A/N I'm really sorry that this has taken me so long to post. I'm still in a tremendous amount of pain and having to work and go have tests done to try to find out what is wrong I just haven't felt like writing. At least now we are closer to an answer and just waiting for tests to come back. This chapter doesn't have a beta so all mistakes are mine. Hope there aren't too many. I wish everyone a blessed New Year. Also I need to warn everyone that there is mention of rape although there are no details. I put a line of XXXX before it starts and one for after if you need to skip that part. Hope you enjoy.

Previously. . .

We took off after Edward at vampire speed. Edward being the fastest got there first and we heard his spine tinglin' roar. We were there only a few seconds later and we all saw red. There were at least thirty or more newborns fightin' the girls, and Carlisle. They were losin' as most of them had not been taught how to fight multiple vampires.

When Edward finally saw his mate Lillian she was missin' and arm and was still fightin' off a vampire male. You could tell what he had intentions of doin' just by the fact that he was tryin' to rip her clothes off. Edward had him and had his head off before he even knew that we were there.

After that we were all fightin' and tryin' to find our mates at the same time. It didn't take long for the Major to find his and he wasn't happy. I couldn't tell you why just that the roar that came out of him was the most feral sound I've ever heard him make. Shit, the God of War is back. . .

Bella's POV

We were all running around excited. Edward had called Lillian and told her that they had found Jasper and he was back. He had explained that they were going to take just a little longer to get home. They needed to make sure that both Jasper and dad had hunted enough. Both had been hurt in an attack of some kind. He wouldn't say anything else and explained that was why he was calling instead of Jasper calling me himself.

After assuring Lillian as well as the rest of us that they were all just fine and would be home in a few hours they hung up and then I became nervous. I had all of the fucking 'what ifs' running through my head. What if he can't forgive me, what if he tells me to leave and never come back, what if he hates me?

Everyone kept telling me that its impossible for a mate to hate the other and that Jasper couldn't send me away or stay angry with me. I did have hope as I had watched Peter quickly forgive Char for her part in our scheme against Maria. Then again it hadn't been her idea, it was mine and the only reason she agreed was because of her anger towards what Maria had done to Peter.

Before Peter had left with the other guys to go and try to find Jasper and dad he admitted to me that if the tables had been turned that Jasper and himself would have wanted the pleasure of fighting and killing the bitch by themselves while making us watch too. The only difference is that they would have known that we needed to be a part of it. He also told me that Char should have known better as she's a much older vampire.

We meaning us females plus Carlisle had decided that we would have a few minutes of reunion for the family as a whole and then everyone needed to have alone time with their mates. The house we were staying in was huge and had ten bedrooms which had all been sound proof but still some of us would probably go away for a few weeks at least.

The real problem was Alice. Since she was newly mated like I was she was having a hard time using her gift. Try as she might she couldn't get a clear vision of anything. Of course Lillian was just as bad as far as the pain of separation goes but she seemed to be more nervous than anything else. Normally it wouldn't have concerned me because she can sense the truth about others but she seemed almost fearful at times.

I talked to her and she just said that what she was feeling was stupid. I finally got her to open up and what she said while it didn't make sense I wasn't going to dismiss it completely either. She just said that she could feel evil everywhere around her.

I went with her to talk to Carlisle since he was basically the head of the family right now being the only male here. Fortunately, Carlisle is a very old and wise vampire and listened as Lillian tried to explain exactly how she was feeling, "I'm not sure how to explain it. I am feeling evil coming from everywhere. Its like a thick cloud of black smoke is all around us. I don't feel like anyone is watching us, its not like that. Its just there, like a presence almost. The only thing I'm sure of is that it gets stronger everyday, and I. .I think its closer as well. I'm not really sure just that its getting worse. I'm scared Carlisle but I'm not sure if I'm scared for the ones missing or for all of us left here."

"We probably should scout out the area at least close by. I know that every single one of you ladies can put most vampire males to shame in your fighting skills but that doesn't mean that you are safe. Just better at being able to come out of a fight alive. If there is someone around it could be someone left from Maria's army and they could kill any one of us if left alone or even just two or three together. They are skilled fighters as well.

I think that we need to go and scout out the area. Bella, do you think that you could go and keep your shield around the ones that go? I know that you can't keep the ones that stay behind shielded but it would be best to shield the ones on the scouting party. The better fighters will stay here just in case.

Bella, take Alice and Lillian with you. Stay up in the trees that way you won't leave a scent on the ground and possibly you'll be able to see if anyone is around and what they are up to. Go one mile out and then circle the area surrounding the house. Keep doing that until you have gone ten miles out.

Before anyone decides to argue and tell me we should go further I will tell you that I completely agree but I'm not willing to risk you having to be gone any longer that what it will take you to scout out ten miles of surrounding woods. I need to make sure that everyone is here and safe when your mates get back. I'm not taking on five angry mated male vampires because their mates are not here or have been hurt or worse.

We need to get this done quickly. The guys should be back by tomorrow morning at the latest. Bella I expect to hear from you every half hour. Just send me a text that everything is okay. If you happen to find someone then send me a text who, how many, and location. We'll go from there. Unless you see, hear, or smell something further out from the ten mile limit then turn around and come straight back. I won't be comfortable until you're back safe and sound. Now go and be safe."

Of course we found nothing. We even made sure to scent the area to see if we smell other vampires around and came up empty. We did see some areas that did have some old scents and you could tell that there was a fight with vampires but they were long gone.

Alice still couldn't see anything clearly. She got snippets of visions which didn't make sense. They terrified her because it showed things happening. One showed Lillian being raped and torn apart. Another showed me ripped apart, then yet another showed me as well as everyone else in chains serving 'Masters' that she couldn't see.

We did what we were told to do and then quickly made it back to the house. We didn't even bother to hunt which wouldn't be good for me. If I use my shield for any length of time then I have to feed or it won't work as well as it should. With Lillian feeling the evil getting stronger we didn't want to take a chance and possibly get caught off guard.

Carlisle had enough bagged blood for each of us to have one. It would have to do but it wouldn't strengthen me enough to be able to use my shield full force. I could only hope that maybe Lillian was feeling paranoid because Edward wasn't here. But something told me that wasn't the case.

We had all tried to call the guys but I already knew that Jasper's phone had been destroyed and so had dad's. Edward, Emmett, and Peter's all went straight to voice mail which meant they were turned off. Its what they do when they are hunting. But at least we knew there weren't any vampires close by.

It was a few hours later when we found out just how wrong we were. We had decided to spar and practice while waiting for our mates to return. It was both Alice and Lillian at the same time that were the first to know something wasn't right. Lillian suddenly screamed out that the evil was right with us. Alice had a vision of an army running towards us.

We had no chance to run. As soon as we turned towards the woods we knew we were surrounded. Apparently, the lack of a good feeding plus the sparing I had been doing had caused my shield to be ineffective enough to not be useful against whatever gift they had that helped them to sneak up on us. Why in the hell didn't I just fucking sit it out?

They charged at us and turns out they had at least five or more vampires for each one of us. At first we were able to hold them off. But it didn't take long for them to start getting the upper hand. We were able to kill a bunch but as soon as we had the numbers down out came another group of maybe twenty or more vampires. We were losing quickly.

My shield wasn't doing much. I could push a vampire away but I was now even weaker because I had been fighting for about an hour now. I made a serious mistake when I hesitated after hearing Lillian's screams and looked over to see several males ripping her clothes off.

Apparently a signal had been given and now each of us had between five and seven vampires attacking. Unfortunately, the females in our group were all being targeted for rape including me. I really tried to get my shield up but it was too weak right now.

I have to admit that I kind of felt sorry for Rose's attackers, almost. She wasn't going to go down without a fight taking as many with her as she could. She actually ripped a couple of their man parts off before she was finally subdued by at least eight huge males.

Char was similar but she had actually managed to kill three before another five had her pinned. Sadly, she was now enduring being brutally raped. It seems that her group got off on watching her kill and so they were able to get her naked and started in before the rest of us had even been pinned down.

I was doing my best but in the end I also had eight on me and there was nothing I could do. I had managed to look to where I knew Carlisle had been and saw that he was in pieces. He could only look on and watch as the girls in his family including his own mate were either being raped or about to be and probably killed.

I felt everything as my arms and legs were ripped off and then my clothes. For some fucked up reason the leader of my group made them put my arms and legs back on and even gave me a few minutes for them to reattach. I vowed right then that if I survived this that I would kill every single one of these fucking bastards that did this. I would find out who the fuck is responsible and torture them before they died!

At that very second I suddenly realized that something had just changed. I barely heard it and I could be mistaken but it sounded like a roar. It wasn't until I heard him that I knew what it was. Our mates were back and in Jasper's case it sounded more like the God of War's roar than his own. I heard Peter's and finally Emmett's roars as they spotted their mates.

I managed to look where I had heard the roar come from and watched as my mate was ripping vampires off of the females and then continue his destruction by ripping their heads off as he made his way towards me. He managed to lock eyes with me for just a second and I felt a strength rise up in me that I knew wasn't my own.

I used my shield and was able to push away the fucking assholes that were fighting over which one would take me first. I grabbed the first one I could reach and just started ripping. With body parts flying everywhere I just kept grabbing and ripping. After a minute I suddenly felt a shirt slip around me and knew that my mate whether he was the God of War, the Major, or just Jasper was at my side. For now all was right with the world.

We only had a few seconds but he took the opportunity to give me a searing kiss. He was the God of War and he projected strength into me as we parted and then started fighting side by side as it always should have been.

Most of the females were up and fighting now with only one not able to fight as well as she used to. Char was ripping as she went but it was like a part of her was missing. I feared what might have happened had Peter not made it in time. She still was going to have problems. Not even vampires can escape the horrors of being brutally violated by rape.

The problem we were realizing is that the more vampires we killed the more that would show up. For every one that died by our hands four more took their places. Some were gifted but what their gifts were I couldn't tell because while I was fighting along side of my mate, I was also keeping my shield around those that were in our family. No gifts could work on any of us.

My mate was busy fighting as well as continuing to send me the strength I needed to keep my shield up. I noticed then that my dad was seeming to concentrate towards certain vampires and I knew that he was using his gift to stop theirs. That is until I saw several vampires tackle him but they only overcame him for a few seconds.

That's how long it took Alice to get to him and get them off or help get them off. It would seem that my dad has Emmett's strength although he is still a newborn so that may account for it. I wasn't using the physical part of my shield otherwise we couldn't fight these vampires.

At least we didn't have to worry about their gifts being used on us. Still we seemed to be getting no where in the battle as more and more vampires were coming out of the woods. Even the God of War couldn't keep sending me strength without eventually losing some of his own and needing to stop and feed. These vampires weren't about to allow us to do that.

It wasn't until we were suddenly surrounded by not thirty or forty vampires but there had to be over a hundred. It was apparent that we would eventually lose this fight. Still none of us were going to stop. We would all fight until we died, or somehow got control.

Suddenly, the whole forest was alive with more vampires than we ever knew. It was another army but these vampires were highly skilled, ruthless, and almost as good as the God of War. While hundreds started fighting the ones we had been fighting two came over and asked Jasper if he was the Major.

"Depends. Who wants to know?" The God of War growled out.

"There is no time to explain. I am Demetri, and this is Felix of the Volturi guard. Please have the family that are not able to fight retreat into the house. We need to make sure that justice is done. There will be time later for details. Get in our way and you will be destroyed along with the ones we are after. A hearing will be held and you will be held accountable for your actions and for the laws you have broken." Demetri explained.

Felix spoke up then, "In case you are wondering, the punishment for your crimes is death.". . .
