Part 9
~~~~Regular Point of View~~~~
Once they were back at camp Toshio went to start the fire, while Kagome sat down under a tree since there wasn't much that she could do since she was holding a sleeping kitten in her arms. Toshio, put the pile of wood that he had collected on their way back to camp to the side as he made a fire pit and placed a couple of the wood to start the fire.

Kagome, was absentmindedly petting the sleeping kitten. Kagome, couldn't help but think of everything that has happened. First, Kikyo sends her to the past where both Sesshomaru's and Inuyasha's father is still alive and seals the well so that she could never return back to the past or even her own time. It was all just too much for her.

Before Kagome knew it, tears began to spill from her eyes. Kagome, tried to wipe away the tears, but every time she did more tears took place of the ones that she wiped away. Toshio, stopped what he was doing once he smelled the salty tears. When he looked over at Kagome, he was stunned to see her crying.

Why was she crying? Had he done something wrong? As far as he knew, he did nothing. They were even now, so why was she crying? Toshio didn't know what was wrong but one thing was for sure he didn't like seeing Kagome crying, not at all. Toshio, made his way towards Kagome and once he was in front of her, he crouched down and gently took hold of her face.

"Kagome, please don't cry."

At his words, Kagome was shocked to hear the sincerity and comfort from him that he was offering her, that only made Kagome cry even more. But only because of how sincere and comforting, Toshio sounded at that moment. He truly didn't want her to be sad and see her cry anymore. Thinking that he had somehow managed to upset her even more he began to try to think of something else, until Kagome lunged at him rapping her arms around his neck and burying her head against his shoulder.

"Thank you, Toshio."

Shocked, only for a moment, Toshio soon relaxed once he realized that she was going to be okay now. After a few more minutes Kagome let go and pushed herself off of Toshio, he then wiped her last remaining tears away.

"Thank you, again Toshio."
"You're welcome."

After that, the kitten that had jumped off when Kagome jumped at Toshio, had decided that it wanted Kagome's attention again. So the small kitten pawed at her leg, catching Kagome's attention once again.

"Oh! I am so sorry little one, I must have startled you when I jumped didn't I?"

The small kitten just mewed at her in agreement, Kagome just smiled as she scooped up the little kitten and gently nuzzled her head. Toshio, watched the whole interaction and as he watched he realized something for the first time, of what Kagome was wearing. His eyes widen at what she was wearing.

How could she walk around wearing that . . . that indecent thing? Why was she wearing it? Why was she comfortable with such clothing? But most of all . . . HOW THE HELL DIDN'T HE NOTICE IT EARLIER?! The more that Toshio thought about of how he didn't realize her clothing much earlier, he remembered why he didn't.

He blushed as he thought of how he just payed attention to her enchanting blue eyes, blue that would obviously never have a rival in such beauty and color. Plus, there was also her soft looking hair, that he was sure that if he touched would be soft as silk. Yes, he was distracted with other things, that he knows realizes was something that he shouldn't have payed attention to.

Toshio, then realized that if Kagome was going to his home then he was going to have to get her new clothing, after all he would not bring her the way she was, people would talk and rumors would spread like wild fire. He didn't need nor neither want any of that or deal with it. Right so it was decided, Kagome would get new clothes as soon as possible, hopefully soon.

"Um . . . Kagome . . ."
"Hm? Yes, Toshio?"
"Why are you wearing such clothing?" "Or better lack of?" Toshio thought to himself.

Not understanding what he had meant, until Kagome remembered that the clothing that she was wearing, even if it was her school uniform, was seen as indecent in the past. With that thought, Kagome's face completely turned red at the embarrassment of her clothing and lack of thought.

"Um . . . well you see, the reason is because . . . um, well it's . . . required for young girls to wear this type of clothing where I come from." Even to Kagome, that sounded lame.
"Oh? Pray tell where such a place is?" Toshio, just couldn't believe that such a place made young girls wear such clothing!
"Oh, um! It is really far away from here." "More like 500, to maybe who knows how many hundreds of years away from now." Kagome, thought silently to herself.

At the thought of her time and how far away it was even more now and even more with the fact that she could never go back had made her sad once again. At sensing that the topic of her home was saddening her, Toshio decided that it would be best to change the subject and back to her need of a change of clothes.

"I had not mean to upset you, Kagome"
"You didn't. Anyways, why were you asking about my clothing?"
"It just does not suite you is all and I was wondering if you would allow me to give you a different pair of clothing?" Toshio, hoped that she wouldn't be too angry or offended him in the least.

At first, Kagome was going to decline but then remembered that her uniform was indecent in this time and that more than likely, Toshio just wanted to try and protect her from the ridicule from those who would call her out on her clothing. Happy of his worry for her, Kagome had decided to agree.

"Alright. Though I wouldn't want to be a burden if it is any trouble."
"It is no trouble at all, Kagome."

Pleased that she was not upset or offended not the least, Toshio smiled at her as he then turned back towards the fire or better lack of. Kagome just smiled at Toshio, he truly was kind and thoughtful, she would have to remember to pay him back for everything that he was doing for her.

With that, Toshio turned back to the pile of wood and started the fire. The flames roared to life and automatically, both Toshio and Kagome could feel the warmth from the flames. They both relaxed as the warmth of the roaring flames, that Toshio had brought to life just moments ago.

As the flames did their unique dance, Toshio glanced over at Kagome and held in his gasp as he saw how the bright flames gave his new companion a very beautiful glow. Kagome looked very close to an unearthly being, like something that was hidden but not all that hidden on this planet.

Kagome, felt that Toshio was looking at her, though she wandered why? Why was he looking at her so intently? Did she have something on her face? Wondering, Kagome gently brushed at her face as discreetly as possible but had felt nothing on her face, so why was he staring at her so intently?

Kagome shifted in her spot from the intense gaze that Toshio was giving her, Kagome tried to look at anything and anywhere but him, not wanting to make the situation anymore awkward then it already was becoming. After a few more minutes, Kagome could no longer handle the tension anymore.

"Um . . . w-why are you staring at me like that? Is there something on my face?" Kagome asked, she run her hand over her face. Toshio snapped back to reality, he cleared his throat.
"No . . . no. I-I am sorry for staring as long as I have. It is just . . . the way that the firelight was illuminating you. It was as if you were an unearthly being that is not of this could but could very much be. If that is understandable?" Toshio explained, he looked away with a light blush in his face.

Kagome immediately blushed at Toshio's words, she had never had such sweet and complimenting words be directed towards her in such a way. After all, Inuyasha had never once said an encouraging word towards her, not once, since they have meet and if anything it may have gotten worst since Kikyo soul was brought back.

So hearing such sweet words, especially from the father of both sons' that she has meet personally, it is refreshing and something that Kagome likes very much. But she still couldn't help but have that bit of doubt that maybe just maybe, that Toshio would turn on her and treat her just like or maybe even worse than how Inuyasha already does.

But then again from what she had heard from those who knew the Great Toshio, it is that he is very honorable and respectful, he was even been respected back by those who greatly respected him as not only the warrior that he was but as the great Lord that he was as well. Maybe, just maybe he will be different. Only time will tell.

After a while, Kagome started to feel tired but was trying to fight it off, not wanting Toshio to stay awake all by himself. However, Toshio was noticing that Kagome was trying, and failing, in fighting off her sleep, he found it both amusing and a bit confusing as to why she was trying to stay awake.

"Kagome." Toshio called out, snapping the nodding off girl's attention.
"Here! I mean, y-yes is Toshio?" Kagome asked with a dark blush in her face.

Toshio chuckled at her response, it was as if she was announcing that she was present even though he could see. While Kagome on the other hand was completely embarrassed, she had complete forgotten that she was still stuck further in the pass and not in class. More often than not, she would fall asleep in class and the teacher would be yelling out her name in roll call, thus her yelling the way she did when Toshio called out to her. Toshio cleared his throat.

"If you are tired, you may sleep." He offered earnestly.
"Oh! No, it is all right I'm *Yawn* okay" Toshio lightly smirked at her obvious sleepiness.
"Kagome." Kagome looked over at Toshio, who gave her a stern look.

Kagome felt like a child being told that it is their bed time, even though she wanted to argue with him but even she had to agree that she need sleep. After all it wasn't healthy to deprive one's body of sleep. Without any further argument, Kagome nodded her head and began to try and find a somewhat comfortable spot on the floor to sleep on.

Just as Kagome settled down, sleep starting to take over her but then she felt something soft, warm and very fluffy being placed over her gently. Kagome partly opened her left eye and was a bit surprised to see, that Toshio had placed his tail/cape over her and walked back over to the spot where he was sitting before.

Kagome smiled at this simple act of kindness, a kindness that she was not used to having someone care for her, especially since she was the one who took care of others and never once thought about taking care of herself. This was nice, having being taken cared of for once. Kagome snuggled into the fluff, getting more comfortable. Sleep was starting to take over even more and juts before sleep could completely claim her, Kagome whispered out, not knowing of Toshio had heard her or not.

"Thank you, Toshio." Toshio looked over at Kagome's sleeping form and gently smiled as he too whispered back.
"Anytime . . . Kagome."

Hey everybody! I am so so sorry that I haven't updated in a long while! Everything has been crazy and they are still going ot be crazy but I promise to update as soon as possible! So sorry in advance for the slow updates.

Anyways, this chapter is a bit shoerter then the others but in this one we get to see how Kagome feels from the tender treatment that Toshio is givng her, she compares it with how she is usually treated and it is not good. How will Kagome handle being treated kindly thus far? Will this help her realize a few things? Time can only tell.
