This fight's going to have two or three parts! I hope you all enjoy!
July 4, X791
Sakura slammed her hands against the ground and a magic circle appeared underneath Sora.
"Forest Dragon Flytrap!"
A series of roots rose up from the circle and began to wrap around Sora's body.
"Takeover Magic: Angel Soul!"
Sora took on his Seraphim form and broke free of the roots. He then took the skies as Sakura just ran toward him.
"Get back down here and fight me!" Sakura shouted.
"How about the two of us fight down there?" Bryant asked Frost as he pointed down the large hole made during the previous battle.
"Heh, just because I like to show off my assets doesn't mean I'm willing to just go somewhere private with someone I just met." Frost jokingly replied.
"Hahahaha!" Bryant laughed boisterously. "You're real funny!"
Bryant jumped down the hole and Frost leapt after him, leaving Sakura and Sora to fight in the main arena. Once they reached the abandoned mines far below, a cold chill and a white aura started emanating from Frost's body.
"Come to think of it, nobody's seen what your magic can do." Frost smirked. "I'm eager to see it."
"Why don't you come find out?" Bryant smirked back.
"Ice Dragon Scythe!"
Frost formed an ice scythe and swung it at Bryant, but before it hit his body was enveloped in jet black iron and the scythe shattered upon contact.
"I'll admit, I felt that." Bryant said. "But it didn't hurt one bit." He started taking in a deep breath. "Iron God Bellow!"
A blast of sharp, black iron was shot from Bryant's mouth and Frost tried to brace herself.
"Ice Dragon Scales!"
She covered her skin in ice scales to protect herself from Bryant's breath attack. Her ice scales were cracking from the sharp, forceful attack and her feet were dragging along the ground until her back was to the wall.
Back in the arena, Sakura kept firing her breath attack at the flying Sora and he slowly glided out of the way.
"No fair!" Sakura shouted. "You coward!"
"Don't blame me for your inability to fly." Sora said. "You'll wear yourself out at this rate."
Sakura quickly looked around and darted to the stands, leaping onto one of the statues and climbing her way up its features until she reached the top.
"Ahahahahahaha!" Sakura laughed maniacally. "Let's see you dodge this!"
Sakura pushed herself off of the statue's head and lunged at Sora with a claw of cherry blossom petals surrounding her right arm.
"Forest Dragon Thorn Claw!"
Sakura swung her claw… except that she was only about hallway to Sora before gravity took its toll on her.
"CRAAAAAAAAAAAAP!" She screamed as she fell to the arena with a thud.
After several seconds of his unrelenting attack, Bryant finally stopped which gave Frost an opportunity to breath. His Iron God Bellow almost completely shattered her ice scales, her skin still largely intact thanks to the protection.
*I've got to get through that armor of his.* Frost thought. *I might be able to freeze it if I can get close enough.*
Frost touched the ground and it started to freeze over. As the ice covered the ground underneath Bryant's feet, spikes protruded from his ankles and pierced the ice to keep him planted in place. She then formed blades of ice on the bottom of her feet and started skating on the ice.
"Iron God Machine Gun!"
Bryant held his arms out and his fingers sporadically fired black iron bullets at Frost. She skated out of the way until Byrant could no longer turn his body and moved straight for his back once directly behind him.
*He can't attack me from his blind spot!* She thought.
Bryant leaned backwards to the point where his arms could hold him up and breathed out another Bellow. Frost took the brunt of the attack and was sent flying backwards into a mine cart, which pushed it to move along the tracks.
Meanwhile, Gajeel was walking down the cavern and angrily muttering to himself.
"Damn that Salamander! He'll pay for pushing me in that mine cart!"
He then heard a squeaking sound getting closer.
"Hm? What's that sound?"
In the blink of an eye, the mine cart Frost was knocked into ran into Gajeel, putting him in the cart and aggravating his motion sickness.
"Urp… Not again…."
On the surface, Sora was watching the cloud of dust disperse from where Sakura had landed.
"Huh?"
Erecting from the dust were what appeared to be wings made out of cherry blossom petals. When the sight became clearer, it was revealed that the wings were attached to Sakura's back as she looked up at Sora with a devious smile.
"Now it's a fair fight!" Sakura said.
One beat of her wings was enough to propel her into the air with great speed and was in front of Sora's face instantly.
"Forest Dragon Blossom Blade!"
Sakura formed a sword of cherry blossom petals and slashed across Sora's breastplate. It didn't seem to break through it, but Sora appeared to be in pain a bit.
"Looks like that armor is just for show." Sakura said.
"No… You're just really strong…" Sora clarified.
"That's good for me, then."
"But can you catch up?"
Sora flew toward the ground in a just few seconds and Sakura chased after him in only about ten.
"You might be able to fly, but you have yet to master the art. Heavenly Battalion!"
He summoned forth a hundred spears of light that all shot toward Sakura.
"Forest Dragon Wing Attack!"
Sakura knocked away all of the light spears with two streams of cherry blossom petals.
*She deflected my Heavenly Battalion?!* Sora thought.
Underground, the battle between Frost and Bryant continued. She still wasn't able to get close enough to him to freeze his armor.
"Come on!" Bryant said. "Ya got to be more creative with your plans to beat me!"
"Heh…" Frost lightly chuckled. "I guess that's my problem. I've never been very creative… As a kid, whenever they would play make-believe, they always laughed at my ideas being lame. Those were unpleasant memories… But six years ago, I met Melody. She came up with some ideas for new Ice Dragon spells and in return, I helped her overcome her lack of social skills."
"You had to bring that up…" Melody said unenthusiastically in the stands as she watched the fight on the lacrima vision.
"If Melody was here, this would be an easier fight." Frost continued. "But I just had to be paired with the no-breasted Dragon Slayer. I'll just have to make do. Ice Dragon…"
"I told you!" Bryant said. "You need to be a little more creative to beat m-!"
"BLIZZARD!"
A massive tornado of ice and snow appeared right on top of Bryant and locked him in its vortex. He still remained in his current position since his feet were planted into the cavern floor.
"I can just blow it away." Bryant said as he inhaled. "Iron God Bellow!"
Bryant's breath attack tried to hit the tornado, but it didn't stop. He then heard a cracking sound and looked to see that his armor was freezing over in ice.
"Dammit!" Bryant shouted.
Once Bryant and his armor were completely frozen in ice, Frost came leaping through the tornado with her fist surrounded in ice.
"Ice Dragon Frozen Fist!"
Frost punched Bryant square in the chest and shattered the ice along with the armor. The rest of his armor and the clamps keeping him locked to the ground cracked from the force and completely exposed his skin.
"Ice Dragon Roar!"
She then let out a point-blank breath attack at Bryant, resulting in him flying right into a wall and feeling great pain from the blow.
"And the Dragon Ladies of Phoenix Dawn are making their comeback against the knights of White Valkyrie!" Chapati shouted over the microphone. "Could this be the end for White Valkyrie?"
Kara, overhearing the comment, thought to herself. *We don't just sit around and do nothing after the games. We train to improve ourselves. Those young ladies haven't seen anything just yet.*
Sora and Sakura continued to fly in the skies above Domus Flau.
"Time to activate my trump card." Sora said.
"He wasn't even being serious yet?" Sakura questioned to no one in particular.
"Cherubim!"
Sora was enveloped in a bright golden light that blinded everyone, especially Sakura since she was so close to him. Once the light had died down and people's eyesight had returned, Sora's form had completely changed. This new form had four pairs of wings, the same silver armor only it looked like he put on a lot more weight and a flower bud in place of a head. The bud on his head bloomed to show a man's face.
"Am I supposed to take that seriously?" Sakura asked.
Sora suddenly disappeared, catching Sakura off guard as he reappeared right in front of her. The bud closed and reopened to show an ox's head. He then bull rushed right into Sakura, forcing her back several meters until she regained her balance and kept flying.
Underground, Bryant finally freed himself from the crater in the wall and smirked.
"Now that's more like it!" Bryant shouted. "This is the fight I've always wanted here at the Grand Magic Games! Time to go all out!"
Bryant knelt down to the mine cart tracks and started eating the metal like French fries. When he was done, he let out a content burp and cracked his neck before slamming his hands onto the ground.
"Iron God Cage!"
The iron around his hands began to stretch and expand along the floor over the ice until both he and Frost were inside a large metal cage, the floor of which was covered in a sheet of iron over the ice.
"Didn't you learn your lesson?" Frost questioned. "I can just freeze it over and break it."
Frost tried to freeze it over again, but it wouldn't do so.
"My cage is different from my armor." Bryant said. "I need to keep the iron on my body somewhat softer to keep my body mobile. That's the only reason you were able to break it."
Bryant charged at Frost as she braced herself for whatever attack he would throw at her.
"Iron God Cannon!"
Bryant shot a large, black iron ball from the palm of his hand and hit Frost like a train and sent her much farther into the cavern. After several meters, Frost pushed herself off and upward from the iron ball and landed on her feet. However, she could feel her bones cracking a bit from the attack and was forced to her knees. It was painful to even support her body up like that, let alone stand up. As she looked up, she saw Bryant walking toward her.
"Not surprised that your bones are feeling like jelly right now." Bryant said. "Even if you are a Dragon Slayer, your body is still as fragile as a human's. This battle was over the moment they selected us as the combatants. Ice is too frail, but iron is hard! My entire body is like iron! Even down there…" Bryant suggestively raised his eyebrows.
"You really want to do me, don't ya?"
"I'm not nearly as shy as Sora. That's why he chose to fight your friend."
"You might be strong, but Sakura and I are definitely stronger!" Frost boasted. "We may be down, but we're not out! It's time we show you what Phoenix Dawn's Dragon Slayers are truly capable of!"
In the stadium's infirmary, the grueling surgery on Aqua's arm was complete. She was lying on the bed, topless with her left arm over the blanket covering her body. She lifted up her right arm to see stubble covered in bandages and stared at it for several seconds. Tears were streaming down her face at the thought of never being able to use her right arm again.
*How could he let her do such an awful thing?* She thought.
A/N: And the fight will continue in the next chapter! I hope you all enjoyed! Stay tuned for next time!
