Carlisle's POV:
A lot has changed in these past two years. Edward now goes to a professional performance school all the way in Port Angeles. I transferred to a hospital there so I can bring him and Bella to school. We just have to leave at six o' in the morning. Edward is a very strong pianist and nothing is getting in his way. He has an important audition for a part in a show coming up.
Jasper is our little soccer player. He's an extremely talented player and his coach says he'll definitely be on the traveling team when he turns seven. Jasper, Rosalie, Emmett and Alice are all in the same school now. They're all doing well but they don't like that they're getting homework. We've had some issues working on it with them.
Rosalie is now not allowed to see James or his family which is making Esme a bit nervous because he and Victoria have been granted parole and will be getting out soon. As far as Victoria, she still talks to her on the phone every now and then but now that she's old enough to understand what happened she hasn't asked to see Victoria for three months. Rosalie is an excellent gymnast. She's now getting very strong at only five with her tricks. She also does rhythmic gymnastics. Alice does tap at the same school. It's almost time for Rosalie to start doing meets. Rosalie's still doing modeling and she's been traveling a lot more.
I walk into Jasper's room and kiss his forehead as he sleeps. His hair is getting so long Esme usually ties it back. Then I walk into my princess's room and kiss her forehead before heading to the kitchen where Edward is already eating breakfast.
"Good morning buddy" I said before kissing his forehead "You ready for school?"
"Yeah, I finished my math homework I'm going to check it with Bella in the car she's good at math and-"
"Daddy don't go" Rosalie whined as she entered the kitchen
"Honey I have to go pick up Bella and bring her and your brother to school. I'll see you at the house Grandma is picking you up from modeling after you have gymnastics" I said before kissing her hair. My parents are in town right now.
"Nooo!" She whined before holding the waistband of my pants
I picked her up as soon as she began to cry hoping Esme would be down here soon.
"I'll be back at home tonight I promise. Don't cry Kitty" I said before kissing her cheek
"Hey what's going on?" Esme said as she came downstairs buttoning up her shirt before reading the situation "Oh honey Daddy will be back soon. Come here" Esme said as she pried Rosalie form my shirt
"Come on Edward" I said over Rosalie's screaming as we left the house
It's strange because Rosalie rarely throws tantrums. I know it's not me. I think the fact that James and Victoria will be out soon is getting to her.
Esme's POV:
"I thought you said it's bad to act like a baby" Jasper said as he ate his cereal while I rocked Rosalie who's now just sniffling in my lap while I ate. She cried while I changed her into her uniform I don't know what's going on. She also refuses to eat.
"Your sister isn't having a good morning sweetie. When you don't feel well I hold you" I said
"But Rosalie isn't sick she's-"
"Jasper stop it. Don't be mean to your sister, now are ready for soccer today? It's a big game"
"Yeah but Daddy won't come"
"Grandpa will though and I would come if I didn't have work. Emmett will be there I know he's playing goalie today"
"Can I go to his birthday party?" Jasper asked
"If you be good and do your homework without me having to yell at you yes" I said as I sipped my coffee
"Okay" Jasper said before putting his bowl in the sink
"Go get your soccer stuff" I said as I watched Rosalie sit up
"Do you feel better honey?" I asked. Rosalie shrugged and got off my lap before going downstair. "I'm checking on the dogs" she sniffed
Nahla and Simba are big now so they stay outside most of the time. Rosalie and Jasper get five dollars a week for taking care of them and cleaning up their rooms. Edward cleans his room and sweeps after dinner and he gets seven dollars a week.
I feel that it's so calm today I don't hear the school buses outside which is really odd. That's when I realize the kids don't have school today. Only Edward because it's Veterans Day.
"Jasper! Rosalie take off your uniforms you don't have school today! And Mommy doesn't have work" I said as I took out my phone
"What about soccer?" Jasper asked as he came downstairs in nothing but his underwear
"You can still go to soccer. Go put on a play shirt and sweatpants"
"I'm not cold"
"A shirt at least" I said and smiled when Rosalie came upstairs
"You don't have school today so change into play clothes"
"Then can I eat?" She asked as she took her uniform off
"Of course" I said"You guys wanna go see a movie or something today? You can't brag to Edward if we do"
"Yes I do" Jasper said "No I want to go to Alice's house"
"I don't know about that baby I'll call. Maybe Emmett can come over"
"I want Emmett to come" Rosalie said as she handed me her uniform
"Okay" I said "Now both of put on clothes I'm not going to say it again"
The twins put on shirts and Rosalie had her breakfast while Jasper watched a little television. While they were occupied I approved a few designs and prices before my phone rang.
I thought it would be Carlisle but it's Victoria's mother. "Hello?" I say into the phone before putting it on speaker
"Esme it's Victoria. I got released from jail this morning" Victoria said
"Oh….congratulations. Is James out as well?" I asked
"I don't think so but we're not together anymore I'm threw with him. Listen Esme I grew up a lot in prison and I'm really hoping that you and your husband will allow me to see Rosalie maybe once a month. I got my company back and I'm working really hard. I miss her so much"
"Well Victoria, you've never given me a reason to keep you away from Rosalie so you may come see her this weekend maybe you could join us for dinner with your mother"
"Thank you Esme. I only intend to be like an aunt to her. Though its not really up to me she still calls me Mama"
"No she doesn't she calls you Victoria now" I said
"That's not what she called me the last time we spoke but I'm fine with her calling me Victoria" she said
"That's good. I guess I'll call you to update you after I talk to my hus-"
"Can I put my leotard on I want to practice" Rosalie said
"Is that her?" Victoria asked
Because I have Victoria on speaker phone Rosalie immediately recognized her voice and ran over to the phone.
"Mama" she said "Why did you and Daddy take me?"
Victoria quickly answered in Russian, it wasn't a short answer she spoke for at least two minutes and when she finished Rosalie smiled and answered her in Russian.
"Love you too" Rosalie said before turning to me "Can I do gymnastics in the backyard?"
"If you wear leggings and stay where I can see you from up here yes" I said
When I turn back to the phone Victoria had already hung up.
"Mommy I want to practice soccer outside" Jasper said
"Go ahead honey just stay where I can see you. Don't get in your sister's way I don't want you two fighting down there or you'll both go to bed" I said
"We won't" Jasper said before going downstairs
I was hoping Rosalie would finally start to resent Victoria and James but she's still obsessed with her.
Jasper is still at soccer and Rosalie is at a fitting preparing for a runway show she has later for children's sport attire. She'll also be featured in their catalog.
Edward is home he's practicing the piano before dinner. He already did his homework he claims but I know he just wants to practice more.
"Esme we don't know what she said to her. She could've told her that she'll see her soon. We can't stop Rosalie from seeing her now who knows they might not want to see each other a lot" Carlisle said as we spoke in his office
"She told her she loves her Carlisle. And she still continues to call her Mama when I told her not to. She's ours and she always has been"
"I wish it was that easy love but it's not. She hasn't always been ours-"
"Mommy! Daddy!" Rosalie and Jasper yell from downstairs
We go downstairs to greet them. "Hi babies" I said as I picked Jasper up "How was soccer?"
"It was good! But my foot hurts" he said
"Okay baby we'll ice it tonight. Hey Daddy's girl how was gymnastics?" I asked Rosalie
"I did a double back handspring today" she said as Carlisle put her down
"Good job. How were they Karen?"
"They were good as always. I think you should consider putting the kids in physical therapy. Rosalie said her back hurts a little bit and Jasper has his foot" she said
"It's something we'll have to talk about. Rosalie and Jasper I want you two take showers and then we'll have dinner. I laid out your pajamas"
Karen left before we had dinner and after dinner the kids settled down in the living room with Carlisle and I.
Rosalie sat beside Edward on the piano bench as he played. Jasper is reading with Carlisle. The twins have to do fifteen minutes of reading a day. Rosalie did hers with Karen earlier.
"Mommy I want to play piano" Rosalie said when Edward finished
"No you don't Rosalie" Edward said
"Yes I do I want to learn how to play that. Please Mommy?" she asked
"Do you really want to play sweetie? You'll have to practice every day like your brother"
"I will"
"Maybe we can have someone come to the house on the weekends. Daddy and I will think about it"
"No Mom! I play piano not her! Why can't she do something else?" Edward asked angrily
"Edward you wanted to play piano because you say that lady playing in the park didn't you? She inspired you to play and you have inspired your sister to play. You should be very proud of yourself" I said
"But I don't want her to play the same thing as me" Edward said
"We can play together Edward" Rosalie said
Edward huffed and went upstairs. Rosalie followed him. "But Edward.." She whined as she followed him
"Mommy and Daddy don't ever get a break do they?" Carlisle asked before kissing Jasper's forehead as he continued reading
Next chapter we'll see Victoria and Rosalie together again! There will be a big soccer game and a meet, maybe even a birthday party!
