~ "Maybe he's having feelings for you? Under every mask lies a deep secret, after all." ~
56) Under
Aqua was telling Vanitas about what had happened in this very same room before he had decided to come and pay her a random visit. She had decided that forgiving him for that kiss was easier than staying mad at him. Besides, she could use the listening ear and blunt opinions of his right now.
Vanitas took a small sip of his drink, before saying, "Maybe he's having feelings for you? Under every mask lies a deep secret, after all."
This made her wonder what Vanitas was hiding under this mask of arrogance if what he said was true. More arrogance, if she had to believe Kairi.
Aqua shook her head. "No, I highly doubt that. And I think you don't believe a word of what you just said, either."
"…True."
Aqua frowned at that. "Then why did you say it in the first place?"
He turned his head to her. "You want an honest answer or a sugarcoated one?"
"The honest answer, of course."
"Because you seem to be so obsessed with him that it isn't even funny anymore. And because of what, really? Yes, I think he's an idiot, but you're an even bigger idiot for wasting your time on him. Move the fuck on! Sooner or later, he'll regain his memories and you'll be all alone again, more brokenhearted than ever. Is that what you want? Do you like being in pain? And here they say that I'm a masochist."
"What is your problem? Just because you had a bad day, doesn't mean you can take it all on me!"
"I wasn't having a bad day, actually. Not until you starting that boring sob story of yours that everyone's getting sick of," Vanitas sneered hatefully.
"Well excuse me for actually thinking that your brains can cope with more than just hate and anger."
Vanitas suddenly rose up from his place, startling an angry Aqua.
His voice was hauntingly calm when he said, "I have to go. I need to be up early tomorrow."
Without uttering as much as another word, he left the apartment.
"And that's two," Aqua sighed.
