If Gandalf and Elrond were surprised before at seeing Kanan, Sabine (who had her helmet off), and Ezra they were nothing but stunned when Zeb, Hera, and Chopper came around the far side of the ship.

"By the Valar, who, and…what are you?" asked Elrond with wide eyes as he stared at Hera and Zeb.

Hera and Zeb began to feel rather uncomfortable under the twin stares of Elrond and Gandalf, Sabine reached for her blasters and Ezra for his lightsaber, but Kanan looked to them and said "Not unless we have to."

They nodded and relaxed their hands as Kanan strode forward and said "Hello, I'm Kanan Jarrus and these are my friends. My apprentice Ezra Bridger, and the rest of our crew, Sabine Wren, Zeb Orrelios, Hera Syndulla, and our astromech Chopper" Chopper beeped and rumbled.

If seeing Hera and Zeb was shocking, then seeing a rolling pile of metal that moved of its own accord and made noise was almost too much for the pair. Gandalf reached for his chest and Elrond looked like he might faint.

Kanan looked a little worried as the pair reeled at the sight of Chopper, had they never seen a droid before? He was about to say something when the older man on horseback said "Never in my three hundred lives of men have I seen something so peculiar as this living metal beast"

"Um…I don't know how to respond to that." Said Kanan, making Ezra, Sabine, and Hera chuckle at Kanan's predicament. Elrond seems to remember that he is an Elven lord and is standing next to an Israi wizard, regains his composure and asks "What is your purpose here?"

"We crashed our ship" Hera points to the Ghost speaking up for the first time and continues "Can you point us to the nearest spaceport?"

"Pardon me madam but I must say that I have never seen a ship such as yours, how does something so peculiarly shaped float?" said Elrond.

"Float, like on water?" asks Sabine, everyone starting to get a dreadful sense of how primitive this world is.

"Why yes my lady, for what else do ships float on?" said Elrond as if the idea of ships floating on anything other than water was completely foreign to him.

Hera slaps Zeb on the shoulder and says "Nice going, you had to land us on the one planet with absolutely no way to help us fix our hyperdrive." "Well, at least we know that the Empire isn't here." Says Zeb, trying to make light of the situation that he and Chopper had put them in.

Elrond and Gandalf watch this display for a few moments quizzically, then look at each other and nod "Well" Elrond begins "If it is true that you people are stranded then you may stay at my home nearby in Rivendell, I am Lord Elrond, and if you should know this is my friend Gandalf the Grey."

Kanan looks first to Hera, she nods, then to the rest of the crew who also nod, some more slowly than others, and Kanan sighs before saying "We would be honored Lord Elrond" motioning the crew of the Ghost to follow the mounted pair.

Rivendell… "Wow, this place is beautiful" says Sabine while walking through one of Rivendell's many courtyards, Hera simply nods in agreement and the continues through, not oblivious to the fact that many people seem to be staring unobtrusively, and some blatantly at her crew as they pass through this place.

Elrond takes the crew to his study, and closes the door behind Chopper, who is the last to enter, motioning for them to sit down then sits himself as Gandalf beings to smoke his pipe, leaning on a nearby column. Both notice that what seems to intrigue these people most is his large collection of books.

Gandalf decides to see why these people are so intrigued by Elrond's library and says "Yes, Lord Elrond has one of the largest libraries in Middle Earth". Ezra then says "Wow, you still use books, how primitive is this planet?" looking at Kanan, who slaps Ezra's head lightly and whispers "Don't insult them!"

Elrond decides to stop beating around the bush and asks "Where exactly do you people hail from? For I must say that I have never encountered any like yourselves before."

Kanan looks again to Hera, who again nods, and then says "Well, you see…" it takes him around two hours to tell Elrond and Gandalf about the fact that they're from space, and another two hours to tell the tale of how they first met Ezra and are rebelling against the Empire, finishing with their recent escape from Mustafar and their little hyperspace mishap, which is why they landed here.

"Well, normally I'd say that your story is preposterous, but upon seeing your ship and having no evidence to the contrary I suppose that I'll have to believe you." Says Gandalf, Elrond is deep in thought, worried about this 'Empire' that kills people so wantonly and has enslaved so many lands to its will.

Hera decides that the time has come to ask for help and says "If any of your people could help us repair our ship, it would be most appreciated"

Elrond sighs and replies "I'm afraid that you have come at a most inopportune time, for a great council is to gather here in several days, as the free peoples decide what to do now that the ring of power has been found."

Confused Sabine says "Free peoples? Ring of power?" Realizing that these people have no knowledge of Sauron Elrond says "Yes, all of the free peoples; men, dwarves, and my kin the elves are soon to gather to see what is to be done now that the great weapon of the enemy has been found, for you see in the land of Mordor in the fires of Mount Doom, the dark lord Sauron forged in secret a ring of supreme power, and into this ring he poured his cruelty, his malice, and will to dominate all life, one ring to rule them all. That was more than three thousand years ago, and even though the last alliance cast Sauron down the ring was not destroyed, now that it had been found Sauron could return and enslave all life if it were to return to him, the council must decide what is to be done."

This left everyone speechless, a three thousand plus year old dark lord that could return from the dead? It almost made the emperor look like a nice guy!

Zeb spoke first "you're joking, right? No one can live that long!" At that Elrond says "Sauron is from the very formation of the world, and a being of supreme and terrible power, death is no barrier to him. As for living that long, I myself was present when he was cast down, more than three thousand years ago."

Kanan's eyes went wide, along with everyone else's trying to digest this information. Kanan then decided to voice aloud something "So, that's why the force feels so different around you, brighter, stronger…"

Elrond looks puzzled and asks "What is this 'Force' you speak of?"
