One Hundred Years Later. . .

Jasper's POV

I can't believe all of the changes that have taken place since the Volturi were destroyed. Today is the day we as vampires take time to celebrate our independence from those tyrants. They were monsters and it was deemed a good thing that we took them down.

Things are very different in the vampire world now. We have to be even more careful that the humans don't find out about us. They have weapons that could kill us now and because of this we took a few years to discuss whether we should expose ourselves and try to live in peace. We decided to go a different route.

It is now against vampire law to create another vampire. There is only one exception to the rule and it has to come before the committee first. With Marcus' gift it makes it easier to know the truth. Although we have had others turned for reasons other than the main one.

If a vampire finds their mate in a human then they bring them to us and if they are indeed mates then we allow them to turn the human. They do have to stay here until they are out of their newborn stage and if the human is female and they want to have a child we also allow them to do that.

They have to stay in one of the small villages that we created just for this reason. There they find others who are either trying to make a baby or already have. We give them the option of how many children they have, but the female is made to be turned at age thirty.

If they still don't have children then we allow them to adopt, but the female has to be turned with no exceptions. They can stay here as long as they want or not at all if they so choose once the female is out of their newborn stage.

If Marcus sees that they aren't mates then we question them. There have been a few times that we allow them to stay together, like if the love is real but again they stay in our village. The human is not made to be turned and in fact is not allowed to be turned. We learned the hard way not to do that. We had a mess on our hands that took months to clean up.

We had one male vampire that just fell in love and we allowed him to turn her. A decade later he found his mate in another female vampire. He refused to stay with her and she went ballistic, killin' everything in sight which was a few dozen humans and then killed the mate. We ended up of course killing her and then the male as he didn't want to live without his mate.

Unfortunately the news media caught wind of the major slaughter and were there with cameras to show the whole world. Like I said it took a couple of months to get that one cleaned up. So now we don't allow the turning unless they are true mates.

Over the years we've had our ups and downs. More ups though, but the downs would override the ups at times. Shortly after little Adara had killed Aro and Caius we were afraid of how it would affect her. We were surprised that the only real affect was that she became a little afraid of her gift.

It wasn't even that she was afraid of her gift so much as that she was afraid of becoming power hungry like Aro. I told her that being afraid of doing that meant that she would never become like that. She was too aware of what that kind of power can do. She did become more assertive in her personality though.

The lil' ladies, they all met their mates in vampires. Kal and Avyanna both have had several children. Since they don't need to be turned to live forever they have three or four kids and then wait until they are grown. Then they have another three or four. Both girls have had twins at least once. Although when they first met their mates I got so bad that they almost disowned me.

I refused to allow them to be alone with the males and would growl at them if they even looked at them with anything other than love. Of course when a male meets his mate all he wants to do is claim them. I know this from experience so I would hover and growl if the males got too close.

It took Kal to make me realize that there was nothing wrong except for my actions. She said that if I didn't pull back on the over protectiveness she would walk out and leave the family. I didn't want to lose any of my family so I did as she asked and actually found that I truly liked her mate.

Both her and Avyanna were married shortly after I made peace with their mates. It made me proud that they did hold back on lettin' the guys claim them until after the wedding. I know that I didn't hold back, but as a father the thought of my daughters being claimed just didn't sit right. So call me hypocritical!

The boys were a different story altogether. I had raised them to respect the females no matter what and they took it to heart. The need to claim was still there, but not as strongly as a full vampire would have been. It was easy for them to hold off, but that didn't mean they didn't play around.

Yeah I caught Rhett a few times with the girl that was his mate. She was a pretty lil' thing, long blonde hair and brown eyes. It was embarrassing for the girl to have her boyfriends father catch them in compromising positions, but it kept them from going any further.

Donahue was a totally different story. His mate was also beautiful, but although he was the quiet one once he knew who his mate was he claimed her. She was human and when he knew that she was his mate he had all of us sit down with the girl and explain our lifestyle to her and what we are.

She had black hair with blue eyes and was a cute thing. He had proposed to her and then brought her home to be told the truth about his family. At first she was fearful until he reminded her that she has been around us for months and never got hurt.

She still had her parents around and so we had to play human for awhile longer. When she turned twenty-five her husband, my son, bit her and started her transformation. They had five children almost one for each year of their marriage. She almost died with the last one and so that was the reason for her being turned. She would have if not for her husband's venom changing her.

That was one of the downs. The other came in the form of lil' Adara. For some reason her body apparently was more vampire than human. When she was the equivalent of eighteen and still hadn't started her periods Carlisle ran some tests and found out she had no viable eggs. All the parts were there, but they were all frozen. She would never be able to get pregnant or carry a child.

She had found her mate, a very gentle vampire. They were married a couple of months after meeting. We were all there when she got the news and she was surrounded by love. It helped, but whenever she looked at one of the other children or saw her mother or I playing with one of them I could feel the pain flowing off of her in huge waves.

She did eventually become a mother but not to her own children. No there were a few human females that didn't make it through the birth and their mates wanted nothing to do with the babies they felt were responsible for the death of their mates.

So Adara and her husband Jonathan took it upon themselves to raise these four babies as their own. As the years went by they were able to take on even more and so far have raised twenty-seven children. They haven't stopped or slowed down either.

I also have been able to watch as our sons and daughters helped to form the new government for the vampire world. Rhett, Donahue, Kal, Avyanna and Adara make up part of the committee that makes the laws and helps to enforce them. They work along side of Marcus, Carlisle and various vampires from around the world.

Bia is one of the actual guard members and Tori is as well. While the vampire world is no longer ruled by fear, as it was with Aro and Caius, we still destroy the vampires that either break the laws or cause too much trouble. It works for us and the best part is, my mate and I get to stay here in Texas.

We do have to travel as we have to check on each group that is here in America. We have vampires that we trust to overlook different parts of the whole world, but Bella and I are in charge of making sure that those smaller groups are doing their jobs here in America.

The main ruling council also stays here in Texas. The kids wanted to stay close enough to visit and let us spend time with our grand kids, but they also didn't want to be too close to me. I still have a problem with my daughters and their sex lives. Then again they have problems with me and their mother being together as neither of us can stay quiet.

As far as they are concerned we didn't have sex to make them. A stork dropped them all at our place. The thought of their mom and I doing the very thing that creates babies is just so gross according to them.

Oh and Renee and Felix, well let's just say that someone should probably explain to them how babies are made. They now have ten kids. Carlisle did try to do surgery on Renee to keep her from getting pregnant, but her body repaired itself apparently and she keeps having babies.

Carlisle is going to try removing her uterus completely at some point in the future. Right now she says she enjoys having the kids around and wants a few more before stopping.

Bella I know sometimes wishes she could still have babies. I've seen the way she looks at the grand kids or her siblings, the longing in her eyes tells me she wants more kids, but it only lasts a few minutes before she's laughing and playing with some of the kids no matter who they belong to.

Of course she visits the towns we created to keep the hybrids in. We can't allow the hybrids to live among humans as its too risky. If they were to get hurt or be in an accident they could be exposed as not being human. They can be hurt and if they were taken to a hospital they would probably never be allowed to leave as their wounds would heal exceptionally fast and there is venom in their veins.

I'm just fucking glad that we were able to know that those two vampires that wanted to join us were spies. Unfortunately for them they didn't know that Edward could read minds. We decided not to tell anyone who didn't know about us already, anything about our gifts.

Because of having them join us we were able to feed Aro only what we wanted him to know. He knew nothing about the gifts of the kids. He knew of most of our plans, but obviously knew nothing about what our real plans were. We wanted him to think he had the upper hand until we had all of the kids where we needed them to be.

Our plans worked exactly as they were supposed to with one exception. I wasn't supposed to have my hand or my legs ripped off. But it was worth it to see justice done against those who started the fucking experiments. Although I must admit that there is one experiment I'm so fucking glad they did. My beautiful wife and mate was the end results.

I fully intend to show her this evening after the kids have all gone home just how much she means to me. I tried to show her earlier, but some of the grand kids couldn't wait to see us and came over early.

I did manage to get her alone and in the bathroom to have a quick fuck, but then someone had to use it. Kal's little girl Amy had to go and knocked. When we came out she giggled and told us that she was telling her mama that she caught us in the bathroom.

Unfortunately, being vampires meant we didn't need to use the restroom, so when we were caught in there it was pretty obvious what we were really up to. I didn't care, not really. I fucking loved my mate and I wanted everyone to know it. The best part, I have the rest of eternity to show her. . .
