60) Calm

He couldn't possibly have been more calm when he announced to everyone (that is Sora and Aqua's friends) that Aqua and him were 'officially' a couple now.

In reality, they were only dating, but it was a start and it counted as only a half-lie. Was this what they meant by friends with benefits, though? She had to look that up.

Aqua jumped when Vanitas kissed her temple.

"Don't overdo it," Aqua whispered in his ear, to which he smirked.

"Why not? The more we overdo it, the more Terra will notice you. Isn't that what you wanted in the first place?" he said teasingly.

"Yeah, and he'll think I'm as much of a freak as you are."

"Don't tease me," he growled, before gently grasping her chin and kissing her softly.

And before Aqua closed her eyes, she'd thought that she would have to need to pretend all the way that this was Terra who was holding her, kissing her, running his fingers through her hair. But the truth was, she knew this wasn't the case and the fact that it was Vanitas…made her stomach flutter.

"I'm happy for Aqua," Kairi announced when they had left Aqua's place.

"Hmph."

Kairi gave Terra a sidelong glance. "What, you're not?"

"I don't trust that guy," was Terra's simple reply.

The redhead pursed her lips, saying, "I'm sure there's nothing to worry about, even if he is a badboy."

"'Badboy' as in...?"

"Mean, obnoxious, a player, rude to the bone... The list goes on and on."

He raised an eyebrow at that. "You don't really seem to like him all that much either."

"I don't have an opinion on him," she stated, rather coolly now. "He's Sora's brother, that's all that matters really."

Suddenly, she seemed to falter. If Terra hadn't acted quick and caught her, she would have fallen on the ground, breaking her neck.

"Are you okay?"

"Yeah… Just a little nauseous. I just need to sit down for a bit," she replied with a stifled voice.

She sat down on the pavement. She'd turned as pale as a blanket. Terra quickly opened the bottle of water that he'd put in Kairi's handbag and handed it to her. Feeling a little weird being the only one standing, the brunet decided to sit down next to Kairi.

She took a few small sips until she felt slightly better.

"Are you sure there's nothing else?" Terra asked as soon as some color touched her cheeks again.

"Yes, it must have been the burrito from earlier, or something."

At that, the redhead got up with a determined look on her face and turned to Terra. "Aren't you coming?"

Terra followed suit, even though he felt as though Kairi wasn't completely honest with him. He knew that he wouldn't be able to forgot about the way her eyes had rolled back in her head any time soon...

A/N: Next chapter: "Terra's never had a bad word about your cooking before. It's nice to see the chef cook work like this."
