A/N: If I update one chapter per day from now on, I can finish this story before the new school year starts. But every time I say something like this, I jinx it. :P Anyway, the following chapters will focus on Terra for a change.

Thanks: ZalelTribal. :)

76) Bad

Aqua let out a hearty laugh from behind the paper that she was currently reading, before flipping the page.

Terra frowned, ignoring the butterflies in his stomach at the sound of her laugh. He looked up from his phone. "What's so funny?"

The two of them were lounging in Aqua's apartment, waiting for their pizza to arrive, so that they could have a movie marathon. Aqua had been nagging at him to watch the Harry Potter series since forever, until he'd finally caved in. Terra had even taken a few hours off his work. Naturally, his scary boss Larxene had been anything but happy about that, but what else was new. Even the prospect of being yelled at by his boss didn't ruin this wonderfully lazy afternoon with the love of his life.

"You know how the Radiant Daily now has the 'How I met your mom' segment? Well, this person says that he didn't know how to woo a girl he really liked, so he spilled coffee all over her, just so he could ask her out on a date to make up for it. Apparently it worked."

Terra froze, his eyes darting back to his phone's screen again. "...Oh. Funny."

The bluenette's cerulean-colored eyes studied him curiously, wondering why he was acting like such a weirdo again, until it finally hit her.

She gasped. "That was you, wasn't it? That's how we met and how we started dating!"

"Well, what would you have done if you'd been in my place? You know I can't talk to girls!"

Aqua rolled up her paper and hit him over the head with it.

Then, Terra woke up with a start. He glanced over at the alarm clock and saw that it was only two in the morning.

Great, now he was dreaming about an alternative universe where he was dating Aqua. Things were getting more and more out of hand.

This was bad, how could he feel this way for another? His best friend for crying out loud too! And what was he supposed to tell Kairi about this development? It was a good thing that Aqua hadn't told her anything about the kiss, but the bluenette was avoiding him now altogether, so that was just as bad.

God, I made such a mess of everything, he thought, running a hand through his messy hair.

Too bad that Ven wasn't awake, so he could ask the young man for advice. For someone who was so young, he sure knew how to figure out people. It was something that Terra was secretly jealous of.

He couldn't remember what exactly had initiated his feelings for Kairi. Sometimes he had to wonder, had he been that drunk their entire relationship? It was not like they had a lot in common either. Sure, Kairi was a beautiful woman, but had Terra really been so vain to only go after good looks? As for Aqua, he wasn't too sure either, but that one had happened gradually. His feelings for Aqua had sneaked up on him. She had found her place in his heart, claiming it to be hers before he'd had any chance to notice what was happening. That's how he liked to think about it at least.

He really needed to start looking for help, before it consumed him. And Terra knew exactly where to go. In fact, he felt almost ashamed for the fact that he hadn't thought of him earlier.

But first, he really had to try and get some sleep. Tomorrow would be a long day if everything went according to plan.

A/N: Next chapter: "Terra. It's been a while since I've seen you here."

Can you guess who this new character is supposed to be? :P
