Naruto sat by the fire, watching Sasuke. "So Naruto, for old times' sake, let's spar." Sasuke smiled, tossing a kunai to Naruto. "Now? I'm in no shape for that." Naruto said. "Well, we need to get your strength back up. I'm going to train you." Sasuke smirked. "I'm not gonna lose to you!" Naruto pouted. Sasuke pounced on top of Naruto, pinning him down. "Got ya." Sasuke smirked. Naruto shoved him off and jumped to his feet, kunai drawn. Sasuke drew his own kunai and charged at Naruto.

They sparred, like they were thirteen again. Sweat rolled down both of their faces. "You've still got that fight in you Naruto." Sasuke smiled. Naruto was completely out of breath, his body shaking. He was really weak. Naruto plopped to the ground and panted. "That's enough for tonight." Sasuke said. "You did great for all that down time." The raven kneeled next to Naruto, admiring the fight he still had inside, he brushed sweaty locks from Naruto's face. Naruto smiled up at him.

They made their way over to the fire and sat down next to each other. Naruto peeled off his jacket quickly, the cool night air felt refreshing. Sasuke's eyes were drawn to Naruto's wrists, illuminated by the fire. Naruto noticed him staring and crossed his arms and looked away. Sasuke dug through his bag and brought out his wraps. "Come here." Sasuke said. Naruto scooted towards him. "Wrists." Sasuke motioned. Naruto gave Sasuke his wrists. Sasuke gently wrapped up Naruto's forearms, stopping to trace scars along the way. "There, just keep these on, today is the day we put the past behind us." Sasuke smiled. Naruto smiled back at him. They both lie back on the grass and stared at the sky. "The stars are so bright tonight." Naruto said. Sasuke brushed another lock of hair out of Naruto's face. Naruto turned to face him. "They're shining for us." Sasuke said. Naruto blushed. "New beginnings." Naruto whispered. Sasuke smiled. "So, do you think they'll really believe your dead?" Sasuke asked. "I think I planned it pretty perfectly. Left my headband on top of my dad's sculpture and said 'I'm with him now.' So I'm sure they'll think I killed myself." Naruto said. "You say like it would be so easy." Sasuke scorned. "Before now, it would have been." Naruto said. Sasuke knew it was true and that hurt him. "I'm so sorry Naruto…" Sasuke whispered. "Things happen for a reason." Naruto smiled, taking Sasuke's hand. "It's all over now, new beginnings." He says and stares back up at the stars.

Naruto friends had been searching for weeks for Naruto's body, no trace of him was left. Today they gathered at the top of the Hokage monument and celebrated his life. Sakura stood with Tsunade and watched all of Naruto's friends gathered around. "He would have been so shocked to see how many people truly cared for me." Sakura said. "Except the one person he wanted to Sakura…" Tsunade sniffled. She hadn't stopped crying. "Hopefully he's with Jiraiya now, and he's free of all of the pain he felt." Tsunade whispered. Sakura stayed silent, lost in her own thoughts. She still hadn't come to terms with what had happened. "Tsunade…" Sakura whispered. "How do we move on like this?" Sakura asked. Tsunade stared at her. "He was our village, our hero, our idiot, our friend. We can rebuild the town, we can help each other cope, but how do we cope with the loss of someone that has touched every single person he had ever come into contact with?" Sakura asked, tears pouring down her cheeks. "Sakura…" Tsunade sobbed. Sakura turned to face her, tears pouring down her cheeks, "I promise you one thing Tsunade…" she began. "I will kill Sasuke Uchiha!"

Naruto's eye fluttered open and saw that Sasuke wasn't lying next to him. He looked around to see Sasuke in the stream close to their campsite. Naruto stood up, very sore from the sparring the previous day. He made his way over to Sasuke slowly. "You sore?" Sasuke asked. "Very." Naruto grunted as he sat down next to the stream. "Why don't you get in? The water will make your muscle feel better." Sasuke said, extending a hand to Naruto. Naruto made his way slowly into the water and it felt amazing on his muscles. "So what do we do now?" Naruto asked. "We're rogue ninja now, we do what we want to do." Sasuke smiled. "I have one stipulation." Naruto said. "What's that?" Sasuke quirked his head to the side. "No reckless killing, no one from the leaf village dies unless they are a threat to our lives." Naruto said. "What about Sakura?" Sasuke asked. "Huh?" Naruto asked. "What happens when Sakura comes to kill me?" Sasuke asked. Naruto was silent for a while, he really didn't know what to say, Sakura was his best friend, but she betrayed him, even if it was out of love. "I won't let her get near you, she will have to go through me first." Naruto said. Sasuke smirked and walked towards Naruto. "I knew you still had that fighting spirit in you." Sasuke said, holding Naruto to his bare chest. "So do we have a deal?" Naruto asked. "Of course." Sasuke smiled and kissed him. "Are you ready to get going? We are always going to be moving, we have a whole world to discover." Sasuke said. "I'll be by your side through it all." Naruto smiled. "Let's go." Sasuke smiled and took Naruto's hand.

Sakura sat in Naruto's house after the services. She was sitting in the dark in complete silence. She could still smell Naruto on his sheets. She hadn't stopped crying. "My love wasn't enough for you Naruto." She said to the darkness. "No one's love was good enough for you…except him." She spat. "And although I should be mad at you…I'm not." She said, picking up a picture of Team 7. "I'm mad at him." She whispered. "And I'll avenge your death Naruto, by making Sasuke Uchiha pay for all the pay he's caused you, and all of us!" She yelled.
