~ How in the world had she not noticed this before! ~

64) Minute

Sitting right next to the toilet bowl in case things went bad was not how Kairi had imagined she'd spend her day off. She wasn't hungover, but she figured that she'd eaten something bad during breakfast. Maybe it was the eggs.

She felt horrible. Again, her stomach churned and the redhead didn't have the time to brush her bangs away when she threw up.

"Eeew," she moaned, while grabbing some toilet paper to clean her mouth and get rid of the nasty chunks in her hair.

Good thing Terra wasn't here, because if he saw her right now, he would probably never fall for her again. When her thoughts travelled back to the brunet man, she found yet another reason to become as pale as a blanket.

Oh no… When was the last time they had made love? That must have been before he lost his memories, so...almost two months ago!

As if woken up from a daze, Kairi suddenly dashed straight to her bedroom. She wasted no time emptying the contents of her bag on her bed. When her violet-colored eyes fell on her silver-colored diary, she grabbed it and opened it on the right page. Her menstruation cyclus didn't lie: she had skipped a month and this would be the second! How in the world had she not noticed this before!

The sudden panic almost made her hyperventilate. She had to go to the drugstore and buy a pregnancy test...

It was without a doubt the scariest minute in her life, as she waited for the result of the test. Because if she was pregnant, then everything would change… Sure, Terra hadn't fully recovered yet, but she was sure that she could manage to take care of one more pers-

Kairi wasn't able to finish her thought because of the beeping sound of the test. The redhead took a deep breath, before looking at the result.

The redhead sighed. She wasn't pregnant, so she figured that all the stress had made her skip a month. It had happened before, in her last year of college, during her exam week. However, Kairi wasn't sure if she should be relieved or upset; she felt like crying. To be honest, she wouldn't have minded taking care of a baby Terra. They had never been able to talk about children during their relationship, but Terra had made several (dad) jokes about it, so she'd figured that it had been one of his ultimate life goals. When it came to the new Terra, she wasn't too sure.

But she had lost this round no matter what way you looked at it.

A/N: Next chapter: "I don't know if I can go on anymore… with Kairi, I mean. She's nice and all, sure… but I don't feel anything for her and it would be unfair to her if I went on like this."
