OMG guys im ever so sorry for not updating in half a year! ever so sorry! I hope you can forgive me! Im going to skip to near the end of the summer holidays in this chapter so please don't hate me to much! love y'all! also, R.I.P Susie Change, fuck you JNash!

It was a saturday night and Jane and Maura were relaxing on Maura's sofa after a long day and a nice dinner that Maura had cooked for them both. Looking away from the TV Jane spoke up.

"Listen, Maur there's something I have to tell you" Jane said fiddling with the string on her jogging shorts.
"What's the matter" Maura asked concerned turning the tv down and turning to look at her girlfriend

"Well you know I want to be a cop"
"Yes and you know I fully support you"
"Ok, good, because I got into the police Academy, I received my latter two days ago"

"Why didn't you tell me" Maura asked curiously
"I don't know, I didn't really know how to" Jane admitted looked up from her hands to meet her girlfriends eyes.

"Jane im honestly happy for you, even tho it means dropping out of College but I am happy for you. Im sure Frost will find some more friends without you there"
"Frost got in to" Jane smiled lightly

"Oh wow, well congratulations to you both! That's great Jane"
"Thankyou, it means I won't be able to see you as much, only at weekends and its an hour drive away Maur"

"Oh.." Maura looked slightly disappointed "Look Jane we'll make it work ok? How long till you go?"
"Two weeks, I'm really excited Maura, but Im going to miss you so much"
"Ill miss you too Jane, we'll make the most of the time we have left and enjoy ourselves and try not to think about it too much ok?"

"Yeah, thankyou Maur. besides my Ma knows about us so you can come round and wave me off when I go. I won't be surprised if Ma drags you in for dinner though"

"It's fine honestly Jane, Angela is lovely"
"If you say so" Jane laughed standing up to get another beer

Walking back over the sofa Jane sat down and kissed Maura on the cheek. " I love you so much Maur"
"I love you to Jane, more than anything"

Two weeks went to fast for both Jane and Maura, the day had soon come around for Jane to say goodbye to everyone and head to the police Academy with Frost. Jane's Ma, and brothers along with Maura were saying there goodbyes whilst Frost was saying goodbye to his boyfriend Guy and his mom and her wife. Stepping up to her girlfriend Jane pulled Maura in for a hug. " I love you so much, I'll text you asoon as I get there, I'll see you in two weeks time" Maura pulled back.

"I thought you were coming back every weekend"
"We can, but for the for the first two weeks we are there we have to stay for this weekend and next weekend...but I promise you I will see you when I get back"

"OK, I love you Jane" Maura sighed
"I love you too babe" Jane smiled before pulling Maura in for a kiss.

Once finishing saying their goodbyes Jane and Frost got into Jane's car and headed for the police academy, they had both been waiting for this the day they decided they wanted to become cops and they were pleased to be doing it with their best friend.

A little over an hour later the couple arrived at the police academy, stepping out of the car they grabbed their suitcases and headed up the steps and into the building. Signing in and getting the key for the room and their ID badges they headed up stairs. They had requested that they shared a room and were pleased when they found out there were doing so. Placing there suitcases down on there bed each they started unpacking and deciding what they were going to wear tonight. On there first weekend there they had a social gathering where they could meet all the other students they would be training with. Around 8 o'clock they both headed down to the ball room. heading inside they headed over to the drinks and food. Getting a beer each they decided they were going to have to make friends other than just knowing themselves.

Maura sat on her sofa with a glass off wine watching a documentary on TV. She sighed as she checked her phone again. It had been four hours since Jane and set off to kick start her career. Jane had promised her she'd text her asoon as she arrived and not yet received one. Sighing she picked up her phone and sent Jane a text.

Hey babe, you haven't texted yet and I just wanted to make sure you got there safe and you're enjoying yourself.

Pulling her phone out of her trouser pocket Jane noticed she had a text. Opening it up it was from Maura. Shit Jane thought to herself. Reading the text she began to type out her reply.

Hey Maur, I am so sorry I completely forgot to text you. We had to sign in and be given instructions and a quick talk and now we're in the ball room"socializing" we're supposed to be making friends but no-one wants to know us. Hope you're night is going ok and you aren't drinking too much wine ;)

Jane pressed send before grabbing another beer.

Maura's phone chimed as she received Jan's text opening it up she began reading before replying

It's ok I completely understand, I hope you're enjoying you're night. I'm not drinking too much wine don't worry, it should be telling you to not drink too much beer. I'm sure you'll soon make friends. Everyone will just be as nervous as you too, relax it'll be ok

Jane opened the text and laughed

I'm kind of enjoying myself, be better if you were here with me so I could show you off. I won't drink too much babe, these two weeks will fly by

Maura smiled at Jane's text.

I wish i were there too. Yes they will. Im going to head to bed, I love you Jane

Night Maur, I love you too

Jane replied before sliding her phone back in her pocket and walking over to join Frost who had seemed to have started making friends. Smiling to herself Jane thought maybe this won't be so bad after all.
