So this is chapter 8 of the story "Super Glitch". I know it's been a long ass time since I updated this story. But hey, I did warn you that updates would take some time. But I'm back, so read and enjoy what your reading.
Chapter 8.
Vanellope managed to get up, and realized that the smoke has cleared but not the damage. She saw that the door was busted but there was no gaping hole where Vanellope could escape. The missile seemed that it most of the work for her and Vanellope did not feel slightly tired anymore. She had to get out of there and talk to Ralph.
That's when she realized that how is she going to get out? Glitches can't leave their games, how will she be able to get pass the interference? Looks like Vanellope did not think this through. She decided to ultimately break down this metal door anyway. She felt quite frustrated at her realization.
Vanellope: "Damn it!"
She walked over to the door and gave a punch. Several chips of metal broke off and there was a hole. A hole you can actually see through the other side!
Vanellope: "Well it's about time!"
Taffyta: "King Candy, what exactly did you fire?"
King Candy: "Something I'm more positive that Vanellope will not be able to escape from."
Taffeta: "Well like what?"
King Candy: "The M missile thing failed because I only sent one of them and I forgot about Vanellopes glitch powers. These cherry bombs, notice that it's more than one bomb, will explode all over where Vanellope is. She won't have time to react, and even if she does she will probably only move 15 feet away and still get hit because these things act like fireworks."
Taffyta: "Sure this will work?"
King Candy: "Well I'm trying to slow her down basically. Make her feel weary, and I'm trying out to see which weapon will do that. Hopefully it'll be these cherry bombs. I've sent about five of them but I think I'll send more now."
King Candy pressed a blue button. The firing sites began to release more cherry bombs.
Taffyta: "What happens If she gets out?"
King Candy: "Don't worry, she won't."
There was a hole.
Vanellope knew she was close, but banging and punches were taking too long to finish the job. She needed something to melt away this door. Literally.
Vanellope remembered when she saw her hand and her cup turn red and when she drank the water it was warm, not cold as it originally was. She wondered, she should do that again. She pressed her hand on the scarred and wounded metal and concentrated deeply. She thought if she did that, then her hand would become red again and she would be able to melt the door away quickly.
She heard something that forced her to stop concentrating. She looked behind her, and in the distance she could see red round objects. This could be another attack on her. She got angry this time, " why can't those pricks leave me alone?"
At The same time she started developing anger, her hand that was pressed on the damaged metal began to glow red. Vanellope Quickly noticed it. The metal she was touching directly began to warm ítself
pretty fast. Is it working? It did not like look she was melting it just yet. Vanellope raised her anger up a notch and sure enough she started melting The door away faster than she could count. She started to press both of her hands anywhere there were still metal. After What seemed like a few seconds, she made an entrance big enough To go through.
Vanellope: "Bingo!"
She ran right To it, only to suddenly feel a strong pulse of eléctricity that froze her. There seemed To be like an invisible wall of blue particles that's been triggered and Vanellope was sent flying back 10 feet away.
Vanellope: "ouch."
Vanellope scratched her back.
Vanellope: "I don't think I can get through there."
She looked in The opposite direction, and saw those red round things coming closer To her.
"Aré those cherry bombs?" she asked. Sure looked like it.
"No matter, I'll just sit here and glitch at the last second."
Once she knew the first cherry bomb was close enough, she glitched and appeared 15 feet away and she saw the cherry bomb explode right in front of her, and just 2 seconds from that explosión Vanellope just didn't have time to glitch again (she Kind of got distracted by the explosión) and the second cherry bomb exploded just five feet in front of her. Amazingly, she was still standing, but she should have glitched after that because the third cherry bomb hit her dead on. Vanellope was sent bowling away to the door (though it didn't look like a door anymore) and Vanellope was suddenly frozen again by that invisible shield and right at that moment the fourth cherry bomb hit her dead on again and so did the fifth.
King Candy was watching the whole thing through the camera. All he was seeing was smoke and a crack on the screen. The camera's leñs was slightly damaged.
Taffyta: "Did it work? All I see Is smoke."
King Candy: "I dunno, but more cherry bombs aré coming in 25 seconds."
When the smoke cleared everyone in the room was shocked To see Vanellope standing and having a frown with purple sparlking eyes. It definitely looked like one of those "evil" looks you see when a villain Is about to plan some brilliant evil plot against his foes. Her clothes were also a different more darker color, but it looked cool.
King Candy: "wha- whats with her eyes?"
Taffyta: "Could it be that she Is preparing for a counterattack?"
King Candy: "looks like it."
In Vanellopes new high quality visión, she saw everything in two colors. White and bright purple, Kind of like heat visión or some sensory shit. Vanellope saw The cherry bombs and had them on lock. There was about 7 cherry bombs this time.
Vanellopes eyes grew more brighter, and meaner. With that, just 45 feet away from the air Vanellope shot a string of purple zigzags straight out of her eyes. It struck The first cherry bomb and it exploded in mid-air. The zip zap strings still continúed on Their way and went straight to the second cherry bomb, and then to the third, the fourth, and the fifth. They did not explode, Vanellope had grabbed them in midair with her powers. They cherry bombs just froze there...
King Candy: "What Is she doing?"
Taffyta: "I don't know, but it looks like Your screen says that Your "cherries" aré being recalculated.
King Candy: "Recalculated?" What The Hell?"
That Is true. In Vanellopes visión, she was changing the trajectry path of the cherry bombs, and the new destination seemed to be awfully close to where King Candy and all the Sugar Rush racers were.
Vanellope ceased her powers, the string of zig zags were gone and the cherry bombs began moving away from the exit of the game. They began going really fast too.
It took exactly 10 seconds for King Candy to realize what Vanellope had just did. Vanellope had redirected the cherry bombs to them. How did she do that? Looks like Vanellope is tougher than he realized, and probably more intelligent. Kind Candy looked behind him and all the Sugar Rush racers were staring at him.
Taffyta: "Uh, those cherry bombs look like their coming towards this room."
Kind Candy: "They are."
Taffyta: "What! What are we going to do!?"
Outside of the castle was Candlehead still tied to the Go-Kart and really upset about it. Not because the ropes were a little tight, but because she was hungry. Something in the air caught her attention, it looked far away but Candlehead knew what it was. "Cherry bombs? Oh no."
King Candy: "The Oreo Guards should be close to Vanellope by now, they should be there. I sent a few."
Taffyta: "I have a feeling those Oreos are getting fried."
Rancis: "I love fried Oreos!"
Taffyta: "Shut up Rancis!" she growled.
Vanellope turned around and stepped right up to the invisible shield that kept her from leaving (since she's a glitch and all) and she was only 10 inches from it. She could detect it was right there. Vanellope's eyes did not change back to their normal self, and neither did Vanellopes face gesture. She raised both of her hands causally and with all her deadly force sent purple zigzags shocks shooting to the invisible force and the entire force lit up in blue. There was a big cracking sound, and it keep going. It sounded like electricity fizzing.
King Candy: "Is she ….. trying to break through that force?"
Taffyta: "That's impossible, that's the thing that's kept that little glitch here for years!"
King Candy: "I don't believe this…."
Vanellopes rage was surging, so what her power coming out of her palms, the power hitting the invisible shield with such anguish it seemed like it was going to explode any second.
King Candy didn't forget about the cherry bombs, those things were almost here. He looked at the door and realized it was open. He needed to close that door, perhaps that would prevent the cherry bombs from entering the secret room.
King Candy: "Out of my way Sugar Rush racers!"
He flew past the small pile of racers, they looked a little puzzled. King Candy closed the iron door on tight and locked it with a key and went back to his normal position.
King Candy: "We all need to hide behind that food counter over there in the near corner, there's a bunch of stuff there that might protect us."
Taffyta: "There's a food counter here? Like those ones you see in a buffet restaurant? Why?"
King Candy: "Don't question and get behind it!"
The sparks were so intense that Vanellope began to actually do it, the imvisible force that kept her there for so long began to weaken. It's structure was falling apart, and Vanellope could sense it cause she began to slightly smile.
Back at the secret room, it began to shake?
King Candy: "What? Is this an earthquake?"
A tremor was all around Sugar Rush and its land, it could be felt everywhere. As quickly as it began, it stopped.
Taffyta: "Earthquake?"
Rancis: "Only a 4.5 tremor, at least that's what it felt like."
The screens began to flicker, all of them. Even the big one which was tracking the location of the cherry bombs. They just kept flickering, the lights on top of them began to flicker too. Taffyta looked up.
Taffyta: "Uhh…" she said looking a little concerned.
"We have to get behind the counter now!" yelled King Candy. He arrived there first and just about all the racers were behind the counter when there was an explosion that struck the door. It shook the entire room, and the lights flickered more constantly now.
Rancis: "Ulp!"
Taffyta: "Get behind here you idiots! Don't just stand there!"
A second explosion rocked the room, then a third. This time it dented the door to an extreme. The fourth knocked it down, sort of anyway. The lights went out, the racers and King Candy were in the dark. The several screens on the wall were still flickering, they were being powered by another source it seems. The last cherry bomb entered the room and it plopped on a couch which was on the other side of where King Candy and his racers were at. It exploded, and everyone screamed except for King Candy. He just covered his ears.
In front of Vanellope a wave of sparks, some more visible than others exploded in front of Vanellope and it passed her. Vanellope was still standing, but guess what wasn't? The invisible shield that kept glitches in their place. Well this glitch is no longer being held captive. Vanellopes eyes began to look like themselves again and Vanellope was brought back to her senses, well her normal senses anyway. What? I did it! I can actually get out of here." She walked pass to where the shield used to be and paused, this feels great actually".
Vanellope felt that her whole body had been captured by a net, because next thing she knew she was on the floor and began to be pulled away from her freedom. What the! Vanellope struggled to get out of the black net that grasped all over body but she couldn't, she looked behind her…
"Oreo Guards"…
Vanellope: "Hey let me out of here!" She heard a dog barking, one guard had one.
Oreo Guard 1: "Sorry glitch no can do, your coming with us."
The little girl grew frustrated as she saw the entrance diminishing in sight because she was being dragged away. This net appeared to be made out of black sticky licorice, that's a candy Vanellope hated. However she liked the color. Her eyes began to gleam again, turning purple and the Oreo Guard found it harder to drag her, even though he had help from the machine they were riding on. The Oreo Guard who was driving noticed the new appearance developing on the glitch. He stopped the wagon, and got out a spray can. This will do.
The Oreo Guard quickly went to the struggling Vanellope, he noticed one line has snapped. He better do this quick or she would be able to break free completely and who knows what after that? The Oreo Guard shook the can and gave a direct spray into Vanellopes face, this irritated the little glitch but within a minute she was sound asleep. The Oreo Guard smirked, knew it would work.
"Alright! She Is sound asleep! We can continue."
The Oreo Guard began driving again, but little did they know just how much time Vanellope would stay like that.
