Chapter 25:

Tris POV:

I woke up alone. I guess I should be used to it. Tobias has been gone for a while even though I still feel empty. It has been a month since Tobias and I broke up and I've gone through this weird depression. Christina comes in and out to check on me but I really don't want to see anybody who isn't Tobias.

Due to my boredom, I've taken up a new hobby…baking. It's become some weird obsession (mostly because I'm always craving sweets). I make so many cakes and pies, I always have extra. What am I supposed to do with all this extra food? Neighbors. I know I have a neighbor who is about my age. Maybe he would like some. I gather a basket of cakes and brownies and make my way over to his house. I haven't seen much of him and to be completely honest, I'm so lonely.

I make my way over to his apartment and knock on the door. A tall light brown headed, green-eyed boy comes to the door. He's my age. I find myself struggling for words.

"H-hi. I'm Tris, your neighbor."

He smiles.

"Hi, I'm Drew."

For a second I was a lost looking into his eyes. I forgot who I was.

"We—well anyway, I've been baking a lot lately and I thought you might like some?"

"I mean how is a guy supposed to say no to sweets? Thank you."

I laugh then hand him the basket.

"You're welcome."

I struggle to pull my eyes away from his; they were locked on his big blue eyes. I turn a start to walk back to my apartment then he stops me.

"Umm…Tris, all this food…do you want to come over tonight and have dinner?"

I thought of Tobias. This is wrong but yet again we aren't together anymore and how could I say no to those big green eyes?

"I would love to."

He smiles then I turn back to my apartment.

"I'll see you at seven." I smile to myself.

"Okay."

Tobias POV:

I work out too much. That's all I ever do anymore. I'm on my second run of the day and I'm still looking forward to the next one mostly because I have nothing else to look forward to. I have the music on the highest volume. Out of the corner of my eye I see someone running next to me. A girl. She's yelling, trying to get my attention.

"Hello! Hey there! Can you hear me!"

I take out the ear buds.

"Hi…Do I know you?"

"Not yet!"

She smiles. She is tall for a girl, very athletic obviously, she's out for a run, like me. She has very long blonde hair.

"I'm Stella."

I stop running. I might as well be nice.

"I'm Tobias."

She smiles.

"Finally. I was wondering when you were finally going take notice of my existence. I've only been running the same route as you for…I don't know, a month?"

She laughs and I can't help but laugh a bit too.

"Sorry…you could say I'm a bit distracted."

"Aren't we all?"

We're walking together now.

"So…you run everyday?"

"I do. You could say it keeps me company. I'm loney."

"I know the feeling."

"Great…so you will take me to dinner tonight?"

I stepped back a bit shocked. Is she asking me to take her on a date? I mean she is pretty and nice. I need to move on from Tris.

"Sure. Where do I pick you up?"

"The West Side Apartment building. I'll meet you there at seven."

She runs off and I stay still, shocked. I need more of her. I'm happier already.

"Wait up!" I run after her.
