This should have been a 100 year mission, not because it looked tough but it was too cute to kill. May stared at the ginormous creature. She squealed and the monster blinked the bigger eye and tried to scratch the back of his ear.
"So Cute." May said as she eyed the drooling monster. You could say she looked like Erza when she looks at strawberry cake.
"Ah, are you the mage from Fairy Tail?" asked a frail old man.
"Yes sir! May Herbiva. " May replied, straightening her kimono and cloak.
"Welcome! We were expecting you! I am the chief of the tribe. My name is Waizueruda." He said with a gentle smile.
"Do you mind telling me about this monster?" May asked.
"This monster is called an Eshiu. He slowly eats away my tribe's sanity through their dreams." The man said with a dark expression.
"Just kidding!" He replied slapping his knees. May shuddered remembering a certain tree man, like him.
"Haha… Ha." May awkwardly chuckled. She shuffled her feet- looking somewhere else.
"No, but this monster gives my people nightmares within their dreams. Some still haven't woken up since the monster came here. Then a lot of crime happened, all believing they were still in the dream." He replied in a serious tone.
"Okay. Are you sure the monster is the cause of this?" May asked pointing at the giant fur ball.
The chief looked shocked at May when she questioned him. He gave May a displeased look and nodded.
"Dare to question me child." He said trying to give May the hardest evil look he can. She snapped and her braided hair started to float and her giving off a dark aura.
"Oh ho. Look who's one million years too early, to give me a cold glare." May said giving a stronger impression on him than it did to her.
He coughed, shrinking back. He gestured May to follow him to his tribe. May nodded while trying to cool off the steam she created from her head. She shivered noticing the change of atmosphere in the area. May noticed the tribe didn't have any magic within them.
"My tribe is what you call a Treasure Hunter Guild." She looked around the village. The citizens were covered in dirt, some were eating it. May cringed at the sight.
"We have food, but it seems that they are not waking up." The chief said with a shrug earning a scowl from May.
The village was mostly made up of various metals. There were even metal staffs and trinkets.
"This is where you'll be staying at." He said to May. The hotel looked like an old factory with greenery growing on its walls.
"Oh thank you." May said looking at the building.
"I'll have my grandson pick you up tomorrow morning around 8. He'll take you to the spot."
May nodded and headed inside. She was surprised to see the inside totally different. It was like a vineyard themed hotel. She walked on to check in desk and signed in. When she entered her room, she called Master Makarov.
"Hello. Master?" May asked.
"Why hello May! Everyone be quiet I'm talking to May! What do you need dear?"
" I'm just checking in. How is everyone at the guild?"
"We're all fine, though it seems our guild was destroyed and now we're in the basement."
"Destroyed? By what?" May asked worried.
"Phantom Lord." Makarov replied instantly. Soon after he was cut off by a known voice.
"Oh. May! How's your mission going?" Erza asked.
"I just got here. So what is this Phantom Lord?"
May waited outside the hotel, wearing her new kimono and red cloak. Her dark brownish black hair was tied into a high ponytail with a Cherry hair band. A buffy man wearing tan chinos and a grey sweater walked over to May.
"Are you the Waizueruda's grandson?" May asked sticking out her hand.
"Yes, indeed I am. My name is Carlos, I'm assuming you're May."
"I am, so let's get to it."
May got a closer look in person. She touched the fuzzy creature. She giggled as it burped to the touch. It seems that the monster was stuck inside the hole it made himself.
"Well? Hurry up." He demanded.
"Just give me a minute to analyze." May replied.
Carlos grabbed his staff and pointed it at May's face. May had a tick mark on her forehead.
"Kill him now!"
"Oh, ho. So it seems like it goes through the generations."
She leveled her hand onto Carlos' staff while he gripped the speared object tighter. May felt her power surge into the palm of her hand, and a ball of black formed around it, snapping the staff into two.
"That was an S-class Treasure! You're going to pay for that!" He yelled, spitting a little.
"How so? It was self-defense." May shrugged and then turned around heading back to the village.
"Hey wait! You need to kill the monster!" He said throwing the other half of the spear onto the ground.
"Like a child." May said shaking her head.
May was tucked into her bed, wearing her favorite set of pajamas which were a black tank top under an open cotton shirt and matching shorts with cherry prints on them. Laying her head back on top of the pillow she began to enter the dream realm.
"Where am I? May said from a sitting position
She looked down and saw she was wearing a torn, white wedding dress. She gave a confused look and noticed her hair was out of her usual pony tail or braid. She felt a hand on her bare shoulder, making her look up. With a gasp she yelled out their name.
"Jasper!"
May quickly stood up and hugged him.
She tussled his fluffy brown hair as he gave her a cute smile. He turned and started walking away. May tried to grab his forearm but her hand went through. She stared at her hand and back up. She swore that he was solid a few seconds ago. May noticed the distance between them has increased, so she started running towards him.
"Jasper wait!" May yelled lifting up the heavy wedding dress.
In her line of vision she noticed a familiar tree. The tree where they hung him, the tree that took her sanity away. Jasper pulled down a rope and smiled at May.
"Jasper no! Stop!" May screamed, extending her hand forward to stop him, but all he did was, smile.
"Join me, May Herbiva. We can be happy together like this." Jasper said to May.
"No. No. Jasper stop this now!"
"Join me May-"
"May! Wake up!" A different voice yelled brining May back to reality.
"Where am I" May said sweating from her head.
May traveled back from the small treasure guild with Kippe by her side to Fairy Tail. It has been already a few months since she has seen her friends and slept in her own bed. Most of all sleep without having nightmares about Jasper. Surely before she left for Magnolia, she stopped at Julie's father's house.
"Welcome! Come on in! How are you May?" Julie asked in a happy tone.
May hugged Julie and replied, "I'm well how are you and your daughter?"
Julie ushered May to the living room and got out some snacks.
"We've been super well. My husband got a job near the coal mine, and my daughter is attending first grade." Julie gushed with a smile.
Kippe jumped around May trying to grab a cookie from the plate. His mouth was hanging out like a dog who needed water.
"Now who is this little guy?" Julie asked while scratching Kippe's head.
"This is Kippe. I got him from the mission I just came back from." May replied.
"Is he normally this size?" Julie asked.
"Yes, but on the mission he was ginormous because of the radiation from treasure the guild had." May said telling Julie about the treasure guild.
"He sure is cute." Julie told May.
"You can adopt him if you want. He's not a hassle to take care of and I can't take care of him when I get back to my home."
"Oh I can take him. Surely my daughter would play with Kippe all day."
"Really? Thank you!" May said with a smile.
She turned to look at the clock and she stood up. It was almost lunch time and May knew she had to get on the road if she wanted to get home sooner. May bid Julie farewell and left for Magnolia.
May started walking on the sandy road, sun beating down on her. She wiped off sweat that started to roll down her face. She suddenly wished that she had teleportation magic even though it probably only be 500 ft. at a time.
"Ahh! I see Magnolia! Just in time for the Magnolia Harvest Festival! But what are those lightning lacrimas doing up there?" May wondered.
