Chapter 14: It's Prom Season!

Buffy practically danced around in the dress store as she tried on dress after dress. Anya and Willow weren't idle but instead trying on dresses as well. Thanks to Oz and Spike being seniors, Buffy and Willow both had to find two different dresses of both the senior and junior prom. Anya only needed to find the one but she was always so picky it would take her a while anyway.

Anya sighed as she hung another back up on the rack, "This is store two and I still haven't found the perfect dress."

Buffy grinned as she hung a few more up on the racks. She was really feeling like a princess. She had been given money by her mom to go find the most perfect dress for the junior prom since Giles had refused knowing she'd go with Spike and Spike himself, had given her money to go find the perfect one for the senior prom. She glanced at the time knowing that in just two hours, dress or no dress, Spike would be joining the group, as would the other boyfriends so they could take in a late movie in celebration of making it this far in the school year.

Well two hours later they had made a little headway. They were now in shop number five and Anya had called Xander to inform him of the girls' new location. Anya had picked out her dress finally and was now sitting on a bench in the main mall, right outside the dress shop.

Buffy had chosen a white dress for her junior prom dress but was still struggling with the senior prom. Willow on the other hand had chosen three dresses and couldn't decide which would suit her. The one dress was a pretty pink that Buffy had said to keep for the junior prom. Willow didn't like the v-neck instead of a round neck but Buffy had been right in that it was beautiful and suited her nicely.

Willow was currently still in the blue one that Anya had chosen. Both girls had tried to ignore Anya's orgasm comments when deciding which dresses to choose. Willow heard Oz's voice talking to Anya, "She's in there. She has three dresses and I told her the black one was hot and would give her many orgasms but Willow just wouldn't listen. Perhaps you can choose which one."

Willow panicked. She didn't want Oz to see her in one of the dresses. She instead heard Xander's voice behind her glancing up at the two dresses that were lined up, "The two sent me in since you girls couldn't decide which to wear. Buffy, Spike votes for red if that helps. Will, let's see."

Xander looked over the two dresses and pointed, "Without seeing them on you it's hard but I chose this one…"

He had chosen the pink one as Buffy had, "and this one." This time he pointed to the blue sparkling number that Willow had on.

Buffy was surprised that he would choose the blue one but she had thought it looked nice on her. It showed off her curves.

Willow smiled with a nod, "Thanks."

She handed the two dresses to the lady who packed them up in a white dress bag so no one would be able to see it until the big day.

Buffy sighed. She had the white one already packed up but her dresses were blue and black, not red. She frowned as Anya showed up with a maroon colored dress in her hand. Buffy hadn't noticed it before and eyed the price tag. It was $150, which is why Buffy hadn't seen it before. She was aiming towards $50 to $100 since she had been using Spike's money. He had given her $300.

She hesitated a moment then just had to try it on. She grabbed it from Anya's hands giving her a smile before putting it on. As she emerged from the dressing room, she heard Willow gasp. She knew why, the dress fit her perfectly. It was almost like it was made for her. She turned around and Xander studied her for a moment, as his face expression didn't change, "You can't wear that. Spike will be all over you in that!"

He accepted Spike in his company but still didn't like the fact Buffy was dating him. Buffy grinned, "Exactly. I love it. Ok let's get out of here."

She went back into the dressing room and changed handing over the red dress as her senior prom one. Since the three girls were ready along with the three guys, the six students went to enjoy their movie.

The big day had arrived and again all three girls found themselves crammed into Buffy's bedroom preparing for the big day. It was hard to believe that about a year ago the girls had all been in this very room, preparing for a dance with Buffy not knowing the love of her life. She had met him that day.

She grinned as she twirled around in her white dress. Earlier that day since juniors had a half-day, they had gone to get their nails done, their hair fixed and all that was left after all the pampering, was dressing and their makeup. Now that it was all done, they were just full of excitement.

The group had rented a limo since Oz didn't have a vehicle, and Spike only owned a motorcycle, which would have ruined Buffy's hair and dress. Xander had a minivan but who wanted to arrive to the prom in a banged up blue minivan. The limo had been the perfect solution and split three ways, quite reasonable as well.

Buffy grinned admiring her look as the doorbell rang. A chorus of giggles erupted from Buffy's bedroom as Joyce yelled up the stairs, "They are here!"

Anya pushed her way knowing the first to enter would have all eyes on her. Once someone had entered the room and gone to their dates, they would become busy. She wanted all eyes on her. Willow didn't mind and allowed her to go first and Buffy frowned but only wanted Spike's eyes on her anyway. Anya gracefully walked down the stairs, carefully holding on to the railing with a grin as she heard Xander's sharp intake of air followed by, "Merciful Zeus" and a "That's my girl!"

Anya kept the grin on her face as she stopped at the bottom letting Xander put the corsage on her wrist and then stood in front of him. While he stuttered trying to say what he wanted to say to Anya, Willow made her entrance unable to hold off any longer due to nervousness.

Buffy was nervous as well but knew going last meant only Spike's eyes would be on her. Willow carefully made her way down the stairs and almost fell on the last but was caught by Oz and planted upright smoothing out all her fears. Oz wouldn't let her embarrass herself. He put her corsage on as she put his boutonnière on as Buffy took her turn.

She took in a deep breath and caught Spike's eyes. She seemed to glide down the stairs into Spike's waiting arms. They held each other's eyes for a moment until Xander cleared his throat, "After watching them gaze at each other, I need a shower."

Anya grinned, "A cold one? I know they will be having lots of orgasms tonight."

Giles cleared his voice and looked down at the floor as Joyce averted her embarrassed eyes away. Giles had seemed a little more tolerant of Buffy and Spike since he had learned he was leaving in the fall. He knew long distance relationships never lasted so therefore he had nothing to worry about. Buffy could focus on her school and college without worrying about Spike. Sure she would hurt but Giles knew it was for the best. After experiencing his first marriage, he knew young love never was meant to be.

He looked up at Buffy watching as her eyes shined with joy as Spike led her out the door. He called after them, "Be good this weekend."

Spike merely yelled out, "Will do!" never taking his eyes off Buffy. She looked amazing.

The dance was amazing. Spike and Buffy danced every dance together. Spike was hoping Buffy would get to be crowned Queen but after seeing the bloke that got King, he didn't want Buffy anywhere near him. He preferred her having every dance with him anyway. As far as he was concerned, Cordelia Chase could have the bloke any day.

The last dance of the night came and Buffy twirled around with Spike holding her close and she whispered, "You promise you will come back for my Senior prom next year Spike?"

Spike looked deeply into her eyes as his eyes glistened with tears for the upcoming day when he would have to leave her. Being reminded of that was hard but right now she needed him strong, "I can come back anytime you want me to as long as you continue school and let me still continue to work. I'll be here for the holidays, the dances and graduation and perhaps if you are good and understanding, even for your birthday but no promises on that."

Buffy smiled as she placed a kiss on his lips hearing the song be close to over. They were playing Love Story by Taylor Swift and her heart melted knowing it was fitting her story completely so far. She rested her head on his shoulder knowing the night was about to end. After the prom, they would get a whole weekend together on Spike's boat. It was to be beautiful weather as well.

Oz was whisking Willow away to a hotel in L.A . and Xander and Anya were going to go spend the night at his parent's house since they didn't care and they were saving money for their Vegas trip this summer.

Buffy heard the song end and looked into Spike's eyes as the D.J. made announcements about not drinking and driving as well as being safe and careful. She even heard him mention something about safe sex but was too busy losing herself in Spike's gaze to focus on the exact words. He whispered, "Ready pet? We are the first stop on the limo."

Buffy nodded as she accepted his hand and leaned towards him. He quickly wrapped his arm around her knowing this weekend should be fun and enjoyable for them both.
