The expression on the blond woman's face was truly hilarious, she paled and opened her eyes really big in surprise, in other circumstances Alexandra would have laughed in her face by then, however, the woman didn't release Edmund's arm, but grasped it harder. That of course, didn't go unnoticed by Alex, and it was more than enough to keep her focused on what she was trying to do.

"It can't be true…" Lady Cassandra seized her up again, this time taking the time to detail every part of the other woman's body. "You can't be…"

"I know. Despicable is such a harsh and ugly word…I have got my fair share of mistakes, but who doesn't?" The queen said innocently.

"My King, is this true? Is she your wife?" Cassandra directed her attention now towards the raven haired king, who was getting irritated from the lack of circulation in his arm thanks to the tight grip she kept it on.

"She is indeed." He confirmed and without even realizing it he turned to look at the brunette with a strong adoration in her eyes, which didn't go unnoticed by the blonde who was now furious with the pair.

"And she's pregnant?" She fired the question at him again, still way too upset at the queen for making a fool out of her in front of Edmund to even look at her.

"Yeah, about that…" The queen interrupted and when the blue eyed woman turned to see her she could read the clear hate in her eyes. "I was just looking out for my husband darling, he could have lost an arm due to that iron grip of yours." Alex explained, still trying to contain her laughter. Edmund was on a similar situation.

"This is…This is unforgivable!" The blonde exploded, closely after standing up with her fists clenched and a very red face. "My father won't allow this level of disrespect towards me!" She threatened and Alexandra raised her eyebrows in surprise. This woman was simply a show.

"Well, my apologies Lady Cassandra, my intention was never to mock you…" She said, surprising Edmund greatly. 'Is she really going to apologize just like that?' he thought to himself as he watched his wife closely rise from the grass. "I don't doubt your father is a man of great power, however, if you dareto threaten my kingdom, myself or my family ever again, I'll make sure you understand what happens when you disrespect Narnia's royalty. Are we clear?" Alexandra said in such a soft but menacing voice that even Edmund shivered.

For the first time he saw Cassandra's ego shrink on the presence of someone else, with an emotion resembling to fear mixed in her hateful eyes. The blonde right after Alexandra was done with her statement turned around and started walking away. One part of the brunette queen yelled at her to make the woman come back and remind her that she must wait to be dismissed and bow before retiring from their presence. On the other hand, the sensitive part of her told her to let the other woman go, it reminded her how much she hated those monarchs who thought themselves better than the rest of the world, that that person wasn't her, that she didn't want to be; besides, it wasn't as if she wanted her to come close to her husband anytime soon.

"I'm sorry." She turned towards Edmund, sitting back down as smiled weakly at him, she had put quite a show a few minutes ago.

"Whatever for?" He frowned. "I just saw the woman I married right there. Strong and clever, Queen Alexandra, not her ghost. You have absolutely nothing to apologize for." He explained and she smiled at him a real smile while lowering her stare and even blushing a little bit. She had forgotten how understanding he was…when he wanted to be that was. "However, I'd love if you could explain how I heard you in my head."

She sighed. Of course he wouldn't forget about that. Of course he wouldn't.

"Well, I wasn't sure if it would work on you…That is only part of-" She stopped talking when Ninarika quickly entered her field of vision. She could see in the corner of her eye how a puzzled Edmund followed her stare and then rolled his eyes in annoyance.

In only a few seconds the queen's guardian was in front of them, bowing accordingly before she addressed them. "Your majesties." She said formally and Alex smiled slightly at her proper behavior.

"Well met Ninarika."" Edmund said in a not very friendly voice. The tigress rose and focused her stare on her mistress.

"Alex, I already spoke with Robert as you asked…However, I think it's important that you hear what he has to say." The tigress said aloud. "Mimi's message." She whispered mentally.

How could Alex had been so stupid?! She had totally forgotten about her friend's message! How could she forget?

"Right, I should go do that." She said looking at her best friend knowingly, the tigress bowed once more and started to walk slowly back towards the entrance to the palace, giving Alex time to catch up with her. "I'm sorry Ed, can we finish our talk later? I'm sure we still have some things to discuss." She said looking at the king and as much as he wasn't pleased by her hurry to go see the blonde man, he couldn't say no to those eyes.

"Of course." He said with a forced smile, gaining a real one from her.

"Excellent." She declared and stood up, this time he copied her action. "I'll see you later then." Alex smiled once more and started walking away a quickly to reach her guardian.

"Oh, and Alex?" Edmund called out, making her stop to look at him questioningly.

"Yes?"

"Thank you." He said making a gesture with his arm so she'd understand he was referring to the Lady Cassandra situation.

Alex smiled enormously once more, remembering clearly the bright red color of the woman's face. "Hey, that's what wives are for." She winked at him and resumed her walk.

He just shook his head as a smile took over his features. Edmund knew Alexandra was completely crazy, especially with those random mood swings, but he was really relieved to see that she was still the woman he loved so much.

I don't know how I feel with Alex being all sassy, smiley, and giggly in this chapter :/ I just wanted you guys to see that she isn't only sadness and distress, but that she has a fun and queenly side too. Hopefully you'll like it…Lemme know what you think pretty please!
