"Oh my king, I thought I'd never find you!" The woman exclaimed as she stood in front of the couple, Edmund looking at her in an annoyed matter and Alex finally recognizing her as she called him 'my king', as she had done in the library.
'Calm thoughts Alex, calm thoughts.' She reminded herself as her fists automatically clenched.
"Lady Cassandra, how did you manage to get here?" Edmund asked directly, surprising Alexandra at his lack of politeness, he was a fine diplomat after all.
"Oh darling, you know I have my ways." She said flirtatiously, suddenly realizing the brunette sitting by her subject of admiration. "And you may be?" The blonde asked in a very rude tone, making Edmund's annoyance rise immediately.
Alex just smirked lightly. So she didn't know who she was…
"Pleased to make your acquaintance Lady Cassandra, my name is Alexandra." She said simply, omitting her title to see the reaction of the other woman. Edmund just looked at her questioningly, wondering what her purpose was.
Lady Cassandra immediately assumed she didn't have any title, which made her feel superior. She stood up straighter, with her head held high and pushing out her bust. Cassandra had seized up the brunette and couldn't deny that she was beautiful, she had to make sure she wasn't a threat. On the other hand, Alexandra wanted to laugh in her face, her doubts of Ed's infidelity with this woman long forgotten, he could have been hurt by her disappearance, but Alex knew him well enough to know he wouldn't stoop so low. Now she felt super silly for doubting him.
"Hello. May I ask what the two of you were doing?" She said and the queen's eyebrows rose at her boldness. This woman had no shame whatsoever. Edmund was going to tell her that it wasn't any of her business but Alexandra beat him by talking first.
"We were just having a conversation." She said, not addressing her by her title as she knew the other woman would be annoyed.
And by the lack of answers and attention she was getting of Edmund, she was truly irritated.
"Oh wonderful, I may join you then." She invited herself as she sat next to the king, way closer than Alexandra would have liked. Edmund wanted earth to open and swallow him whole. He was enjoying his alone time with Alexandra so much, she was actually answering some of his questions, and Cassandra just had to come and ruin it all.
Alex had planned a little prank for Cassandra, she only hoped Ed wouldn't be too freaked out when she asked for his help.
"Ed…" She tried to whisper in his mind as Lady Cassandra had started to talk about Aslan knows what, and the king immediately looked at her as if she had talked out loud. "Don't freak out." She warned and her husband looked at her with pretty much a question sign in his eyes.
'How did she do that?' He wondered to himself.
"Lady Cassandra." Alex demanded the attention of the other blonde, who wasn't very pleased to be interrupted mid speech.
"Yes?"
"What do you think of the name Francesca?"
"Pardon me?"
"I want your opinion on the name of my baby." She said and Edmund opened his eyes as big as two fried eggs, only to be reminded softly by his wife "Don't freak out."
"You're having a baby?" The blonde grinned like the Cheshire cat.
"I am indeed." She said touching her belly for a more dramatic effect and as much as Edmund felt quite uneasy about what was happening, he was curious of what Alex was doing.
Cassandra clutched Edmund's arm in excitement, now sure that the other woman represented no danger at all to her plans of getting the Just King, her smile only widening.
"I believe it's quite unique, however I like Henrietta better."
'Poor of your future daughter then.' Alexandra thought, she was getting annoyed of the woman touching her husband so much.
"Thank you for your opinion." The brunette smiled forcedly at the woman, who nodded and turned her attention back to Edmund, thinking their little exchange was over. "Are you aware that king Edmund has a wife?" She continued and the blonde frowned, wondering where the question had come from.
"Yes, but with all due respect my king…" She said making googly eyes at Edmund, who was unusually quiet. "She's a despicable woman, I heard that she abandoned not only him, but her whole reign long ago, and that she has no plans of returning. He deserves better." Cassandra said running one of her hands through Edmund's hair. Alexandra was losing her patience.
"That's not the case Cassandra, please, don't talk about her like that." Edmund defended Alexandra, but the green eyed woman ignored him.
"I agree." Alex said, surprising Edmund, who immediately turned to look at her in the eye. "I believe he deserves better, he's a wonderful man, isn't he?"
"Absolutely." The blonde frowned at the other woman's words. Was she trying to take her man from her? She was pregnant for Aslan's sake! She felt disgusting. "He deserves only the best." She looked into Alexandra's eye, making sure her eyes transmitted the warning to back off.
"Can I ask you a favor?" The queen asked innocently.
"It depends, I don't feel too comfortable doing things for commoners." Cassandra said, hoping this would get the other woman to leave them alone.
"Cassandra!" Edmund said outraged, but the blonde maintained her statement.
"Don't worry King Edmund…Oh Lady Cassandra, this favor I'm about to ask you is very simple." Alex said, not as calm as before, this woman was definitely insufferable. The blonde rolled her eyes but nodded.
"In the name of my future daughter and my own, I would really appreciate if you stopped flirting with my husband." She finished and Edmund's eyes shone with understanding.
However, Cassandra was a little slower in understanding the queen's words.
"I'm not interested in your husband Alexandra, the subject of my affection is on another level." She said smirking and looking at the raven haired king as if she had just won the war. Edmund wanted to laugh at her ignorance.
"I wouldn't be so sure, my guess is that they're more alike than you think…Almost the same person." The queen hinted again but the blonde gave her a blank stare and then laughed a little.
"I doubt it." She replied, now having lost her patience with the brunette woman.
"I believe I haven't made myself clear enough…" Alex said with a hint of a smile, hating herself for the next words she would say, but feeling they were absolutely necessary. "I'm asking you to pry your hands away from King Edmund, right now."
"And who do you think you are to ask that? As long as I'm concerned, you don't even have a title, commoner." She said trying to shame Alexandra.
'Wrong choice of words Cassandra, very wrong.' Edmund thought as he saw his wife smile wider. She was enjoying this little game with Cassandra.
"Oh Lady Cassandra, I think you got it all wrong. I don't like to use my title when I meet someone new, as I believe a person shouldn't be defined by a title, however, to clear all this confusion I shall introduce myself again." Alex announced. "My name is Alexandra, the Light Queen of Narnia and according to you, the despicable woman who had no intention of returning to Narnia or to her husband. Now that we are on the same page, can you please let go of my husband's arm?" The brunette asked forcefully once more with a smug smile on her face, she had ran out of patience.
Surprise surprise! Two in a row! Haha! Hope you enjoy and let me know what you think about Cassandra's character. Also hope you like Alex's sassy attitude ;) Love love love!
