheel began to determine their field of battle.

"Yes!" Ino said excitedly.

"Oh yeah I'm ready" Temari said confidently.

The wheel stopped on the mountain symbol. "Then the second match is about to begin!" Hayate said as they teleported out of the room.

The trio soon appeared on a tall column of stone that over looked valley. Ino shivered as the wind blew against her bare arms, while Temari looked calm and collected.

"This winds here almost remind me of home, but they're not as strong" Temari commented smirking at Ino. "Reminds me of something that isn't as strong around here too."

Ino glared at her. "You better not be talking about me. Taking me lightly isn't a wise idea ya know."

"Oh we'll see about that one blondie. I'm a good sport so I'm going to let you in on a secret. This fight is going to end when I make three moves. So before I make my moves try and entertain me." Temari tells her.

Ino growled and clenched her hands into fist. "Oh well, see about that. I'm going to get you back for the things you said to Shikamaru and Choji when we meet you guys!"

"Oh you talking about chubby and pineapple head? Not my fault your team is so pathetic you got stuck on tour duty. The only good thing that came out of that was getting a somewhat nice date. For a lazy leaf loser that is." Temari remarked casually.

Hayate watched the verbal exchange between the two girls before finally cutting into it. "I see you're both ready for battle *cough* *cough* So if you are ready you may begin."

"Of course, Hayate sensei. You get to move first, little girl." Temari taunted.

"Gladly!" Ino yelled jumping backwards and tossing multiple kunai and shuriken at Temari.

Temari stood still as the weapons headed for her watching as the wind picked up and changed the angle of their projectile pattern completely missing her.

"What?! No way" Ino cried in shock.

"Ha! You should always be mindful of the wind ya know. You never know when it can change from a gentle breeze to a terrifying storm" Temari warned.

"Ya know something I'm really getting tired of that mouth of yours! This fight has only just started and I'm not losing to you!" Ino yelled forgoing long distance attacks and moving in for close combat instead.

"A frontal assault huh? How predictable." Temari said to herself as she opens her fan. "If you want to hit me then you're going to have to catch me!" she yelled hopping on her fan and flying over Ino's head to the next column.

"Why you running away?! Afraid to fight me?" Ino challenged.

"Nah, I just love toying with weak opponents like you before I decimate them." Temari said, "Now are you done trying to hit me because I'm quickly growing bored of this match."

Ino was fighting down a growl as she took a deep breath. "I have to stay calm. She's just egging me on to lose my cool...If I can just get her to stay still for a few seconds I can use my Mind Transfer jutsu on her and win this match" she thought calmly. "Nice try sweetheart, but I'm not falling for you taunts anymore I'm winning this match."

"Big words coming from a big mouth. Do yourself a favor blondie and give up. In the end we both know I'm going to win and you're going to be left broken" Temari declared raising her fan up. "Here try a little bit of what a real wind blast should be! Fūton: Shinkūha (Wind Style: Vacuum Wave Jutsu"

"Hey that's the same jutsu I use!" Naruko yelled fearing for Ino's safety.

"Considering Ino's perched on top of that rocky column and the accumulation of the wind on top of those peaks things don't look so good for her" Kiba remarked.

"Don't say such stupid things! Ino-pig can win this she just has to concentrate better and get the drop on that cocky smart ass" Sakura barked at him before turning back to the screen worried for her best friend.

Shikamaru bit the inside of his cheek not liking this situation in the least. Soon Temari warning from the day at Ichiraku's echoed in his head.

Shikamaru gripped the bar of the balcony tightly in anger. "She's just using Ino as the test dummy to show me what she plans on doing to Blue-Eyes!"

Kankuro was smirking as he watched Temari fight on screen. "Sis isn't looking too bad out there. Sad the little blonde girl couldn't put up a better fight to entertain us with."

Gaara was paying Kankuro no mind as he watched the fight. "She's needs to stop playing and just end the fight already. I'm growing impatient with the lack of blood" he said darkly.

Baki was watching his youngest student with worried eyes. "This is bad. The demon inside Gaara is starting to get restless. We all be killed if the beast was to emerge now."

As Temari released the wind blast from her giant fan Ino braced herself for the powerful wind gust that was slowly slicing at her body. The young Yamanaka's blood stained the brown rocks as she tried to fight through the blast, but the power was too strong and started to send her flying to the edge of the column.

Ino's baby blues widen in absolute horror as she started to plunge over the side of the mountain. At the last minute she grabbed a kunai embedding it into the rock keeping herself from falling into the valley.

Hayate who was charging over to save the young girl from to her death stopped and looked down to her. "Would you like to forfeit the match?" he asked so he could help her back to safety.

"NO! I can still fight, don't end this match until I can't fight anymore. You hear me you little wind witch I'm not finished until I kick your ass!" Ino yelled pulling out another Kunai to climb back on top of the rock moment were Hayate stood.

Temari grip on her fan tightened in anger. "Is that so? Then get ready because I'm about to tear you to shreds! Daikamaitachi no Jutsu! (Cyclone Scythe Jutsu)" she yelled flying back over to Ino and releasing sharp blades of the wind the cut deep into Ino's clothes and body.

As the wind blade carved into the young girls body spilling her blood on the ground a blade cut through her hairband and sliced off chunks of her long hair. Like her blood the shiny blond locks scattered around her wounded body as she lay on the ground beaten and bloody.

Temari standing back admired her work feeling proud of herself. "Sensei I call the match now if I was you. My next attack may end up killing her if you don't."

Hayate coughed not liking how this match played out, but he knew the match had to stop before Ino did end up dying. "The winner of this match is...

"Wa...wait!" Ino croaked out hoarsely trying to force her slashed body to move. "I'm...I'm not done..."

Temari started laughing. "Are you serious?! Look at you I've literally sliced you into ribbons! Sensei end this match or I'll end this fool's life here and now!"

Though her body was screaming in agony Ino was able to let a smirk appear on her face. "Look down" she coughed as she moved her hands into a familiar symbol.

"What?" Temari said before looking down at her feet to see they were entangled by Ino's blonde hair she just hacked up. "What?! What is this?!" she yelled trying to move her feet, but couldn't.

"It's a trap I made out of my hair...You're caught inside it now so you're ease prey... Shintenshin no Jutsu (Ninja Art: Mind Transfer Jutsu)" Ino stuttered out as her vision began to blur as her hands began to shake from blood lost.

Temari looked up a little panic knowing she was caught, but when nothing happened to her and Ino was slumped over on the ground she didn't understand what had happened up she heard Hayate clear his throat.

"The winner of the second match is Temari of the sand on the account Ino Yamanaka can no longer fight" Hayate announced as he walked over to gather up Ino's prone body waiting for the girl's mind to return to her body.

After a few minutes Ino gasped in shock and was shaking, but she remained unconscious due to chakra depletion and blood lost. When Hayate was sure the girl was okay he transported all of them back to the main room.

"What the hell happened?! Ino had her with her mind transfer Jutsu!" Sakura yelled.

Kurenai put a soothing hand on her upset student's shoulder. "Ino did good to ensnare her opponent with her hair, but sadly the damage was already done Sakura" she says gently.

"What do you mean Kurenai sensei?" TenTen asked.

"Kurenai-sensei is referring to the amount of blood Ino-chan lost in that last attack. Coupled with the amount of chakra Ino-chan had to summon to form her hair trap caused her to lose her focus. With her focus gone Ino-chan miss fired her mind transfer jutsu leaving herself opened for an attack" Hinata explained softly.

"If Hayate-sensei didn't call the match off when he did the sand girl would have finished Ino off without a second thought" Sasuke finished off.

Naruko's eyes were narrowed into slits as she glared at Temari when she appeared back in the room. Temari's teal colored eyes meet her glare and seem to sparkle with enjoyment as she gave the furious blonde a cocky grin as she started to march off back to her brothers with a proud step in her walk.

"Hold it!" Naruko yelled jumping down to the main floor. "What the hell were you doing out there?! You almost killed Ino twice and you didn't even care! Do you have any respect for your opponents, you heartless witch?!" she demanded

Temari looked at her from her shoulder. "Why should I care about the weak? It wasn't my fault blondie lost to the better woman. And trust me I am the better woman."

Naruko looked ready to charge but was held back by Shikamaru. "Like hell you are. I don't know what your problem is, but if you go after my teammate or threaten Naruko again, you won't live to regret it."

Temari eyes narrowed as she stared into the Nara boy's narrowed brown eyes. "We'll have to see about that one now won't we Pineapple head" she hissed as she turned on her heels and stomped back towards her brothers and sensei.

Naruko turned as best as she could in Shikamaru's arms to see his face and was surprised by how angry he looked. Naruko could only ever recall Shikamaru's having that hate filled and angry look in his eyes when she was being bad mouthed by the villagers or when Mitsuki tried to kill her.

Shikamaru could feel Naruko's eyes on him so he took a calming breath before looking down at her. "Man what a drag it is to watch you sometimes. Getting ready to attack someone is a good way to get disqualified. Ino wouldn't want you getting kicked out of the exam that way."

"Yea, but she was asking for it. I haven't forgiven for what she did and I sure as hell am not about to forgive her for this" Naruko growled as watched Ino get stretched out by the medical staff.

"I know, but that's a time and place for another time. Now come back up to the others so the troublesome third match can be announced" he said pulling Naruko back over to their waiting area.

"Looks like you're friend over there has a bit of a temper" Karui teased looking over at the worried Omoi.

"If the spiky haired one didn't intervene when he did she would have been disqualified" Samui said.

Omoi sighed as he popped a sucker in his mouth and massaged his head. "Well, I can't blame sunny for blowing her top like that. Her friend was and is in a bad shape. At least she didn't lose her cool completely and go on a murderous revenge seeking rampage."

"Hehe the nine tails little brat seems to be coping well with my little seal still activated on her. That spike of her chakra sure was a surprise, but the look in the Nara boy eyes was even more surprising." Orochimaru thought humorlessly before looking back to the board as the next match was announced. "And now I get the chance to watch the match I've been waiting for."

"*Cough* *Cough* Now then, let us continue on to the third match." Hayate announced, "Sasuke Uchiha and TenTen, please report to the arena so we may continue."

"Wooooo TenTen you are so lucky! You are fighting my heated rival Sasuke-kun, but do not worry the power of youth is with you!" Rock Lee cheered.

TenTen sighed as she watched Rock Lee do his youthful chant. "Thanks Lee I'll do my best" she said looking over to Sasuke. "So I'm going against the Rookie of the year when I have last year's rookie of the year on my team. This fight should be interesting."

"Hey teme you're up and you better not lose and make Hinata and I look bad" Naruko said standing back with her team.

"You mean like how you did by jumping in head first like you always do and almost attacking someone who isn't you opponent?" Sasuke shot back at her.

Naruko puffed up her cheeks and turned away from him in both anger and embarrassment because he was right...again.

Hinata saw Sasuke tensing up in pain again as he made his move to the main floor. Hinata grabbed his arm to stop him before he left and became embarrassed at her rash action. Fiddling with her fingers. "Sa..Sasuke-kun be careful..."

Sasuke looked back her and nodded. "I will. Don't worry about me I can handle myself" he said moving away from her but was stopped by Kakashi this time.

"Don't use you're Sharingan in this match. Gai's team is strong, but you're in no condition to use it. If you are to lose control in your match you could lose your life and it that were to happen the match will be stopped" Kakashi warned him.

"What?!" Sasuke thought looking back at him clutching his shoulder as he growled and walked off. "So my Sharingan and jutsu are off the table, but I won't lose. I'm not going to let this curse take over me again."

Hayate watched as TenTen and Sasuke stood apart from each other gauging each other. Clearing his throat the pale man signaled for the wheel to begin spinning. Soon the symbol of the leaf was a light meaning it was a fight in the forest. "Alright here we go."

"So let's see how Sasuke-kun can handle Lord Orochimaru's curse mark." Kabuto thought watching Sasuke with calculating eyes.

Hinata gripped her hands tightly together. "Please be okay Sasuke-kun. Don't let the curse control you."

Hayate was left standing alone in the forest clearing as he watched both TenTen and Sasuke take cover inside the trees. "Well, at least they know how to use the surroundings. A fight between the students of Kakashi and Gai interesting."

"Sasuke Uchiha is not the kind of opponent I can predict. I'll have to judge each one of my attacks accurately and catch him off guard" TenTen thought planning out her moves.

Sasuke was standing above TenTen's hiding spot having tracked her movements when she separated from her. Though he could not use his Sharingan to track her movements perfectly he was able to keep up with her.

The young Uchiha watched as TenTen started to lay out a trap by tossing multiple kunai out to different trees within her range. "What is she planning?"

"There I've setup the parameter now I just have to wait for him to come to me" TenTen thought.

Sasuke looked at each kunai and noticed the little glint that shone around the end of each weapon. "Is she trying to catch me in a net? That's pathetic" he thought taking out four shuriken and tossing them at the area TenTen had enclosed cutting up the thin wires.

When TenTen watched the shurikens cut through her trap she smirked. "Got you."

When the wires were cut they sparked and the trees and the ones surrounding them all burst into flames. Sasuke eyes widen in surprise as he jumped out of the way of the bursting inferno that was slowly engulfing the forest.

Hayate seeing the blazing fire ignite suddenly began to jump out of the way as the fire was coming towards the area he stood. "Are these kids insane?! Well considering who their sensei's are I should have expected this. Man why did I get stuck with this job?" he thought jumping to high ground as he broke out into a coughing fit.

Sasuke was out of reach of the fire. "Is she crazy?! She could have killed us both!" he yelled coughing a bit from the smoke inhalation.

"Or maybe I just wanted to draw you out of hiding!" TenTen yelled jumping out of the smoke with a mask on and her baton staff raised high as she swung and nailed Sasuke in his lower abdomen.

Sasuke gasped as the blow knocked a little wind out of him, TenTen keeping with her momentum spun her staff and hit him in the upper chest before striking him in the face and sending him flying.

Sasuke back flipped in midair catching himself on a tree as TenTen stood posed on top of a cliff ledge. Looking behind himself he saw Hayate putting out the forest fire.

"Is that all you got, Rookie of the year? I thought I get more out of you?" TenTen teased spinning her baton staff.

Sasuke wiped the blood from his split lip and glared up at the girl as he felt the pulling of the curse mark. Gasping in pain he felt the mark taking over him again as it crawled from his neck.

"The mark is activating again!" Hinata thought watching the black marks crawl over her teammate's skin. An image of Sasuke almost ripping the sound ninjas arms off. "Please fight it Sasuke-kun" she thought feeling dread fill her heart.

Shikamaru was watching the fight with narrowed eyes, "You're move Uchiha what are you going to do?" he thought glancing over to Naruko and Hinata

"The boy has no choice but to use the power of my curse mark. It's eating away at his defenses hehe soon he'll lose control" Orochimaru thought fondly.

"Yo Bushy-Brow your teammate is crazy! She could have torched the whole forest down!" Naruko tells the grinning and jumping youth.

"Wooo yes TenTen let the powers of your youth shine through! You can do this! Let's go TenTen Wooohoooo!" Lee cheered.

Gai turned to Kakashi. "The curse is activating what are you going to do?"

Kakashi sighed as he turned back to him. "I see if he can control it and if he can't...I'll stop him before it kills him" he tells him before turning back to watch Sasuke. "Is this the end Sasuke?"

Sasuke was coughing up blood as he felt the curse snake up his neck and face burning him with its touch. "It's taking over...Ugh..." he thought trying to fight the control.

"Please...Please be careful" Hinata's voice echoed in his head.

"Yo teme! You better not lose and make Hinata and I look bad!" Naruko's voice joining with Hinata's.

"Heh I have them worrying about me...What a joke" Sasuke thought pathetically closing his eyes from the pain.

"If Naruko or Hinata get hurt because you can't handle that power you got you won't have to worry about getting you revenge on you brother because I will end you before you get the chance" echoed the warning of Shikamaru.

Sasuke's eyes snapped open in fury. "Shut up! I will protect them on my own! I will not lose to this and be controlled by it!"

TenTen eyes widen as she saw the change in Sasuke's eyes and watched the marks retreat from his face. She went on guard as Sasuke disappeared from her line of sight. "What? Were he go?"

Sasuke appeared behind TenTen and hit her with a swift jab to the stomach knocking her back a few feet. TenTen braced herself on the ground as she flipped back onto her feet to face Sasuke directly.

"You may have caught me with that little fire, but I'm not losing here. I have people to face and things to achieve. Thank you for being the first one I face to step towards that goal" Sasuke said as he charged in at TenTen and knocked her in the chest to unbalance her before he kicked her in the chin to send her flying into the sky.

TenTen coughed as she was sent flying, but she refused to go done that easily and reached for her back pouch to get a scroll. As her fingers touched the scroll Sasuke was behind her knocking her hand away and delivered a devastating roundhouse kick to her stomach sending her back down to the earth.

TenTen hit the ground followed by Sasuke who had no more strength left to stay up. TenTen couldn't get up, but Sasuke was able to get back to his knees.

Hayate appeared before the two fighters and checked on TenTen and found her to be completely out. Coughing Hayate stood back up. "The winner of the third match Sasuke Uchiha."

"Alright! The Teme pulled through Hina-chan!" Naruko cheered wrapping her blue haired friend into a tight hug and began to dance with her.

"T..that's great" Hinata said happily really glad Sasuke won and that he didn't give in to the curse mark.

"Ohhh poor TenTen. She fought so hard and her fight was so good" Lee said feeling down.

Gai placed a hand on his back. "TenTen fought honorably and gave it her all. Don't worry you can avenge her lost by winning your match in her honor" he tells her giving him the thumbs up shining smile.

"I will Gai-Sensei!" Lee promised.

"These years rookies are actually looking like they might be a bit of a challenge" Neji thought as he watched Sasuke and TenTen come back into the main room. His gaze soon turned to Hinata and his gaze harden.

Medics came in to take TenTen away and Sasuke was left trying to get back to his feet, but as he was falling back Kakashi appeared behind him keeping him from hitting the ground.

"You did good Sasuke" Kakashi tells him. "Come with me I'm going to seal up you're curse mark" he whispered in the young Uchiha's ear.

Orochimaru was trembling in excitement as he licked his lips from excitement. "He truly is the one I needed. Sasuke Uchiha..."

Dosu and Kabuto where watching the change in their master as he began to slink off into the shadows.

"So he's going to make his move. Well, done Sasuke-kun I didn't think you would be able to fight the curse mark" Kabuto thought watching Kakashi leading Sasuke away. "Guess I'm not needed here anymore..."

Gaara was tensing up getting an excited look in his eye which made Kankuro and Temari nervous.

"This isn't good. He's starting to lose it again" Kankuro thought worriedly.

"Alright we are ready to announce the fourth match *cough*" Hayate said as the screen lit up and the names began rolling. Soon the name wheel stopped with the new pair of fighters. "Will Choji Akimichi and Karui please step forward!"

"Oh, boy! I'm up next!" Choji said excitedly handing Shikamaru his bag of chips, "Hold onto these will ya' buddy?"

"Sure thing buddy, and be careful. It's only the two of us now and I'd like it more than anything to see you come out on top." Shikamaru said.

"You can count on me." Choji said going down to the arena.

"You're up next, Karui." Samui told her teammate, "Be sure to watch your opponent's moves carefully."

"I'll keep that in mind." Karui said.

"And don't act recklessly now like you always do." Omoi said.

"This is a Chunin Exam battle. It's no place for recklessness." Karui said walking down to the battle arena to face Choji. The two Genin ninja stare at each other with darted eyes as the air around them shifted...that was until Choji decided to break the silence.

"I know that we're about to fight and everything, but I'd rather not have out battle be as brutal as Ino's." Choji said.

"Ah, the noble type of boy. If you're worried that you might end up like your friend then don't. I hold no grudge against you." Karui said, "If you don't mind me asking, what is your name?"

"Choji Akimichi." Choji said with a grin.

"Akimichi huh? I've heard about your family jutsu so I'm interesting on how this fight will be. I'm Karui by the way" Karui tells him extending her hand to him. "Let's have a clean fight.

Choji takes her hand in a gentle shake. "That's a nice name you have, Karui. Let's make this battle the best one these people have seen." he said smiling at her

"Will do, Choji." Karui said turning to Hayate, "We're ready, Hayate-sensei."

Hayate nodded and signal for the wheel to spin in order to determine their next destination. The wheel spun before landing on the mountain symbol again. "Alright the battle will take place back at the mountains *cough* *cough* let us go" he said as the trio were taken away from the arena.

Choji and Karui stood inside a dark cave that constantly dripped small amounts of water.

"Wait...is this even the mountains?" Karui asked.

"It is. This is *Cough* a cave hidden within the mountain." Hayate explained, "Here, you can use the darkness to your advantage. Are you both ready?" He asked as the two Genin nods in response, "Then...BEGIN!" He shouted.

Immediately, Choji and Karui jumped into the darkest areas of the cave.

"I sure hope Choji's troublesome stomach doesn't start growling here…" Shikamaru said, "Anyone could hear it from a mile away."

"You worry about the kid too much, Shikamaru. I'm sure Choji will pull through." Asuma said puffing out a cloud of smoke.

"I hope you're right, sensei." Shikamaru replied.

All Karui could see was pitch darkness so she had to rely on her hearing abilities. "I picked a bad time to not take Sensory Jutsu lessons…" She said in her head. That was when she hears something behind her and immediately throws kunais in the general direction assuming that it was Choji; however, what she just hit was just a black snake. A mistake she soon regretted when she heard another sound from behind her.

"Konoha-Ryū Taijutsu: Nikudan Sensha (Tree Leaf-Style Body Technique: Human Bullet Tank)" She heard Choji call out as she turns around to see a massive Choji rolling straight towards her in a human sized ball. Reacting quickly, Karui manages to jump out of the way and sees Choji turning around to hit her again.

Taking out her sword, Karui blocks the upcoming attack trying to stop Choji in his tracks, but that was what Choji wanted her to do.

"Bubun Baika no Jutsu (Partial Expansion Jutsu)!" Choji's two arms grew massive and he takes the chance to grab hold of Karui before she could react. Spinning around in a circle, Choji threw Karui as hard as he could into several rock pillars.

Karui stood back up, but she felt very dizzy from being spun around by Choji.

"Now's my chance." Choji said, "Bubun Baika no Jutsu (Partial Expansion Jutsu)!" He then turns himself into a human shaped ball again to begin spinning like a ball, "Konoha-Ryū Taijutsu: Nikudan Sensha (Tree Leaf-Style Body Technique: Human Bullet Tank)"

Karui regains her composure and grew a more serious face while clenching her sword's handle, "Kumo-Ryū Omotegiri (Cloud Style: Front Slice)!" Karui shouted waiting for the right moment to slice against Choji's attack causing the Akimichi to spin out of control hitting several of the rock pillars.

As Choji slowly stood back on his two feet, he returns to his normal form and chuckles a little, "Man...you're so strong…" He said.

"And what gave you that idea?" Karui asked in a fun sarcastic tone. "You sure were able to sneak up on me. I thought your stomach would give you away."

Choji blushes hearing his stomach growl loudly, "Yeah...worst time to be so hungry."

"Then how about I treat you to dinner after this is over. It's the least I could do for putting up such a decent fight." Karui said.

"Really, it's a sure deal! Thanks." Choji said.

"Hey Omoi, do you see a change in the area in which Karui is fighting?" Samui asked.

"Yeah, I do, but I'm not sure what it…" That was when Omoi's eyes widen, "Oh no…"

"What is it?" Omoi asked.

"We have to get those three out of there now!" Omoi shouted.

"Now get ready, Karui," Choji said, "Because we're at the big finale! Bubun Baika no Jutsu (Partial Expansion Jutsu)!" Choji's two arms grew gigantic once again and he rushes at Karui ready to hit her with the heavy attack.

"I agree! Time to see who will come out on top here!" Karui said sheathing her sword and rushing at Choji with her own fist, "My fists against yours! Let's do it!" She shouted as both Genin's strongest punch connected with each other causing the earth around them to rumble. Both sides pushed against the other's punch with the will and desire to win.

As the two Genin continue their brawl, Hayate looks around and sees small rocks falling from the ceiling. He could already tell that something bad was about to happen, "Damn...those two will-" He was cut off when he saw that Choji won the duel pushing Karui into a wall causing her to cough out blood.

"Damn it…" Karui cursed holding onto her abdomen.

"Give up, yet?" Choji asked ready for more.

"Not a chance...you'll have to knock me out in order to-" She was cut off when she saw something behind Choji. "Choji! Look out!" She screamed as she punches and destroys a huge boulder that was about to crush Choji.

"What the...what's going on here?!" Choji asked looking around at the collapsing cave as his huge hands return to normal.

"Choji, Karui, your battle has caused this area to become highly unstable. We must return back and finish the battle at a safer location." Hayate spoke, "Hurry!"

"Right, Hayate-sensei." Karui said, but just as she took a step forward, Hayate and Choji saw a much larger bolder about to fall on top of her.

"Karui! Watch out!" Hayate shouted.

"Damn! Can't use Bubun Baika no Jutsu (Partial Expansion Jutsu) in time!" Choji shouted in his mind having no choice but to do one option. He pushes Karui out of the way allowing himself to be crushed by the boulder.

"CHOJI!" Karui screamed as she punches the boulder to break it. She pulls an unconscious Choji out of the rubble as Hayate rushes over to the two.

"Now, let's get out of here." Hayate said as the trio disappeared from the collapsing cave back into the arena.

"CHOJI!" Naruko and Shikamaru shouted jumping down from the audience stands rushing to their dear friend.

"Stay back you two!" Hayate commanded stopping the two so he could check up on Choji.

"Ch-Choji…" Karui said.

"Ow…" A wince was heard making Kauri's eyes widen in shock of seeing that Choji was awake.

"Choji!" Karui shouted hugging the boy tightly feeling relief that the Akimichi boy was alive.

"Ouch...K-Karui...not so tight!" Choji shouted.

"Dammit, Choji! Don't scare me like that ever again!" Naruko screamed also hugging Choji.

"Geez that was a troublesome move you pulled, Choji...but it was a bold one at that." Shikamaru said.

"Yeah...I guess we won't be able to finish our battle, huh Karui?" Choji said.

"Wait, what do you mean?" Karui asked.

"I am afraid Choji is right." Hayate said, "*Cough* When Choji saved you from that boulder, his leg bones were crushed."

"Wh-What…?" Karui asked in shock.

"Then that means you win, Karui. Congratulations." Choji said.

"No...It was an accident. I didn't want to win this way. It wasn't your fault that you lost, Choji." Karui argued.

"But it was my choice to sacrifice my legs to save you, Karui. You're my friend after all." Choji said.

"...But...we only just met." Karui said.

"And…?" Choji asked, "So what if this is our first time meeting each other? We learned each other's skills and made the match worth a watch or two." He said with a smile which brings a warm relief in Kauri's heart.

"Alright, if that's the case for you, then I guess I win the match, is that right Hayate-sensei?" Karui asked.

"*Cough* That is correct. The winner of this match is Karui of Team Samui." Hayate announced.

Karui turns back to Choji, "Don't think that your heroic action got you out of this yet. We will have our battle again."

"Sure, it's a promise." Choji said raising his hand allowing Karui to hold on to it and shake it.

Soon, the medical ninja arrive to place Choji on a stretcher.

"Now you get your rest now, Choji, understand?" Naruko asked.

"Sure thing, Naruko...so um...can you tell Shikamaru to hand me back my chips, please?" Choji asked.

Naruko shook her head, "Not a chance, Choji. I told Shikamaru not to give you your chips after your battle whether you won it or not. You need to focus on recovering instead of piling yourself in an endless pile of chips."

Choji's eyes widen in shock, "What?! But-"

"No buts! Until your legs are fully recovered and you're standing on your two feet, you only need to eat fruits and vegetables." Naruko said.

"But my body won't be able to function properly without chips! Please Naruko!" Choji pleaded with tears falling from his eyes.

"Your body will end up unable to move if you don't get the right nutrients! Salt and fat will only slow down your recovery." Naruko said turning to the medics, "Please make sure my friend is eating the right kinds of food, gentlemen."

"Of course." the medics said as they began to carry Choji away.

Just as they pass Karui, she manages to slip something in Choji's pocket while whispering, "You didn't get this from me."

"Huh?" Choji asked but Karui was already returning to the audience stands. Choji looks into his pocket and sees a small bag of chips. Smiling happily, Choji turns back to Karui wanting to thank her one day.

"That was a pretty interesting battle you had, Karui." Samui said.

"Yeah it was...it was a shame that the winner wasn't decided fair and square…" Karui said with a smile tone of regret.

"You feel sorry for that boy, don't you?" Omoi asked as Karui nods not even denying it.

"It wasn't your fault that things happened the way that they did." Samui said, "Hayate did not account for the sheer strength you two possessed and that cave you fought in wasn't entirely stable to begin with."

"Yeah...that must be what happened." Karui said. "But Choji shouldn't have done that…not for me at least..."

"He probably did it because he cared about you." Omoi said chuckling a little when he saw a small hit of pink on Kauri's cheeks.

"W-well...he simply couldn't let a fellow shinobi die in a cave. It was his instincts that were telling him to save me." Karui said.

"Yep, that's about what a guy would say when explaining why he saved a girl he liked...or maybe it's how a girl would explain why a guy she likes would save her, am I right?" Omoi asked with an amused laugh.

Karui has had enough of the embarrassment and decked the guy in the stomach, "Sh-shut up! I don't know what on earth you are talking about, but it doesn't matter to me. Choji saved me and I thanked him. That's it!"

"So...what about that bag of chips you were able to slip to him?" Samui asked seeing the look of full embarrassment planted on Kauri's face.

"...A...um...thank you gift…" Karui whispered.

"Is that so?" Omoi said about to say something.

"One more snarky comment out of you and I will knock you into next year!" Karui threatened as she ignored her annoying teammate.

"Understood" Omoi squeaked out afraid to be hit again.

"We will now move on to the fifth match *cough* *cough*" Hayate announced as the monitor began to spin again.

"Oh please let me be next! I need to get some energy out already! I can't stake standing around like this!" Kiba growled angry that Choji was able to put up a better fight with the Cloud ninja girl then he did.

"Rah Rah!" Akamaru barked agreeing with his master.

"Be patient you too you're time will come" Sakura tells them patting Akamaru's head to calm the white puppy down.

"Please let me be next! It has to be me!" Lee yelled wanting his chance.

Zaku was growing impatient as he glared at the side where the leaf ninja stood. "Don't they ever shut the hell up? I'm tired of hearing their mouths!"

"Give it a rest Zaku. You're only upset you didn't get paired off with Sasuke Uchiha" Ken said tired of Zaku's bitching.

"Shut the hell up Ken! I'm so tired of your bullshit!" Zaku yelled at her ready to rip her head off.

"Make me you dumbass!" Ken yelled back.

"Both of you shut the hell up! The next match has been picked already" Dosu yelled at his teammates silencing them quickly.

Everyone looked up to the screen to see who was picked. Some were excited about the matchup while others were disappointed.

"Well this just got interesting..." Kabuto said pushing up his glasses.

Lazyfox: And done~ Woo that was fun to write and before anyone grills me I feel horrible for what I did to Ino. Also I thank Jurabi again for his help in this chapter. He wrote the fight between Choji and Karui and it was beautiful TwT

Magic: Holy hell that match was so intense! TenTen actually looked awesome for a moment and OMG Choji! How could you hurt Choji!

Lazyfox: I didn't! It was him and the demon frog from hell! *points to the demon frog and Jurabi*

Jurabi: Hey, give me some credit. I at least dialed down all of my...sadistic writing skills. I could have easily had an elephant pop out of nowhere and pull his head off.

Lazyfox: NO! No Elephants! *hears the croaking* AND NO DEMON FROGS!

Jurabi: Yay! Froggy!

Lazyfox: *Glaring hot fire at them both*

Demon Frog: *Stares at Lazyfox* *Croak* I am always there to be the pain in your arse *Croak* ...Always...

Jurabi: Best Frog 10 out of 10. XD

Lazyfox: *eyes twitches* Next time I catch you Froggy you going to die...

Jurabi: But you said you only kill bugs and snakes.

Lazyfox: I think I'm going to change my MO then.

Magic: I feel like I'm missing something here? *pets Chibi Obito's head*
