Sorry for the wait! I hope you all enjoy!
"Yukino! YUKINO!" Kyo called.
He was searching the courtyards outside of the castle. The night had grown quiet, away from the hectic games and the frantic fighting. The quietness did little to calm Kyo as every quiet second made him more nervous.
"Yukino Where are you?!"
"…Kyo…"
Kyo turned at the mention of his name and saw Yukino sitting against the wall, her arms hugging her legs as she buried her head into them. Kyo was finally able breath in relief.
"There you are!" He said walking towards her. "What are you doing here?"
Yukino speaks without lifting her head. "I beg forgiveness…I simply…"
"It's alright, we just gotta get back." Kyo interrupted. "Natsu and them are getting overwhelmed. If we hurry back we may be able-"
"I will go nowhere." Yukino's words made Kyo stop in his tracks just a few feet away from her. "You should understand…Those who are with me… are always hounded by misfortune." Yukino lifted her head up slightly, revealing her eyes were glazed. "It has always been true…even from back then. Everyone around me suffered from bad luck. Every friend I've ever had…even you, suffered because of my presence." The tears started to flow from her eyes. "I just cause bad luck for anyone-"
"Shut up you idiot."
Kyo's words were not sharp and angry, but soft. Yukino lifted her head to look at him only be caught in a full embrace from Kyo. His voice had fallen to just a whisper.
"I'm not gonna let you talk about yourself like that." He told her. "You are not bad luck. The fortune that falls on us is our own. You think you brought me bad luck? On the contrary, I think you have made me feel like the luckiest guy alive."
Yukino couldn't find the words to speak up.
"When you came to join Sabertooth," Kyo continued. "You started something. Before, all I cared about is strength. Being stronger than others was all that mattered…but when we went on that job, we met those people. They helped show what really mattered. And it's all thanks to you…for you being in my life."
"Kyo…"
"Everyone has a reason to be alive." Kyo continued. "It doesn't matter how small the reason is. And you have a reason, too. I know it."
It was now night and in the infirmary, Aqua was sitting next to a bed containing a still immobilized Jayden, everything except his face covered in bandages, castes and gauze.
"That White Valkyrie lady really did a number on you." Aqua said.
"… I'm… sorry…" Jayden tried his best to speak. "… I… couldn't… be… the one… to punch… Miner… va…"
"At least she got what was coming to her." Aqua said.
"What happened… to Kagura?" Jayden asked as he looked around Aqua and at Kagura, who was sitting on the edge of the bed next to his.
Kagura had just put on a shirt before she walked up to Jayden's bed.
"Just as I was about to surrender to Erza, Minerva stabbed me through the stomach." Kagura answered as she placed a hand over her belly. She then turned to Aqua. "Aqua, would you mind giving Jayden and I some privacy?"
"He MY guild mate." Aqua rebutted. "Why should I-"
"Just do it!" Kagura growled and glared at Aqua.
Aqua did as the swordswoman said without saying another word, leaving Kagura alone in the room with Jayden.
"I have to join my guild at Mercurius." Kagura said. "All of the guilds are gathering there tonight. We haven't been told why, though."
Jayden clearly tried to get up, but was only able to wiggle in place. When Kagura placed her hand on Jayden's, he stopped and looked right at her.
"Please, Jayden, just…" Kagura seemed like she was having a hard time keeping her composure. "Get some rest…"
Suddenly, Kagura started blushing and was sporadically lightly clenching her hands. Without thinking, she found herself leaning in towards Jayden's face and eventually gave him a kiss on his forehead. The kiss lasted for several seconds until Kagura pulled back and her face turned red at the realization of what she had just done.
"D-don't tell anyone about this!" Kagura stammered as she did her best to regain her typical demeanor.
After Kagura left the room, Jayden laid calmly in the hospital bed with a big smile on his face.
In the courtyard of Mercurius, royal forces had gathered in front of Eclipse, including Arcadios, Darton and Princess Hisui, the lady now dressed in white armor and fluffy cape.
"We will now begin the preparations to attack the dragons!" Hisui proclaimed to the soldiers. "Begin the Eclipse Cannon activation sequence! Open the locks!"
The tumblers in Eclipse's locks could be heard all throughout the courtyard as the guards simply stood in place and stared at it.
"Just how close are the dragons?" One of the soldiers asked.
"Eastern lookouts report no dragon sightings!" Another soldier informed the others.
"The western lookouts reported the same!" A third soldier added.
"And the evacuation of the citizens?" Soldiers continued talking amongst themselves.
"There are soldiers guiding them to safety, sector by sector."
"I pray that the first shot takes them all out." Hisui said as she looked up toward the sky. "I'm afraid it would require years for it to recharge."
Hiding in the bushes nearby were Lucy, Mirajane, Wendy and the Exceeds, watching everything carefully.
"THIS is where we happen to come out?!" Carla whispered in aggravation.
"It looks like they're about to open it." Wendy said quietly.
"Huh?" Happy looked next to them. "Where did Loke go?"
"Probably back to the Celestial World." Lily surmised. "Nobody can use their magic around Eclipse."
Lucy kept thinking back to Future Rogue's words, saying that she will inevitably open the door in spite of her claim she wouldn't.
"There is no need to hide." Arcadios turned toward the bushes the Fairy Tail wizards were hiding in, now clad in white armor. "Come out!"
They were all surprised that Arcadios was able to spot them and they stood up and revealed themselves.
"We never did anything wrong!" Volt protested.
"You and the minister together…?" Carla gasped a little.
"The situation has changed." Darton explained.
"Fairy Tail?" Hisui spoke before walking up to them. "We have done you wrong. However, since we are in a state of emergency, I must postpone the official apologies for later."
"Carla, it's the princess!" Wendy gasped in joy.
"I also offer congratulations on your victory in the Grand Magic Games." Hisui said.
"We won!" Happy cheered and jumped.
"So Phoenix Dawn lost?!" Volt exclaimed in shock.
"So everybody… managed to win it!" Wendy smiled and clapped her hands together.
"I should have expected as much." Lily grinned.
"Why are you opening the door?" Lucy inquired. "The dragons aren't here yet…"
"They know of the dragons?" Hisui asked as she turned to Arcadios.
"Yes." Arcadios replied. "They know of the situation. Come to think of it, where is the 'you' from the future?" He asked Lucy.
Lucy and Wendy all fell silent with melancholic expressions.
"She was murdered…" Mirajane spoke up. "By the other person from the future. The man."
Hisui and Arcadios were taken aback.
"He said I was going to stand in the way of opening the door so the Eclipse Cannon wouldn't fire." Lucy explained.
"And that is why he tried to kill you?" Arcadios asked.
"You will stand in the way?" Hisui asked.
"I won't do anything of the sort!" Lucy firmly shook her head. "But… Why are you opening the door even though the dragons haven't arrived yet?"
"Simple, the cannon needs time to fire." Hisui clarified. "If we waited for the dragons, there wouldn't be enough time."
"Will it really take out the dragons?" Lucy questioned. "All of them?"
"I can say… nothing for certain." Hisui responded. "However, His Majesty should be working on a plan for the worst-case scenario."
In the central city square of Crocus where the Li Ying Crystal was displayed, the King of Fiore, Toma E. Fiore, stood in front of the crystal and hundreds of wizards from the various guilds that were there for the games were gathered for the king's announcement of the coming horde of dragons.
"And so…" The king spoke. "We regret to interrupt the festivities even before the cheers could die down following the Grand Magic Games, however… the very existence of this country is threatened… or so I've heard."
Phoenix Dawn's wizards weren't far from where most of the Fairy Tail wizards were and talking amongst themselves.
"Ten thousand dragons?" Blaise gasped. "How can we possibly stand up to so many of those creatures?"
"Sounds like fun!" Sakura smirked.
"Have you forgotten about the 'threatening the kingdom' part of his speech?" Spiral questioned.
"I've never fought an actual dragon before." Frost said, bandages wrapped all over her body. "I wish it were just a one-on-one fight for fun than this."
"You both sound a little too excited." Melody said. "Frost, where are your clothes?"
Upon hearing this, Spiral's cheeks turned pink and looked toward the ground.
"What if my wounds open up during this battle?" Frost explained. "I don't want blood stained on my white clothes. Red doesn't suit me."
"Makes sense to me!" Tristan gave a thumbs-up while there was blood dripping from his nose.
"Currently…" They resumed listening to king's speech. "We have undertaken a large-scale operation to combat them. The Eclipse Plan. The purpose of the plan is to take out all ten thousand dragons in one shot. On the other hand… as this is a huge mass of dragons, we need a precaution in case several or hundreds dragons survive the blast. We ask all of you who belong to wizard guilds…" The king lowered his head. "To please aid us in our in our time of need."
"In other words, you want us to take out any dragons that survive?" A wizard in the crowd asked.
"Exactly so!" The king confirmed. "I ask you to save our country!"
All of the wizards cheered proudly and made various proclamations.
"Right!"
"Of COURSE we will!"
"Just leave them to us!"
"We'd never let a bunch of overgrown lizards kick our asses!"
"This country has always walked WITH magic, right?!"
"This is OUR country!"
King Fiore was brought to tears by everyone's willingness to protect his kingdom.
"Fiore's our home." Spiral said. "If someone or something threatens it, we'll stand up to defend it."
"Goes without saying." Static added.
"Do we REALLY stand a chance, though?" Azusa asked.
"If we don't fight back, countless lives will be lost." Aqua pointed
Not far from them, White Valkyrie was also gathered.
"Lady Kara, have you recovered enough stamina?" Leah asked.
"Let us hope." Kara simply replied.
"That's the Master's sister for ya!" Bryant laughed.
"Thank you!" King Fiore sobbed. "Thank you! Thank you… Punkin."
Everybody heard that and blankly stared at the king.
Future Rogue sent Natsu and Lionel skidding back across the floor.
"You…" Natsu growled. "You aren't really here to save the future, are you? I smell evil all over you!"
Future Rogue only answered with a devilish smile.
In the courtyard, Eclipse was finally opening up and everyone watched it closely.
*The door's opening!* Lucy thought as she stood before the door.
Nothing could be seen beyond the door except for a white light.
A/N: That's it! I hope you all enjoyed! Stay tuned for next time!
