A/N: Thanks for all the reviews everyone! They made my day. :D I'll reply to them later today. I have another busy day ahead of me, so I'll probably only update this story once today. But never say never I guess. :P
Thanks: Anonblue (Guest), ZalelTribal, Jiosio, Killya008, and Guest. :)
~ "Couldn't you guys have killed him off instead of giving him amnesia? You can't believe how much trouble that idiot of a Terra has given me ever since." ~
96) Change
"Look, I already told them that I'm not interested in another mission," Vanitas said, sounding as though he was starting to lose his patience with whoever he was talking to.
Aqua took a quick peek from where she was hiding and spotted a man with spiky red hair. His eerily emerald-green eyes made a shiver run down her spine. There was something about him that gave her goosebumps, but she couldn't quite put her finger on it. Perhaps it was his aura, but something told the bluenette that she should watch out for him.
"Are you su-"
"I haven't changed my mind and I'm pretty sure that I never will. It's bad enough that I cooperated last time. Couldn't you guys have killed him off instead of giving him amnesia? You can't believe how much trouble that idiot of a Terra has given me ever since. The world would have been better off without him," Vanitas hissed irritably.
"Someone is a little cranky today. What's the matter, did you break up with your girlfriend?"
Aqua just couldn't believe her ears. Apparently, Vanitas had known all along who was to blame for Terra's amnesia, but he had never bothered to tell anyone who had caused that accident. The audacity! How could she have made such a mistake about letting someone this dangerous into her life? She should have noticed the signs by now. But love had made her blind and stupid. She used to tease Terra about being so gullible, but she was even worse!
Aqua deeply regretted the fact that she had come up to Vanitas to tell him that she was leaving Radiant Garden for a while to join Xehanort's orchestra. She'd thought that he deserved to know that, even if they weren't an item anymore.
Well, at least it was a good thing that she had come right in time to listen in on Vanitas' conversation with the just as dangerous-looking red-haired man that called himself "Axel, got it memorized?"
Could this guy be Xion's Axel? What was it with all these people showing up in Radiant Garden after all these years? Where had they been? What was their story? What did this city have that attracted them so much?
Either way, Aqua was flatout furious, both with Vanitas and with herself, for being so incredibly dense. This changed everything; she was going to ban Vanitas out of her life for good now.
Little did she know that it wasn't so easy. But she would find out soon enough…
A/N: And with this chapter, the story is now over the 100,000 words long. I never thought I could pull that off. :P
Next chapter: Considering his dark past, what did one drop of blood even matter anymore? It was nothing compared to all the bloodshed that he had caused before changing his name…
Can you guess who's involved in the next chapter? I gave a tiny hint in the preview itself. :D
