Hey guys sorry for not updating in ages! been busy with college or out with my friends and i've hardly been on my laptop or had to effort to write a good chapter but i'm back! so i hope you enjoy the last chapter!

20 weeks had passed since Jane had started the police academy and now was her graduation day. Jane and Maura had seen eachother every weekend and always made the most of it. Jane was excited to finally be graduating and to start putting her skills into the real world.

"You look sexy" Maura said smiling at Jane as she straightened her girlfriends uniform.

"Thankyou, and so do you. New dress?" Jane asked smoothing her hair out before putting her hat on.

"Yes, I got it especially for today"
"Oh well you look sexy in it, and i'm going to rip it off you tonight" Jane said smiling before leading Maura out of the room and into the hall.

After the graduation ceremony Jane headed to find Maura, Angela and her two brothers.

"Congratulations honey, i'm so proud of you" Angela squealed pulling her daughter in for a hug.

"Thanks Ma" Jane pulled away from Angela before looking at Maura. "Hey, I um I need to talk to you for a second."

Maura followed Jane over to the drinks table looking worried.

"What's the matter" Maura asked quietly.
"I've just spoke to rosewood. I'm been assigned to LA...for my first two years as a police officer. Maur..i'm so sorry." Jane looked up to look at her girlfriends eyes as tears fell from her own.

"Why?" Was all Maura could get out

"Because me and Frost were late getting out applications in and so me and Frost and a few others aren't been sent to our first choice police station, and LA was both mine and Frost's third choice and so we're getting sent there. Maura, if I had known sooner I would have told you, I had no idea."
"Jane..it's fine honestly, we'll make it work" Maura smiled before giving Jane a hug.

"How, it's a six hour flight. I've got a week before I go so we are going to spend every minute of it together."

"Ok" Maura whispered back.

A week soon past and Jane and Maura were stood outside of the airport.

"I'll miss you Maura, I'll call you every day and skype and everything and I'll book holiday to come see you Maur.." tears started falling from Jane's eyes as they did Maura's.

"Sshh Jane, everything will be ok, call me when you get there. Enjoy yourself, learn things, this is a great experience for you. You've inspired me Jane." Maura smiled looking into her girlfriends teary brown eyes.

"How?" Jane let out a small laugh.
"I'm going to go back and finish my degree to be a medical examiner. I completed 5 years before dropping out, I contacted them and aslong as I pass the exams I can start where i left off."
"Maura that's great! I'm so proud of you" Jane couldn't help but smile.

"Thankyou, you should get going Jane.."
"Yeah..I'll call you when I get there and I'll see you real soon"
"I'll see you soon" Leaning in for one last kiss tears rolled down their cheeks. One last look and Jane had headed inside the air port.

Three months later:

"NO JANE DO NOT TRY AND TURN THIS ROUND BACK ON ME. THIS IS OVER. IT IS'NT WORKING OUT AND I DON'T WHY I THOUGHT IT WOULD IN THE FIRST PLACE! WE'RE ON DIFFERENT SIDES OF THE COUNTRY! NOT ONCE HAVE YOU MADE AN EFFORT TO CONTACT ME FIRST!" Maura shouted down the phone with tears streaming down her face. "We're done, you had holiday this weekend and instead of coming to see your girlfriend you decided to spend it at the beach getting drunk. we're over Jane"

"Maura please!" Jane shouted back un able to hold back tears.
"No Jane!" Maura hung up the phone before throwing it onto the sofa and heading to bed.

Nothing had gone right. The first month was fine they would call eachother and skype every night but then the calls would get less and less. The past two months Jane and Maura only spoke three days a week and most of the time it would be Maura to make the move. It had eventually got to much and the pair began to argue, tonight was the breaking point for Maura. She couldn't take it anymore. She loved Jane more than anything but that wasn't worth the pain she was been put through and the extra stress it was causing her on top of medical school.

So Maura broke up with Jane and now she didn't know what to do but to finish medical school and get on with her life..alone.
