A/N: Wow, I haven't updated in ages. Sorry guys, both for the delay as well as the rushed chapter! :O My excuse is: I'm currently working on an original story, along with other little projects.
Thanks: ZalelTribal, Ms. Bookfan, Guest, and Chaos The True Kage of Lyokos. :)
~ "You know, Terra's never had a bad word about your cooking before. It's really nice to see the chef work like this. Makes me hungry, even though I just had lunch." ~
61) Hunger
Aqua barely dared to breathe at this moment; after all, if her hand moved too much, the frosting on the cake would look like it was done by an overly excited three-year-old. The bluenette was currently standing in her own kitchen, making Terra's favorite cake in hopes of triggering his lost or suppressed memories. This time, she had to do so without Vanitas' support, because he'd said that he had an appointment with a good friend that she had never met before. Of course she didn't tell that last part to Kairi, who would probably react in an overly dramatic fashion.
Either way, the kitchen smelled delicious at this point and that didn't go unnoticed by Kairi, who could finally see with her own eyes how good Aqua was at baking.
"You know, Terra's never had a bad word about your cooking before. It's really nice to see the chef work like this. Makes me hungry, even though I just had lunch."
Aqua looked up from her work briefly, smiling. "Thank you!"
From the corner of her eyes, she could see how the redhead's gaze rested on her fiancé for a moment (the latter seemed to be completely lost in thought), before stepping closer to the cake to inspect in.
However, instead Kairi started to ask clarification on Aqua's new relationship.
The bluenette blushed. "Well, it's still rather new, but yes, we're still dating."
Kairi's frown deepened at that. "Despite the things I told you?"
With a shrug Aqua replied, "He explained everything and it's not what we were thinking. He's not a bad guy."
"I still think you're brave for trying this."
Silence set upon them for a short moment, until they heard a growl, coming from Terra. What the two women didn't know was that the smell of the cake had awakened something raw within him, but it was so vague and it disappeared as sudden and fast as it had showed up. It was like trying to hold water in the cup of his hands.
"Honey, are you okay?" a worried Kairi asked, her hand resting on his shoulder.
He opened his cobalt-blue eyes and looked at her, "Fine," was all he said, before getting up and heading towards the hall. "I need to uh...bathroom."
Aqua and Kairi exchanged wary looks with each other, but Terra didn't seem to notice that. The question that was bothering him was, what was that sudden flash about?
A/N: Next chapter: "If I didn't know any better, I would say that Aqua was your fiancée and Kairi didn't even exist for you."
