Chapter 17: Time Flies By
Once the duo got home, time seemed to fly by. July turned into August and time was close for Spike to take his leave to England. Buffy's nerves were bad, so bad in fact she had been being treated for a stomach ulcer much to her parents as well as Spike's dismay.
He had immediately changed their eating habits to accommodate her needs and had been sure to allow her time to rest and sleep even while he worked hard. He was already starting his duties and was exhausted from squeezing in time for conference calls and emails from his winery and balancing his time with Buffy. He didn't mind but Buffy was a full time job and the winery was turning into a part time job and the two were making him feel drained.
Even with all that going on, all it took was one look from Buffy and he would feel refreshed and loved which would give him the strength to go on. Sometimes it would require Buffy to sleep while he entered an online conference call or that she would save the table at the restaurant so he could finish the last of an important phone call.
Sometimes even during movies, his pocket would vibrate sending an important email causing him to whip out his new palm pilot and answer a quick question. Buffy didn't mind. She would have dealt with this forever if it only meant Spike would stay in Sunnydale with her.
It wasn't meant to be and before she could stop it, the time had come for her to drive Spike to the airport. She slid in his new prized red convertible and she found herself sinking once again into the cooled seats being thankful that she had managed to get her license.
Spike was leaving the prized car with her so she could still get around. He had insisted she get her license since for the next year at least, she would be driving herself around. Since Buffy didn't feel comfortable on a motorcycle, Spike would be taking that with him leaving her the car he had bought just for her.
Buffy frowned leaning her head against his shoulder as he drove. In just an hour or so, he would be gone far away to England leaving her behind as a 17 year old just about to start her senior year.
She let out a sigh as Spike leaned over placing a kiss on her forehead taking his eyes off the road for just a moment, "Buffy don't worry. The year will fly by so bloody fast you will wonder where it got to then we will be together."
Buffy nodded, "327 days until I graduate."
Spike shook his head with a grin, "And how many weeks again baby?"
She laughed as she exclaimed, "47 weeks not counting this week. I wish that were days…"
Spike nodded solemnly, "I wish it were hours."
Buffy not to be outdone whispered, "I wish that were minutes."
Spike smiled slightly, "I wish that were seconds. Top that baby!"
Buffy laughed, "I wish that were milliseconds. Is there such a thing?"
Spike nodded as he whispered in a serious tone, "It will fly by. Just be patient Buffy and enjoy your senior year. Graduation will come before you know it and then we can be together."
Neither mentioned the fact that there were no guarantees that after Buffy's graduation they would be together. Buffy had been accepted into Oxford which is where Spike was going but it was a big year for them and would be full of so many changes.
Arriving at the airport, the tears started to flow down Buffy's cheeks before he could even reach the private jet that had been sent for him. Spike tried to kiss them away as they walked up the ramp. Since it was a private jet, she could enter with him everywhere but the plane itself.
Buffy looked at the plane labeled, "Pratt Winery" with a sigh. This was harder than she thought. She watched the flight attendant come and take Spike's baggage away and she clung to him whispering, "I'd beg you not to go but I know that isn't fair to you. It's hard on you as it is."
Spike nodded, "I'll be back for Thanksgiving and then for Christmas. Then before you know it, it will be February and time for your 18th birthday. Then I'll try for Easter but we will see. That's not the most popular of holidays although I should have Good Friday off, no promises though. I promise I'll be here for your prom and graduation."
Buffy nodded even as her tears continued to fall. She whispered softly almost too softly as the plane had started up, "Don't forget me and don't forget my number."
He laughed as he held out a pink palm pilot and placed it in her hand, "A present for the girl I love. 1 is me, 2 is your voice mail, and 3 is your home. You can program Willow, Oz and Xander as well as Anya if you want. It's free unlimited to me. I'll pay for the bill, no worries about that luv. This is better yeah?"
Buffy nodded holding the phone in her hand as though it were her life support. She clung tightly to Spike giving him another hug, "I'll call you all the time and you can call me. We will make it right? You will wait for me?"
Spike grinned with a nod, "I'll always wait for you. It's a love story so baby just say yes."
Buffy gave him a kiss as the flight attendant returned clearing her throat. When Spike looked at her she gestured towards the plane, "We have to go sir. You have a meeting an hour after your due arrival time to get you settled in."
Spike nodded and released Buffy hooking a finger under her chin, "Look at me and listen hard. I love you Buffy Summers and never bloody well forget it. Understand me? I'll always love you."
Buffy nodded as she whimpered slightly whispering back, "I love you too William Pratt. I'll always love you and don't you forget it."
He then released her totally walking the rest of the way to the plane. As he sat in his seat, he waved to Buffy blowing her a kiss as the plane started to take off. She cried and cried but waved and blew a kiss screaming at the plane, "I love you and won't forget you! Never!"
Spike had answered but she couldn't hear him because he was out of sight already. She took a deep breath wiping her eyes, determined to at least make it safe to her room not wanting to wreck Spike's car on the first day due to crying too hard.
She opened the door, and opened the top and blared Spike's favorite CD by the group Sex Pistols wishing it were June already.
As the school year started, Buffy realized Spike was right about something, the school year flew. He came home as promised in November for Thanksgiving. By then they had used millions of minutes and had probably broken the record for the most minutes used between England and Sunnydale, CA.
Spike would call her to wake her up in the morning since it was his lunch time. They would talk while she showered, then while she ate breakfast, he would eat his lunch and then she would say goodbye as she drove herself to school in his car. She started having dinner at 5:30 so at 4 when it was Spike's 10 pm bedtime so they could talk until he went to sleep. Then when he woke up at 5, he would call Buffy at midnight to make sure she went to sleep ok. Most nights she had fallen asleep already in tears but sometimes she would be awake just waiting for his call.
Things were tough but they could be worse. At least Buffy still had time to talk to Spike.
On the day before Thanksgiving, Buffy stood in a black jacket that was covering her long sleeves blue shirt and black skirt as she waited on the jet port for Spike's arrival.
Before he even made it off he plane, Buffy had jumped on him knocking him backwards as tears fell down her face. She had missed him so very much.
Luckily Thanksgiving was recognized by his company having so many clients from America, which means she would have four days with Spike before he had to fly home overnight to be there for Monday morning. She smothered him with kisses as she whispered, "I've missed you so much."
Tears fell down both their cheeks as there in the jet port on the stairs to the Pratt family jet, Spike and Buffy held each other tightly having waited four long months to be together. Never in their lives had four months seemed like such a long period of time.
Finally when both were cried out, Spike lifted Buffy into his arms and carried her as the flight attendants carried his suitcases.
Filling up the tiny back seat with his luggage, he climbed into the driver seat and drove to his Aunt's house where he would stay. Buffy was allowed to stay with him since Jenny was a generous lady.
All through the ride home, Buffy clung tightly to Spike not wanting to let him out of her sight.
By the time they arrived at Jenny's, the two barely took the time to eat the meal Jenny placed before them before they tumbled upstairs.
Jenny was going to be out for the night leaving Spike with the whole big house to himself. Buffy jumped on him once they got into the room and they made love in a hurried frenzy. Buffy took off Spike's clothes so fast that a few buttons popped off of his white shirt and Buffy's underwear was ruined within seconds.
Neither cared as they their clothes were thrown all around the room not even in piles as they normally did. Spike moved a hand down to feel her entrance way feeling it totally drenched when all he had done was undress her while kissing her senseless.
He slowed down a bit to enjoy the feel of her skin that he had missed so much, to hear her moans that had only been heard by him as well as to taste her skin which tasted just like heaven.
Buffy's hands weren't idle as they were massaging his back, wrapping her legs around his waist trying to get as close to him as possible. It seemed no matter how close they were, they just couldn't be close enough.
Buffy gasped out as she shuddered from a mini-orgasm as she whispered in a shaky voice, "Please. Oh please I need you in me like now!"
Spike chuckled but instead of listening he leaned his head down to taste her whispering, "You taste as good as I remember. Even better if that's possible."
Buffy pulled his face so it was even with hers and kissed him again and again whispering between kisses, "Please in me now!"
Spike didn't even stop kissing he as he lunged deeply in her feeling her as she hadn't been filled in months. It felt as though he was finally home as he moved along with her whispering, "Bloody Hell, how did I live without this for months?"
Buffy shook her head as tears filled her eyes, "I don't know but never leave me again."
Spike didn't bother to tell her he would in just four days and instead held her tightly making every moment count. As though memorizing her parts, he touched each with his hands and kissed everywhere he could reach.
Buffy was lost in the sensations he was causing her by the time she found her first release screaming out in pleasure she hadn't felt in the months she had been alone.
Phone sex had been the desired way to deal with the months alone but it was nothing compared to the way she felt when Spike was deep inside of her driving her again and again to new heights. She screamed out as she orgasmed again squeezing him so tightly he thought for sure he would be left without any parts left.
By the third orgasm, he found his release with her and they held each other tightly not wanting to let go. Spike smothered with her kisses as he kissed every inch of her body. Spike wanted to taste every inch as though to ensure it was her. When he finished, she whispered against his lips, "Hold me and don't let me go. God I want to sleep with you, shower with you, make love to you and do everything with you for the next four days. I hope you are seriously off work because I don't plan to let you out of my sight."
Spike kissed her deeply leaving her breathless as he whispered, "I won't touch work at all. I'm all yours Buffy. All yours. I love you Buffy Summers."
She smiled gently as she shut her eyes, "I love you too William Pratt. You will still be here when I open my eyes right? It won't be like when I used to cry myself to sleep only to dream you were here and then cry all over again when I would wake up alone. I won't wake up alone right?"
Spike kissed her on the lips again not able to get enough of her, "No baby I'll be right here when you wake up. We can finally wake up together tomorrow. Now sleep my luv. Tomorrow we have a busy day. We get to eat with my aunt for lunch then eat with your parents for dinner. Sleep sweet Buffy."
Buffy struggled to stay awake but couldn't. The sound of his heartbeat lured her into a deep sleep for the first time in four months. She felt safe, warm and loved as did he and it would stay for the rest of the weekend.
