The sun shone brightly that morning, filling the rooms of all the monarchs as a sign that it was time to start the new day. For Alex however, it only meant that she had to get up from the reading chair she had been sitting on all night long, not being able to sleep one bit.

"Alex?" Her guardian asked as she stretched still sleepy, she definitely did not have any sleep issues.

"There's something wrong." Alex said getting up, her back was super sore.

"What do you mean?" Said the tigress being alert all of sudden.

"With Edmund Nina, there's something wrong with Edmund." The queen reiterated.

"How so?" Asked the guardian confused. "He seemed just fine to me yesterday at dinner." Ninarika tried to remember the events of the prior day in order to see if she could find something that was odd or seemed out of place.

"I know that, I thought he was fine too, but didn't you notice something weird?"

"Something like what?" Said the tigress, resting her head in her front paws as she laid down again. She, as Alex's guardian, and also best friend, could clearly feel where the conversation was headed to.

"I don't know, maybe like the fact we were undisturbed all night, he didn't come looking for me, even after he was so set in having me stay in his room before."

Bingo. Once more, her instincts did not fail. Unfortunately, sometimes trying to talk sense into Alex once she had an idea set in her head seemed damn near impossible, and yet, she still had to try.

"Well, maybe he understood that you needed some space after all, isn't that what you wanted anyway?" Nina tried to state her ideas in a subtle, but concise way.

"I guess so, yeah. But that doesn't sound like him at all, you know how he is, come on!" The queen argued back.

So it would be as hard as she thought.

"Ok, Alex, the thing is that there is a possibility that as much as you have changed in the time we were gone, he has changed too."

Alexandra cringed, that idea had been floating around her head several times during that sleepless night, but hearing her friend say it out loud, it was ten times as frightening. Alex had always been terrible at dealing with changes.

The room was silent, both lost in their own thoughts, that was until a knock on the door echoed through the room.

The queen walked over to her dresser to get her robe, and then went to open the door as Nina sat up, her heart was beating very fast. Was it finally him that was showing up?

"Dear Lord Alex, you know I love you, but you look like hell." Robert stood up on the other side, all groomed up, this time narnian style.

"Well good morning to you too." She said gesturing him to come inside, and after he did she closed the door. She was clearly disappointed it wasn't who she was waiting for.

"Good morning Nina!" Rob greeted the tigress happily.

"It looks like someone had a great night of sleep last night." Alex said with half smile as she leaned against the door. Only then she realized how tired she truly was.

"And how could I not have? These beds are fantastic! So soft! So perfect!" He beamed.

"Alright then…" Alex said, trying not to laugh at his childish excitement.

"Oh! That's right! We need to get you ready for the day." He said walking over to her closet.

"Uh…Excuse me?" The queen said.

"Ok, so Lucy wants us to have an 'outside day' since the weather is so beautiful, she insisted that we need it cool down, also, she's already planned like 5 or 6 activities." The blonde explained to his friend.

"So she sent you to get me because she knew I'd say no." Alex assumed.

"She feared that much, yes. But the truth is that I offered to come get you. And for the record, we both know you wouldn't have been able to say no to those pleading little eyes she has." Rob stopped his search for a dress for his friend and smirked at her, who rolled her eyes.

"Is that so?"

"Yeah, I don't think your hubby liked the idea too much though." He shrugged and resumed his search.

Alex froze. For some reason, an encounter between her friend and her husband was unsettling, too much could go wrong.

"Figures." Nina said rolling her eyes.

Alexandra sighed as she crossed her arms. "Listen Rob, I already had plans for…" But the queen wasn't able to finish her sentence.

"Perfect!" Her friend interrupted her. "Here, put it on!" He shoved the gown into her arms and pushed Alex towards her bathroom.

"But Robert…"

"Wasting time! Now get dressed!" The blonde said closing the door behind her.

"Well fine then, I guess this day will truly end up going their way." Alex murmured to herself and even though Nina was on the other side of the door and her friend couldn't see her, she knew the tigress was laughing.

While the queen proceeded to wash her body and get ready for the day, her two friends were left alone.

"So Robert…" Nina inquired.

"Yeah?"

"Since when are you that good at lying to Alexandra?" The tigress said in an uninterested tone, not taking her eyes off the human as she laid her head in her paws.

"I don't kn-know what you're ta-talking about." He stuttered and flushed a little, making the tigress smile.

"Oh, come on! If you tell me what you're up to, I might consider not spoiling your fun."

Robert sighed.

"Alright, maybe Queen Lucy's invitation of spending the day outside wasn't exactly extended to Alex." He started, making the tigress raise her eyebrows in surprise. "But there's someone that wants to spend time with her."

"Oh that idiot should just ask her to spend time together if that's what he really wants. Everyone seems to think she would say no, but the truth is that she's craving their closeness as much as he is." Ninarika was kind of upset upon the realization the king was trying to be sneaky.

"I'm just trying to help." Robert said. "He really loves her." He pointed out.

Nina sighed. "I know he does, I wouldn't act nice towards him if his feelings weren't true."

Robert snickered. "Act nice towards him?"

"As nice as I can anyway, that's beside the point Rob." If the tigress could've blushed, she would have.

"Are you going to tell her?" The blonde asked, making the tigress sigh again.

"No. I've spent the last few years seeing Alex be unhappy because she wasn't with him, I think they both deserve to be happy, even if it's for a little while." She turned her eyes to him, and they both, without saying another word, understood exactly what she was referring to. "But seriously, tell him to stop being a girl."

Robert laughed lightly as Alex stepped out of the bathroom.

"What did I miss?" She said, now dressed in the attire her friend had picked out. It was a beautiful yet simple maroon colored dress with a heart neckline and golden details in the sleeves and skirt.

"Nothing." Rob was quick to say. "Now let's go! We need to get breakfast and…dear God Alex, would it kill you to put on some make up?" He stressed out.

She looked at him as if he was insane. "We're spending the day outside Robert, doing things in which you probably end up sweating a lot, especially in this weather. I would very much rather if my face didn't melt midday."

Robert loved Alexandra, she was one of his best friends, she had an incredibly big heart, she was super supportive and extremely kind; but being a stylist, he had always had trouble with her, because she had great taste in clothes, but when it came to hair and make up, she always wanted to be 'as natural as possible', refusing to let him do pretty much anything, it was an argument that he seldom managed to win. This wouldn't be one of those times.

He sighed exasperatedly. "Fine, let's go then." He walked towards the door and opened it to let both the tigress and her mistress walk through.

Alex though they were going to have breakfast in the dining hall as it was custom, but before they reached that room, Robert steered them towards the kitchen.

"Uh…" She tried to protest.

"There's no time. We will need to grab a few things to eat on the way, it took us longer than I had planned, and, erm…Lucy is waiting." He tried to continue with his lie, but Nina had to roll her eyes at how nervous he was acting.

It was only a matter of time before Alexandra caught on.

"That's fine then." Alex agreed and quickened her stride.

The three friends walked into the busy kitchen, and with some help they managed to get some bread, different fruits, and even some juice, and then ran along towards the stables.

"So Rob, what exactly has Lucy planned for us today?" Alex inquired biting into a pear.

"Uh…Well, she told me a whole list of activities really, but the only one I can remember is horseback riding." He half-lied smoothly.

"I see. And are Peter, Sue, and Cas coming with us?" She asked absentmindedly as she smiled at the different horses in the stables. Back on earth, riding was one of the things she missed the most about Narnia.

"Unfortunately, they're in meetings all morning."

"Oh, that's a bummer."

"Yeah…Oh, there's Lucy!" Rob pointed at the auburn haired queen, who was waving at them excitedly. Next to her, a fidgety Edmund stood, trying to busy his hands by brushing one of the horses.

"Good morning everybody!" The youngest queen greeted excitedly.

"Good morning." All three of them chorused.

"Rob, are you ready to go to the seamstress?" She asked politely, leaving Alex a little confused.

'That was the adventure she had planned?'

"Yes, her majesty. Alex, your horse is being prepared for you over there," said the blonde boy pointing to the left of where they stood. "Have fun." He finished quickly and before she could react to what was happening, her friend and her sister in law had disappeared.

'I'm going to murder him' she thought so Nina could hear, expecting her witty response, but nothing ever came, so she turned to her side to see what was making her guardian so silent.

But her guardian was gone too.

'You've got to be kidding me.'

"Are you ready to go?" Edmund asked.

Alex was still not fully aware of how they all had managed to trick her into this situation without her suspecting a single thing. She blamed it on her lack of rest.

Oh, but they wouldn't get away with it so easy. On the other hand…What else could she do but try to enjoy herself, right?

"Sure." She said with a small smile, getting on her horse and riding alongside her husband to Aslan knows where.
