Here's the next chapter! I hope you all enjoy!
July 6, X791
In the caverns underneath Crocus, everyone just stared in complete shock at the sight of another Lucy standing in front of them. Lionel looked back and forth between the two Lucy's repeatedly.
"… It's Lucy's long lost twin sister!" Lionel tried to blurt out an explanation.
"Yeah, I doubt that…" Volt said to Lionel with a deadpan face.
"Another Lucy?" Mirajane gasped.
"Wh-what's going on?" Wendy wondered.
"What the hell…" Kyo said.
"It isn't… Gemini, is it?" Yukino questioned.
"Maybe it's the Lucy from Edolas?" Happy guessed.
"I know you've heard about how the Eclipse door can cross dimensional borders." The other Lucy said.
"Eclipse… You can't mean…" Pantherlily spoke.
"You used Eclipse to…" Carla realized.
"Travel from the future." The other Lucy finished Carla's sentence.
"WHAAAAAT?!" Everyone exclaimed in shock.
"That… can't be right…" Leo said.
"This country…" Future Lucy started to stumble. "… will soon…"
She collapsed and fell to the ground.
"Hey!" Natsu shouted as he jumped over to the Future Lucy.
"A-are you all right?!" Wendy joined Natsu.
"What the heck is going on…" Happy wondered.
"I don't understand any of this." Lily said.
Lucy just stared at her future self.
"Lucy…" Mirajane spoke.
"… This is so creepy…" Lucy muttered. "Why would I…"
Natsu picked up the Future Lucy and carried her over his shoulder.
"Well, we can't leave this Lucy lyin' here." Natsu said. "We should take her with us outta here."
"Let's get out of the castle and send up the signal flare." Mirajane suggested.
Back outside in the capital, Spiral was running through the streets trying to avoid all of the magic arrows being fired off at him by Leah, whom was running along the rooftops while shooting at him.
"Nimble, aren't you?" Leah said to herself while preparing another magic arrow. "But you won't dodge this one! Homing Arrow!"
Leah fired the magic arrow into the air and it curved toward Spiral.
"Oh crap!" Spiral growled. "I'm not gonna fall for this thing again!"
Spiral stopped running and threw his hands out.
"Sonic… Bass!"
A large sound wave got in the way of the arrow and destroyed in in midair, creating an explosion of smoke in the immediate area.
*Now's my chance to run!* Spiral thought.
Before he could start moving again, Spiral was kicked in the stomach by a lunging Leah and sent rolling along the street.
"It's just me and Lady Kara now." Leah said.
"Huh?" Spiral raised his eyebrow.
"We're the only members of White Valkyrie left in the games." Leah clarified.
"How do you know that for sure?"
"I've been watching my guild mates fight while I searched for sniping points. You managed to single-handedly defeat Momo and Bryant lost to your other sound wizard."
"Melody…"
"But she was swiftly taken out by Iron Rock Jura. As for Sora… that Saber woman… She took him hostage to force Lady Kara to fight your guild's strongest wizard."
Spiral's body began shaking, his teeth were gnashing and his fists were clenching tightly.
"You mentioned you were seeking a particular opponent." Leah said. "Based on your trembling, it would be safe to guess that you wish to fight Sabertooth. After what they did to your friends, I can understand your anger right now. In that sense, you are no different than Lady Sylvia. During last year's games, Lady Kara lost a single battle near the end. As punishment, she was forced to strip in front of the entire guild, remove her guild emblem and was excommunicated from Sabertooth. To see her younger sister, one she deemed a magical prodigy, humiliated just because she lost one fight in the three years she spent in Sabertooth, Lady Sylvia chose to quit the guild, start a new one and take revenge on that heartless guild."
"If you understand why I need to fight them, then why are you stopping me?!" Spiral questioned angrily.
"As I said before, this is a competition and our guild needs to accumulate as many points as possible. Also, Lady Kara went through hellish training to become as strong as she is today. If she succeeds, all that pain she endured will be well worth it."
"So you're not completely heartless."
Spiral threw out his right arm and fired a sonic blast toward Leah, who hopped to the side to avoid the attack.
"That comment was uncalled for." Leah said while aiming another arrow at Spiral. "Flame Arrow!"
An arrow made of flames was shot at Spiral. He tried to dodge it, but it was too fast to get out of the way. The arrow struck him in the chest and his shirt began to catch fire. He swiftly took off his jacket and started rolling along the ground until the flames died down. When he turned back to face Leah, she had readied another arrow only this one was made of pure white light.
"Drain Arrow!"
Leah fired the magical arrow at Spiral and his hands began to emit cold air.
"Never-Melt… Wall!"
A wall of ice rose from in front of Spiral and blocked the magic arrow before it could hit its target. As soon as the arrow dissipated, Spiral lowered the ice wall and it crumbled while he leered at Leah.
*If I'm going to beat her, I need to get in close.* Spiral thought. *She might also be skilled in hand to hand combat, but at least the fight will be more evened if I can get up in her face.* "In that case…" A magic circle appeared underneath him. "Sonic Accelerando!"
Spiral then dashed toward Leah at near breakneck speeds.
"A speed enhancement spell?!" Leah gasped.
She had no time to properly react when Spiral suddenly appeared in front of her, so she shielded herself with her braced arms and he kicked them, sending her almost flying back along the street several meters. When she lowered her arms, she saw that Spiral was still standing in the same spot he reappeared in, ready to fight.
"You're not running off this time?" Leah asked.
"Anger was clouding my judgment." Spiral said. "I was inconsiderate of your friends and anyone else that held grudges against Sabertooth. I should really thank both you and Momo for the advice."
"Momo?" Leah raised an eyebrow.
"Let's just say she told me to just be happy as long as Saber gets what they deserve."
*Thanks a lot, Momo…* Leah thought in disappointment. *Now this fight just got more difficult…*
Another magic circle appeared underneath Spiral.
"Sonic Energico!"
Spiral began dashing toward Leah and she aimed her bow and fired another arrow of flames at him.
"Sonic…" Spiral took a deep breath. "ALTOOOOOOO!"
With a powerful sonic scream, Spiral blew away the arrow and the destructive power of the attack blasted away parts of the street as they made their way to Leah.
"Did he just raise his attack power, too?!" Leah exclaimed.
Leah tried to brace herself while still holding onto her bow, but the force of the blast had sent her flying into the air. As she fell, she spun around and landed on a nearby roof on her feet.
*At this rate, he's going to completely overwhelm me.* She thought. *I just need one direct hit from my Drain Arrow and my victory is secured, even if does defeat me.*
Suddenly, Spiral reappeared behind her, pulled out his sword and charged up a large amount of magic power into it.
"Sonic Requiem!"
Spiral swung his sword and released a powerful sonic wave from it that hit Leah point blank. The shockwave had sent her flying toward a far off rooftop and landed on her back, her body beaten and bruised.
*She shouldn't be getting up from that anytime soon…* Spiral thought before he felt his legs give out for a moment, but he managed to get a second wind almost immediately. *I used up more magic power than I would have liked… Hopefully I can help out Jay and Sakura before things get crazy, but I should check on Leah before I l-*
He instantly sensed something from the direction Leah had flown in, more precisely he could pick up through his Sound Magic that she was raising her arms with her bow in her hands.
Over where Leah was, she was aiming a magic arrow at Spiral while still lying on her back.
*Just… one… shot…* Leah thought.
She released the arrow and Spiral got out of the way by ducking just before it could hit him. Leah was surprised that she missed and her arms became limp, her bow hitting the roof.
"I'm sorry… Lady Sylvia… Lady Kara…" Leah whispered before losing consciousness.
With the battle over, Spiral jumped down to the streets below and took a seat on one of the crates that hadn't been broken. He looked up at the clock tower to see that it within an hour or two, the sun would be setting.
*I wonder how many of us are left…* Spiral thought.
Elsewhere in the capital, Sting was waiting patiently in an alley with no one else around.
"Lector… Just wait a little longer…" Sting muttered.
Sting could feel something approaching him and fast, so he jumped away as something crashed into the spot he was just in, destroying every solid object close to it. Once he landed, he tried to peer through the dust to see who it was that tried crashing into him, but all he could make out was a somewhat small shadow.
"I thought I kept myself well hidden." Sting smirked. "Kudos… Dragon Slayer."
The figure stepped out of the dust and it was revealed to be Sakura.
She slammed her right fist into her left palm. "I've been looking all over for you! Your guild hurt my friends and I won't let you get away with it!"
Sting looked away from her and downward. "I know nothing can change what we've done… But… I'm sorry…"
Sakura became confused as to why Sting was acting so mellow, considering he was cocky before his tag fight with Natsu and Gajeel. She thought that perhaps the fight had a mental impact on the White Dragon Slayer.
"I was planning to lay low here until everyone else used up their magic energy…" Sting looked back at Sakura and took up a fighting stance. "But it looks like I got no choice now."
Sakura smirked and readied herself for battle. "Bring it on!"
Back in Domus Flau, Sylvia looked at the lacrima vision screen that showed the unconscious Leah.
*Sister, you're all that's left of our guild.* Sylvia thought as her attention was brought back to the screen displaying the battle that was about to take place between Jayden and Kara. *Knowing you, you're not going to waste your magic until you face Minerva. This battle is going to be difficult… but I'm not worried.*
In the capital, Jayden and Kara had both taken up fighting stances and the former dashed toward the latter with his right fist surrounded in water.
"Water Dragon Wave F-"
Before he could reach her, Kara stepped to the side, grabbed Jayden's right arm and flipped his body over, causing him to fall on his back.
"How did…" Jayden was about to say.
Kara stood over him with cold resolution in her eyes.
"If I am to face Minerva, I need all the magic power I have." Kara said. "I'm not underestimating your abilities; I just need to defeat you without using magic."
"If you think you can beat me without magic, you're either crazy or insanely strong." Jayden strained to say as he stood back up.
"I've trained both my physical and magical abilities for a year now." Kara said. "I WILL win this. Losing is not an option this time."
Just as Jayden managed to stand straight up, Kara kneed him in the stomach and the force caused him to cough up some blood before he was sent flying and rolling further down the street.
A/N: Done! I wanted to finish this sooner, but game addictions and still no job yet have prevented me from writing as much as I would like. Anyway, I hope you all enjoyed! Stay tuned for next time!
