This chapter, a familiar face from the anime/manga is going to make an appearance. I really hope you enjoy it!
Eden and Heart were approaching the mountain range north of Roseshade.
"I wonder what's taking Jason and Sakura so long to bring Spiral back?" Eden wondered.
"Spiral IS pretty quick on his feet." Heart said. "Maybe they've yet to catch him."
"Those three are supposed to be our guild's S-Class." Eden said. "It's two against one so they shouldn't be taking this long. Guess they're weaker than we think they are."
"Oh, yeah?!" A voice came from the forest.
Before Eden could turn around to where the voice came from, he was socked in the face by Sakura, who appeared out of nowhere.
"What the hell, Sakura?!" Eden shouted at Sakura.
"Don't you dare call us weak, you dumbass!" Sakura yelled at Eden.
"Sakura, did you and Jason manage to catch Spiral?" Heart asked.
"Uh…" Sakura replied nervously. "Yeah… about that…"
Spiral, Flora and Jason came out of the bushes Sakura had jumped out of.
"Great, you're here." Jason said. "Now we can finally start."
"What are you talking about?" Eden asked.
"We're going to take on Silent Orochi." Spiral answered.
"What?! Are you serious?!' Heart questioned out of concern. "Silent Orochi is one of the Dark Guilds powerful enough to become a part of the Baram Alliance!"
"Which is why we waited for you." Jason said. "That and there's also the chance that 'someone' might come along and give us a hand."
"You talking about your girlfriend, Jason?" Eden joked.
"Not quite." Jason responded. "But they'll be sure to help us, that's all I can say." He then thought to himself. *With a Dark guild on the move, it's definitely possible that Crime Sorcière will come to take them out.*
"What makes you so sure they will come?" Spiral questioned.
"If they don't come, I have another plan we can enact until either they arrive or everyone in Silent Orochi has been taken out." Jason said. "Spiral told me that he only encountered one on his way here. Also, we had to hide from another person while we were waiting here. Based on that, my guess is they're all separated into patrols of one. Our best chance to beat them is to take them on with our superior numbers. All five of us should be enough to take each of them out without wasting much of our magic energy. In fact, by the time we encounter the next opponent, we'll have recovered some of our lost magic energy. I'm aware it's a sketchy plan, but that's all I got right now."
"It'll have to do for now." Spiral said. "For now, we wait."
Spiral kneeled down, placed his hand on the ground and closed his eyes. He used that to sense the vibrations of the nearest person so they could properly prepare. After a few minutes, he stood up and opened his eyes.
"There's one coming this way." Spiral said. "They're still far away, so we should have plenty of time to prepare an ambush."
The five of them waited for almost an hour hiding in the bushes.
"Are they close, Spiral?" Jason whispered with Spiral right next to him.
"Yeah, but…" Spiral muttered. "There are five of them coming this way now."
"What?" Jason quietly questioned.
Jason turned his head toward where he could see five people walking on the forest path. One of them was Morticia Crypt, another was a 30 year old tan-skinned man with a half-shaven head and a fur coat and brown pants, another was a 22 year old woman with dark red hair tied into a bun in the back and wearing mystical blue robes that went to her knees and purple pants and the third was a 41 year old bald man wearing a safari hat with a net surrounding his face and safari attire. The last person however is what worried everyone.
*Crap!* Jason thought. *That's Cobra of the Oración Seis!*
The person Jason referred to as Cobra leered in his direction.
"I can hear your thoughts." Cobra said.
"Bone Rampart!"
From underneath the Phoenix Dawn wizards piles of bones rose up and lifted them out of the bushes, revealing themselves to the five dark wizards.
"I heard your plan an hour ago." Cobra said. "Not bad and they could have worked, but unfortunately for you, I was here."
"How the hell did you get out of prison?" Jason asked.
"Silent Orochi broke me out to help them out with this mission." Cobra answered. "In return, they'll break out the other members of Oración Seis."
"Now, which of them will we take on?" The tan-skinned man asked.
Morticia leered at Spiral. "I'll take care of the one with the violet hair."
Cobra turned his eyes toward his back and stepped to the side dodging Sakura's attempted strike on him as she lunged at him and landed on the ground.
"Guess I'll be taking you on." Cobra said as he smirked.
Sakura and Cobra jumped away from the rest of them. Spiral jumped off the side of the bone structure and ran off into the forest with Morticia chasing after him. The man in the safari gear looked at Heart.
"I want to take on the little girl there." The safari man said.
Heart panicked, rolled herself off the bone structure and ran off into the forest with the safari man chasing after her.
"Flame God Explosive Flame!" Eden shouted as he charged at the tan-skinned man with his fist surrounded in black flames.
The punch connected and an explosion of black flames sent the man flying back and Eden chased after him. The only people left in the area were Jason and the red-haired woman.
"I guess it's just you and me now." The red-haired woman said. "My name is Xyla Bloodworth, one of the eight heads of Silent Orochi."
"What exactly are these eight heads you guys keep talking about anyway?" Jason asked. "Your friend mentioned something like that to Spiral earlier."
"Silent Orochi is comprised of three different ranks: head, heart and body." Xyla stated. "While many members of our guild make up the body, there are only eight heads and one heart."
"I assume the head and heart are the most powerful members of the guild?" Jason asked. "And also that the Guild Master represents the heart?"
Xyla did not answer and simply looked at Jason.
"I'll take that as a yes." Jason said.
In a forest clearing a far distance from where their fight started, Sakura and Cobra continued their battle.
"How the hell are you avoiding my attacks?!" Sakura questioned.
"I hear everything." Cobra replied. "Your muscles contracting and even your thoughts."
"That's ridiculous!" Sakura shouted. "No sound wizard is capable of that! Spiral told me that!"
"It's not Sound Magic I'm using, though." Cobra said as his arms became surrounded in dark red scales. "I'm the Poison Dragon Slayer."
"Wait, are you a Dragon Slayer like me or do you just have a lacrima?"
"So you're a first generation Dragon Slayer? This'll be easy then!"
Cobra jumped up and surrounded his legs in poison.
"Poison Dragon Spiral Jaw!"
As he was upside down in the air, he rotated and kicked Sakura, though she managed to block the kick with her arms.
"Forest Dragon Roar!"
Sakura blasted Cobra with her breath attack, point blank and sent him flying backwards.
"Forest Dragon Blossom Blade!"
Sakura charged up cherry blossom petals in her arms and thrust them toward Cobra in a blade like fashion.
"Poison Dragon Fang Thrust!"
A dark red magic circle appeared in front of Cobra and out of it came a claw made of poison that grabbed the blossom blade and crushed it to pieces.
"Poison Dragon Roar!"
Sakura was caught off guard by the destruction of her attack and was struck by the poison breath attack. Due to the poison entering her lungs as it continued to linger around her, she coughed and fell to the ground feeling incredibly weak.
"Looks like my poison's finally starting to take effect." Cobra said.
*Is this it?* Sakura thought as her breaths became shorter and more rapid. *Am I going to die here? No! I can't! Not until I see Fleuressca again! There has to be a way to survive this! There just HAS to be!*
(Begin Flashback)
A young Sakura was sitting in front of Fleuressca underneath the cliff.
"Sakura, as you know, Dragon Slayers can eat their own element to replenish their magic energy." Fleuressca said.
"Yes, you already told me that." Sakura said.
"But did you know that that's not the only element you can eat?" Fleuressca asked.
"What do you mean?"
"There are two known ways of acquiring Dragon Slayer Magic: Either learning from a dragon or being implanted with a lacrima containing the magic. The former is referred to as a First Generation Dragon Slayer and the latter is Second Generation. A Dragon Slayer who learned their magic from both sources is called a Third Generation. Should you ever encounter a Dragon Slayer with a lacrima implanted in their body, keep this in mind. You can eat one of their attacks and their attribute will be mixed in with yours. For example, if you meet a Fire Dragon Slayer implanted with a lacrima, you can eat their flame attacks to use Fire Forest Dragon Slayer Magic."
"Cool!"
"There are two drawbacks to this power. The increased power means you'll need to use much more magic energy. And the first time you eat the element, you'll feel sick and exhausted for the next few days."
(End Flashback)
*Guess I've got no other choice.* Sakura thought.
As Cobra was about to turn around to leave, he heard a suction sound that caught his attention. His eyes widened upon seeing Sakura suck up the poison that lingered around her. When she had finished eating the last of the poison, she hung her head down and sighed.
"You dead yet?" Cobra asked.
Sakura smirked and revealed that she had recovered from the poison.
"Not quite!" Sakura replied.
"How did you survive the poison?!" Cobra questioned.
"I merged it with my own element, so now I'm immune to your poison attacks!" Sakura said as she surrounded her right arm in cherry blossom petals with streams of poison.
She charged at Cobra.
*What's with this chick?!* He thought. *Suddenly I can't hear her thoughts anymore! Did she figure out a way to clear her head so quickly?!*
"Poison Forest Dragon Nightshade Claw!"
Sakura swung her right arm at Cobra and sent him flying into the air. While he was in midair, Sakura took a very deep breath.
"Poison Forest Dragon Roar!"
Sakura shot a breath attack consisting of cherry blossoms surrounded in poison at Cobra and blasted him out of the sky. He fell to the ground with a thud, rendered completely unconscious.
"You see?" Sakura smirked as her legs started to wobble. "I got ya…"
Sakura fell backward and fell straight asleep. It was at that moment that Foster and Meredy came by and saw what had transpired.
"Oh man, what happened here?" Meredy wondered.
"It looks like Sakura managed to defeat Cobra." Foster said as he walked over to Sakura. "Based on that last attack, it seemed like she acquired a new power. However it's completely drained her of magic energy at the moment. The two of us should stay here and heal her. Meredy, you have the first aid kit?"
"Yes." Meredy nodded as she pulled out a first aid kit and started to patch up Sakura.
"I'll keep watch over Cobra so he doesn't pull any funny business when he wakes up." Foster said as he walked over to Cobra. "Forest God Prison."
Foster had surrounded Cobra's body in a cage of black leaves.
"It's up to Jellal and Ultear to take out Vance." Foster said.
"What about the other Phoenix Dawn wizards here?" Meredy asked.
"It's possible… but I'm still skeptical about it. But if there's one thing I know they do, it's surprise me."
A/N: Yay! Sakura has a new power now! I hope you enjoyed this chapter! I might not get the next one done as quickly due to being called in to work on Sunday night and I have an appointment early Monday morning, but I'll try to get as much done on this as I can. Stay tuned for next time!
