Chapter 7: Determination Will Conquer, Hopefully

I'll be waiting, all there's left to do is run

Buffy pulled herself slightly from his embrace to look into his eyes, "I am ready and I know what I want. I'm not a little girl. I'm almost 17, and I know I love you. I want to spend forever with you. If I have to wait for that until after we graduate then fine. If we have to wait until after college then that's fine too. I will wait as long as it takes. Just know you say the word, I'll run away with you anywhere you want to go Spike. I love you William."

Spike gave her a kiss then held her close again whispering, "I'll wait forever for you Buffy. As long as it takes too. If we do good and show your dad he can trust us, perhaps he won't be so against it."

Buffy nodded praying he was right.

You'll be the prince and I'll be the princess

Spike rocked her slightly whispering in her ear so softly she had to strain to hear it, "Buffy, I promise even though it seems like you're a princess locked in a deep dark tower with your father holding the key, I'll be the prince and save you."

Buffy smiled slightly at the image as she whispered, "Promise you'll wait for me always?"

It's a love story baby just say yes

Spike nodded as he released her gently helping her up with a promise, "It's a love story. Baby just say yes and we will make it."

Buffy smiled, "Yes I'll always wait for you too."

Spike walked her to the motorcycle offering her the pink helmet as he pulled his leather coat around her to keep the chill off her arms as they drove home as he promised, "We will make through this. If we can't see each other in school, tomorrow night luv, meet me in the garden. 'Member luv, it will always be our special place."

Buffy wrapped her arms tighter around him as she promised in return, "I'll always be there."

Ten minutes later, they arrived at her house. He had turned off the motorcycle at the last block and had walked the motorcycle to her door hiding it behind the tree. He helped her off the bike, putting the helmet back in the front of the bike as she offered him her coat back, "See you tomorrow Spike."

Spike smiled at her placing a gentle kiss on her lips, "See you tomorrow Buffy my luv. We will get through this, I promise."

Buffy nodded still afraid as she slipped back into her opened window to find her door still locked. She opened the door noticing a plate of dinner had been placed on it but it was now cold. She sighed pulling the dinner into her room and she ate it noticing Spike had already driven away. She was scared for her future but knew what she wanted. She knew even at the age of 16 that she wanted to be with Spike always and nothing would stand in her way.

Well Giles didn't have as much control over Buffy as he would like. She was no longer allowed to drive with him to school but he couldn't stop her from eating lunch with him and they still had gym class and study hall together.

Their feelings for each other still continued to grow and they would spend each and every moment they could get away with together. They started double dating and even triple dating so that Buffy could leave each night with Xander or Willow in order to hide the fact she was still dating Spike. They continued to see movies together, go dancing at the Bronze together and even still took walks together.

So I sneak out to the garden to see you

Each night they went out, they would always sneak out to their garden to see each other, which is where they were now. Spike was holding her close as she rested the back of her head against his arm looking up at the stars. She dreamed of a place she could be safe and not having to hide everything she did. She loved Spike and wished people could understand that.

She let out a sigh as he whispered, "I'll always love you Buffy no matter what." ]

She held him tighter as she whispered back, "And I you Spike."

He always knew what the right thing to say was. He could read her mind and would cry when she cried and laugh when she laughed. When one was upset, the other was upset until they could fix the other. They were truly soul mates and Buffy knew what she wanted.

She whispered, "Take me home, Spike."

Spike was surprised she wanted to go home at ten since it was a Friday night but did as she asked. Killing the motorcycle two blocks down, he carefully walked the bike to behind the tree where e always parked to say goodnight to her. She knew what she wanted and only could hope he would agree. "Spike?"

"Yes luv?" Her birthday was tomorrow and she had made her decision, "Spike come up with me tonight. Sneak in my window and make love to me…"

Spike was in shock, "You sure? You aren't even 17 yet."

Buffy bit her lower lip knowing her mom would just be doing inventory downstairs much of the day. There was even a chance she wasn't home yet and her dad was away as well at a history convention required for his library position, "Yes I'm sure. Mom is downstairs in the basement working with inventory and thinks I'm at Willow's for the night. Dad won't be home until Sunday night. It's my birthday tomorrow and I want to spend the night before with you…"

Spike swung her into his arms and climbed the tree with grace and ease thanks to his karate. Buffy giggled but didn't want to be heard. Knowing if she made a lot of racket, her mom might very well hear and she would be in deep trouble. She laid back on the bed as Spike laid next to her. She was shaking with nerves but knew this is what she wanted. She raised herself up on her elbows to place a kiss on her lips.

He moved his hands over her skin as he had done many times in the past but knowing he would finally get to touch actual skin instead of clothing made Buffy moan out in pleasure.
